Honeymoon in Paradise
"We have just returned from our two-week honeymoon at Paradise Island Villas. We really enjoyed our stay, so much so that weâd love to go back again soon. The hotel complex itself is very peaceful, relaxing, and well looked after. There is a bar and restaurant, which we used a lot as it was so good and it suited us to be lazy. The barmen were great guys; particularly a guy called Haris. The food was good and reasonably priced, and they also do great cocktails! They also offer room service during the day. We stayed in 'Artemis' a Senior Villa, which was beautiful, clean and well equipped. The private pool located in the back garden was great, and was one of the main reasons we booked. They also provided a variety of outdoor furniture to use, along with a hammock strung between two palm trees which was a nice touch! There is a daily maid service, and the pool was also cleaned everyday. All the staff were really friendly, and were happy to help whenever needed. They chased our baggage without being asked when the airline lost it on the way over, they left chocolates and champagne for us on arrival, they even arranged a cake and champagne for my birthday - all little things, which made for a great experience. Only drawbacks were the hotel is in a fairly quiet location, so if you want to get out and about you need to get a taxi or a hire car. And the Internet connection was a bit hit and miss at times. Other than that we canât think of anything else! If you do make it into Hersonissos then weâd recommend the bakery right by the taxi rank as it has great cakes! Overall we had a great time and would definitely recommend this place to other couples looking for a peaceful romantic break."

"Paradise Island Villas is beautiful. The villas are beautiful with plenty of space & almost everything you need for a home away from home. We stayed in the "Hera" villa (there were 5 of us) & it has 2 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms upstairs & a bathroom downstairs with a couch that can be used as a bed (although not a sleeper sofa & not the most comfortable to sleep on). The villas have full kitchens & the individual yards have small private pools. There are flat screen TV in the living room, stereo systems, computor (you don't even need your laptop!!). The staff are extremely nice & helpful & everything is spotless. There is a small restaurant & large communal pool. The drawbacks? The location is not convienent (you really need to rent a car)~it is approximately 3/4 mile to the beach, the only restaurant nearby is at the hotel & the food was AWFUL (although not expensive, unlike most of Greece!) & there really is nothing less than 3/4-1 mile away down a black top street with 4 foot high weeds on both sides. When we did ask about a rent a car, the hotel arranged for one for us immediately & it was about 10 minutes by car to "Star Beach" which is a beach, free public pool, restaurants, shops, water park, etc, etc. We would definately stay at Paradise Island Villas again if we were to return to Crete!"

"We have just returned from a fantastic two week holiday to Paradise Island villas. The villa was wonderful, with everything we needed and daily maid service. The grounds are immaculate, pools cleaned every day. The complex is very peaceful and relaxing. We hired a car and visited museums, water parks and restaurants. We must comment on the friendly staff, Eleni in particular. Nothing was too much and their advice on car hire and places to visit was invaluable."

Truly a paradise!
"We just got back from our anniversary trip to Crete where we spent a week at the Paradise Island villas. We had an amazing time. First, the villa was stunning. What you see on their website is exactly what you get. The villa was very spacious, had great decor and was exceptionally clean. It had a full kitchen (stove, oven, microwave, fridge, freezer), dining room and all the plates, cutlery etc. you'd need if you wanted to self cater. The villa was fully kitted out too--big screen TV, surround sound stereo system with DVD player and your own computer with free internet access for those that can't tear themselves away. The beds were really comfortable and so were the pillows. It also had a jacuzzi tub to unwind in. The backyard area was quite large with two sets of lounge chairs and a full table to hang out at and enjoy room service meals. The pool outside was big enough for two but there were two other larger communal pool areas should you want to do some serious swimming. The pool and villa were cleaned daily. Second, the service and food were exceptional. All of the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. From helping us organise our car rental and providing restaurant suggestions to trips off the beaten path, they really went out of their way to make things easy for us. The food was great, very tasty and reasonably priced. We ate at the restaurant, which had both sea and mountain views, and took advantage of room service. We also liked the fact that they supported Greek producers, from the food to the wine--we tried some good reds that surprised us both. I guess the last thing that really makes this place stand out from other places we've ever stayed, are the "little extras" that show great attention to detail. For example, our flight came in around 1:30 am in the morning and they had a small snack waiting in our villa when we arrived. It was also our anniversary, so they decorated our room and provided a free bottle of champagne and homemade chocolate for us to enjoy. And on our last day our flight didn't leave until 10:30 in the evening, but since nobody had reserved the villa, they let us do a late check-out. We had use of the villa for the day at no extra charge. All in all we had an amazing time and would definitely recommend this place to family and friends. Next time we are in Crete we will definitely be back. Eleni and the rest of the team, thank you again for a wonderful stay!"

Luxury in a family friendly way
"Paradise Island Villas was fantastic. We stayed in May 2008 with our toddler. I loved it because it was luxury accomodation but also very family friendly - however having said that I wouldn't say it was overly family-focussed in that I would still recommend it to couples or small groups as well as those with children. What made it so child friendly was the staff's attitude towards children and the provision of everything from cots to highchairs to pool toys. For us it was an ideal combination of marrying up luxury with the on-site amenities of bar, restaurant, concierge style service. There were also plenty of other bars and restuarants within a few mins drive / taxi ride when we wanted to go out - in particular the local Cretan villages of old Hersonissos etc. were superb. We also enjoyed the overall location as although new Hersonissos itself didn't appeal to us too much, Elounda, Knossos and Lassithi Plateau were all within an hour's drive. The only negative I can think of was the open spiral stairs in the villa which meant we had to be extra vigilant when we were upstairs with our son - however they did fit a safety gate for us at the top of the stairs which went some way towards easing this."

Paradise found !
"We have just returned from a wonderful week at Paradise Island Villas which more than ticked every box on our wish list for a chill out holiday. The Paradise complex of 12 villas with pools, bar and restaurant had a very exclusive feel. We were made very welcome on arrival by Eleni and her team. Check-in was a very discrete affair and we were relaxing by the candlelit pool bar with welcome drinks of our choice within a few minutes of arriving. We arrived late evening but the staff had left complimentary welcome snacks in our villa which proved to be just one example of the 5 star service we had during our stay. Housekeeping would arrive at our request and would have been and gone before we returned from breakfast. We were left entirely in peace during the day other than making use of the very good room service for drinks and meals in our villa. The villa was beautiful, stylish and spotlessly clean. The private pool was a feature we expected but little extras like the jet machine (for swimming on the spot) and a hammock were nice surprises. There was plenty of space and although we were just 2 on this trip, we could easily imagine staying here on a group holiday. All the communal areas were stylish and minimalist. The poolside restaurant / bar was a great place to chill out and despite the exclusive surroundings, drinks and food were very reasonably priced (Breakfast or lunch around 10 Euro per person, dinner around 20 for 2 courses) . Being early season, the restaurant was sometimes a little quiet but villages of Piscopiano and Old Hersonnisos are only 10 mins away by taxi and proved good alternatives for an evening out. Some of the things we would recommend are: * Book your airport transfers via Paradise Island - hassle free * Try the Spa treatments at your villa - inside or in your own garden * An early trip to the nearest supermarket (Spar in Hersonnissos) for snacks and drinks to keep in the villa (but avoid in the evenings - it looked like Malia mark 2!!) * Take CDs to play on the surround sound stereo In all, an amazing place to stay and a week just wasn't long enough! Luxury and feel good factor..
"We stayed at Paradise Island Villas in early May 2008. This really is an excellent place. It has a real 'family feel' with the luxury of individual villas and a personal service. Our villa was immaculate and fully stocked with everv conceivable electronic item - TV, DVD and CD surround sound system, free internet service with PC included. We had loads of space with plenty of break out areas and air conditioning throughout. We also had a private garden (which was massive) with our own swimming pool (cleaned daily) and outside bathing/eating area. All the staff were excellent. We had great service, a warm welcome every day, they helped with car hire, taxis and sightseeing and the in-house restaurant served great food - although we did put on weight due to the portions! There are 2 additional larger pools (in addition to individual swimming pools) and a great chill out seating area by the restuarant to 'sip those cocktails' whilst watching the sun set on the sea. If you are looking for peace and quiet, luxury, privacy, 5 minutes from the sea (by foot) and not far from a town for nights out this is ideal. Being central on the island also helps with sightseeing. We will definitely be back. Robert - London"

"After an amazingly busy year, with both work and family issues we were desparate for a holiday to provide us with peace and tranquility-a chance to "recharge our batteries"This is often cited as an ideal for many holiday makers but is so difficult to realise.HOWEVER our stay at Paradise Island villas did just that! From day 1 we felt so at ease in the lovely environment of our villa and the stress of the previous year just evaporated in our peaceful and luxurious surrounds. The privacy is wonderful as is the location and the service which is both unobtrusive and highly efficient and friendly. We offer our unreseved recommendation for anybody looking for a "bit of luxury"at affordable prices in a peaceful atmosphere and our experience totally exceeded our expectations!!!!!"
