We'd stay there again!
"My husband & I have stayed at the Saradari apartments twice- in May 1992 & May 2006- and found it very little changed: basic accommodation, clean, with friendly staff. We were surprised by the negative comments as there were no noxious smelling drains during our 2 visits nor did anyone haul us out of bed if we had a lie-in.While the apartments are away from the noise and bustle of the centre of Hersonissos, this was a plus for us (in our early 60s now!).While it is an uphill walk back to the Saradari,if a couch potato like myself could do it, most people would have no problems apart from anyone with health problems which limited their mobility or small children.
We wanted a cheap holiday in the sun, with somewhere reasonably clean to sleep. We got what we paid for and would go again!"

"i went there with a group of mates and from the pictures it looked nice but was different when we arrived the rooms are very small and if you asked for a four person room the forth bed is in the kitchen the place itself it clean but we and some other groups had cases of money going missing luckily i had a laser card and only took out money as i needed it the staff the bar at were very friendly george it the barman/ everything most of the time but he is very nice and gave me great advise and information cleaning staff are horrid jus make sure your up early or she''ll come in to the room and wake you up and kick you out. the pool is clean and the area is nice but a bit far out like dont plan on walking although the is a nice shop and bar 2 mins walk from the place the onwer there is really nice too .... would not go with a family but for students its great for the price"

Don't stay here!! Smelly drains!!
"We booked through Manos. We did find negative feedback but were reassured by Thomas Cook and Manos that no negative feedback had ever been received. I have now learned my lesson! Don't rely on feedback or reviews travel agents or tour operators!
Although there were some positives - The accommodation was clean and towels were changed frequently, although not daily.Quiet location with short walk to nice beach, Staff were friendly and readily available, Could buy a cold beer from the bar, Adequate parking, Lack of view compensated for by palm trees and pink flowers...
The main negative was a nauseating smell of faeces from the drains (!) as if they were partially blocked which filled the whole apartment! (Although water drained/flushed away fine). We assumed that this was a general problem in Crete until we realised that other establishments' toilets did not smell at all.Other negatives included; inefficient air conditioning (very slow, only good enough to cool bedroom (and probably needs servicing), sparce kitchen consisting of sink, 2 hobs, extractor fan (didn't work), no shelving in fridge door, not enough utensils to be able to cook a meal (I expect to encourage guests to use the bar/restaurant), limited hot water (due to solar powered tanks which ran out of hot water quickly), swimming pool looked cloudy, our block faced the block in front.
In short, don't stay here!!"

A little gem
"The service at the Saradari apartments is excellent, Stavros and Elle are very accommodating and the breakfast is great, there is a very relaxed atmosphere by the pool which is ideal for chilling, the apartments are situated in the ideal position for the beach and shopping. The apartments are kept very clean and nice. we're hoping to go back next year "

"If You are looking for a quiet, family run, private place with super-service, this is the place. In the same time, it is very cheap compared to other places in this area. We stayed here for 14 days in July (2 adults + 2 kids) in 1 apartment. It was a small appartment but still comfortable with a very small kitchennette and a balcony with seaview. Nice and clean (cleaning 7 times a week)Clean towels and linnen every 4th day. The kids loved the pool and the beach could be reached within 3 minutes of walking - perfect! Stavros who runs the place is extremely serviceminded - he is ready to help You whenever You need anything - and he makes great small snacks and meals in the pool/snackbar. The poolbar is open from 9:00 and closes when the last guest goes to bed. Barbecue once a week - perfect cooking and more than plenty of meat for everyone. The best and most cozy place we have been in Greece."

"we are a 20 year old couple and were looking for a relaxing holiday but with plenty of things to do within walking distance. the saradari apartments were perfect for us! stavros ran the apartments and was so helpful and would sort out any problems! the pool and bar were perfect for relaxing, you could order food or drinks whenever you wanted. the accommodadion was perfect for a couple but would be a squeeze for 4! we stayed in a second storey apartment and had a view of the sea from our bedroom and balcony! hersonissos centre is about a 10 min walk with plenty of shops bars restaurants etc. there is also a local supermarket and beach very close to the apartments so you dont have to walk into the centre all the time! the apartments are basic but very clean, towels and bedding was changed a couple of times within the week and apartment cleaned nearly every day. if you are looking for luxury you will have to look elsewhere and spend alot more money! we enjoyed hiring a quad bike and visiting the 3 hilltop villages for drinks and dinner! we would definately go back to these apartments!"

"my family and i stayed at the saradari for two weeks and it was one of the best holidays ive had. yes the apartments are compact but is that what you really go on holiday for? The short walk to the beautiful beaches and town, and if desired a short bus ride away is the island at your finger tips.Stavros is the making of the saradari, he made us feel very welcome and the lovely people that we met too!bar food was always available as well as a great atmosphere.the cleaners were very good, every day except sundays.not ideal for kids as there is not much for them to do. really looking forward to our next few holidays there.(definately without the kids!!)surely a must for the more relaxing couple."

"Just come back from Saradari and first think to do was to post my comments. I had a wondrefull time there with my girlfriend, very clean place with a very friendly staff that made our holidays unforgetable. There are some incoviniences of course like the self catering facilities and the area of the room(small for a family but great for a couple) but you are booking a budget holiday and this place its definately worth its money and more. Great food great holidays. definately going back there again!!!"

"The most relaxed and friendliest apartment I have ever been to.
As a group of ten girls this apartment was fantastic for our needs. Yes the kitchen facilities were simple but with such fantastic resteruants in Hersonissos this can be easily overlooked.
The beach is only a short walk away and most days we had the pool to ourselves. The cleaning staff were great and the air con was so strong I had to sleep in a jumper!
This is not the kind of place for rowdy teenagers however. Out of respect for Stavros and the other guests, we ensured that our late night returns were quiet ones. Night life in Hersonissos and Malia is excellent!
Good bar food, well stocked bar, fantastic weather and beautiful setting of a typical greek apartment. We were pleasantly suprised for the price we paid and will definately be going back next year! "

"As it was a late booking we did not expect too much but what a shock very very very very basic. I am glad there was no more than two in our party. In the main room there was a double bed and a single - the double was pushed against a wall so I had to climb over my wife to go to the loo in the night. The fourth bed was in the kitchenette so you could lay in bed and put the kettle on in the morning. The bathroom was so small when you had a shower you washed the toilet at the same time, and when you sat on the toilet you had one foot in the shower tray. The complex was lacking in a little late night entertainment and also some soft furnishing in the bar to sit on. On a good point Stavaros was very friendly and a great (sounds just like "Borat")"
