An amazing Experience
"We recently came back from a brand new - renovated hotel! Our experience was unique since from our step in the hotel the guest relations welcomed us with a refreshing traditional drink from the island and cold refresh towel which was very comforting as the temperature was quite high even in June. While registering they explained us all the facilities and we were accompanied to a beautiful suite called the "minimal". There are different suites styles but ours was amazing... full of comforts with coffee machines, latest tech LCD TV and music stereos , as well as Hermes amenities and nice local sweets we were very pleased! The surprise though came when we dined at the al a carte restaurant at the garden where the food was incredible... even though we wanted to try some other restaurants in the island we didnt find anything better than the bistro restaurant of the hotel. Full of meditarreanean tastes and an extensive wine menu we had an excellent service and unique moments! What to say for the wellness spa which just opened and the greek hot stone therapies with stones from a volcano of an island near by, became my favourite. The staff was so helpful and always suggesting the best treatments for myself.! An amazing hotel, a great experience and we ll definately come back!!!! Everyone should visit!"

"This hotel is well presented on first impressions. There are a mixture of suites and rooms at the front and rear of the hotel. The reception staff speak excellent english and were very courteous. It is a stones throw away from the old city of Rhodes.
The breakfast offers a range from continental to English cooked breakfast, however this is not as hot as it could be at times. The dinner menu for half board sadly needs a review, the main courses are a true lottery and we would recommend that anyone staying at this hotel stay on a B&B basis allowing you to enjoy the many restaurants that the city has to offer.
There are still not enough sunbeds and umbrellas next to the pool. Also the poolside staff at the bar are noticeable by their absence throughout the day. The public rooms lack air-conditioning, the maitre'd is conspicuous by his absence and is only interested in the A-La Carte diners.
The rooms on the upper two floors are tired but the manager has informed us that the hotel is due to close for refurbishment ready for 2008.
Overall it is best to stay here on a B&B basis. However there are some modern small boutique hotels popping up in the new part of the Rhodes city, also a short walk away from the old city."

So near but so far
"We have just returned from a week at the Rodos Park, staying in a suite at the rear of the hotel. Although the view at the rear is of the Ancient Storehouses which are being renovated by workmen you do atleast get the sun in late afternoon. In September the pool at the front of the hotel is in complete shade by 5 pm.
The suite and the public areas of the hotel are very nice and well kept. The dining room is furnished well but the breakfast buffet is not of 5 star quality.
The hotel is well located and well presented but it does not compare with other 5 star hotels we have stayed in in other parts of the world, lacking customer attention mainly. The staff do not bother to clear any of your used breakfast dishes from your table or if they do it is while you are using the buffet and your coffee and napkins disappear! While the suite was cleaned to a satisfactory standard we had to ask to have our lounge waste bin emptied on the 4th day by which time it was overflowing. There was not really a turn down service though the maid did appear with a dish of Turkish Delight about 3 times.
We only ate dinner in the hotel on the first night. We were told by the waiting staff that we had to eat in the grill by the pool as the tables by the terrace were for those on half board. A la carte did not seem to be an option even though the receptionist had told us it was when we arrived. The dinner was expensive and very average - use the Wonder restaurant as recommended by the previous reviewer!
Why not 5 star - the service mainly. Staff were not attentive - no pool service despite there being about 3-5 staff hanging around the pool bar. If drinks were ordered they were brought to you but the dirty glasses would remain by your sunlounger for the rest of the day. The ladies toilet near the pool was filthy.
When we came to check out we had been charged for two items from the mini bar we had not used. It took 20-30 minutes for them to finally agree that they would refund the charge. We were then left feeling that we should not quible about the 17 euros and that we had swindled them in some way! We had used one small bottle of water for which we paid 3 euros. Bottled water is usually complimentary in hotels of this class.
Use this hotel for its great location near the old town but you will pay for very average service and attention."

Yes, we will be back!
"We have just returned home from a wonderful week staying at Rodos Park Suites. For our second trip to Rhodes in three years, but our first to Rhodes town itself we elected to stay in one of the suites at Rodos Park which looked to have the most consistently good reviews of any of the luxury hotels in the area. The bedroom and lounge areas were spacious, immaculately clean with a view to the front of the hotel towards the pool. The décor albeit a little mixed would not have made us enjoy our holiday any more if different!
The hotel itself is relatively small but with that brings one of its main charms that larger luxury hotels will always struggle to replicateâ the charm, friendliness and professionalism of its staff. Of particular note are Reception staff who dealt with a small leak in our bedroom air-conditioning system near wardrobe space by ensuring that all our clothes were re-hung on additional clothes rails by the already twice daily maid service to allow the offending minor leak to be fixed as quickly as possible with no disruption to ourselves.
For travellers looking to immerse themselves in the history of the Old Town the hotel could not be better located a mere 5 minutes walk away. In our case this allowed us the perfect mix of relaxing by the immaculate clean pool area in the morning then enjoying lunch at the pool-side bar before wandering in to get lost in the network of Old Town streets during the afternoon. This leads on to the only slight negative which is, whilst we found the poolside bar great for snacks at lunchtime the restaurant evening menu is expensive when a minutes walk away you can eat at the aptly names âWonderâ, an exquisite courtyard restaurant which delivers Michelin quality food for less the 100 euros including wine for two. Again not sure how important this points is when most travellers when staying in a wonderful city like Rhodes Town will usually look to try as many local restaurants as possible
On chatting to fellow guests we were all in agreement that Rodos Park provides immaculate surroundings from which to explore the beauty and history of Rhodes Town â yes we will be returning!"

the ideal hotel
"It is the ideal hotel to discover the island of Rhodes. It is located in a green area just outside the old city, a ten minutes walk to the bus station and the Mandraki harbour. The old walled city can be entered through the northwestern gate of grandmaster Emery d'Amboise. When you want to visit the old city and the villages on the island (KTEL has frequent bus services to the villages on the east coast) and you are not particularly looking for a beach hotel, there is no better hotel than the Rodos Park hotel. There is a large pool, unfortunately it was not heated - end of April, nobody had a swim.
We received a warm welcome on our arrival at 10 pm. We had a nice, large suite. Service is friendly. Breakfast offers a good choice of pastries, cheese and fruits. Eggs are served according to one's choice.
I strongly recommend the Melathron restaurant for a gastronomic dinner, better than the hotel restaurant. It is located in a side street of the Socrates street, between number 39 and 41.
A good internet place with modern equipment for a few euros per hour is in the G. Griva street, close to a small square."

hotel that delivers
"This hotel delivers all it promises and invariably more. We stayed for one week in a double room. It was well located at the front of the building with its own balcony. The room was well appointed and very clean. It is only a passing comment but the decoration and upholstery is a little confused. However, this did not detract from its pleasantness and a real bonus was that the air conditioning functioned very well. We enjoyed the attention to detail such as having the beds turned down and chocolates each night, sometimes accompanied by a sweet liqueur.
The hotel is on busy road at peak times but there was no road noise in the room. The swimming pool is to the front of the hotel but we did not find the traffic disturbing. The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff is exceptionally good. We did not dine at the hotel but observed that the outside dining appeared charming. The hotel is brilliantly located within easy walking distance (4 minutes) of an entrance to the old town.
We have only one criticism. For a modern truly 5 star hotel it is very surprising that there is no internet Wi-Fi connection in the rooms. This made some business communication difficult. However, we would definitely recommend this hotel and stay there again."

"Very pleasant hotel and convenient for old town with bars and restaurants. We had a room at the rear of hotel which was very quiet, which we found to be in good order and clean.
The only points which let it down was that there weren't enough sun beds or parasols and if you wished to take breakfast outside there wasn't enough shade.
The waiter service by the pool was most of the time poor or non existent. Restaurant menu could do with different specials each day."

Just as good as last time
"We returned to Rodos Park after 4 years and found it every bit as good as before. Why go back? Nothing compares with Rodos Park hotel and Rhodes Town. All of the staff are friendly and helpful. Maid service twice a day with clean linen every day and towels changed twice a day.
The pool is ample size, plenty of sunbeds (most days) in a pleasant garden with a bar and food service.
Not really a place for children, but fine for couples of all ages and business.
We'll be back, and not wait 4 years this time."

Friendly staff ensure a memorable stay.
"From the minute you walk in, you are treated like a long lost friend by all the staff who cannot do enough to make sure you have a good stay.
The whole hotel is appointed to a high standard, even down to the oudoor pool which is metriculously cleaned every morning.
Rooms are spacious and to a high standard of decor. Having a jacuzi in the bathroom is an added bonus after a day exploring Rodos old town.
With house keeping twice a day ( second time to turndown the bed and replenish used towels), you never knew what little treat awaited you by your bed ( where did they get that turkish delight ?)
We stayed over easter and arrived back on big saturday to find easter eggs in a presentation basket waiting for us, another nice touch, unfortunately an early flight prevented us from attending the hotels festivities to which we received a personalised invitation
One note that is nothing to do with the hotel itself. If dining out, try the house medium red wine at approx Euro 6-8 per half litre. This is available in most restaurants and cafe's and very quaffable. Pity you cannot buy bottles to take home.
Hotel ( and wine) 100% recommended"

"This hotel is excellent. I have stayed here on three occasions with my wife and can recommend it to anyone.
Staff are first class, rooms spotless although some need some decorative repairs. Food first class. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. They are always friendly and courteous, with a nice sense of humour.
It best suits those travelling without children. There is a childrenâs play park (local council) nearby about 50 meters from the hotel.
Rhodes town (Old town) is a short walk away about 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Lots to see and do.
The hotel is small, 60 rooms, but this does not detract from it at all. There is an archaeological site behind the hotel which is currently being dug. I am told that they are Byzantize houses. Suites are to the front of the hotel and there may be some road noise.
Rooms are to the rear and very quite with a view of the archaeology!"

Elegant and discrete city hotel
"Rodos Park Suites is a small-scale, elegant hotel situated in one of the best neighborhoods of the city of Rhodes opposite the city's parks, very close to the medieval town and close to the heart of the shopping area. We stayed there in winter, so the location was ideal for the season, but it is also recommended for summer as a city hotel, though. The hotel has 30 suites and 30 standard rooms, but the latter are not very comfortable. I would recommend use of standard rooms in connection with suites (they are all connecting with suites).
Advantages: Good location for city hotel. The suites' advantage is that the bedroom can be fully separated from the sitting area and the bathroom is accessible from both rooms. Also good mattresses ("Hypnos"), comfortable beds, nice furniture in rooms and very elegant furniture and equipment in the lounges and restaurant, very good and kind staff and very quiet and discrete environment. Good fitness facility, but must be paid extra even only for the use of gym. Shortcomings: Very little open ground around the building, no parking or garage and regarding the breakfast, it could be a little better, esp. more variety of bread is needed, as well as more and better croissants (their quality is very low and they are not warm).
One more shortcoming: The hotel's only lounge (next to the lobby), though very cosy and attractive, was not heated most of the time we were there and its fireplace did not work -- so practically it was unusable. That was big disappointment, especially for the Christmas season, as we often wished to stay inside with our children and friends. The heating was also not always sufficient in the restaurant and the lobby.
There is a medium-size open-air pool, which we did not use, as it was winter. But there is lack of space around the pool, there is no comparison with a resort's pool."

OK for Rhodes
"The hotels in Rhodes reallyleave somethign to be desired. Some of them can be super expensive and lacking in every way. Rhodos Park Suites was nice, one of the nicest but not so memorable. For visitors, stay one night on Rhodes, 2 topsand move on toMykonos or Santorini. The old town of Rhodes is wonderful but the rest of the island is really nothing special compared to the rest of greece."
