"Fantastic place, recently came back after staying for a week. Terry (the owner) is the man, the guy was an ambassador. He loves his customers, treats them like his friends. Nothing (however trivial) was too much trouble âno worriesâ! He spends time with his guests. He runs a tight ship, hes fair but firm. All the staff were very helpful, especially Maria! Facilities are good, a well stocked mini market, The breakfast was very good, much more than a continental breakfast, with plenty of choice. Their hamburgers were very tasty! Its a great place! As the hotel is on the side of mountain, transport is advised and for some is essential! The hill, although not steep is long and winding and in 35c heat is not for the faint-hearted. As soon as u arrive, stock up on plenty of water, put some in the freezer and when u venture out you can mix with juice or squash and it will keep u going all day! Well done Terry, fair dinkum mate! really good hotel
"just returned from relaxing holiday in Maran. The hotel is clean ( maid service daily except sunday) and the staff extremely helpful and friendly. The pool area even when busy was a relaxing area and never felt overcrowded. The 'cooking' equipment is one electric stove hob and 2 pans and 4 sets of cutlery and plates etc and fridge. There is a number of supermarkets in the area- again very helpful so food is easy to get , but be ready to cook one pot dishes only! there is a number of good ,cheap restaurants in faliraki and the snack bar in the hotel does good simple dishes and offers take away if you want to eat on the balcony. The distance into faliraki is up a hill and would be quite a long walk in the heat- we hired a car and this was great ( don't miss lindos and fort and Rhodes town at night). I would not suggest driving to a nervous/inexperienced driver - the roads are not in good condition and the greeks have a unique driving style!!!! The Maran was quiet the only noise actually came from the Valenca hotel directly below it ( definately the party hotel! with loud music playing around their pool) . The other noise was on the second floor the wind that blows across the island can howl very loudly and rattle through the slats on the doors. The rooms do have air conditioning which can be paid for on arrival at 5 euro per night. You can if the room is available also pay a day rate of 25 euros to keep you room - really useful is your flight is very late. "

"Not bad for a late bargain, but if we hadn't got it so cheap would have been very disappointed. Hotel was very shabby, roomâs small, area around pool very untidy and unkempt. Was a bit out of centre and up a steep hill so had to rely on taxi's which although only between 5 - 8 euro a time soon significantly add up. Not suitable for families as no entertainment or anything for children to do, or for those looking for lively hotel as lucky if there were 10 people by pool during the day."

"The hotel was nice and pleasant. Bit of a trek up the hill but taxis are cheap and easily available. Never seen the main restaurant open, the pool bar served average food most of the day. The room was spacious enough and clean, we even had a shower curtain! The beds and towels were changed everyday along with the bins. There was a lack of entertainment, a karaoke on a Friday night was all that was laid on. The hotel shop had all your essentials at a reasonable price. The bar staff were great -free peanuts all night every night! The view from the bar was amazing! Over all it was a good holiday in a nice hotel - would highly recommend it."

"A great holiday booked last minute and was worth every penny. Nice hotel, great staff and Rep recommended some great days and nights out which were brilliant where we met lots of people and made the most of our holiday. Would go again, taxis are cheap so it being on the outskirts of the resort didnât bother us at all. Try it."

"The resort itself has had some bad press in the last few years but we loved it and our hotel was simple but clean and the staff were really friendly. We were at the top of a huge hill so had to taxi everywhere but that only cost a few euros and was well worth doing, some people who braved the hill looked almost finished off by the time they reached the hotel! This was a last minute cheap holiday and what we got was not a disappointment at all. We had no problems with theft or abuse from other guests and would recommend the hotel to anyone who wants a fun holiday (probably not one for young families though). They have their own pool as well so you don't have to sneak into other hotels for a dip!"
