"we travel out to kos every year, wouldn't dream of staying in another hotel. The zeus is clean affordable and extremely friendly. Nothing is too much hassle for the owners they treat you like part of the family... i know where i will be going on holiday every year without a doubt!"

Hotel still good, breakfast still poor
"Hotel still excellent, family run and everyone eager to help, even grandpa. Do not miss the BBQ. Excellent value and mothers banana cake is worth it on its own. Very clean, quiet and welcoming. Bar staff are wonderful entertainment. Breakfasts are still poor but it is a small thing that is unlikely to ruin your holiday."

Zeus hotel, Kos
"we arrived back last Sunday (10/10/10). We thought the hotel was absolutely excellent. We had a small problem when we arrived which was very quickly dealt with, and the whole place was clean, friendly and a lovely atmosphere. All the staff seemed please to look after us, they looked as if they were enjoying themselves too. The resort itself has a lot to offer, but there are a load of unfinished, deserted buildings, which made the area look slightly derelict. However, most of the restaurants are excellent, in particular Hippocrates - Nikki is worth her weight in gold! Probably the nicest small hotel we have ever visited. I agree that breakfast is meagre, even by continental standards. A slice of cheese or ham would have been nice for those of us with a savoury tooth. But that is genuinely the only criticism! We would definitely return to the hotel, the resort itself we will think about! "

"We were unlucky because we lost our holiday booked with Goldtrail. However we managed to get flights through a travel agent but couldn't get the Kefalos resort so decided to book the Zeus hotel direct only because the reviews were really good. The staff were very helpful and said that if we couldn't stay at the hotel they had access to apartments across the road. Well it turned out to be a disaster. We slept in the hotel the first night unfortunately ended up in the basement area which is just below road level. We couldn't leave the door open during the night as we were worried that someone could enter our apartment. We needn't have worried as we were asked to leave the following day and go to the apartment across the road - the Sevi Appartments. We decided to make the best of it as they were not very clean and put the air conditioning on before we went out. When we returned we found about an inch of water all over the floor and our suitcases were wet through. My husband fetched Maria and Zak who were very apologetic and we were moved to the room next door. It was quite windy this particular night and the roof was rattling so much so it kept us awake. The following day we decided to book into another hotel for the remainder of our holiday. We checked out and we were charged the full rate!! We thought as a gesture of goodwill it would have been nice if they had knocked off some money especially as our suitcases were still wet. We loved Kefalos but we wonât return to the Zeus. "

A Great holiday
"What a great holiday we had. A family run hotel with a great atmosphere, spotlessly clean, very friendly people who could not help you enough. We will definately return as soon as we can. This was our first time in Kefolos and we thoroughly enjoyed all of it. "

"Arrived back to a dreary Devon from a fabulous week in the beautiful Greek Island of Kos last weekend. I had originally booked the holiday for just myself and even though a friend came with me, the hospitality and the people working and staying at the Zeus would've kept me entertained. The hotel is absolutely ideal for anyone wanting to either chill out, venture out and about, and explore the island. Myself and my friend had just gone to chill out and relax, and the hotel was just the ticket. Its spotlessly clean and tidy, it was quiet, its an ideal spot away from the bars and restaurants (the walking distance was not far at all). The owners most definately take pride in this little hotel. The pool is cleaned every day and there were always sun beds available. The owners are very helpful and of course the son Nikolas was very entertaining for all the guests who were in the bar in the evening (or even if you had spotted him in a bar elsewhere!!). Even when you trundled in at silly a'clock with a knee pouring with blood, Tony was on hand with the plasters and of course bottles of water and crisps... the essentials for a first aid kit. Breakfasts were basic, with the roll and jam, which were absolutely fine but we tended to venture over to T 4 2 every other day for the breakfasts there after a night on the pop - the place is run by an English couple and they were quite happy for us to have the 'childrens breakfast'!! All very reasonably priced. Our evenings were spent in the restaurents (Rainbow, Waves, Hippocrates), again all very reasonable with fantastic staff and fantastic food. Then onto the bars, we only tended to favour the bars at our end rather than going to the harbour side - especially after a tip off from our 'reps' stating Sydneys was a good night out on a Friday. They were wrong and we had not gone on holiday to do a quiz at 10pm in a bar ??!!!! We enjoyed 'Players' with the lovely Manilos and his brother, with their very friendly staff and DJ. After the music was turned down and our dancing feet needed to take us elsewhere, we usually ended up in Sebastian 2 where we could just sit and chill and meet lots of different people. We also ventured to the Greek Night up in the village of Zia which was awesome, Kos Town, Tingaki Beach and again seeing Zia during the day for a spot of shopping. We found the whole Kos experience fantastic and great value for money - having brought cash back home. Could not recommend this place enough. We certainly go back again. "

"Having just returned from our third visit to Kefalos (second visit to Zeus) we have today booked to return in september for another week. We both absolutely love Kefalos and feel this wonderful "inner peace " as soon as we wake up on day one. The family are delightful , making everyone welcome in thier spotlessly clean hotel. The pool area is beautiful and never crowded , drinks priced very competitively and nothing to much trouble. We eat in Hubs ,captain Johns and savvas just across the road at the back of Jims supermarket (they are both lovely as well).Beware of "honest john " at Trust rentals as he is a wide boy who would steal from his own grandmother , Katerina is cheaper and more honest. I could not speak more highly of the Zeus and the family and find it surprising that some people have to travel to a Greek island to discover that hollow doors make a noise when you slam them!.Keep it up Maria , your sort cannot fail to succeed"

Me and my boyfriend went to this hotel w...
"Me and my boyfriend went to this hotel was we saw it the travel agents ast a great price. we were aware that it was a quite part ot the season and at only 17, we had our doubts. We arrived on the 28th of may, very early in morning to very friendly and happy employees. Our room was on the 1st floor, and yes the doors do bang, but it doesnt disturb you at all. The rooms were very clean and well kept, the only tiny problem was we asked for extra pillows on the first day but never got them. The food in the bar in the day time, is really nice and you are always greated with the warmest of smiles were ever you look. We were by far the youngest couple but there was couples from uni there up to around 70! And it suited everyone!!! the night life was great as we got friendly with all the reps, and the resteraunts were TO DIE FOR! gorgeous!! the aussie bar and sydneys are fantastic!!! the bubble beach is also fantastic you have to go there! the water sports are veryyyy cheap. I would definatly recommend this hotel. if you go you will not be disapointed! Its great weather, great people, food and atmosphere. Definatly would go back again!!!!! "

"ZEUS HOTEL KEFALOS KOS We have just returned from a weeks holiday 10th september 2008 at the Zeus Hotel. The hotel was lovely and clean, we had a double room for 4 even though we were a party of 2. 1 double bedroom with own balcony and 2 single beds leading into shower with a curtain toilet plus another balcony. Both rooms have plenty of storage for cloths. The rooms had a hairdryer and a iron. NO FRIDGE. we both thought that a fridge was an ecentual thing, as the temp were 37++ each day not nice waking up to warm water!! We read other reviews on this site and took on board about ear infections from the pool! The swimming pool was well used all week and was CLEANED EVERYDAY by owners and we felt sure we would have heard from talking to people at the bar in the evening if there were any problems. We did not use the pool as we enjoyed the sea everyday ,but on our return from the beach we would enjoy a drink round the pool. The sun beds were excellent with a good thick mattress and umbrella. some beds were in the shade. The bar area was lovely, with lovely leather sofas, which was designated as the non smoking area. then there was another area for smokers leather chairs and tables + seating at the bar which worked extremely well, it catered for everybodies needs. The prices at the bar very reasonable mythos 2 euros barcardi and coke greek measures 3 euros. Breakfast was disappointing, although we did know it would be a bread roll and jam, we had it once then went out to breakfast. i personally feel scap the breakfast and call it self catering, then maybe we may get a fridge!! We had beakfast at T42 that was excellent. we ate at hubs in the evening excellent. Lunch on the beach at Katarina Crab salad +++. You are spoilt for choice with tavernas i didnt hear a bad point about any of them. The resort is lovely, everybody friendly and the beach is lovely, the sea is like a warm bath clean and clear. Only a short walk from the Zeus Hotel. We will definately be returning to Kefalos and the Zeux. We were caught up in the XL Kosmar crash, even though the owners were not getting paid for our room and rightly upset about the hole thing, there was no mention that they wanted any extra money from anybody staying. Although it had been said some people had been thrown out of there accomodation in the resort! or asking for more money. The owners of the zeus said they had lost 20 rooms over night and £20,000. The information that came through was good and we were flown home by an eygtian airline. Thank you abtol well done with rescue. I would have scored above average if it wasnt for the fridge."

Zeus Hotel - never again!
"This was our second visit to Kefalos and we were really looking foward to it after two fantastic weeks at the Athinoula Hotel last year. When we arrived at the Zeus we were disappointed as the bar was very noisy and the reception staff not very welcoming. On arriving for breakfast (beside the pool) the following morning we were surprised to see that all the sunbeds had been reserved, which turned out to be a good thing for us. The beds were so close together you could touch the person next to you. The lady behind the breakfast counter was so miserable. Breakfast was disappointing - we did not expect full english but when you are told orange juice you expect that, not the orange squash we were offered. You helped yourself to breakfast and were expected to clear your plates away. Each night we had to make our own beds as the maid took the sheets off the beds and folded them up, leaving them on the bottom of the bed. One day my isband cut himself shaving and got blood on the towel. The maid took the dirty towel away but did not leave a clean one. There was rarely staff on the reception area so we were unable to get a clean towel until much later than needed I wish we had gone self catering as I seemed to be doing everything I thought I had paid for. On the plus side, we found a wonderful pool at the Ionikos Hotel just over the road and down towards the beach (about 5 mins walk). The staff werre very friendly and welcoming. Great place to eat - Taverna Kampos - it is a little walk but well worth it. We were a family of 4 having a main course each, bottle of wine, glass of cider and a soft drink followed by dessert which was usually free of charge along with the second round of drinks and the total bill was usually not much more than 30EUR. On our last night the staff gave us a bottle of wine and a half bottle of ouzo. We were so sad to leave. Another great thing about here was that everything on the menu was available in children's portion so they did not have to live off pizza and chicken nuggets for the duration! I would not go back to Hotel Zeus but we have been offered self catering apartments at the Taverna Kampos and are considering returning there next year."

The hotel Zeus is a lovely hotel for you...
"The hotel Zeus is a lovely hotel for young couples and families. The family run hotel is very friendly and very clean and comfortable. The only thing I can fault is the noisey bar which went on well into the early hours and the banging of the doors in the corridors. I didnt get much sleep as my room was not far from the reception and bar area. If you like to party into the night then you wont be dissapointed."
