"after reading some other reviews i was very concerned about what was awaiting me on arrival however i was pleasently suprised. the reception staff were extremly helpful and able to assist with any of your needs 24hours a day (however there was sometimes a wait at busy periods) but was easily avoidable by calling them or going at a different time.
resturant was very busy at "peak" times but if you ate earlier about 7 730ish or around 845 there was not a queue. lunch baskets are something to be desired if you enjoy a bread roll apple bottle of water and a piece of cake and egg to share then u are in for a real treat (this was the only downside to the food. chinese resturant was amazing went twice during our stay cannot fault it at all. pool area clean and you do not have to get up at the crack of dawn to get a good sunbed. animations team very basic but very hard working will encourage all to join in(kate and johnson very enthusastic). beach not ideal as it had shingles/pebbles but pedalos are a must to borrow for a hour or too.
bar staff very helpful and friendly. blue domes next door has a fab spa pool and do exellent treatments for good prices.
cardiac hill that other reveiws mention i did not find at all yes the resort is based on a mountain side but not to the extent other reviews make it out to be.
dimitris the bell boy very friendly and helpful
you also have use of the hotel in kos town which was fantastic very nice and you get treated like everyone else there lovely resturant and pool area
overall this was a fantastic holiday and i would return again "

To sum up,if you like to have your holiday arranged , this is the place for you,as there are plenty of family activities to involve yourselves with, but if you like the peace and quiet sit on the huge hill behind the complex(if fit)."

"Forget all those negative reviews, go and have a great holiday.Third time at Norida and it was just as good.Food and drink-great choice including Gordons gin and Grants whiskey. Did read that they were putting all the English up the steep hill so we did e.mail and ask for the main building and got more than we had wished for with sea/pool view. There were plenty of English people the week we stayed. The only negative i have is the miserable bar man on the beach bar who definatly preferred the germans to English and was nasty and rude every time i went for a drink. We nearly didn't book but glad we did had a lovely relaxing week. Go and enjoy.

The food was great and I had 2 fussy eaters in my company who put a few pounds on during the week. The staff were frendly and helpful. The pools were clean. Best of all was the animation team. Hello to Holly, Anya, Fatti and Hallelijah to Anise. They worked extremeley hard both day and night. The entertainment team made our holiday because they are great individuals who love there jobs and made us so welcome."

You make your own mind up

"Having read very contradictory reviews of this hotel before travelling, my family were open-minded about what we would receive by way of a holiday. On returning yesterday, we felt that others should be able to read facts, not opinions, about this hotel and make up their own minds about its standard using the following information.
At time of writing, much of this hotel is a building site. To be fair, the noise and inconvenience caused by this work was not substantial. The complex comprises a huge area of 3 hotels, all of which interconnect. The Mitsis Group shows details of 10 hotels throughouit the Aegean in the foyer, all of which are described by them as being 4 or 5 star. This one is labelled by them as a 5 star, and our holiday was purchased on that basis.
The Norida Beach is situated at an extremely windy end of the bay, so that in our room it was necessary always to use a towel rolled up against the base of the door to prevent the constant noise of the gales that blew every night. This wind was so strong that on one occasion, it actually burst the balcony windows open in the early hours of the morning.
The room itself was clean. However, the door had a large crack where it had been slammed contantly by the force of the wind. No effort had been made to repair this. The bathroom was sparse. The shower curtain was old and dirty, and its rail fell from the wall. Although a shower unit was affixed to the bath taps, it could not be used as such as no bracket had ever been attached to the wall. It was therefore only possible to take a bath in this hot climate. Any water spilled on the bathroom floor failed to drain away. No extractor fan was fitted. I have seen photos published in other reviews of the beds. They are correct. These comprise painted concrete blocks set as a low square, crossed by rough-hewn wooden slats on which are placed a spring interior mattress. Some of the slats held upward-facing nails. The white plasic surrond to the plasterboard near the fridge had long been ripped off. Although it was stated on the website that fresh fruit would be provided in the room every day, in fact this only happened once. The 'Norida Beach Music System' did not work.
The occupants of all the hotels seemed to eat in the Norida Beach restaurant. As this is self service in nature, the large number of guests all attempting to be fed at the same time made it vital to 'arrive early'. The lack of any system in place for service meant that generally, hot food obtained was cold by the time the guest had returned to their table. The staff in the restaurant were pleasant and helpful. In the 'outside' dining area, open to the elements and the wind, house martins had made their nests under the eaves. Some guests might find the mess made by these birds distressing. Loud music played constantly during mealtimes, makng conversation next to impossible. The alternative Chinese meal that could be taken in a small restaurant elsewhere in the complex was pleasant and enjoyable.
Ours was a family holiday, with two 12 year old girls to entertain. At this hotel, the beach and sea are easily accessible. Although on some days the beach had to be abandoned because of the strength of the wind providing a feeling of the body being 'sandblasted', the sea was very clear and pleasant to bathe in. However, for some reason, the hotel chooses to pump seawater many feet higher to fill both the two main swimming pools. This makes the water in these pools brackish, and even more salty than that in the sea. Also, presumably because of the non-use of chemical cleansers, neither of these pools was clear underwater, nor was it possible to see the bottom of either easily. Having suffered stomach upsets following swimming in these pools, they were not used any further by the family, thus removing a resource from our entertainment.
On seeing that the hotel had two tennis courts, my daughters had been excited - they are both keen players. They were persuaded not to take their own rackets and balls, as the hotel site stated that 'equipment would be provided'. The rackets supplied were far past their best, and lacked proper handles, their shafts being held together with insulating tape. Tennis balls supplied had to be checked on each occasion, as very often they were 'dead'. On one occasion, my daughters played an hours' tennis using only one ball. The tennis courts are not level, and have large cracks that have to be avoided in places. Nevertheless, two girls managed to enjoy this sport.
The Norida Beach is some way from any other place, although a courtesy bus does run to Kardamena, a small harbour town.
We did not sample the hotel night-time entertainment, but were able to hear much of it even when in bed as the roof to the disco area is removed at night (in a simular manner to Central Court at Wimbledon). I presume that this is to release heat, but it also releases a lot of noise until the early hours of the morninig.
My family and I have stayed in many hotels around Europe over a number of years, some of the highest standards. We have had a satisfying and restful holiday at the Norida Beach Hotel this year. However, please take into account what is described above before you decide whether you will be staying in 5 star accomodation, as claimed by the proprietors. What is said above is factual, and nowhere have I expressed an opinion.
I leave the reader to decide what that might be."

"What a holiday! I went to norida beach hotel in july 08. The hotel staff were amazing
The food was also amazing and the shows they had were great
We were lucky, our appatment was about a 2 min walk from the hotel and the good bit was that we opened our front door and right there infront of us was a massive pool.
I rated this holiday 8 out of 10 because two out of three pools were salt.
On the fourth night i felt sick. I saw a man throwing buckets of salt into both pools terrible. The third pool was good it had 3 water slides and it was not salt water.
If you like relaxing this is a brilliant holiday for you , but about twice a day a man called chico dresses up as spiderman and chases children acros the beach.

This is a very good holiday oh and you even get a mini fridge full of coke and every day a maid changes the beds and fills your fridge up again and again."

"Can't understand the bad reviews for this place, sure they must have stayed somewhere else. We arrived around midnight and the staff on reception ouldn't have been more helpful, within minutes of checking in a young man arrived in aminibus, loaded our luggage and took us up the hill to our room, then helped us take the luggage in. Our room was spotless, good size bathroom, great shower, our 2 girls had their own room just off the the main bit of ours. Only downfall is that the only wardrobes and drawers where in this room and there where just a few coat hangers, but this is the only negative thing i have to say. As it was dark when we arrived it was great to wake up and see the view we had from our balcony next morning, across the sea towards nissyross( if you get chance go on the trip over to Nissyros - super day out) It was our 1st time All Inclusive and we where expecting a mad rush for breakfast, but to be honest they have it all well organised with a girl at the door checking if you want to eat inside or outside (if you sit outside you tend to wait longer o be seated) then they have other members of staff who rush about like bees escorting you to a free table. So much choice I don't think anyone would have gone hungry. The same set up at lunch and dinnertime, you must be covered up at mealtimes so you can't pop in whilst still in swimwear, but we found that a kaftan/cover up type thing was fine for ladies, gents must put a t shirt on and in the evening gents must wear long trousers/jeans etc no shorts allowed. Again lots of choice at lunch and dinner, food was excellent.
Beach is shingle but as long as you have a sturdy pair of flip flops/beach shoes you won't have a problem and as there is no sand you aren't fishing it out of places for weeks to come!!! Yes the sea does get deep quickly but as long as you keep an eye on the little ones can't see a problem. Great little beach bar too.
Kids animacion team worked so hard, our 2 girls (9 & 4) loved it they went to the afternoon session 3pm -5pm which gave us a chance to sit in the sun without the need to keep an eye on them. the main pool was quite busy and we tended to sit by the waterpark in the moring whilst the girls splashed about, or if you can get a bed there is a tiny kids pool behind the kids club, this was almost like having your own pool although it is only about 2ft deep.
Evening entertainment was not too bad, tended to be Italian themed by main bar then international over in the theatre by the waterpark. they all worked so hard, yes they mimed to some of the songs, but at the end of the day you haven't paid to see a west end show so not a problem.
The reception/lobby area has loads of comfy sofas which are great if you just want to chill, or have a quiet drink in the evening.
Didn't think much of Kardamena itself very dusty, almost ramshackle and very quiet although we did only pop for an hour or so one evening, we went on the 6pm bus from hotel and came back on the 8pm bus ready for dinner, the bus is free and goes a few times through the day just need a ticket from reception. The hotel is in the middle of no where but as we where all inclusive it wasn't that big a deal, different if you want to walk out each evening to eat or drink.

All in all this was a superb holiday and we will definately return, have no problem in reccomending it to friends, infact my parents are going in September."

"We were v. suprised on arrival to be told that we had to wait for a minibus to take us to our room. We waited 30 mins and then were driven up a v. steep hill to our accomadation. Our room was v. basic, but we had superb views. I could not in all honesty say that this was 5star accomodation. 3star would be a better rating. However, our room was very clean and we had lovely thick white towels in the bathroom. As we were a long way from the main hotel it meant that we had remember to bring everything that we wanted for the day with us (there was no going back - long uphill walk).

The food was was very good and plentiful. The staff very helpful. Great not having to worry about paying for drinks etc.

Downside:- you could be anywhere. The beach was gravel and hard on the feet and the sea became very deep very quickly (not suitable for small children). There were many sunbeds, but they were not comfortable and you had the usual thing of having to grab one early. No entertainment for adults in the evening, luckily we met nice people and spent enjoyable evenings in the Adult Only bar.

Kardemena town was deserted during the day and we found the cost of eating out very expensive - we were pleased, therefore, that we were fully inclusive at the Norida Beach, as we could not have afforded to eat and drink as we did there.

Pleasant holiday.
