Will definitely return
"We booked our holiday quite late and were pleasantly surprised when we got to our apartment. We had a fantastic view of the pool and the sea. Cooking facilities bit minimum but we were advised of this by our travel agent. Lefterrys greek night bbq was fab and we actually went both weeks. Our room was spacious and because the balcony is north facing it was lovely and cool to sit out. The cleaner was great but didnt speak english, so we had to wait to see the owner to request extra pillows and he didnt come until we had already been there a day, but we found out later that he also has a full time job. Whilst we were there we did the botanical park excursion, it was absolutely fantastic. We were a bit dubious at first because it was so cheap and we didnt think it would be any good. Looking forward to doing this again next year to see how the park has grown. Not to mention doing the wine tasting again ! We met some great people around the pool, and are really looking forward to next year."

"We were put in the Villa although we had requested to be in the main block on an upper floor. We had great difficulty opening the front door, the owner said he would see to it but never did and we soon realised why--Cockroaches!--it helped keep them out . They were in the cupboards,in saucepans,on the floor--we killed 8 in the first couple of days. We were told there were no empty apartments we could move into until our second week.-Then we were put in the other ground floor one in the Villa which was larger and cockroach free but the bedrooms were depressing and the bathroom, though big was air-less,and Greek bathrooms do need ventilation! We came back one night to find we had no Electricity.Luckily,Lefteris, the great guy who owns the Bar at the main block was still there and called the owner who had to come out from Chania and eventually fixed it.We would have had no means of contacting him if the bar had been shut (and not a candle to be had ) The garden at the Villa is lovely but could do with some sunbeds. The Pool and Bar are great.Lefteris is a laugh-a-minute,very obliging and does a great BBQ.We met some really nice people but the Villa spoilt it for us."

"We spent 1 week at the Merabello, we found the location to be ideal as it was away from the hustle and bustle of the main strip and only a 5 minute walk up a slight hill. The view from our villa was magnificent, the sea at agia marina and also in the far distance the old capital of Chania. The villa was a decent size, 2 bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen/diner and a nice sized balcony. The only down side was the maid service, in 1 week the towels and bedding were only changed once! The pool was a short stroll away in the main block, it had a bar which was never open as there was no staff there but on the other hand nice and quiet and sometimes you could end up with the whole place to yourselves! "Just returned from a lovely 2 weeks in Mirabello Apts with my husband and 17 yr old daughter. We were not allocated in the main apt block but 2 minutes up the road in the Merabello Villa in 2 bed apt with very large balcony overlooking sea & mountains (& roof tops of other buildings but didn't spoil it) and the Greek owners beautifully kept garden, full of colour. Well stocked Supermarket next door. Didn't cook as only 1 1/2 rings (usual basic kitchen) but some very good restaurants in abundance 5 minutes down the hill, our favourite being the Kellari Restaurant, excellent choice, service, friendliness & good value. Shops, beach, buses, taxis all conveniently located at bottom of hill 5 mins from apts. We don't go on holiday to find negative points (as whole idea is to relax and enjoy) but if there were any it was towel/bed linen changes not too good ie shortage of towels & top sheets on beds removed and not replaced, not sure if this was because we had air conditioning (which was very good). Pool area spotlessly clean, pool bar is hardly manned as Greek owner usually attending to his garden, proudly so as you can't fault it, when he is there he can't understand you, he comes across as a bit grumpy in his mannerisms but some how we managed to have a laugh with him to. He even picked a flower for my daughter & me and brought it to our sunbeds by the pool (he's not all bad). His sons take over from about 3pm and you can have a conversation with them. Large, blue flag beach short walk away (have to cross a very busy road and pavements are awful in parts- take care) but a welcome breeze on very hot days. Sun beds were approx 2.50 Euros each per day & beach manned by life guards. Trip into Chania well worth while (known as the little Venice of Greece) full of character & charm. We took a taxi which cost 10 Euros there & 12 Euros back (not sure why) but more comfortable & not as stifling as the buses albeit cheaper to use. Visted Rethymnon & Kissamos & some of the villages by hire car (35 Euros per day for small car through Olympic). New Highway is a good road. We have experience of driving abroad however, if you are new to it be warned, greeks & italians are shall we say a little erratic with their driving & think nothing of overtaking you on hairpin bends so take care. All in all a very enjoyable holiday and we would go back."

"Things have obviously changed over the past 12 months! Our room was dirty and the maid service poor. We, and other guests, regularly had to go and ask for bedding and towels because the maid had not left any for us and a lot of us named it "Fawlty Towers". In the brochure we were not told that these apartments and villas were based on two separate sites. We were in a one bedroomed villa just up the road from the apartments. I think we got the raw deal as we appeared to have the worst room of the lot. We were away on honeymoon and were really disappointed. There was no honeymoon package to greet us, no kettle working (although this was replaced) and we were unable to sit out on the balcony at night as it wasnât big enough! I can't deny that it is situated in a lovely place with terrific views of the sea and White Mountains but a few basic home touches would have been nice. "

"The hotel was lovely, but as we wanted a two bedroom apartment when we arrived off the coach bearing in mind it was dark and late it looked like we were being taken off down some dirt track, but when we got there I would say we had a better lot of apartments with fantastic views looking down the hill to the sea much better than the main one however it is literally a two minute walk back to the main block where the pool is. The only 2 complaints, 1 was the hotel was on a slight hill but there are a good 100 steps down to the main stretch of beach, bars, shops and restaurants if you find them. And the other was the owner of the hotel he spoke no English and was strict about children in the deep end of the pool, the pool bar wasnât fantastic as there was no one ever there to keep it open, and if it was open there was no change but if you try with the owner then he does seem quite nice, you just have to laugh off his mannerisms. The upkeep was well kept as well a cleaner was there on a daily basis too. The best places for dinner as well was definitely the cactus, and the kri, kri. Overall though a great holiday!"

"We have just returned from a week in the Merabello (Mirabello) Villa, just 50 yds down the road from the Apartments with a swimming pool. The owner is justifiably very proud of his gardens, the villa sits in its own garden, with a grape vine laden pergola, and a brick BBQ, it is set up on a hill back from the main road, with open land each side. From our balcony on the first floor we had a lovely view eastwards of Chania Bay, and the White Mountains, not uninterrupted, but very visible. The 2-bedroom villa is furnished in a very Cretan style, with dark wood, and ornate light fittings. It is unusual as we had a bath, not just a shower, and hot water all day, not just when the sun was up! I would say that it was probably a 4 star accommodation a few years ago, and the only thing that had brought it to a 3 star instead is that it was probably built in the 1980's judging from the colour and style of the bathroom, but that didnât bother us. We had a lazy, unwinding, holiday, with a couple of bus trips to Chania (only about £2.80 for 3 adults one way) and a road train trip to the Western Hills, bit bumpy, but recommended as a cheap way of seeing a bit of 'proper' Crete. I would definitely recommend as somewhere that caters for a wide range of holidaymakers. Itâs close enough for a short bus rides for more lively evenings, but remote enough to be able to just walk, and sit. I went with my husband and 17-year-old daughter, and she wasnât bored!"
