Good Value for a weekend break
"We were very pleased with this Hotel. Weather was fantastic. Location is great for beaches, shopping and sights of Nice. Booked a double and single room, upgraded to 2 double rooms. Clean, quiet and comfortable rooms (our rooms were at the back of the Hotel, so no problem with the traffic) Good choice at breakfast. The pool and sauna are small, but great to use after walking around Nice.
Very helpful reception staff, we were able to leave luggage with them all day, as our flight was late evening.
Would recommend to friends."

A Good All Rounder
"We stayed for two nights from Monday 17th until Wednesday 19th September 2007. We were not too sure what to expect based on previous reviews on TA but as we make a relatively late booking the choice of available, affordable hotels were quite limited. However we did not need to worry as we enjoyed our stay.
The hotel is very central and ideally located. We both managed to use the airport bus and then walk to the hotel relatively easily with our small cases in about 10 minutes. It is also about a 10 minute walk to the seafront and slightly less to the old town. The area itself felt safe to walk around in the evening and that was important being females.
The hotel itself we could not fault. It was excellent value for money. We had a standard twin room which was clean, comfortable and of a reasonable size. The ensuit bathroom was modern, clean and functional.
We did not eat in the hotel so are unable to comment about that. My friend enjoyed the use the indoor pool (and there was also a sauna and Jacuzzi).
Staff were very pleasant and helpful and we were able to leave our bags when we checked out and collected them later on.
Overall the hotel is a good all rounder in a great location. I would certainly recommend and I feel that it's current rating on TA should be higher."

"Lovely clean and very comfortable room. Only negative point -No tea or coffe making equipment in the room. Hotel has a strange little indoor pool very small but OK for a quick dip. Floor gets very slippery so watch any children.
Staff were very helpful and most spoke fluent english.
Didn't eat breakfast at the hotel as there are plenty cafe and shops around. Very central location great for sight seeing."

"Just had a girlie weekend in Nice, staying at the hotel Nice Riviera, lovely hotel friendly staff, nice comfortable rooms, great choice at breakfast, and pool as a bonus.
Fab restaurant Trent 7 just 5 minutes walk right from hotel,3 courses 23euros(brilliant food very well presented). But dont bother with Gustav V on the sea front awful food 3 couses for 26 euros(very dissapointing),
Nice itself is brilliant take the little train tour 7 euros and get off at castle hill to admire the views, also the hour boat trip 13 euros from the marina a must. Visit the old town both day and night.
Get a one day pass and take the train to Monaco and see the Palace,Monte Carlo and marina.
The 6 of us thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights and 2 full days there, and i am looking forward to taking my husband and family back there soon."

I don't think it is a 4-star hotel
"We as a group stayed in this hotel for two nights. Everyone was so excited to see the the four stars on the wall at the entrance after an exhausted and hot day. Almost half of us were very disappointed when we walked into the humid and damp smelling room with broken air conditioning. Also there was no shower curtain or glass in a small, not very cleaned bathroom. The other half of the team said air conditioning was turn off and ventilation only around 10 pm. They moved me and my wife to a much better and cleaner room on a different floor the next day after they knew I was very unhappy and angry. Not worth the money to stay in this fair quality hotel, or you can take your own chance!"

"The location for this hotel bode well and it looked nice from the outside.
However, there were too many little things that were disappointing. The room itself was good, large, but the bathroom was poor, the shower was for midgets (under 5 foot 9 only) and the equipment in the bathroom was falling apart. The TV had few channels, which maybe is a good thing as you don't want to stay in your room in Nice after all.
Got back at 10.30 and couldn't believe the bar was shut!! What type of hotel is this anyway?
Service was friendly and efficient but I wouldn't stay here again."

Not 4 star!
"We had booked a superior room with a balcony for a 3night stay for my birthday in May 2007.
On intial arrival we experienced a warm welcome by the reception and were complimented on our choice of room which was encouraging. However, on arrival at the room, we were hughley dissapointed. The room was very dated, dark, unclean and the balcony overlooked lower rusty roof tops to the rear of the building.
We spoke with the hotel reception who apologised and offered us an alternative superior room without a balcony, although the decor was still dated and the room not what we would have classed as superior, this one was clean and functional.
The hotel is quite well placed, 10 minute walk to the train station and 5 minute walk to the old town which has lots of restuarants and shops. Staff were friendly and helpful, we did not take breakfast but were advised that breakfast would be 11Euro pp and having looked at the quality of food, it did not seem good value for money. We managed to find cheaper and better breakfast in town.
Although booking with expedia, we were hit with a local tax on departure at approximately 2.50 Euro per day plus an extra 3.50 Euro at weekends."

Very Good Hotel
"guestDublin Tripadvisor member 16/05/07.Arrived back from Nice last Saturday. We stayed in the Hotel Nice Riviera,a 4-star Hotel that was refurbished completely in 2005.Breakfast was good, the entire hotel was very clean, the staff were excellent and no fuss booking trips or any other inquiries.Bit slow if you went to the bar/coffee area during the day, sometimes you would get served, other times you just wouldn't.Great location, about 10 minutes walk from the train station, 15 minutes from the beach via the new unfinished tramlines and roadworks.Nice is a great spot, very relaxing, reasonable to eat out, never got a bad meal.Worth going to Gourdan, St. Paul de Vince,Grasse,Eze but Monaco was a bit over rated. Cannes is woth a visit. In Nice, the Promenade de Anglais was great, Vieille Ville(the old town), monastry in Cimiez, the Chateau,Cours Saleya Market.Make sure you see the sundial, almost opposite the War Memorial.Visit Nice Port, very pleasant. Sounds a bit touristy but the hop off/on tour bus is a great way to get your barings and also to see the monastry in Cimiez, saves your feet,it's all uphill.Costs 18 Euro per person for one day.Would go back someday."

excellent location but expensive breakfast!
"Just come back from a weeks stay at the Nice Riveria hotel, and overall very impressed at the excellent location and presentation of the hotel. We could easily walk to the train station and explore the town and coast of Nice from our hotel, and enjoyed the additional bonus of using the swimming pool and sauna (the jacuzzi was closed for maintenance). The only thing I would say to people is to do your own breakfast, as we thought it was 11 euros one off fee for breakfast for the week, and it was per day, which, for what it was (machine drinks, pastries and tinned fruit) isn't worth the money.
Worth shopping around for the best rates and getting room with a terrace (we were on the top floor - very quite and away from the traffic of the road).
Very impressed with the friendliness of reception staff and excellent English.
Recommend getting the train to Ventimille market on a Friday - lots of bargains and better value for money souviner shopping than Nice which is a bit expensive."
