Kos Town is the capital of the Greek island of Kos and is a vibrant, cosmopolitan resort. Home to Kos’s main port, the town gets very busy with day-trippers from other parts of Greece and nearby Turkey in the summer months.

Holidays in Kos Town are great for couples of all ages and there is a wide range of accommodation on offer to suit all tastes and budgets. Very reasonably-priced package holiday deals are common and are ideal for those who aren’t too fussy about which property they stay in. Most properties have a pool for the use of their guests but you’ll almost certainly want to make the most of Kos Town’s beautiful sandy beach and spend at least some of your time here. The beach is lined with cafes, bars and restaurants, most of which serve food throughout the day and late into the evening.

Kos Town is a beautiful town for exploring and it’s all too easy to lose yourself in the narrow, winding streets with their pretty shops and stalls. Modern bars and hotels stand alongside historic Venetian buildings, creating a unique and charming town centre. Much of Kos Town is pedestrianised and the streets come alive at night with countless bars and small nightclubs. The standard of food is generally good in Kos Town, with traditional Greek dishes served alongside Western options.

For those who want to see a bit more of the island, frequent boat trips leave Kos Town harbour and stop off at various other towns and resorts. If you’re looking to travel a little further, it’s possible to visit the Turkish town of Bodrum on a daytrip. Those on package holidays in Kos Town will find their travel company offers a variety of excursions but it’s possible to book trips locally if you prefer.
