Blue Lagoon Village, Kefalos 2014.... Amazing and so relaxing!!!!

"We travelled to the Blue Lagoon Village last September. 2 Adults and 2 children (age 9 and 6). Being only a 15 minute bus journey it was great. Upon arrival we were greeted with a glass of bubbly and orange juice for the children. Check in was easy and we were taken to our room on a chauffered golf buggy, which was really nice instead of lugging your luggage around after a 4 1/2 hour flight.

The room was fantastic! We had a Double Family Room. This comprised of a entrance hallway (which was as big as a room), this is where the floor to ceiling wardrobes were, plenty of space for hanging your clothes and also lots of shelves and we put our 4 large suitcases in here out of the way. It also had a free safe inside the wardrobe. The childrens bedroom was off of the hallway and comprised of 2 single beds, a sofa/bed, a desk with a large tv on, bedside tables. It also had patio doors leading out onto the terrace. The bathroom was lovely, clean, completely tiled for a luxurious feel with a bath, seperate waterfall shower cubicle and a toilet, a very large sink and mirror and also a hairdryer! There were also 2 thick white bathrobes for the adults and white slippers. All towels/bathmats were provided.
The main bedroom was off the hallway too, this comprised of a kingsize bed, bedside tables, a chair, a desk unit with mirror above, a large tv, tea/coffee making facilities etc. There was also a fridge which contained some water and milk cartons. There was a patio door also leading out to the terrace. All the bedding was pristine white egyptian cotton and the beds were comfortable. Both bedrooms had independant air conditioning units.

The food was amazing, all well cooked and hot. The main restaurant has 3 sections to pick food from, and you could always get a table. The waiters and waitresses attended to your drink orders and cleared away the plates etc. They were all very courteous. You could eat outside on the terrace if you preferred. There was also a small section off to the side where couples only could sit. The other restaurants were the Greek, Italian, BBQ, First Date (Adults Only) and a Fish restaurant. These needed pre booking. All excellent, but the Chinese was our favourite!!

Food beside the pool was great as well. The kids loved the freshly cooked waffles and crepes all day and also ice creams and cakes were available. There was fresh baguettes available near the pool and also down at the waterpark. We loved the fact that there were plenty of sun beds and parasols available and also that the waiter/waitresses would regularly walk around the pool asking if you would like another drink!

In the evening there was evening entertainment provided by both the Thomson team, who were amazing and lots of fun, involving the audience at any opportunity! After that, normally about 9.30 the Puravida Proffesional Team would come on and do a show. They were very good, however we would have preferred to see a variety of different acts every night. That was the only thing that was slightly disappointing.

Free pool towels are provided from a room near the kids pool, you simply return at the end of the day and are given your tokens which you hand in the next day to get fresh towels. A laundry service is also available.

There were kids clubs and a creche but as the kids didnt go in these I cannot comment on how good they were.

There was a little chapel if you wish to pray.

There was a small shop and off license shop opposite. There was also a room with 6 or 7 computers which you could pay to use the internet. A couple of arcade machines and a couple of table tennis tables.

Golf buggies pull up near the shop if you wish to be taken to the waterpark, tennis courts, football pitch or the high ropes course (similar to Go Ape in the UK).

The beach has nice sand but getting into the water without wearing your wet shoes is a bit tricky! Its very rocky and is slippery. They do have sandbag jetty's to walk on but still a bit tricky! Having said that the water is so warm! They do have a surf shack down on the beach were you can pay to go surfing, pedaling, parascending and ,jet ski.

There is a gym, sauna, jacuzzi, indoor pool and you can also pay for therapies such as facials, massage etc.

You can do yoga also at a place on the beach overlooking the sea, fantastic.

Another amazing thing were the cabanas which you could hire for 25E a day. Well worth it, it gave you more privacy as you could pull the curtains around all sides, they had loungers, tables and sofas in. The waiters would also come round the cabanas asking if you wanted drinks and would bring you a platter of fruit (nice touch!).

Fantastic place, never have we gone home as relaxed as here, we're back there this September again, can't wait!!
