loved the Villa Renos
"The Travel Agent was correct, it had the most magificent view, sunset, sunset. The room was perfect and we had a hot tub on our balcony. It was just like it looks on the webpage, only the scenery was 100 times better as we were there....... The rooms are clean and spacious. The family that own the Villas (thank you Petros and Bill) are wonderful and nothing is a bother. The home cooked breakfast is to die for (especially the honey balls). I would recommend this hotel 100%. Thank you again for making our stay so perfect. We are only young (aged in our mid 50's). Thanks again Chris & Gordon (May 2007)"

The Absolute Best on Santorini.
"We just returned from our second stay at Villa Renos (six nights), the first being in 2005. What a fabulous experience we had - again! If you want to really experience the best of Santorini, this family-run villa is the place to stay. Petros, Zina, and son, Vassilis, are the most honest, genuine, and generous of hosts. Get your reservations in early. You will not be disappointed. We met international guests who have been returning each year for 25 years! From the fabulous breakfast with fresh items they grow themselves, to the amazing panoramic views of the caldera from your terrace, to the sound-proofed rooms (very important since pumice cliffs amplify everything), to the depth of knowledge they share about the island, Villa Renos is one of the best reasons to come to Santorini in the first place. And it's more central to everything: the museums, shops, excavation site, fabulous beaches to the south, traditional villages in the center, the wineries, the mountain-top monastery, the volcano. The bus terminal is only a three-minute walk away, or you can have a rental car or taxi delivered if you prefer. Some people like to stay in the village of Oia to the north. It is beautiful there, but distant from everything else. Villa Renos gives you the unbeatable combination of location and hospitality. The best recommendation we can give is that we hope to come back, many times."

HDTV - breakfast: absolutely incredible everything about villa renos is truly exceptional and the service is beyond compare. Petros, Zina and Vasilis are passionately committed to customer service. requests for wine were rewarded with a very nice selection at reasonable pricing. our party of six took 3 rooms (all different & very comfortable) we vary in age from 17 to 61. we all loved our experience at villa renos."

Fantastic Family Holiday
"We have been to Santorini 4 times and stayed at the Villa Renos Hotel the last 2 times. It has truely been the best time we have had in all of out overseas hoildays. The hotel is run by the Matekas family and they are just the most hospitable people you could ever wish to meet. In May last year (2005) I took my adult family to Santorini for 8 days and all remember it as the best holiday they have ever had. It truely commands the best views over the Caldera and is so centrally located. We have recommended the Villa Renos to so many of our friends and all had such a fantastic time. The Santorini people are just so friendly and no more so than Petros,Zina and Vasilis the hotels owners. It is a place you will not want to leave. Once you have stayed at this fantastic hotel you will want to return, again and again. There is no better place. Mike and Ruth Raselli Australia"

"Right after I booked a room at Villa Renos, I emailed them to find out if I could arrange something nice for my wife since this was our first stop on our Greek Island Honeymoon. Getting to Villa Renos: Vassilis was very quick with suggestions and always promptly replied to any clarifications I had. After many prompt email exchanges, he arranged for flowers and a bottle of chilled white wine in the room, all waiting for us when we arrived. Vassilis also arranged a taxi pick up for us at the airport. Once we got to the hotel he came out to greet us and helped us with our luggage. Ohhh yea and he also made dinner reservations for us!! The room: The room had a breathtaking view and the bathroom was magnificant. It had elegant fixtures, a marble (?) vanity and a decent sized mirror. The shower and bathtub worked perfectly throught our stay. The breakfast, which was included in our stay, was magnificant. It was home made...honey balls, tomato balls (these were to die for) and delicious yogurt. Vassilis and his parents always greeted us with a smile and were very helpful, offering tips and suggestions to make our stay enjoyable. It was truly a great experience. I would change nothing!"

A 5 star family hotel!
"Comfortable and fully equipped rooms, fantastic home made breakfast (everything comes from the owners' farm) and the best view of Santorini. But what makes Villa Renos unique is the family that runs it. They will make you feel at home and help you in everything you may need. A luxury 5 star family hotel overlooking one of the best wonders of nature on this planet. What more can a holidaymaker ask? And all this comes at a reasonable price! Me and my wife have been going there for the last 3 years and plan to return there every year. I have never written a review for a hotel before, but I think Villa Renos deserves it."

Our yearly "honey-moon" treat !
"We stay at the Villa-Renos every summer for a short "honey-moon-without-the-kids" and enjoy the magical sunset of Santorini from the veranda of this lovely "boutique" hotel with a glass of cool white Santorini wine! The warmth and 1st class service of the hosts -Petros, Zina and Vasilis Matekas- can only be matched with the breath-taking view. The breakfast is unique and will not interest the conventional breakfast eater who is used to powdered eggs: the Santorini sweet tomatoes come from Petro´s garden, the orange-juice is freshly-squeezed, the marmelades are home-made by Zina and so is the crusty cheese-pie! Vasilis will arrange the perfect stay for you with professionalism, a genuine smile and a good sense of humour. The rooms leave nothing to be desired and this place is DEFINITELY worth the visit !"

best customer service in santorini
"We stayed at villa renos late august after getting switched from porta fira due to overbooking. i can't even begin to describe how much better villa renos is. although their website is not as up to date (they said they are working on it) the hotel and the service is well worth the price. it's a very clean place, recently renovated from top to bottom, with nice marble top bathrooms. the hotel is in the center of fira, right on the caldera. the view from our balcony was breathtaking. everything you would imagine! the balconies were super spacious- we were out there all day reading and relaxing. they give you slippers and chocolates too! the wife of the owner makes this amazing homemade greek breakfast-which is part of the family feel that helps to distinguish itself. overall it was definately on par with our US standards (Billy, the owners son, was US educated and trained in the hotel business and has clearly implemented higher standards and the little touches one would expect.as far as what you should get for the amount you are spending. and one last thing- the restaurant across from the hotel called archepelagos is the best! we ate there 3 times out of the 5 days we were there! amazing! without vila renos, our trip to santorini would not have been complete. we've been telling all of our friends to stay here. thank you billy and family!!"

The best hotel, in my opinion!
"Villa Renos is the place to stay if you go to Santorini. It is in the Fira side of the island, at a great location, and the view from any balcony is amazing. The tradional Greek breakfast is really good. The owners of the place will go out of there way to try to make your stay the best experience. The big 5 star hotels up the street will not give you the views of Villa Renos."
