"DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!
Long story short we were put in there for 2 days as our hotel was over booked!
This hotel is a no no to stay in!
The toilet continusly leaked, a live cockroach found in the shower, which the shower curtain didnt touch the ground so when you had a shower you flooded the place! the tiles were off the wall as well as the shower! it wasnt big enough to swing a cat in! the whole room was tiny. when turning on the tap the water was brown!
when we went down for breakfast all there was was coffee, orange juice, eggs and stale bread! the orange juice i spat it out, as it was disgusting and watered down! the coffe was the same. we ended eating out down the road. we didnt come back for lunch or dinner as i was so disgusted with breakfast i didnt dare!
Very unpleasent stay!!!!!

Have just returned from Krini Beach hote...
"Have just returned from Krini Beach hotel ,what a brilliant hotel spotlessly clean, very good sized bedrooms and well furnished.
My wife has disability problems but we were offered a choice of 2 different rooms, both like the rest of the hotel very easily accessible for wheelchairs.
The food can only be described as excellent, good choice , well presented and plentiful.
The majority of the visitors to the hotel are Dutch and Belgian with a few French. Most were very friendly and easy to get on with. The staff were spot on, very helpful ,and very polite.
The All Inclusive package worked very well. Soft drinks, water, tea, coffee, and beer were all self service both in restaurant and pool bar.
The garden and pool area are well laid out with plenty of sunloungers and tables and chairs.
One minor complaint is that the hotel cats came into the dining room begging food but this was mainly a problem created by fellow holidaymakers putting food on the floor for them.
One major complaint is the heavy smoking in the dining room whilst people were still eating.
My wife and I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good quality break based in a quiet resort. If you want the night life, Rethymnon is a ten euro taxi ride away - day time catch the bus which runs every 30 minutes and it stops 100 metres always and costs 1.5 euro.
There are four tavernas within 200 metres if you want a change of scenery and a supermarket 100 metres away.
We booked this holiday with Sunescapes and they did for us what they said they would do and we have no complaints at all."

I found Elounda to be a very nice place...
"I found Elounda to be a very nice place to stay, situated in a lovely spot just over the hill from Agios Nicolaos. I have to say on our two week vacation, my girlfriend and I were quite content lazying on the man made beach and pottering Elounda and ag nic.
We then decided to hire a car and travel for our last three days, which I have to say was a bit of a waste of time. We didnât travel very far west, as Crete is bigger than you think, but we never found anywhere as nice as where we were or people as friendly as in Elounda, they are very accommodating and friendly and I would recommend the small resort to any one. The only reason I would not go back is because Iâve now been there!
The hotel was basic but the staff were very nice, the only problem for us was the other guests who were very noisy late at night. Having said that it is definitely more suited for families than couples as this seemed to be the majority. The food was good, but Elounda has some good restaurants and eating at the same place gets boring, so next time I will prob go B&B and eat out.
There are some good untouched archaeological sites and other things not too far away and I preferred them to the bigger well known ones such as Knossos. So get a quad bike and go local, donât bother travelling half a day for nothing in a car! My two favourites were the leper island (cant remember name! - Spinalonga - ED) and the snorkelling in the lush clear water, you can go by boat or looking out from Elounda to the right, over the hill is a lovely secluded spot where I floated around for at least an hour a day looking at the many different fish.

We had a wonderful time staying at the K...
"We had a wonderful time staying at the Krini. Anna was friendly and welcoming George Annaâs husband didnât seem to do too much. Irini who works in the restaurant and reception during the day was exceptionally friendly and helpful.
Manolis the night barman was friendly and the service was quick but keep him away from the bingo he won quite a few games and is now hooked.
The food was excellent. Breakfast was a buffet with choice of cereal, salad, fresh bread , toast, jam, eggs (one day boiled next day scrambled) some days baked beans, Greek yoghurt ,cake, croissants. Lunch was waitress service with fresh bread and choice from Tuna salad, Greek salad, moussaka, spaghetti Bolognese, stuffed tomatoes, egg and chips, cheese omelette, followed by ice-cream.
Evening meal was buffet again donât make the same mistake as most people did. Go up for one course at a time or you end up with 2 courses on one plate, soup (self service), salad (self service). Main course (served by Anna) veg., potatoes, pasta or rice, various meat each night including pork chop, chicken, meatballs, lamb, beef stew. Homemade Greek dessert (self-service), ice cream (served by Anna or Manolis (the barman). Snacks were either Pizza which were really nice (and I donât usually like pizza) and toasted cheese and ham toasties.
The Cretan night was good for a laugh and Manolis got up and danced with the dancers.
The rep Sandra did the quiz night didnât go to that so donât know what it was like.
We had bingo most nights but that was because a great group of Scots took over the organising and called it themselves otherwise donât think there would have been any. Thank-you Tam.
Elounda itself is a beautiful place and the view of the bay and the mountains from the balcony is fantastic to wake up to.
A ten-minute stroll will take you into the centre of Elounda and the harbour. Excursions are easily booked with the tour agencies in Elounda and are nearly half the price the rep was charging
We booked this holiday 3 weeks before departure and paid £283 each for 2 weeks. Most people seemed to have done the same with a few exceptions that had paid the brochure price. Would I pay the brochure price? No. Was really great deal at the price we paid but would have expected more entertainment for £500+
Pool was vacuumed daily but the bugs were always landing in it. Guests passed on the job of fly-fishing but seemed to enjoy it.

Highs and Lows
"The hotel is basic but nice, it has a pool and a nice but basic rooms.
We and a few other guests had bubbling toilets which were annoying and were not fixed, which caused annoyance.
There were only i and my girlfriend at the start of the week at the hotel and the number slowly increased to about 10. Therefore the hotel was quiet.
The buffet meal that was supposed to be provided did not exist, it was a waiter served meal which some of the guests did not like.
The owner Anna seemed to be nice, but was very sarcastic at times and didnt like to do much work, the lasyness was a collective attitude of the family.
Airconditioning is an extra charge and not really worth it.
Overall the hotel was ok, but the service could have been alot better and friendlier."

Small Friendly Hotel, Great location
"The Krini Hotel is small, basic and good fun. The food is very nice - the hotel seems to work on a 7 day menu cycle so if you stay for 2 or more weeks you will experience the same dishes throughout your stay.
Having said that the variety of food is good and there are plenty of dishes for vegetarians; the salads are great.
If you are booking an all inclusive holiday be aware that the entertainment is limited. During the two weeks I was there we had 4 entertainment nights including two 20 question quiz nights and a games night that lasted 40 minutes! The Greek dancing night was great and the guy's, including the barman, get you involved - a great hour and you really get into the swing of things.
In fact, the entertainment is the only criticism I would offer. If you compare it to other all-inclusive holidays you will be disappointed - and not everything that is advertised as free (pool tables and table football) is - this is the fault of the Travel Company (their information is inconsistent or just plain wrong) not the hotel.
The hotel is fine, the location is good (close to Elounda / archeological sites / mountains and a long-way from Malia!) and the staff and Cretan people, like all Greeks, are very friendly.
Go for the weather, scenary, Cretan hospitality and location."

Thank you Anna
"We got a fantastic deal to stay in the krini all inclusive july of this year. As previous reviews have mentioned the food was basically what we expected for the price we paid. The staff were generally very helpfull.
But what was what i would class as outstanding genuine service and friendliness was the way the hotel manager ANNA handled our unfortunate situation of having to depart 4 days early due to illness in the family. She was fantastic and did her utmost to help us in the stressfull time we spent trying to get home. THANK YOU ANNA!!!!!!Unfortunately i cant give you the same good review for the olympic rep (I will leave nameless) but I must stress Elounda and the Krini hotel are fabulous and you will have a fantastic holiday.P.S.
hire a car the island is beautiful and well worth the money to look about and see the sites."

Got back today - wish I was still there!
"Just got back today from a week at the Krini Hotel, which my friend and I booked at the last minute. We couldn't believe our luck - all inclusive food and drink, for less than we paid the other year for self catering? We were convinced there would be a catch, but no, there wasn't.
Well, you can only take advantage of the offer at selected times of the day, for example, you have to wait until about 12pm until you can have your first inclusive drink, even if it's water - but after then , you really can have as much as you like. And they are so generous with their shots of alcohol! Ask for a Vodka and Lemonade, and you'll wonder when they're going to start pouring the lemonade... it's great!
The only other complaint we had was the breakfast - it's pretty limited. But the other meals are excellent. You get a good choice at lunchtime, and the evening meals were faultless, we thought. There's a lot of choice, for example there's always a load of salad if you don't happen to like the meat they've got.
It's true that some guests were disappointed with the hotel - but we also spoke to people who were there for the third year running. We had a really good time, and for what we paid, we could not fault it."

"mr,mrs Mccracken loved the people in the hotel, the problem was the food people should be warned about the fishing as husband got caught out by a scorpion fish and ended in hospital still in pain after three weeks."

Enjoy your stay we certainly did
"Just returned from a superb two week stay in the krini hotel (28/06).
The hotel is very friendly, very clean, the staff are helpful, entertaining and the food is limited but good. A family run hotel - Anna, George, Nikos and Maria are all lovely. Nikos And Manolis are a great double act. Manolis, like most of the people we met in Crete is friendly and courteous to the extreme. A hard working individual who deserves a commendation. A mention must also go to Cleopatra aka Alex, a beautiful young lady (my son Tim was smitten) with a very pleasant nature. She speaks fleunt english so can help you with many enquiries.
There are a few things you need to be aware of. Make friends with the staff and you will I'm sure have a wonderful time, This may mean partying until the early hours. If this is not your scene ask for a room at the back of the hotel, it gets loud. There were the inevitable complainers......Too hot, Too cold, too expensive etc. Why do these people go abroad? Some we met had only paid £99 for two weeks and still found reasons to complain. As you may already have gleened from other reports this is a 2 star hotel and does not offer the same as carribean hotels of greater expense..Why would you expect that. However some do!!! The rooms are air conditioned, however there is a charge of 8 euro's per day, if you are a family the chances are you will have two rooms as we did. This makes the cost of a/c prohibitive, the heat takes a lot of getting used to. Staying in Elounda was relaxing and very enjoyable and the laid back, friendly attitude of the hotel helped make a truly wonderful holiday! As the hotel is relativley small you can make friends with most if not all the guests, this for us made our holiday so much more enjoyable. We would certainly go again and recomend it without hesitation"
