Very Nice Room
"It was a delightful surprise to see that our room had been updated, apparently in the last several years, including a particularly fine bathroom. The room was of a comfortable size, rather than a tight fit. The front desk clerk spoke good English and was quite helpful. Defintely would revisit. The hotel now uses the name "Allobroges Park Hotel"."

Thought this was a great place to stay
"I booked a week's stay at the Allobroges based on the recommendations that I'd read on here. I thought it was a lovely hotel, about a seven minute walk from the hustle and bustle down by the lake. On the advice of a previous reviewer I booked a Confort room and found it spacious and chic. The breakfast buffet was also good value and the tables were far enough apart not to have to listen to fellow breakfasters. The staff are absolutely great and when we had to dash off a day or so early due to a family problem there was no problem with just leaving suddenly. No extra charge or cancellation. They couldn't have been friendlier. I thoroughly recomment this hotel and Annecy is a lovely place for a holiday. So much people watching from one of the many cafés or bars and the lake and mountains are gorgeous. Go now!"

Mixed but mostly positive
"The hotel has as others have written been recently refurbished and the common areas and rooms have been done to a high standard - comfortably 4 star. The rooms we had did not have mini bars but this is not a major issue. The car parking is very tight but definately worthwhile in the area. Getting to the hotel by car can be a little challenging as it is in a maze of one-way and bus only streets. We cheated and pretended to be a bus having been frustrated by the system! The negatives: The hotel is actually down a little quite dirty cul-de-sac. It is very close to the station and the square in front of the station. On that side with a window open you can hear the trains. On the other side, certainly on a Saturday night there was a lot of raucous noise from youts until after midnight. On the plus side the soundproofing is good if you close the windows. But we stayed in late March and the A/C was not yet on but the rooms were hot. I'd give this one a mixed review. I think for a night or two it is a good choice but for longer I'd want the location to be quieter and the immediate surroundings to be more upmarket."

very convenient location
"Just returned from 6 nights in Annecy, staying at this hotel (now Allobroges Park hotel). Location very convenient for train/bus station--get off bus from Geneva, turn left, walk 300m. and you are there.Walk about 500m. to the lake shore, and about 300m to the old town with numerous restaurants, shops etc. Room was clean, comfortable, not huge, and a little dark, overlooking a car-park and concrete shopping centre. Bathroom clean and functional. TV had only one English-speaking channel(BBC World). No public rooms, small bar in reception, breakfast room spacious, but breakfast not worth the 8.50 euros per head, especially since you can walk down the street and eat in a canalside cafe. Overall good value for money, great location, well within walking distance of all of Annecy's charms, Felt very safe walking around at night, even in the dark. If you don't need a room with a view, but want somewhere clean, friendly, safe, close to the centre, especially if you are using public transport, then this is a good choice"

A lovely and elegant boutique hotel
"We have stayed there many times and find it an excellent place to stay in Annecy. Everyone there is friendly and natural and the place is simply and elegantly decorated with a sparkingly clean bathroom. It is situated near to the shopping and restaurant area and so very easy to come back to in the evening. There is parking, and so a big advantage to the nightmare traffic situation of Annecy. You can access this through a car park (without paying) as it is a quick way through. Be sure to ask about this if you stay there as there is no way you will discover this on your own!"

"I stayed with my mother for 1 night in September. I recommend you to book a Confort room, which is a little more spacious and with air conditioning. Confort rooms are equipped with Bath OR Shower, I had an impression that the one with Bath had been refurbrished more recently. The room was very clean and confortable. If you are coming on train or on bus, this hotel is situated in perfect location. (I do recommend NOT to come by car, because of the one way system hell in town) It takes only 5min on foot from the train station and the coach staion. The shopping mall is just next to it. The hotel is 1 street behind a busy street, so it is fairly quiet. You have a free internet access in the lobby. They let us check in before 3pm because the room was ready. I think I will choose this hotel again if I have a chance to stay in Annecy."

Superb Hotel & Location
"This is a lovely hotel & ideally situated for exploring Annecy. Staff were very accomodating & facilities were good. Hotel was very clean, the only negative part was finding if driving because of the one way system."

Perfect for Annecy short stays
"A lovely little hotel just a few minutes walk from the beautiful old centre of Annecy. We stayed here for two nights in September 2004 and it was just what we needed for our three days exploring this fantastic town. The hotel had just had an overhaul and the rooms were simple, smart, clean and comfortable. There's also aircon for the warm summer and cold winter nights. There's a small bar but no restaurant but there would be little point as there are a plethora of good restaurants around Annecy old town. There is also secure parking - not common in Annecy. Staff are also helpful and friendly. One tip, make sure you have good directions if you are driving to the hotel. The one way system in Annecy is a nightmare."

Also Called Hotel Allobroges
"We had orginally booked another hotel, but as it was fully booked, our agent suggested this instead. There is private parking at the hotel, which was a great bonus for us and our little hire car. Place fill towards evening time, so best to get a space earlier in the afternoon. The hotel staff were excellent- very friendly, and the breakfast was also excellent and served from 6.30am to 10.30am with a great selection of bread, yoghurt, cheeses, sliced meats, and an egg boiler among other delicious treats. There is an internet access point in the lobby for guests to use free of charge which was a nice touch. The rooms, a little 70s Parisian throwback were none the less clean, and of a reasonable size. The location is about 5 minute walk from the old town, and very close the the shopping districts of Annecy"
