"We really enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Star. The room was clean and of ample size. All members of staff where really friendly and helpful.
It is located in a quiet street, just 10 minute stroll to the train station in one direction, and the lively old town and beach in the other.
If you are looking for a budget hotel with out a drop in quality then you can't go wrong here. You dont get all the mod cons of a four star hotel but you dont spend a fortune either.
A perfect base for those wanting to get out and about during the day and return to a quiet clean friendly hotel for a well earned rest."

Excellent & friendly family owned hotel
"We stayed in this hotel for one night. This hotel locates in a quite street but close to the shopping district, train station, and beach. We had good sleep. The room was very clean. The price of the hotel is very reasonable. We feel like staying in a 4 star hotel. The staff is very knowledgable and helpful. They let us to check in early, so we have a full day to do other activities. They also look after our backpack after we checked out. We feel safe to stay in this hotel. We definitely will go back there. Highly recommended."

"The hotel staff is so helpful! British Airway lost my luggage, and the hotel manager is so warm hearted helping me making phone calls to the airport...
The room is not that big but efficient and clean. The location is perfect for transportation, shopping, eating and sight seeing.

What a Great Place to Stay!
"Hotel Star was a great hotel especially for the price. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful, always willing to give suggestions of where to go as well as directions. Plus, they provided us with towels
and beach mats to use, which certainly comes in handy in Nice. The hotel was in a good location; 5 minutes from the train station, and about 10 to the beach. It was also close to shopping, a grocery store, and quite a few restaurants. The room was kind of small and the decorations were a bit dated, but it was very clean and once again it was very affordable. I would def. recommend staying at this hotel!"

Great Hotel in a magnificient city
"The Hotel Star by itself is an excellent budget hotel. However, it offers a level of service that I wouldn't even expect out of a 4 star hotel. The staff made everything to be sure their guests had a nice stay. If I knew the kind of reception we got there, I would have planned a longer stay for sure. The hotel manager provided us a precise map of the city and helped me to find a parking area. Nice is not very driver-friendly so be sure to have the right directions to find the place if you have to drive.
The rooms are sober but very clean and comfy. The location is great with plenty of restaurants nearby and a 10 minute walk to the beach. From there, you can go anywhere in the city. There is some noise but this is what to expect being downtown of any european city. In the morning, there is a nice continental breakfast with fresh croissants from a nearby bakery.
I would definitely stay there again."

This Star Shines
"We just got back from a romantic little weekend trip to Nice, and we stayed at the Hotel Star in Nice. Near the old part of the city, it's convenient to the train station, on bus lines and easily accessible by car.
A quiet 2 star hotel, it's clean and comfortable, but the service is what makes the hotel really shine!
Our room was on the second floor - note: there are no elevators in the building, overlooking one of the quiet streets. With doublepaned window and the traditional green wooden shutters, we didn't hear even minimal morning traffic.
The Star offers a nice contential breakfast, croissants, tea, coffe and juice, with a couple of different types of bread as well. You have your choice of jams, butter and honey, and everything is served to your table.
The rooms are small, but tastefully decorated, and our room had a combination tub/shower. There is also a color television (small, but adequate), a hair dryer and heating and air conditioning.
The hotel manager made sure that our every need was attended to, and he gave us some great advice about where to go, what to see and some of the best "local" restaurants.
If you're planning a trip to Nice and don't want to spend a lot of money on hotel rooms, I recommend the Star Hotel."

Great staff, nice price
"The staff were excellent, we had a lot of questions (I have never been abroad, and I don't speak any French) and they were very helpful and knowledgable. Rooms aren't huge, but you get what you pay for. They were really clean, and the maids kept them that way. Manageable walk to the beach and to the old city if you are younger/don't mind walking (about 15 minutes). However, because the places closer were a lot more pricey this worked out great for us. If that isn't a concern then probably look for a place closer to the beach. I would stay there again."
