Great hotel close to everything
"We stayed at Le Morgane from 9-11 May 2008. Hotel is in line with other reviews - very modern, nice location etc...Rooms are stylish modern with a nice feel, clean and big...we stayed in one of the superior rooms in off season (E$180/night) which is on the high side of our price range but the location is excellent being close to the Aguille de Midi chair lift, close to the middle of town and looks onto a little vegetable garden of someones house next door (with a brown cat who looks like he owns the place). Staff are VERY helpful, and can suggest things to do, places to go etc...We went on a walk to the cascade du dade which is about a 30 min walk away which was great. They can also book ski lift passes at the desk and book the price to your room. Car parking outside the hotel (in their carpark) is Free...again, a rarity in France, with Undercover parking at E$10/day (where you park your porsche i suspect??). I would agree space is somewhat constrained in the room as per some other reviews..we had two large bags which just fitted but its fine...you can also book back to back rooms so you can have a room for kids too i believe. Everything is very modern and clean. We loved it...we also got engaged on top of Mont Blanc too so we were a little biased!. Definitely suggest this place in April-May as prices are down (E$240 in high season for superior rooms). Definitely recommend going up to Mont Blanc - getting a 2 day unlimited pass for E$48 which covers all chairlifts for 2 days....if you are more sporty try the hikes on the snow and maybe ski down from Mont Blanc...we'll definitely do that next time. Also try and get a room looking onto Mont Blanc...the view is unforgettable."

Quality Hotel in Chamonix
"Just back from an great weekend skiing break in Chamonix at Le Morgane. I knew the hotel had been totally refurbished and hoped it would be good. It was excellent! The finish of the hotel is modern but very stylish and the staff are so helpful. From the moment we arrived to the minute we left they couldn't do enough for us. Our room was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and with new fittings throughout. There is an excellent ski store and the sauna, steam room and small pool are ideal after a hard day on the slopes. Breakfast was typically French with beautiful fruit, pastries and coffee. We also ate in the restaurant (bookings advised) which had a short menu but the food was superb. The hotel is 2 minutes walk from the pedestrianised centre and buses pass nearby for the slopes. Only areas for improvement would be the rather noisy doors to the rooms and the absence of hooks to hang up ski jackets etc. in the rooms. However these were minor irritants."

A very nice stay
"We stayed at le Morgane for two nights in early June. Our room was very clean, bright, and cheerful. The staff was knowledgable and friendly. The beakfast buffet included in our rate (120 Euros) was quite good. Free parking too. There were a few slightly cheaper hotels on the main walking street, but I can not imagine that they were as nice. The main walking street (I can't remember the name) is just two short blocks away. My wife enjoyed the shopping. Everything of interest to tourists in downtown Chamonix is right there. The Casino was about a 10 minute walk (we didn't go in). Another trip advisor review had mentioned the loud disco at night. It only operates during the Winter so it was not a factor for us. Chamonix is a lovely area and le Morgane is great place to stay."

Hotel Morgane, Great
"Stayed at the Morgane for 4 nights at end August. Loved it. Very good standard. Breakfast an informal affair, buffet style. Very much what we enjoy, good standard without being formal or intrusive. Location great, centre of village and ideal for Aguille de Midi lift. Reception staff friendly and knowledgeable."

Enjoyed a week at the Morgane
"We spent a week in le Morgane recently. The location was good and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were about average and were not air conditioned. Since we were there during a heat wave I was a little concerned abot the lack of A/C, but we kept our balcony door open at night and we were fine. Our room overlooked the river and the sound probably helped us sleep. There's free parking on site, which was great. I think I'll be staying there again on my next visit."

"THis hotel is good for a ski trip, active holiday where you need a clean, conveniently located hotel. This hotel is steps away from the cable car to the top of the mountain and around the corner from what i believe was the main walking, shopping, eating area of the city. This is not a place to go to be pampered. the rooms are functional, not luxurious and the hotel is not intended to be a spa experience. I would go back"
