"Me and my friend went to Malia last year for the first time, we loved Malia and we also loved Maria Rousse Studios, the staff were very nice and it was very close to local shops and bars for an amazing night out! The room was small but sweet and had pretty mush all we needed, it was clean. The staff at Maria Rousse were a very helpful and friendly team, with the nightguard to provide safety and a little side of fun when you got talking to him! I want to come back to this place thats how much we loved it."

"Me and my girfriend have just returned from the Maria Rousse in Malia and had a lovely relaxing stay there. The location is perfect; 5-10 mins walk to the strip, which is adequate distance to get some peace and quiet at the hotel, 10-15 mins walk to the beach, but the hotel has everything and we rarely ventured out. The hotel had a good mixture of guests, ranging from couples to families and small groups of lads and girls. Food is nice and is priced like most other outlets in Malia, around 4-5 euros for a snack and 6-9 euros for a meal. Drinks are fairly priced but not cheap; 3 euros for a pint of beer but spirits and cocktails are 4-6 euros. Air-con is a must and is 40 euros for the week, and they charge 25 euros to extend your check-out if you have a late flight (handy but not very fair considering we arrived at midnight on our first day). The room is just right for the price, and has everything you need for self-catering, and even has free wi-fi. The staff are friendly and the hotel is very clean, although they only changed our towels once in a week and only provide one toilet roll. I was well impressed with the hotel both on cleanliness, mixture of guests and location. I'd definitely go back!!"

Nice hotel near the nightlife but just out of the way for some peace!
"I stayed at the Maria Rousse Sept 2010 with my boyfriend, the apartments are in a good location only few minutes walk to the top of the strip but still out of the way if you wanted a quiet night. The rooms were basic but clean, only downfall was you had to pay for air conditioning and they only provided you with one toilet roll! The pool and bar area were nice and the staff were all very friendly, the food at the pool bar was lovely, drinks were abit pricey though. It is quite a walk to the beach so only went there a couple of days, overall was a fab holiday :-)"

Nice Hotel, Strict Staff!!
"Maria Rousse, quite a small complex but very clean, The pool isnt very big and can get quite crowded, but you can still sunbathe on a lilo quite easily. The rooms were plain and clean, I was very impressed with the cleaners, they were very good and came every other day. There are computers, for internet access which i found to be very helpful to use up our time whilst waiting to go to the airport on our last night. The food wasnt brilliant, but it wasnt expensive. The drinks are reasonably priced also. All in all i had a great holiday with my 2 girl mates, and the hotel was worth the money we paid, However, considering we were in Malia, the hotel owner and security moaned at us every night!!! we were given a warning on our 3rd night and threatened with eviction if we made any more noise, I found this put a real dampener and a worry on my holiday, I wouldnt mind but we werent even loud!!! We were told off for just sitting chatting in our room. The owner was a complete moaner and to think he has a hotel in Malia (one of the rowdiest and loudest places in greece) is ridiculous. He was far to strict and moaned all the time, he expected silence at night, the complex is for 18 to 30's and he runs it like it should be for pensioners, I would stay at maria rousse again only if they lightened up a bit, as everything else about the place was fine. Best Hotel Ever
"Stayed at this hotel with 11 other lads aged 20/21 in July 2010 for 1 week. Such a nice hotel! George the owner is a legend!! The pool is wicked, the rooms are nice and seemed to cleaned almost every day! The food in the hotel is tasty and reasonably priced. This hotel is located at the top of the strip, literally 4 minute walk away from the start of the bars! There is a shop selling all the essentials for the room; toilet paper, cigarettes, bottles of water, and of course alcohol! Would 100% recommend this hotel to anybody looking to stay in Malia for a lads holiday. We were able to drink on the balcony on our rooms until midnight, and at that point we would head to the strip where the bars would be filling up nicely. So worked out perfectly. Overall, this hotel made our holiday all that more enjoyable. Thanks to all the staff! "

"We arrived back from this holiday yesterday (saturday morning) and overall, we loved this holiday and the hotel we stayed in, it become a home from home.
Hotel was really nice, however the towels and sheets could of been changed more then twice a week, considering while we were there, there was a heatwave!! Apart from that we cant fault the hotel. The Location of the hotel was perfect..if u wanted to party or just wanted to relax. The hotel owners George and Barbara are lovely, they made the holiday a good holiday for us, any problems they would be striaght there trying sort it out or if u needed anything they would try there best to help.
We will defo be booking again to this hotel again soon and would recommend anyone to this hotel, you cant go wrong."

Quality at a budget price
"These immaculate self catering studios located around a good sized pool are about half a mile inland, very convenient for shops and public transport but far enough away from the well known 'clubbing' area of Malia to be a good base for a relaxing poolside or touring holiday. They're skillfully managed to accommodate both the younger set intent on the intensive local nightlife, and family groups or couples wanting a quieter time. Strongly recommended as a good, well maintained, friendly place to stay. (See separate review on Malia as a town to stay in)."

If you want to be close to the strip but slightly out the way....this is the place.
"Me and my sister arranged a holiday june this year. due to being messed around with our original hotel we ended up sourcing out self catering accomidation and found maria studios...
this place is clean, welcoming, so close to the stip of malia but slightley out of the way so if you decide you want an early night you can. 2 min walk in fact...
the owners are lovely and the rooms are bright and cleaned every other day. you have a little shop just opposite the complex but plenty more on the strip.
food/drink prices avarage, but very nice.
you have to buy bottled water from their bar and only drink/eat their stuff around the pool, but this wasn;t so much of a problem as we just went back to the room.
they have a security guard, he is very friendly and is on the look out on you way back after a night out for trouble. this made us feel safe.
the aircon was rather expensive but we didn't bother getting it....
bugs weren't too much of a problem
they have internet, tv, pool table
but all in all, i would defaintly go back here and recomend this place to anyone. after looking and other places on the strip this was luxary, and probably had the biggest pool.
the other hotels were off the back of pubs and had tiny pool, toilets, and looked very run down.
so i vote here!!!! you won't be disapointed"

Amazing first holiday with friends
"We went as a group of three 17 year old girls looking for a fun holiday to let our hair down after exams. We travelled with Olympic who were the only ones who would do it for our age - were extremely helpful in making sure we got to the right place!
The coach pulled up on a random road and we were bit worried as it didnt look like the brochure but then you walk through another road and find the hotel - first sight was the pool and bar which were amazing.
The time we went was late july to early august and the hotel wasn't particularly busy. The owners take your pasports when you get there but just ask for them back when they're done with it. The owners charged for safes(15 euros) and air cons (40 euros a week) but between the 3 of us it was relatively cheap!
Rooms were clean and basic - good size for 3 of us - kitchen space small but you mostly go out to eat. Bar was quite cheap and nice food. Pool was right size (not that crowded) and lots of sunbeds and umbrellas! Wasn't lots of rowdy teenagers which we didn't want and a quite a few families so very friendly and felt really safe. Also the security guard is nice and makes you feel safe at 6 in the morning when coming home from clubs.
There is a spar supermarket just down the road - really big and cheap - so get food from there. The restaurants are all relatively cheap and nice.
BEWARE: gypsy kids steal wallets - dont hug them and stay away! also quad bikes run you over.
The hotel was close to strip but have a 15 min walk to the proper clubs (its a nice walk) and the beach is 25 mins walk. went to the beach once but you have to pay to actually get on the sand so we just stayed by the pool.
Clubs to go to :Zigzag is brilliant but does play the same songs over and over again and Apollo is good too. Our fav bar was Zoo with comfy seats and is partly outside. Drinks are unbelievabely cheap and deals when you're with a few people.
Basically it was the most amazing holiday everrrrrr but dont go if you dont like clubs or drunk teens :D"

Could not have asked for a better hotel!
"I saw brilliant reviews before leaving for The Maria Rousse, and right they where! The hotel owners are lovely! Security guard Michael was amazing! The place was soo clean and well maintained. If u think u will need more toilet paper than one roll, take another, as thats all they will issue you with. It was a ten or fifteen min walk from the beach which cudav been closer but all the hotels near the beach are no where near as nice! My friends stayed at the Vagelis which is on the Malia strip and it was pants compared to where me and two other gf's stayed! All three of us stayed in room 411 which was very spacious considering 3 ppl stayed ther! All the ppl we met ther where great! I will be going back next year. The club rep was a bit wierd thou and will try to entice you on to excursions bu the only one worth doing is the booze cruise. Although i did not enjoy the booze cruise.. as i was prity sober, everyone else on the catermeran did! So if u go on one take your own drink its much cheaper. The location of the Hotel is a two minute walk off of the strip so very close, bu not so close that u have drunks surrounding the hotel the entire night which cudnt have been more perfect. Pool was ALWAYS very clean, no bugs or anything! We spilt a drink on our balcony which attracted ants, the cleaners got straight onto it and we didnt see another bug! Pool bar served lovely food! Fry up for 3euro's 50, so its not even worth staying in and cooking. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMEND THIS HOTEL."

"Highly recommend this hotel. Owners George and Barbara are amazing have a great hotel. Rooms are clean, tidy and basic but have everything you need.
small supermarket just over the road but Spar just round the corner on strip which is bigger. Great location for the strip and not too far a away for the beach. Recommend this hotel for everyone, has something to cater for all.
Definatly planning on going next year. Nicest hotel in Malia."
