"This hotel is a basic, clean 2 star, with very friendly staff.
On check-in we had to sign a document to say that we would be resposible for any breakages etc. during the stay. They also insisted on keeping one of the passports until we were checked out.
A reasonable pool area, but far too many sunbeds in a small space. The pool itself is of a good depth, and was cleaned every day.
The bedrooms were of a good size, but the bathrooms were in need of refurbishment, cracked shower tray, shower curtains too small, the shower head did not fit the wall holder, so every time you had a shower the floor was wet
There was a list of rules and regulations the like of which we have never seen before in any of the hotels we have stayed at.There was also a list of the charges you had to pay if anything in the room was damaged or missing during your stay, this even included staining of towels and bed linen, all at hugely inflated prices.
We were on bed & breakfast and this was continental with a few extras, but it was the same every day, so by the end of 2 weeks we were pretty bored by it. It was possible to buy cooked meals if you chose to.
The bar area was fairly small, but adequate for the number of guests there, and the hotel was pretty full all the time we were there. The food available from the bar was of a good standard and fairly priced in comparison to the outside bars and restaurants.
Every Thursday there was a barbeque and kareoke evening, and a 2 for 1 drinks offer on a Sunday 8 till 1am.
The big drawback for us was that the guests were almost all 16 to 20 year olds, and in big groups of all girls or boys. And a few groups of slightly older groups of men who were drinking nonstop around the pool all day and generally caused a nuisance shouting and swearing and jumping in and out of the pool, also standing in the pool with bottles, throwing balls about. It was impossible to swim. After 2 days of this we went to the beach which was about a 25 minute walk away, and is lovely.
Overall we would not recommend this hotel to anyone over the age of 25, and think that the tour operator ,Thomas Cook, should have made it clearer on their website ."

If I see anyone try and get in...they are DEAD MEAT.
"Overall a pretty average hotel. Two of us stayed for a week, self catering. Rooms are nice size, and we had a great balcony looking over the pool and bar area. Kitchen comes with everything you need apart from theres nothing to wash up with.
We were so worried all holiday about having to pay for our sheets on the beds and towels as we got they dirty. BE WARNED....the cleaners do not change the bed sheets all holiday!!! We had to buy vanish from the shop and wash them ourselves half way through the week. Luckerly even though there were some marks on the towels, sheets, pillows, and shower curtain we didnt have to pay anything!! WOOHOO!
Although we did loose our safe key and had to pay 40 euros for a new one.
DO NOT GET AIR CON!! Ours made no difference, turned itself off when you leave the room, was so noisy so when in the room we didnt want it on, leaked and dripped on us when under it. We complained about it but they said FOR TAX REASONS we do not do refunds!
There are so many rules and regulations!haha its like prison!
GEORGE he is sooooo funny! you have to get chatting to him! We had such a laugh all holiday winding him up. He gets very angry but hes alright really. (WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM!?!)
MALIA IS AMAZING! Although we didnt want to go to Malia (we wanted Ibiza) we got perswaded to go by travel agents but we loved it.
kula/Hula/sorry we didnt work out your name is lovely, thank you for everythin DEAD LOSS!!!!!!!!!!! we had a really good time. BBQ IS REALLY GOOD AT HOTEL.
LOCATION IS EXCELLENT!!!!! oh and go to the princess hotel across the road!! good to go after the clubs have shut for last few drinks and a burger!

"My husband and I stayed here for one week at the beginning of September We really enjoyed it!
Was nervous about going to Malia as we had heard all the hype about the young kids getting drunk etc But we shouldn't have worried Perhaps with hindsight we would have chosen another resort, but we managed to find some lovely places The Old Village is great and the San Georgiou restaurant is a must We found some lovely bars and restaurants away from the main strip and the beach between Malia and Stalis is within easy walking distance and was beautiful
The hotel was lovely The staff - especially Koula, Charlie and Marios were really fab and made our stay very enjoyable The rooms were as expected fairly basic, but the shower was good and powerful and the bed comfortable The cleaners did a good job of cleaning the room everyday and we couldn't fault a thing
Overall we had a brilliant time and whilst we maybe should have picked a different resort, we have nothing but good things to say about the Dedalos!!"

Simply the Best!
"What can I say, I absolutely loved it there and am desperate to return. Me and my friend (29yrs and 25yrs) had an amazing time and have never laughed so much. Booked to return in Oct!
First - May is a great time to go if you are looking for the nightlife but also some chilling out time too. Weather fantastic - highest 33 degrees, lowest 27.
The apartments is off the strip which is great but only 5 min walk (if that). The rooms are basic but very clean and maid service every day except Sunday. You get the usual, kettle, fridge, cooker etc. Our room overlooked the pool which was lovely but you could get woken up by the early morning swimmers! Not a problem though who wants to sleep when you're on hol! The pool is gorgeous and very clean and the layout of the place in my opinion is spot on. Also the food is great and generous portions.
The barman Marios - what a character, sweet, funny and always smiling! - always had a beer waiting for us when we returned from the beach. George the security man - big man with an even bigger heart just don't annoy him! Also Koula and Charlie made us feel very welcome and you feel like part of the family - will miss them all so much!
I could go on and on, Malia is the best and I can't recommend it enough, don't be put off by the reputation - when we were there there was families and couples (young and old) and everyone seemed to have a great time - you will make good friends at the Malia Dedalos - tell Marios and George we said hi!!!!!!!"

Best Holiday Since 2005 Loved It
"My husband and I travelled to the Dedalos for an early summer getaway after booking our main holiday for september, we are both in our 30's but young at heart!!!!!
I have to say the Dedalos is the perfect place to stay if going to Malia it's just off a side road but 1 minute walk from all the night life, however you can't hear any of it once back at the Dedalos.
The best thing about this hotel is that it's very clean, well presented and the staff, Charlie, Marios and Koola were fantastic, very friendly and will go out of their way to help you.
If you are going here I hope you love it as much as we did, we are definatly going back to see Charlie and the crew."

A Haven from the hectic malia scene
"We booked the hotel on a cheap deal after looking on trip advisor. The hotel was clean, friendly and quiet. Excellent and reasonably priced food and drink at the bar. Lovely pool. We would recommend this hotel to couples, singles and families. It was totally away from the hectic hustle and bustle though only a 2 minute walk away. Our flight was during the night so we found extending our room until 7 pm was really valuable and cost us only 24 euro. We would also highly recommend a trip to Water City though definitely do not book through Thailia Travel on the main drag as they tried to rip us off.. Mary, however, at Charlie's travel across the road sorted us out our problem. without charge even though we didn't book through them. Would definitely recommend booking trips from here. A taxi from the Water City was 40 euros back to the hotel and was well worth it as the arranged coach took 11/2 hrs to do a 30 mins trip. Enjoy!"

Charming and intimate
"My husbandand I stayed at the Dedalos as part of a package tour in April. The hotel is beautifully maintained and the staff made us feel like part of the family. Although my 11 year old was the only child at the hotel, he didn't feel out of place. The staff, in particular went out of their way to help us out in any way they could. The grounds of the hotel and its layout is like a cozy, greek village and each room offers privacy without patrons being felt as though they were away from the "action". The hotel itself is just off the main street so the hustle and bustle was somewhat removed. (thankfully) Our stay was wonderful and we're looking forward to returning soon."

"the dedalos hotel was ok, throught the day you couldnt wish to meet nicer people, great atmosphere and relaxed banter with all the staff. however come night time when all the friendly bar staff had gone the only person that was there was george the security man. He was a total prat. he was arrogant, mean and unhelpful. he would interegate me and my group of friends when we returned to our room, this happened every night, ud think after 2 weeks of continuous intreogation he would start to remember us. other than thats its a nice hotel. basic but comfortable. theres no air conditioning but u can rent it. the resort itsself is ok ideal for big groups definatly not for famillies."

"I have just got back from my first girls holiday so I wasn't sure what to expect and after reading the reviews of the dedalos we was quite scared to see what we was going to turn up. When we arrived everyone was so friendly and welcoming, helping us all to out rooms with our suitcases. When we got in to the rooms we was very surprised to see how clean and spacious they was, maids came in to change our beds and towels everyday apart from on the sunday with was understandable. You was allowed music on untill 12 and the security guard who is also very friendly and reasonable was fine with you coming in whatever time you wanted to. The po isn't massive but a reasonable size and the location was probably the best out of all the hotels we went to that week as it was right near the strip but not on therefore couldn't here any music from the bars and the beach was only a 5-10 minute walk if I was to visit malia again I would 100% come back to dedalos definatley worth your money as it is also cheap! Best week of my life "

Group of young lads. MALIA
"Malia dedalos!! the lads first holiday away together and what an experience it was! 1'st of all the hotel is a great environment its perfect for the younger but it does also suit older generation. the staff at the hotel are second to none absolutely perfect.. illios the security guard is great the guy will make sure your sound and well after a crazy night out, geroge great bar man really cool sorts you free drinks, and coola hoola the bar woman me and her got on well shes funny and sorts you out love her!! as for the rest of the hotel its spot on the food is nice, pool is so refreshing for when youve got a dusty hangover and the sun loungers get sun all day !! the room itself inst the best but it has enough space for you and your rommie its pretty cozy. as for everyone complaining about the pricelist for breakages and stuff its the same in every hotel all over malia as its just full of party animals so its there to prevent you from breaking and loosing stuff which you hardly do coz you barley use the room if your a young party animal. only problem we had was that we wrecked one of the bedsheets and we had to pay 40 euro for but it was covered in sick so fair enough! Malia is a great place to take a vaciation if you wanna let loose clubs bars and the stip are amazing luckilly we got to see giggs over there in club candy and every night i enjoyed myself. i advise to anyone acomidationg with dedalos your the younger generation because its full of girls and lads trana do their thing ;) this hotel i wouldnt recomend to famalies as it is for the younger groupies to party and crash its perfectly 2 seconds away from the start of the stip and i recomend when you come out of dedalos for the start of your night you start at the brithish leigion and work your way down have the best time !!! MALIA "
