[-] loved it
"dream is generally for the young and lively, especially during July/August. We went at the start of August and there was only one small family in the apartments the rest were all young couples and groups. There was a group of nine of us, we ended up getting three split level one bedrooms in a block together right at the pool, the split level apartments were roomy enough for greek standards and considering at times half of hersonissos were in them at times they never felt too claustrophobic. The apartments were never cleaned in the two weeks we were there and we did have to ask at the bar for new sheets. Gemma, one of the bang on young ones at the bar, told us that the maid was supposed to clean every other day and that they had got complaints from other guests bout her but reading the last few reviews it seems they got that problem sorted( hopefully she got the sack). Dream is up a hill from hersonissos, wouldn't no how long it took to walk down always got a taxi which used to cost us E6.00 with 4 or five in the taxi. If there was only two of you's it would be a fiver, but none of us minded, right outside you've got Koutouloufari to the left and to the right Pipkipsino(don't mind the spelling on that one) which are two beautiful little towns with a real greek feel to them that are just basically full of restuarants and taverns and very friendly greek people which is unlike Hersonissos which by day has a real tacky, touristy, Tenerife-style vibe to it. Like I said at the start the apartments are generally geared towards the young, these are the only apartments in Hersonissos with a 24 hour bar and are by far the most relaxed in terms of, well, everything. Fellas we knew were going to be kicked out of there apartments for playing music late in the night( sorry can't remember the name), the bar in Dream belted out music 24/7, we were even giving them our dance CD's to blast at 6 in the morning. also other people we knew over there we told by management in their hotels that they would have to pay from E50 and over!!!!!!!! to bring people back , every night there we brought bac different groups of people from all over the island( one night me and me mate brought two english fellas who were staying in Malia back to Dream only to ditch them after 10 minutes and go to bed, leaving them with our fella mates from Crumlin!!!) they were so lax about everything, the securo Lurch( he's like 7 feettall)never said anything to anyone even when we were running round the place roaring like drunken lunatics at 7 in the morning and even let us in the pool on our last night.. As Dream is situated on a hill the views are heart stopping, now the last thing i went to Crete for is the views but i just fell in love with the island its unbelievably stunning and from our balcony to the right we had a view overlooking the whole of hersonisso onto the sea and to the left was a mountain range and when the sun was going down in the evening behind the mountains was just breath taking. Dream is really for the young in peak season but if you don't fit in that catagory and your going away in low season i would suggest Dream for it's handy location and stunning views. The best places to go is New York on a friday or Saturday, it stays open till 6/7 and is right on the sea front and eveyone gets in the sea while the sun is going up whilethe music is booming from the bar.Class, but expensive so during the week your better off sticking to Players, the drink is cheap and everything is 2 for 1, it is tiny but most just pour out onto the street and it is a great buzz, also look out for The Local, the drink is real cheap and all shots are E1 and they have a lock in so the place does usually be open until 7 or when ever it gets shut down, its not on the strip, if your at new york facing that is a pizza parlour, when your at that The Local is a bit down the road to the right of that. Also give Malia a go, it s a change of scenery as hersonissos is literally all Irish and Dutch. It has well more bars and clubs and the drink is well cheaper than Hersonissos(except for The Local) It's not as rough as its made out to be, although we did see a stabbing but don't let that put you off as we did also see trouble on Hersonissos but any where that theres that amount of drink being served there IS going to be trouble of some sort, Any way if your off to Hersonissos,ENJOY, you'll have a ball its a beautiful place with very friendly people and a kicking nightlife. I swear I had the time of my life"

Let me set the record straight!
"Just got back from Dream Apartments, and just wanted to say that it was a great place to stay and that anyone who books here should not be put off by the horror reviews! I booked this as a late deal, two days before I was due to go, basically I had little info about it but booked it hoping for a nice quiet holiday with my boyfriend. When I got home and read the reviews on Trip Advisor I was horrified and tried to cancel, seemed that it would not be my scene at all! Couldnt cancel tho without losing all money so we had to go... However, this place is NOT for young singles only, there were only one small group of young people and they were fine. Everyone else was a couple, many in twentys and thirties, but I would say even more so in their forties and fifties! So this place is not a paradise for the young. There is plenty of nightlife, but the bit near the hotel is restaurants and shops only, so nice a quiet. The bar area is further down so no problem for us. The apartment was perfectly clean, clean beds and room in general. Maids came in frequently and cleaned. I think that maybe some people have never been to Greece before and expect a bit much, Greece is rustic, and yes, showers are often just a step in cubicle so that the whole room gets wet... deal with it, this is Greece, i've been 5 times and all the bathrooms have been the same! No problems with noise, no drunks rolling back at all hours, no fights, nice and quiet. The staff were all helpful as is the manager... not lazy I dont think, perfectly helpful. Restaurants all nice, in particular we liked Steki, Pegasus and Emmanuels. If you go to this apartment do not worry, its really fine, everything you should expect from an apartment in Greece!"

my favourite place ever!
"Dream apartments are very basic but is heaven for the young holiday maker, has a 24 hour bar with young friendly irish staff, the one thing i did not like about the apartments were the bathrooms, very small and very badly designed. At night time there was a security guard with a flash light who we christened tom while on our stay there he was very friendly and always made sure we got into our apartments safe and sound. one flaw about the bar was the fact that we were always charged different prices for the same thing, i think some of the staff were pocketing the money for themselves. the surrounding area to the apartments known as Koutalafari and Piscopiana were lovely and full of nice places to eat, the view from Dream apartments was fabulous. With regard to Hersonissos it is such a great lively spot for young people full of lively bars clubs and pizza stands (ha ha) and i would go back in a flash. anyone who plans on going to Hersonissos must try star beach during the day its the best place to be with a foam party that kicks off at 5 everyday and live djs its like one big beach party! Enjoy Hersonissos everyone i know myself and my friends had a ball, if Carlsberg did holidays....... Hersonissos would be it!"

The Worst Apartment we've ever stayed in
"How this hotel even got its two stars I don't know. We stayed for a week at the Dream (!) Apartments and what a hole. Basically its dirty, the room was dirty, particularly the bathroom, the pool side is not tidied until the evening so empty glasses and rubbish just stays there all day, when it is cleaned up its not done very well. On a good note the pool is nice and there are always sunbeds to choose from. Its definately for 18 year olds who don't mind being woken up every hour of the night by people shouting, doors slamming, screaming, people kicking doors because someone else has the key and so on....... every single night. On a good note all the bar staff are very friendly. On another good note the location is superb, 15 minutes walk downhill to the town, but also 1 minute from Koutouloufari which is a lovely picturesque old town with loads of nice restuarants, try Mezes for a traditional Greek meal, or Vinnies Garden with a lovely rooftop terrace for a drink. We would definately go back to the area just to a different apartment."

Not for everyone
"Good location near 2 very nice small villages with loads of gorgeous places to eat , avoid the one at the top of the road on the left hand side tho. Apartments themselves, very basic. Bathroom flooded everytime you had a shower as it was badly designed. Very poor storage also in the apartments, not enough space for everything and very old smelly blankets in the wardrobe. Pool was a very good size and plenty of sunbeds around the pool. Main complaint was the noise , even tho it is down as young and lively in the brochure and we expected some noise ,the levels of noise that we did experience were not properly dealt with we felt. Shouting and roaring at 6 in the morning isn't exactly what any holiday maker would put up with !!!!! Staff we found very friendly behind the bar and their cheeriness is what made the holiday . All in all wouldn't stay here again as it was very basic , but would stay in the area no problem. If you are the type of person to be up all day and night and don't really care about noise or accommodation then this is the place for you !!!!"

Go back in a flash!!- excellent hol resort
"stayed in Dream aparts for two weeks - had an absolute ball. the irish gils workin in the bar are lovely. the apartments them selves are basic - we had a duplex whhich was grand but the stairs a bit awkard - good job there was just two of us. These apartments are for young, singles. there is a 24 hr bar so u can fumble in after your night out have a few at the bar and a chat and hit the pool then at 8.00. location is excellent - beside all shops and only 15 min walk from hersonnises which we walked into every morning. Stalis beach is gorgeous and also nice and quite to get away from the hype of it all if thats what you need for a day. i read the other comments on the dream apartments and there was opne row one night and blood on the floor but that was the only row and it was nothing major. oh, avoid Malia - this place really is a kip full of heavy rough dudes and riots all the time. Go to temple bar and Shanangians. also buy one get one free in players. New York is good and the Camelot is class - excellent music. Best holiday resort i was ever in and i ve been to most of them. Enjoy your holiday."

Holiday from Hell
"We have recently returned from spending a week in the Dream Apartments, the location of the apartments is excellent with some great restaurants and bars nearby however the accomodation itself was terrible. We had a ground floor apartment and heard noise as everyone passed our apartment everynight and fighting coming from the bar area on at least 2 occasions. The cleanliness of the apartments was awful and we saw mice on two occasions in our apartment when we complained to the manager about this he was both rude and confrontational, when we got moved in to another apartment we found blood all over the bathroom tiles. The toilet in the bar/pool area was disgusting again with blood on the walls."

"Hi, just arrived back from 1 week here, we had a allocation on arrival and were really pleased with the area. it is a beautiful village situated slightly in the hills, but we had a balcony view over looking the sea and herronisos. All in all we were pleased with Dream, only a coupe of complaints, the hotel manager is very unhelpful and rude. He basically is young and lazy, we had to help old ladies carry suitcases up 2 flights of stairs twice (he is a bit sexsist should we say). Anyway, the bar girls are lovely and very friendly and made the holiday for us. The only complaint is the 24 hour bar, which is fine and no problem with people drinking all day/night, it was just the music from the bar kept everyone up all night and the singing drunks also, often right through the night until 8-9am. I would not reccomend the air con - it is a rip off 50 euro for 1 week! we went down to Herronisos town and bought a desk fan for 10 euro and it was brilliant. Also, its 2 euro each to change the travellers cheques. I would also recommend Olivia 4 courses for 12,90 euro, excellent service/food and view. Please be warry of some resturants, when you sit down they brought us some greek bread with dips & normal rolls, then after our meal the brought us a large plate of melon/fruit and cream. You think they are gifts, but they add it all to your bill!!!!!! we were warned, so we just refused them (although they didnt like it! he he) We had a quad for 1 day to goa sight see. But heard some horror stories about young british holiday makers who have come off them and in intensive care/broken bones etc...... Be careful especially with young kids and they race round and drink drive day and night. Great english breakfast is down in the irish part of Kouto...."

Dream Apartments, Koutouloufari
"We stayed a week in the complex which has an amazing location, in Koutouloufari and near Piskopiano and Old Hersonissos. It is about 15 minutes walk to Hersonissos, down not necessarily steep hill but very long ( on the walk back) but taxis from hersonissos cost â¬5 flat rate. Hersonissos is great if you are 17 and single but to be avoided by those wanting a little more culture!!!! However, the villages have the most fabulous restaurants and bars and the craft shops are well worth a visit. Try Oliva for a â¬12.90 four course dinner and the little crazy golf course is a laugh. As for Hersonissos, Players does a good BOGOF Happy Hour, which lasts forever!!! and there are loads of bars, clubs and shops and Star Beach is well worth a go. As for the apartment, expect very very basic accomodation and take your own sheets if you don't want to sleep on sand paper. The kitchen is minimal and so is storage. We unfortunately had a ground floor apartment and could hear every reveller from 2am when they went out until 6am when they got back! We also heard the 24 hour music! It is also â¬50 for air conidtioning, although it is well worth it , and â¬20 to keep your room until 6pm before you fly home. Otherwise check out is at 12pm! Oh and don't do the First Choice tour reps excursions, they are a big big rip off and much cheaper down in the town. However, the good points and there are lots! The staff were fantastic, friendly, helpful and always smiling. They really made the holiday. The pool was a good size and there were loads of sunbeds. The bar was really good and open 24 hours. The is also a pool table and small menu of toasties, pizza etc. Mythos or Amstel are reasonable value and the spirits are â¬5 with no mixer. The whole complex had a great atmosphere and we made loads of friends. I think the best advice I could give is to avoid Dream if you expect to be in bed by 10pm because you will be the only ones!!!!!!!!!"
