chill out and eat out
"Had a week in july with my partner and 7 year old son and a friends family, very quiet when we got there which was good because we got the pool to ourselves.we had a studio appartment which was small but all we needed with a beautifull view,my friend had a two bedroom apartment,as he has two children, which was quite a bit bigger but as i said mine was ideal. The staff ,espescially micheal (mikey b to us),were great, nice to the kids and really helpful when we couldnt get a taxi to the airport at the end of our stay (he actually went out on his mo-ped and got us two taxis). Have read the other review about the dogs and Dimitri the owner, who is a lovely bloke, keeps them somewhere else now,we met one of them and it is a lovely dog but you can understand people may not be keen as it is big,but that is not an issue now. Pefkos is a nice resort, if a little quiet for some people, with a nice family atmosphere a visit to lardos good heart restaurant is a must for a taste of real greek food and a boat trip to lindos is also well worth it as a taxi ride just doesnt come close, the owner is one of the best people you will meet ever. All in all i would recomend this to anyone who wants to relax in a nice place with nice people."

Check it out
"Just returned from yet another fantastic holiday in Pefkos, stayed at the Marianthi for the third time in a year and have to say we always get a warm welcome from all the guys there. Rooms are plenty big enough and cleaned every day except sundays with clean bedding and towels. The pool area is great for relaxing and for a snack, also has great views of the beach."

Great central location
"Great central location, we were in the old blocks which could have done with a lick of paint and a good clean. Bedding was changed once a week, cleaned every day apart from Sundays. Pool was one of the best I have seen for Greece (just as well we were in it for 2 weeks with our little girl). I found that the food and drinks in the pool bar changed price frequently it seemed to be that it depended on who served you at the time. Air conditioning was 100 euros for 2 weeks, I had heard that before we left it had gone up to 120 euros! Best restaurant we found was the one just opposite called Terpsis, very child friendly. Cheapest supermarket was the one just a little bit up the road (on the right) and down the short cut (cant remember what it was called). Beach was full of sunbeds which were 8 euros. Overall a great holiday but wont be going back."

First Class Location
"The Marianthi Apartments are probably the best located accomodation in Pefkos. Beautiful views out to sea and the fabulous hills behind - watching the mountain goats became part of our day!! Our favourite beach only 5 mins. walk down hill and everything else only a stroll away. We were the first holiday makers to arrive and everything had a smell of fresh paint about it - felt quite queenly! The apartments are bright and spacious, the pool area and bar are lovely and everyone was helpful and friendly. This was our 3rd time in Pefkos and certainly won't be our last. Just a fabulous place to relax. We headed to the Anixis and the welcome we received from the Trimmis family was fabulous - please go and eat there - you will not be disappointed!"

better than expected
"Read reviews about Marianthi so didn't expect a palace. Arrived at 1am, no rep to met us, we collected our key from the bar belonging to the appartments, put bags in room and went back to the bar, which had stayed open for us, 2 iced glasses of mythos (3 euros each) later ready to face the world. We were given a studio, very small, only 2 plug sockets in room (took our own 4 plug extention) ,the shower in the bathroom did'nt have a wall mount so could'nt use it handsfree, and a half size bath, hubby had to sit with his chin resting on his knees to take a bath, clear glass in the window meant that people coming down from the upper floor could see into the bathroom, very embarrassing for all concerned,. limited pots/pans, uncomfortable mattresess. the rep got us a room change after 2 days to a bigger room, that was much better. Rooms were cleaned every day but sunday, 1 loo roll in then you buy you'r own, having said that the place has a friendly atmosphere helped along by the nicest barman,Michael, nothing was too much trouble, happy and friendly, an asset to the place. We thought the best meals were at the chinese/indian restaurant next to the appartments, all the places we tried were nice but that was the best. Cocktails were best at the cocktail bars, Jimmy's and the Peacock ( good music at the Peacock), not in the hotels. Pefkos was very quiet, we found karaoke and quiz at the Summer Memories and Pefkos Beach Hotels. Watch the supermarkets, one had tin of beans for 2.70euros the rest were between 70 /80cents. We would stay at the Marianthi again, such a friendly place, just needs doing up abit"

don,t go to marianthi in pefkos unless you like rottweilers
"went to the marianthi studios in pefkos and had a terrible time.the owners have big rottweiler dogs and they roam about the place freely.this was a nightmare for me as i,m terrified of these kind of dogs.one of the dogs even pushed it,s way past my friend as she was on her way to the toilet and it started licking from the toilet bowl.i like to have an early morning swim when i go on holiday, but as i was so scared to go to the pool area or in fact anywhere at the studios icouldn,t get my swim when i wanted.studios were not too bad though not very clean.view from balcony was amazing.just want people to know what there letting themselves in for with the dogs as i know lots of people are terrified of this type of dog.my rep tried constantly to sort it out but first choice my agents didn,t care once i gave them my money.[last choice they shall be known as]"

Good overall - with a few issues
"apartment ----------- The Marianthi Apartments are well situated near the center of pefkos - but just far enough away from the noiser bars to ensure it's quiet at night. We had a 2 bed apartment, it wasn't very clean when we arrived - the sheets and towels were fine, but the floors were *filthy* - we all had black feet after walking on them, i also don't think they had ever been cleaned under the beds since they were built. Cleaning of the rooms happened but i couldn't quite work out the frequency - the floors were never cleaned. In a few places bare wires were sticking out of the walls - they were all taped up and my kids are old enough to know not to touch but this is really unsafe. word of warning : you will be ripped off for the air conditioning. We were charged 200 euros for 2 weeks, 50 euros per week and as we had a 2 room apartment with a unit in each we were charged twice. I wish i'd known that you could pay for one (to get the remote control) and then switch the other one on anyway without telling them (theres a switch behind the plastic front). 200 euros is a disgraceful rip off, and as your electricity goes off when you leave the room you can't even leave it on so it's cool when you get back. Safety deposit box cast us 20 euros for two weeks for a key Apart from all this, it was spacious and roomy - very basic kitchen of toaster, 2 rings and a fridge (all you need to be honest) and well situated. The brochure said it had free wireless internet access - the bar (attached to the apartments) below us did but the signal didn't reach the rooms (to either my iphone or laptop). You could use it from the bar though. The bar was clean and not hugely overpriced and good for drinks & snacks. The pool was very good and very clean. Our checkout was at midday, but flight was midnight - we paid 25 euros to keep the room till six and then left our cases at the bar - this felt safe to do (and was) The staff were friendly and helpful. pefkos ---------- Very family & english orientated and very, very quiet during the day - sometimes it felt like a ghost town before 7pm. There's some great restaurants (smile garden is *very* good) and a couple of bad ones - we generally found the ones off the main road had better food and cheaper prices. The supermarkets are full of english food - some of them seem to have more english food than tesco does. We didn't need it apart from to buy bread for some toast for breakfast. Nearest town is lindos - which is very busy, 1.50 Euro on the (very crowded) bus each or 7 euro for a taxi. It's only 10 minutes away by taxi (but you could never walk it). On the buses kids seem to go free, we got the bus to Rhodes Town (1hr 20 mins approx) for 5 euro each and the kids went free. The earlier buses are very very full but most people seem to get out at lindos so you only end up standing for ten minutes. We heard stories of buses just not stopping though as they were already full. It's worth going to Thomas Beach if you have kids, it's very quiet and has a few shallow pools which are great for kids. Lots of fish & craps to see and catch and you can even find tame fish you can feed bread to. Most people seem to not go there and cram onto the main beach - no idea why !"

"I have just come back from a week at the Marianthi apartments in Pefkos. Had a brilliant time and would definately go back! The rooms were really big and spacious and had everything we needed, kitchen area with fridge, kettle, toaster, big bedrooms with safe, hairdryer, balcony. The apartments had a lovely view right down to the beach and are in a really good location, not noisey but only a few hundred yards walk to the supermarket and main street. The swimming pool was great, really big and clean and there were always plenty of sunbeds, some days we were nearly the only ones by the pool! Pool bar is great too, serves good choice of snacks like burgers, pizzas, salad, toasties Also visited Lindos while we were there, would highly reccomend it, only a â¬7 taxi ride. Great views from the top, and a lovely pretty old town. We ate out every night and didn't have a bad meal, the food was amazing. I highly reccomend Enigma, Terpsis, Nostalgia......yummy food!! Also Jimmy cocktail bar was fab! Can't wait to go back!"
