I would love to have spent more time at this hotel.
"We had been travelling Europe for over 5 weeks when we arrived at L'oustalet and it was like finding gold. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and nothing was too kmuch trouble. We were able to have a very tasty and reasonably priced lunch in the garden with a view to the mountains and our room was very comfortable with a balcony overlooking the garden and pool and looking towards the mountains. It was close to the town centre and restaurants etc. There was free internet access though this was only available downstairs. Great value for money!!"

Great little hotel
"This hotel was excellent. The staff were friendly and accommodating, the rooms were clean and it was a great location. Because the bath and toilet were separate, we were able to fit our babies playpen in the bathroom, giving us our own space."

Lovely staff & cute hotel, but a little bland....
"PLUSES- Cute rooms with lots of wood panelling & balcony. Comfy bed, full sized bath, really friendly staff. Always very clean. Lots of closet space. MINUSES- No in house bar, boring breakfast, towel heater didn't work in our room, very poor shower pressure & nozzle is at your knees. No mini bar, tiny TV. We were on the top floor & WiFi didn't work in our room, had to sit in the cafe that was lacking in atmosphere to log on. There wasn't anything particularly wrong with L'Oustalet, but... at the same time we wouldn't necessarily return or recommend to friends..."

A great find in the heart of chamonix- highly recommended!
"A clean, efficient, friendly hotel in a great location in chamonix (sud). The family room was perfect (thouroughly cleaned daily) with a separate room with two bunk beds for the children. breakfast was very substantial- and free for kids under 7. Staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel does not serve evening meals but you are a two minute walk from lots of great restaurants. Despite being high ski season the hotel appeared very quiet- the bar was closed and from 9pm onwards the door is closed and a code is required- this suited us fine as everone is tired from skiiing and wants an early night anyway but may not suit 'revellers'? We would love to return here in summer - it must be beautiful with the outdoor pool etc. A great find which we will use again."

Cosy and relaxing
"We spent a fantastic Christmas in hotel Oustalet. The hotel is cosy, the staff very nice and the location calm and in a walking distance from the Chamonix center. If you like quiet and cosy rooms, comfortable beds, your private time in sauna, hammam and jacuzzi after a day of skiing and a hot wine in front of a fire place, this is your place."

"In a town not exactly lacking in choice of accomodation, we chose this one based on the reviews of other travellers. The biggest and best compliment i can give this hotel and the town of Chamonix is the fact that within a few hours of arriving we changed our travel plans so that we could stay longer. The hotel looks the part, is in a perfect location, is easy to find, has parking, and every room has Mont Blanc views, 10/10."

Wonderful Stay in Quaint Hotel
"My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hotel L'Oustalet. The reception was very friendly and helpful in answering questions and providing suggestions for the area. The hotel itself was perfect for our needs. Great location (minutes walk to the lift to Auguille du Midi), with cozy, comfortable guest rooms. The pool was small, but sufficient for a quick dip to cool off after a long hike. We took advantage of the tea cafe to relax one afternoon--the homemade sorbet is very refreshing, and the sofas provided a comfortable spot to read a book and relax. The breakfast was wonderful--definitely worth the â¬13 extra! A full selection of pastries, breads, cereals, homemade yogurt, fruit, meats & cheeses, as well as hot eggs. Perfect way to fuel up for hiking. And you couldn't beat the views of Mont Blanc from our balcony! Overall a wonderful stay."

Such friendly service and a great place!
"An amazing little find. Great people, great service, very flexible (eg: we stayed two nights, parked for five). Really nice outdoor pool and yard. Rooms on the first floor have terraces, not balconies - even better! Plus, a nice breakfast buffet and comfy rooms. Nothing to complain about, everything to like. Will definitely stay again!"

Memorable Service in a Terrific Hotel
"Let's cut right to the chase: the Hotel L' Oustalet rocks! While Chamonix has an abundance of places to stay, it would seem practically impossible to track down a nicer, better value-for-money hotel than the L'Oustalet. The hotel is perfectly situated for trips to Chamonix's one can't-miss site, the Aquille du Midi, or summit of Mount Blanc - a less than five minute walk. Our double room had smashing views of that magnificent mountain, along with a porch and views down to the hotel's pool and pleasant yard and dining area. Very nice, indeed. The L' Oustalet's double-room was upscale rustic in style, with light woods, and it was very tidy. The bathroom was small, but featured good lighting and solid plumbing. One very minor aspect of the room was the single mirror, located only in the bathroom. Still, this single misstep is easily overlooked due to the room's overall comfort and attractive styling. One can't speak of this hotel without mention of the service. The hotel is run with an unyielding commitment to the guests' comfort and satisfaction. Indeed, the entire staff is remarkably friendly and helpful; one only wishes each accommodation followed this model. The L' Oustalet also provides an extensive and delicious breakfast. Among the items on offer are freshly made cakes, yogurt (in adorable glass jars), croissants, and scrambled eggs. What a great way to start your day. Don't miss the Hotel L' Oustalet!"

Great stay - as usual!
"We stayed 2 nights at Oustalet mid July2009, on our way to Italy. As already experienced several times in the past, it is nice to see that this small hotel is keeping its standards very high. Location is brilliant, rooms are clean and neat, breakfast is great and and staff is very nice. Really to recommend when visiting Chamonix and surroundings!"

"Recommended by a local resident. This is a smallish family hotel, very central (but not noisy), built in a swiss chalet style, but modern facilities. Spotlessly clean, lovely room with great view to Mont Blanc from a good sized balcony, really friendly staff and great breakfast. Couldn't ask for more, and will certainly return."
