If you want to experience real hotel car...
"If you want to experience real hotel care, then come here. These people could write the book about customer care. The food is exceptional, the staff a total joy. You're a person to them, and they all want you to enjoy your stay. Yes, there are a few criticisms, the pool is small, the beds are on the firm side, but, hey, look at your location. Directly opposit Elli Beach, and only a short walk from Mandrakis Harbour and the Old Town. You wont be disappointed, trust me!"

Simply the best in Rhodes
"My husband and I stayed at the Ibiscus June 24 to July 9, we have been to Rhodes twelve times now and stayed at six other hotels on the island, this was our first stay at the Ibiscus and it was SIMPLY THE BEST! Everything about the hotel is welcoming and makes you feel comfortable, all the staff are very pleasant and friendly, the restaurant was excellent as was the food and Nikos who runs the restaurant made everyone feel very special, nothing was too much for him. Our waiter Basilis was a lovely man who was always smiling. We had a wonderful sea view room overlooking the beach, the view to the left was the Aquarium and to the right St Nicholas fort it was perfect! We are heading for Zante in September but we will be returning the the Ibiscus next year, (and every year we are able). Rhodes Town itself, especially the Old Town is magical, the people are so friendly, yes, you do get a lot of mither, but as long as you smile and say hello, they soon recognise your face and leave the alone after the first couple of days. A visit to Socratus Gardens in the Old Town is a must, it is a haven of quiet in a bustling town. It was a wonderful two weeks which we can't wait to repeat."

Lovely hotel on the beach
"Stayed at this hotel in July - just 10 minutes walking distance from medieval town of Old Rhodes and five minutes from various ferries and boats to other islands and also around the island of Rhodes via Lindos. Beds are comfortable twins that they will push together and make up into a king. Every room has a balcony, but not a view. Be sure to "push a bit" for a better room. After three tries, we got a room with a sea view, but the best rooms are saved for the tour groups here. Our price from hotels.com included half-baord meaning a buffet breakfast and dinner. Both were good to excellent, depending on the night. Beach towels and hair dryers provided. Internet available in the hotel. Rooms have a small fridge. $15 Euros from the airport by taxi. Service friendly. Lovely bar and lobby area. Very small pool. Beach across street - $3.5 Euros to rent a beach chair and umbrella for the full day. Lots of restaurants, bars within walking distance."

will never use another hotel again BEST EVER IN RHODOS
"we stopped at the ibiscus for 1 week we just got home today 22nd june 2006, this hotel is brilliant, food is excellent (something for everyone) staff in all areas of the hotel were all cheerful polite and very friendly. the drinks are very cheap which is strange for hotels, they were cheaper than most bars, you can sit indoors lots of chairs 2 big tellys (great for the football) etc, or sit outside in the patio area with the beach at your fingertips. the pool is smaller than most pools but is excellent if you just want to relax very nice furnature by pool, but we spent most of our time on beach as its so beautifull ! its very close to all areas, harbour, aquarium, new and the beautifull old town!!! beds were hard but you get used to it rooms are cleaned everyday and are very spacious too and if your lucky enough to have a sea view even better! i would recomend this hotel to everyone, for a queit break or a family holiday as its just brilliant and your made so welcome by EVERYONE!!!! we are gonna go back again in september as we loved it so much and are never going to go to a different hotel, we really didnt want to go home!! go you will love every minute of it kate, birmingham p.s make sure you go on the 4x4 safari its fantastic best trip i have ever been on great views they take you all round the island, little villages, off road, to their beach with a liitle bar, there is no one there but you its fantastic and very beautifull, go ul love it!!!!!"

"We had a WONDERFUL 3 night stay at this hotel in mid-May and would return in a hearbeat. The hotel is beautiful, the location is great and the meals were good. The staff was very welcoming and always friendly and helpful, the lobby had a great bar and very comfortable sports bar section as well as lots of chairs and sofas to sit and have private conversations and just relax. The the dining room was bright, cheery and big and had a great friendly staff. The only little problem we had were the beds were very hard, but that seems to be the norm for hotels in Greece as that was was one of three that we stayed at and they all had hard beds."

A great hotel gets better!
"My wife and I recently stayed in the Ibiscus Hotel Rhodes town, which we had done before and had already reviewed. This excellent hotel still had all the positives that we had enjoyed in the past, among them being: â¢On of the most interesting hotel views in Rhodes, especially if your fortunate to get a front room â¢Elli beach on your door step, described as Robert Durrel as the finest shingle beach in the med. This was 50 years ago, and whilst it is busier its still true â¢Opposite the Aquarium, well worth a visit if your interested Improvements this year that enhanced our stay included: â¢The reception staff of whom Iâve read harsh words on these pages were helpful and courteous â¢The buffet breakfast now much improved by the dinning room improvements, has a even better food selection and a chef every morning cooking crepes and fried eggs to order, watch him toss them, including the eggs!, adds a certain theatre â¢The dinner is now a buffet; you still have the excellent waiters seeing to your every need, but now a massive choice of food, in quantities to suit you. Prepare to put on weight! A new head waiter, charming and efficient and as with breakfast a chef cooking something special in his theatrical way Were already looking forward to our next visit"

Loved the Ibiscus
"We stayed at the Ibiscus on a recommendation and we were not disappointed. The hotel is in an excellent position, well laid out, the rooms a good size, the towels clean and fluffy. The food is very good and the staff very kind and friendly to all ages and nationalities. We look forward to staying there again, probably next year. We did see other 'grander' hotels but we have no complaints at all."

Rhodes with a baby in tow - good hotel in a great location
"We've just returned from a week at the Ibiscus Hotel in Rhodes Town. This hotel is in a great location across a fairly quiet road from Elli Beach which is probably the best beach in and around Rhodes Town. We've been to Rhodes many times but this was the first time we have stayed in Rhodes Town. We chose the Ibiscus for its location rather than from prevous experience or recommendations. The New Town with its variety of shops is on the doorstep and the Old Town is about a 10-15 minute walk away. Overall the hotel exceeded our expectations. The rooms were fairly spacious, comfortable and clean (the cot provided for our baby was virtually brand new). The air conditioning in our room was the most efficient and controllable we've had in Rhodes. Public areas of the hotel were all very tidy and maintained in good condition. We stayed on a half board basis but only ate dinner in the hotel 3 times (this is fairly normal for us and in no way a reflection on the quality of the food - all of which was served piping hot). Food is served buffet style with a good choice but, as with a lot of hotels, if you chose to eat in every night you may get a bit bored with it. However, there are plenty of alternatives close by to match any budget and it would be a mistake not to venture outside of the hotel to eat a couple of times. The only downside of the hotel is the very small pool and lack of sunbeds (only 6 available that usually had towels on them by 6 am) but with the beach so close by this was not a real problem. Also, with a 6 month old in tow, we aways knew there would be much less lying around in the sun this year. The staff at the hotel were all excellent and could not do enough to help us - nothing was too much trouble for them and everyone from reception, houskeeping, bar and restaurant took time out to talk to us and keep Joshua "Tsambikos" (its a long story!) amused. We knew that families are very improtant in Greece but this did not prepare us for just how much everyone over there seems to love babies. Breakfast typically took about an hour simply because staff and guests kept taking time out to talk to Joshua. This helped to make our stay very special. If you are travelling with a baby then I would definitely recommend this hotel. There is probably not enough available in the hotel to keep toddlers and older children entertained but there is plenty to do in the vicinity. We're hoping to go back to Rhodes again in September this year and, assuming we do, will be looking to stay at the Ibiscus again."

A beautiful value money holiday
"My wife and I went on our first holiday together with our 16 month old boy! We where a little aprehensive of staying in a town hotel with a very active child. We did not need to worry as the hotel was excellent. The Hotel staff could not do enough for us - if you have children I recommend that you stay at this hotel. The food was lovely and the room was clean and very comfortable. The hotel is in A1 position to make the most of the beaches aswell as exploring the harbour and town. I have been to Greece many times, but I think that the holiday in Rhodes town and staying at the Ibiscus hotel was the best holiday I have had in Greece."

"The Hotel Ibiscus is in a very good location, with the beach just opposite !! The Hotel looks great, and it is nice and comfortable, but since going there around 6 years ago it has changed for the worse. Now it is owned by Rhotel Group !! The staff can be very unfriendly ( If you are a man ) especially on reception. There is one young tall lady who was friendly, and always has a smile for you but the others did not follow suit. The food is okay if you want Chips every night ( They are called all sorts of fancy names, not chips, french fries or pommes ). The quantity is small ( if you manage to get it all of the serving plate that the waiter serves from ) Please donot sit in the last row ( smokers section ) the older waiter was terrible and caused many a argument from me and my family, and is always getting shouted at by the head waiter. Sounds untrue but not. Great hotel, location 9/10, reception staff 7/10 Breakfast / Dinner staff 3/10. Food 4/10. Buffet ( once a week only ) 9/10 - This is very good with ample choice, and you donot have to have many discussions with the waiters. Cleaning 3/10 ( our room was never cleaned thouroughly throughout our stay of 2 weeks !!!"

Great vacation in Rhodes
"My family (2 sons, mum, and husband) spent a week in sunny Rhodes staying at hotel Ibiscus (17 Nissirou, Rhodes). The hotel is situated by the Elli beach in Rhodes town. I celebrated my birthday during our stay there, so the trip was extra fun for me. The hotel was great, good food, it was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The beach is nice too, clean and not too much sand (our children are 17 and 24, so they didnt want to play in the sand...). The temperature of the sea was 21-22 oC; just perfect to get refreshed after some time in the sun. There are many wonderful restaurants in the town; I want to mention specially 2. I had my birthdaydinner at Angeli di Roma, which is an italian restaurant with excellent food. Try e.g. the wood-oven baked pizzas. You wont be disappointed. We went 3 times to this restaurant during the week. Another nice restaurant is Wonder. Excellent food and lovely atmosphere in the garden. Try the table wine and pepper steak, e.g. Every family member had different dinner and everybody said their choice was very good. Alltogether, I think Rhodes town is a good choice for vacation; you have the beach and the town just a few minutes walk away. I'm looking forward to the next visit to this lovely and friendly place. Hope you'll find it great, too!"
