Kardamena July 2011
"We stayed in the Cleopatra Classic for 2 weeks and we loved it!! The staff were really nice and helpful and very friendly, the rooms were very clean and you got fresh towels everyday. The food from the snack bar was really good and the menu had a large selection. Our stay included continental breakfast which we managed to get up for a few times. There wasn't a big range to choose from but the toast and coffee was enough for us. The hotel was just a 5 minute walk to the sea front where most restaurants are and a 10 minute walk to the square and bar street. The beach was only a 10 minute walk away so the hotel is in the perfect location. We would definately stay here again and would recommend this hotel."

Good For a Week But Not For 2!!!
" This was my first hoilday aboard and didnt know what to expect, on arrival the hotel was spotless and the staff were great, but has the week went on things start to change ( sound like a horror story). firstly i went with my boyfriend and four of our friends, we booked the hoilday expecting to have rooms next to each other. but on arrival it turnt out we was all on different floors!! which was fine just abit of an inconviences really. the only other thing that really did wind me up was that the cleaner just enters you room at 8:30 in the morning which is not so good when you have been out on the drink the night before, or are in a romantic mood!!! other than that the staff are lovely and the hotel was great espically for young people such as myself and friends. the surrounding are great and the clubs are mad and the greek are very friendly. but iam glad i only stayed for one week as by the end of the week i found that i didnt have much to do, as i had done it all on the first couple of days - such as scuba diving, water parks, clubs, pubs and resturants a great place to travel to for your first hoilday aboard "

fab holiday staff and hotel brill
"Mr and Mrs Marshall We were booked into another hotel which was terrible therfore we decided to leave and booked ourselves into the Cleopatra Classic Hotel. The room was in the self catering block which was lovely, clean and recently modernised. We were delighted with the standard of accomodation and the friendliness of the staff. The hotel is in a quiet area but close to all amenities. We lazed about the pool most days which was well maintained and cleaned regularly, with a bar serving drinks and good snacks reasonably priced. My daughter loved the hotel and staff were extremely nice to her so much so she is desperate for us to return. The bus forgot to pick us up for our return journey and Stavros the night Manager phoned the owner who quickly came in his car and took us to the airport which we couldn't thank him enough for. This was above and beyond customer service. Most guests in the hotel were frequent visitors who came back year after year due to the friendliness of the staff. All were lovely without exception, the two girls on reception, Managers and bar staff they helped make a wonderfull holiday out of a starting disaster. We will go back to this hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone. "

"kardemena/cleopatra superior stayed at the cleopatra for 2 weeks, cannot fault the hotel what so ever, it was absolutly spotless, the staff were very friendly, especially george, who was working night shift on reception when we were there. He taught us quite a bit of greek, such a lovely person. We never really stayed in the hotel much, as kardemena has so much to offer, we've been abroad quite a few times, but found kardemena the best place ever, and will be definatly returning. We did go late in the season so places were closing down, but we managed to find a great couple of bars, The main one has to be cocomo's, with fantastic views over looking the sea day or night, you just can't beat the home made english cooking by Kim (even jeffs partial to a good bacon sarnie) they are so friendly and down to earth its like you've known them years, you can also meet Vic (also known as jimmy saville). the barmy army leader of the english cricket team, he's such a lovely man aswell can't wait to go back there. Greggs bar is just by cocomo's, theres a lovely little english chef called pete, he's always up for a laugh, weve only known these people for two weeks, but felt we had known them forever, we did not want to come home (would'nt have done if we never had kids and grandkids)see you all soon ..........."

"This hotel was ok but not fantastic. Donât be deceived by the website which states that this is newly refurbished - as only the 1st and 3rd floors of the hotel have. We were of course put on the 2nd floor and found the room to be very basic and relatively clean. However the bathroom was very small and the drainage system wasnât the best! All of the websites say that the manager is a legend - I did not find this. Kardamena overall is an absolutely amazing place to go - highly recommend the castle bar as George and Bessy are the nicest people you could wish to meet and their cocktails are fabulous! Overall brilliant holiday but would definitely stay at the superior hotel rather than the classic."

The most shocking place I have ever stay...
"The most shocking place I have ever stayed in! When we arrived to our room the floor was dirty, there was still rubbish on the balcony, one of the beds was broken, the shower didnât work and there was the most awful smell. Now we're not at all fussy but to anyone this was totally unacceptable. Asked at reception to be moved to another room, she took a cleaner to the room with us and asked us to point out what was quite obviously wrong with the room. After a long conversation with each other, in their language, which was extremely rude, we were moved to another room. To be honest this wasnât much better but at least the shower worked! At the end of our holiday a cleaner complained we had 'stained' one of the pillow cases in our room with a tattoo. Neither of us had a henna tattoo or similar so we explained this couldnât be possible. Asking to see this pillow case, they conveniently didnât have it but still said we had to pay 10 euros to replace it! After some argument they agreed to see if they could find it again to show us, incidentally they never found it and we werenât charged. There were several other couples at the hotel when we were and one girl sat in reception crying because of the state of the hotel and its rooms and many were complaining over breakfast over the poor facilities. Stavros is lovely and thereâs something so funny about a huge guy serving you breakfast with little cups and saucers and pots of milk etc. Breakfast was very limited but what you get is ok. The pool area is quite small but not too bad for the size and standard of the hotel but as always you can never get a sun bed so we didnât stay round there much. The area of Kardamena you are in is fantastic if you're with a group of friends as it has everything very close to it, however going as a couple not quite as great. Groups of young people getting drunk every night and being hounded outside every single bar and restaurant, can get irritating. The lazy day they offer we didnât think was worth the money and was, personally, a waste of a day. The boat was overcrowded and quite uncomfortable and being hounded to have photos taken and then paying 9 euros for them wasnât exactly relaxing! Mosquito repellent is a must, especially in the rooms as night when you might want to leave the balcony doors open cos it gets really hot, and nappy sacks are a good idea to prevent the bathroom smelling anymore than it actually does. Overall Kardamena is a good place to visit and thereâs loads to see and do, but stay at the Cleopatra superior, itâs so much nicer. One week wasn't enough!
"Myself and 5 friends, all male and in our early 20's stayed in the cleopatra hotel. We were all after the drunken nights that Kardamena has to offer, but also wanted to be away from the 18-30's madness during the early hours when the night was over and during the daytime. This Hotel was perfect for us... on arrival, we were split up into 3 rooms on different floors, and when we tried to get our rooms changed so we were together, Stavros promptly told us that it is a peacefull hotel, and no noise was going to be tolerated.... This suited us down to the ground... and can say that not once during the week did we hear any noise during the nights. The hotel is situated about 5mins stroll from the beach and the first few quiter restaurants and bars, and a 10min walk from the main bar street and clubs. The hotel is really good, and above standard for Greek hotels.... the rooms were cleaned almost every day which i was really impressed with. All the staff were fantastic, especially Stavros who was always talking to us.. and making coffee for me in the early hours... and maria who works at the pool side bar... again always talking, and getting us with ice everytime she went into the freezer... we did manage to chuck her in the pool on the last day though..... We went between 12th-19th August, and everyone we met staying there were really nice, and its a shame we had to say goodbye. I would actually recommend this hotel to anyone.... however if you are going to kos to get drunk and cause havok, then dont go here as you will not be welcome.... book into an 18-30's hotel."

stavros is wicked
"I and 3 other friends stayed in the hotel last week, had an wicked hols. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming. stavros is wicked, always smiling and making smart remarks, makes great coffee even at 7am when we were coming in from the bars/clubs. his famous saying has to be "quiet as a mouse". The pool is lovely and the food is great, maria behind the bar is very funny and always up for a laugh. rooms are very basic but have everything you need. the hotel is situated about 5 mins from the beach and about 10 mins from the main bar street and all the resturants. i would reccomend this hotel to everyone."

"Had a fantastic holiday in Kardamena, staying at the Cleopatra Classic Hotel. Everyone really friendly, Stavros is a legend! Hotel is in ideal location, close to resort but away from noise! Clean hotel with all that we needed, lovely pool (very, very clean), rooms all had phones and mini bars, beds are comfy, ceiling fans are a life saver of a night time! Take a mozzy-plug in for your room and good quality repellent for your body. Hotel provides two towels each, but they have to last all week. Safety deposit boxes in the hotel, and the hotels exchange rate was better than the agents in town. Advise you take a loo roll from home and some scented nappy sacks for disposing of your toilet paper (not allowed to flush the paper). The resort of Kardamena is fab, something for everyone! If you donât want loud and drunken British teenagers avoid July and August, the resort is much nicer in May, early June and mid September. Bar street is an experience, loads of people trying to get you to go into their bar, just go with it, I was grumpy with them at first, but if you get chatting they are a nice bunch and we got on very well with the guys at Buddies Bar - top bar that one! We also liked Ultramarine. As for restaurants - well we both put on a stone! Aramis was our favourite, followed by Nemos. We also liked the setting of Avli, but didnât find the food quite as nice as we had expected. Donât bother with Amazon, we went there once and it was ok, but after we ate somewhere else we never wanted to bother with Amazon again, its not that great, and not as cheap as it sounds! For snacks we recommend Tasty Corner. For day trips we thoroughly recommend the trip to the volcanic island of Nissyros. DONT book the cheaper trip as all that does is get you to the island, and you then have to pay to get the coach to the crater. We paid 5 euro more each and got a fully inclusive guided tour of the island, and the crater. Mike (our tour guide) was excellent, and we got far more out of our trip than the people who just paid for the boat and coach. Make sure you wear trainers or shoes, its VERY hot in the crater, and you have to scramble up a slippery path, not for those with walking difficulties. The 4 bay cruise was a lovely day out, we went on the princess Efi, nice BBQ on board, went diving off the boat, jet ski'd at bubble beach, and visited another bay. We also used the Princess Efi for the sunset cruise - very romantic trip - take a jacket though, gets cold. Got the local bus into Kos town for 2.30 euro - take a map, and we wished we had taken a proper tour of the town. We got the green train up to the Asklepion - amazing place, you have to pay to get in, but worth it! Again this isnât for those with walking difficulties. Do the Greek night in Zia - beautiful place to eat - food was in a buffet and was fab! Free wine and fruit juice, entertainment brill, whole night including coach was 54euro for two of us. You can watch the most beautiful sunset from up there too. The only down side to Kardamena is the kids at night that come out and try to force you to buy their bangles - I hated it, but was always firm and said no! If none of us buy from them, then their parents wouldnât send them out on the street at night, there was 6-7 year olds out on their own in a busy bar area! If you do buy from them donât expect to see your change! We loved the hotel and the resort so much we are booking to go back next year - this time though we will take the kids!"

"Hi, my friend & i stayed at this hotel for a week in May 2006 & the staff where very helpfull- Stamas (Stamp) who normally covers the pool bar area is very sweet- but watch out because sometimes he comes round with a massive water gun & squirts everyone with ice cold water while there sunbathing- even if there sleeping! The rooms are nice & have everything you need apart from there was only one TV channel to watch & whenever you get a shower the whole bathroom floor gets soaked as there is no shower basin to hold the water in. All the rooms have minature fridges & air con which isn't too noisy. The breakfast was a little disapointing i must admit. There was only white bread that you had to toast yourself. A selection of 3 jams, tea, coffe, chocolate cake! yes for some reason they think people want to eat choclate cake & chocolate biscuits for breakfast !?? There was also some coco-pops cereal & some grapfruit juice that tasted like pure sugar lol. The only nice thing they offered was the peach slices & coffee....but maybe im being too picky! They have the internet to use for a small charge & the food you can order around the pool area is good value for money. They sold baguetes, chicken, omletts, burgers, chips etc. There are trips to Bodrum-Turkey every Tuesday from Kos Town Harbour that are great for shopping. I would ask each boat for a proce first & get the best deal. We also booked a boat trip from travel agents which was brilliant value for money that included 3 stops & a gorgeous BBQ & wine."
