Great hotel, great location
"We stayed at the Bahamas last year and are booked in to return again this year. The whole family are so welcoming but the rooms are basic but very clean so if you're looking for 5-star luxury this isn't the place for you! But it's ideally situated just 5 minutes walk from the town centre so is quiet and relaxing. The pool area is so tranquil with a small pool bar that provides great food and drinks all through the day. Overall, I can't praise Billy, Costas and the rest of the family enough for the great holiday experience they provide - the family alone deserve much more than 2 stars!!"

"Went away with my parents and sister (18) and really enjoyed it! (Been doing exams before and i had forgotton how to relax!) The location is perfect, just out side of the town. However, i did feel a little uneasy walking back at night time as it was very dark from the town to the hotel and not many people about. Every one who has raved about it is right. The pool is quite and calm. There is something for everyone to do in the town, all ages. Lovely family who run the hotel. Our rep (Emma) was really sweet and helpful too. I didn't wake up in time for breakfast though i did on the first day and it is nothing worth setting an alarm clock for. There are plenty of diffent beaches around the island. It is worth worth renting a bike. "Socrates" in Kos town is a lovely taverna. I'd recommend the hotel to anyone who wants to relax. Wouldn't really advise it for anyone with children or all night party people. "

"First time to Kos and was overwhelmed by the friendliness of the family, they made us feel like part of the family as soon as we arrived (00.15 and we still partied!). Mama, Papa George, Billy, Costas and of course Proud Mary! (Karaoke queen and pool table dancer extrordinaire), all made us very welcome and we regard them as friends (not forgetting 2 lovely girls who were chatty and friendly and a good laugh, Kelly and Sarah). We are booking for next year and can't wait to see them all again and especially to have Mama's meatballs. If you want a holiday full of laughs and to feel like part of an extended family this is definitely the place for you. Rod and Trish"

"Me and my girlfriend had the greatest first holiday together. The location was fantastic; under 10 mins walk to Kos town from the hotel. The hotel was spotless. Anyone who complains about this hotel needs their head testing. We booked with Thompson and we will book again, the excursions were great for our first time in Kos. Relatively cheap as well. Billy and Costas were always there 24 hours to help, they don't sleep! Cheap beer in the bar, which is nice, great people, great music, I recommend this to anyone. "

Perfect for all kinds of holidays
"A steady 15 minutes stroll to the beach/shops/harbour or just lounge around the good sized pool. The sunbeds are free and padded cushions only 1 euro per day. Very reasonably priced drinks and a nice selection of snacks made by Mamma from the pool bar. The rooms are simple Greek style but spotless with a small fridge and optional air-con. Also two mugs but no rings so you'll need your kettles. We stayed in one of the rooms above the Bar facing the road which don't get direct sun so we didn't need the air-con despite 29 degrees last week. There were some vocal animals locally (and in the lounge) but with only the odd vehicle during the night we slept with one of the sliding doors open every night or should I say morning as we never got to bed before midnight. Breakfast is simple buffet style, cereals, fruit, bread/toast, cheese, ham (cake some mornings) and as much tea, coffee and weak orange juice as you can drink and if you need more you can get a full English from the pool bar for 6 euros. No doubt about it the hub of the hotel was the bar/lounge. Three tv's and again very reasonably priced drinks and well used by most of the English Guests (many of who are multiple visitors) Nothing was too much trouble for the Sons Bill and Kostas who'd just installed John Smiths Smooth last week which went down a treat. And then there was Mad Mary behind the bar. She had everybody clapping and joining in the Greek Dancing during the BBQ and the bingo and karaoki nights were a scream. All in all a thoroughly enjoyable week and I'd have no hesitation to return or recommend The Bahamas to anyone of all ages."

Fabulous family run hotel
"We checked the reviews on tripadvisor before booking a weeks stay at the Bahamas through Thomsons and we were not disappointed. The hotel is clean and basic, the pool area was very nice with no problems finding a sun lounger. The real selling point for the hotel, as all the reviews mention, is the family who runs it, they are very welcoming and extremely friendly, the friendliness is contagious and you find yourself recognising and greeting other hotel guests when around Kos town. Billy and Costas who run the hotel bar in the evening will stay open as long as you like but are very conscious of other guests, so if you do want an early night you will not be bothered by any noise. If you do go and they hold an evening of entertainment but sure to go, on the nights we were there all ages were joining in and had a fantastic time. i would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone."

"My wife & I stayed at the Bahamas hotel in August 07, we only managed to book our holiday 6 days before we left and just got one week at the Bahamas hotel, how lucky we were it was a great location! The staff were absolutely brilliant remembering names of guests straight away no complaints with the accommodation very clean well run. The resort of Kos town was great plenty of trips well organised by Thompson tui group good value for money the weather was unbelievable 40 degrees at times. We would return again like a shot. "

"Small family run hotel as the reports say. All the family are very helpful and the sons Costas and Billy help with everything they can. Extremely clean and friendly. Mary is life and soul of the bar area. If you want a fairly central hotel which allows you access easily to the rest of the island with a friendly family atmosphere at reasonable prices then this is a good place to go. You will always get the moaners who are looking for something that they are not willing to pay for and that is life. However what they have to moan about is really beyond me. My best regards to all the family - I hope they keep in touch"

Basic, but great
"Just returned from 2 fantastic weeks at the Bahamas. The facilities are a little basic, but the welcome more than makes up for this! The hotel is run by the whole family - everyone is made to feel as if they are house guests rather than clients. Rooms are adequate - all you'd really need, and the whole hotel is kept extremely clean. We had some great nights in the bar, but if you fancy an early night, it's not so loud that it would disturb you."

A little gem
"Fantastic small hotel run by friendly Greek family who work so hard to make your holiday perfect. Youâre made to feel welcome from the moment you arrive until the time you have, sadly, to go. The rooms are simple but quite spacious and have everything you need: hairdryer, fridge, comfy beds, plenty of storage space, completely private and peaceful balcony and a shower curtain that fits so no wet, slippery floors. Everything in the room worked even though it was almost the end of the season. The rooms are cleaned thoroughly every day except Sunday and linen is changed regularly. Aircon is available at 40 euros a week and this was a boon, even at the end of September. The pool is larger than we expected with plenty of sunbeds in sun or shade, as you prefer. The pool area is peaceful and nicely planted with palm trees and flowering shrubs, giving a relaxed atmosphere. The pool bar is manned from breakfast time till evening and sells food and drink at very competitive prices. The pool, as with everything else at this hotel, is immaculately clean. The entertainment evenings are very popular and prices at the bar very reasonable. If you like football, youâll love the big screens there. The included breakfast was more than adequate and alongside the usual bread, cheese, ham and jam we had fresh, ripe watermelon, something we didnât expect. The hotelâs location is excellent â a 10 minute walk to the scenic harbour and lovely and interesting town centre and about 15 to a sand/pebble beach with sunbeds, tavernas and bars and a great view of the harbour and Turkey. The area around the hotel is quiet and although other hotels are being built in this area, we were never disturbed by building site noise. There are a few supermarkets and small restaurants nearby. Itâs a very friendly hotel and if you like meeting people itâs perfect, but if you just want to get away from it all and relax, youâll have a good time too. You feel welcome, safe and looked after. We had a wonderful fortnight there and would recommend the Bahamas to everyone."
