"This was our first holiday abroad as a new family and we were totally spoiled. We were made to feel very welcome by Zac and Georgio.
It was a very quiet complex and the pool was amazing. We had it to ourselves most of the time. There was always sun beds available any time of day.
The rooms are basic but what more do you need? Somewhere to sleep and wash.
One night we ate at the pool bar where Zac cooked us a wonderful meal in his outdoor oven. Wished we'd eaten there more during our stay.
Will definitely be going back."

Happy Holidays again and again
"Went out in May 2014 and once again a warm welcome by George and his brother Zac.
The apartments are cleaned by their mother who is elderly but no one else is good enough to clean her sons Hotel.
The hotel is situated between Amoudara and Garzi so you can walk up the hill for some amazing cakes and local life or down the hill to the village of Amoudara which has a selections of shops, bars and restaurants. The beach is 10 min walk down the hill. You can catch the local bus in to Heraklion too.
But if Zac is cooking for the night you do not need to travel anywhere else to eat. Zac cooks local Greek dishes which are to die for. And there is his home made wine to go with the meal.
The rooms are small and basic but for the price you get what you pay for, and with such a bar and pool you only need to shower and sleep in.
I have booked again to go in October to relax and recharge as this is the place to do it. "

"Lovely place to stay! The brothers really look after you, I am still here with my 13 year old daughter and we have had a lovely relaxing holiday! Don't want to leave tomorrow, rooms are all you need and expect in Greece, you don't come away to cook! Zach is a great cook and has served us some super meals, the rooms are cleaned daily by George and Zack's mother who refuses to stop work! She loves it! We are already planning a return trip later this year,"

worst hotel ever
"George killed a large rat beside the pool in front of myself and grand kids the place is overgrown with bugs everywhere. they would not cook for us as we were the only guests there.they would not let my daughter and grandson enter my room as they were not paying guess and I found Zak very rude after he was drinking all day.he said he was off the drink.apartment was tiny and ants everywhere .their poor mother who is about 80 years of age is the only cleaner.hence the place is filthy.would not advise you to go anywhere near this place pay a little extra for a much better hotel.you have been warned.you can check out the rat killing on you tube ."

"Hey, just got back from my first holiday at the imperial studios. Can I just say it was perfect! We arrived there quite late but Georgio was sat at the bar waiting for us with a cold beer ready. We stayed in a room on the top floor which had great views and was kept clean by their lovely mother Maria. Throughout my stay there both Zac and George made sure my holiday was fun and that I was ok. I felt very safe there and not a worry I had!! After a couple of days at the hotel I felt a bond and a relationship with both brothers started to grow.
All meals were cooked to perfection and drinks were served ice cold. The brothers were always free to sit with and have a laugh. The pool was big and I seen me and my boyfriend always had the pool to ourself as the hotel wasn't busy. It was always kept clean. The service was great and George and Zac made me and my boyfriend eel very welcome. The location was great, we were able to was out and walk 2 minutes down the road to the main strip which had many activities, bars, shops, supermarkets and restaurants.
I will defiantly be returning next year.
I now have the holiday blues and wish I was back. Anyone thinking about booking here, you'll have a fantastic time! But a week there is not long enough..... Happy holidays "

Lovely time in Crete
"Have just returned from a lovely week here, what a fabulous place. Friendly welcome, fantastic pool, great apartment - the children (7 & 5) absolutely loved it. Zac and Georgio really make the difference between an average holiday and a really great one.
I could go on but why not go and see for yourself, forget all the rubbish about the Euro and the state of the Greek economy Greece is still a great place for a relaxing holiday"

wonderful friendly run hotel
"we have just returned on Sat 1st October 2011 after a truly wonderful week as guests of Georgio and Zac ,the Imperial was only about Ten km from airport and there were frequent buses and taxis there were nine of us in total and we all had a fantastic time ,even though we didnt arrive till after midnight Georgio was waiting for us with a cold beer served at the bar in their beautiful garden ,virtually every other guest we met had been coming back to the Imperial for many years just like other reviews had mentioned, the food that Zac cooks is amazing , we were lucky enough that they cooked for us three evening meals ,roast chicken , pork kebab and beef stifado ,in fact all the food was amazing from greek salads to omelettes,so if you are looking for a small [only ten rooms apartments] for a truly wonderful relaxing stay where it feels like your one of their family and not just a number then this is the place for you, cant wait to return Thank you Zac and Georgio"

"Hi just got back from a 2 week holiday and have to say wish we were still there. Me my husband and 14year old daughter stayed here and have had a exellent time. Georgio and Zac made us very welcolm from the moment we arrived, we were greeted at the entrance and shown to the bar for a welcolm drink which was lovely after a long flight. The pool is lovely with loads of sunbeds, so no need to get up early. We went into amoundora to eat a few times, but have to say the food here was far better. If you get a chance to eat here when they put the wood oven on which is in the garden then please try it is really beautifull. The rooms are cleaned daily by maria who is Georgio and Zac's mother, and she does an exellent job. If you are looking for a relaxing traditional greek place with warm hospitality then this is the place for you. We have met some lovely people here and made great friends can't wait till we are back there. Tracy, Johnboy and Ellie."

Wish we'd booked for longer
"We just stayed for a week and came home yesterday. Missing the hotel already. Zac & Georgio do everything to make your stay as wonderful as they can. The pool is fantastic never crowded and plenty of room to swim. The gardens are well kept and have plenty of sun loungers and shades, and Charlotte the cat is often found relaxing poolside when not busy with her kittens playing on the path.
The food is just gorgeous, cooked to perfection and delicious. Fresh squeezed orange juice is available and a lot of the food is produced by the owners so you know it's fresh.
It's a family hotel and Zac & Georgio's mother Maria looks after the rooms very well. Cleaned every day. The hotel is not in the heart of town which makes it peaceful too.
The weather was hot and sunny everyday so you'll need lots of suntan lotion. If you do eat out then we found Uncle Georges a nice restaurant the main road is a 5 minute walk from the hotel though until you find an ATM don't forget to bring Euros with you!
The guests become like a little extended family and almost everyone we met was a return visitor. We will definitely be returning too. "

Home from home
"We booked on the strength of all the recommendations, and weren't disappointed.
Georgio and Zac welcomed us and made it feel like home. It was great that there were enough sunbeds and you could wander down at any time and find beds free. It was also good to be able to relax in a lovely garden area, complete with kittens and chicks!!
The rooms were cleaned daily and the bedding changed about every 3 days.
The only downside, and you can't blame Zac & Georgio, was the road noise. If the doors were closed at night it wasn't a problem, but because it was hot we left them open and were disturbed by cars and bikes. That said, it didn't spoil our holiday and I would go back.
Food was good. We only ate there a couple of times. There are good places to eat in Amoudara and I would recommend Uncle George's for good food, friendly staff, cleanliness and value for money."
