chucked out of hotel at midnight with 4 small children
"Besides the hotel having no air conditioning this turned out to be the least of our problems.....we booked to stay for 3 nights quite a few months in advance arrived on the Friday went to the reception and paid for a family room for ten people....Sunday was our last day so we stayed at the park til late probably 9pm went to our room kids all excited as everyone was going to have a last swim before the kids went to bed and the adults packed up ready for leaving in the morning....keys to the room would not work my daughter in law went to the reception and was told they had not charged me for 3 nights so the wanted 400 euros before we could have the key to our room I explained I did not own a credit card and had 200 euros left which was meant to be for extra petrol and lunch on route home and could we compromise the so called reception manager said no and that I must have known the room was too cheap he was very rude to us from the start and when we became frustrated and gave him some attitude back he said he was calling the police, other staff passed us by laughing saying the police were coming they wouldn't at one point even let us just pack up and leave unless we paid the 400 euros we said to him if we cant pay to stay how can we find the money to leave????? Absolutely crazy !!!! In the end after calling the company I had booked through we were allowed to pack and go even then they said only one person could go to the room with two staff to pack I walked feeling like a criminal to our room it took ages....so there we were all ten of us including two 2year and two 4 year old chucked out at midnight with no where to go but sleep in our car in the car park !!! Could not believe Disney meant for kids would treat us like this . The manager said at one point it was a system fault then said it was our fault and we disrespect him and get out he also asked why did I talk to much get sorting it !!!"

Save Money at Disneyland, Without Compromise
"Although there are others in this price range, its not a bargain if you hate your stay! We were quite happy with Explorers, it gave us just the right blend of a nice stay, with extra money left in our pockets to splurge on fun things, which is not as easily accomplished as you'd think. First, we found our flight tix on the internet ourselves; this has never failed to get us the best flight prices. Skip the lines and the prices at the main gates. By booking tickets before you go at Disneyland Paris.com, you can take advantage of advance purchase-only offers and promotions, such as extra days free or price discounts. If you're wondering what to do with your car, book a park and fly package at Stay123.com, where you'll stay at a hotel the night before your flight to Paris and be driven to your terminal by the free shuttle, leaving your car in the hotel lot free of charge during your vacation. We regularly dave about half off what we once paid for airport parking alone. If you're only traveling around Paris for one day, buy the cheaper Mobilis travel card rather than the Paris Visite travel card which is promoted heavily to tourists. Paris Visite provides extra discounts and offers at certain attractions, but unless you plan to use these, Mobilis offers the same transport freedom at a much cheaper price. Oh, and Park Hopper tickets allow you to visit both theme parks on the same day. A great way to use a park Hopper is to tour Walt Disney Studios Park during the day and then hop to Disneyland Paris Park which stays open later. Disney packages offer early entry to Disneyland Paris Park, but are not a good deal for most families unless you plan to visit the theme parks the day of your departure. To return to your accommodations, most other hotels nearby are around $300+. This clean and comfortable little gem, with a very nice staff to boot, starts at around $135. That's a bunch of extra money for playing, or even just saving! I must say, this Hotel is nothing out of this world, but is really of great value for money . It also has an amazing pool to enjoy, before or after you have visited Euro Disney and need to relax. Very impressed with this hotel considering how much we paid for the three nights. Its classed as a 3 star and I would say that is fair. The outside and corridors looked a bit tired, but the inside was very clean and the maids came in and cleaned the rooms every day. As I mentioned, the pool is brilliant, and I wish we'd factored in more time to take advantage of the pool as the kids loved it so much! The hotel staff were polite and helpful the hotel was clean warm and the room comfortable .The breakfast was ok and the children liked it, and the Disney shop in the hotel was loved by the kids. The free shuttle bus was great; prompt and picked up and dropped off at this hotel first which was really useful when the hotels and parks were as busy as they were. In conclusion, I would not hesitate to stay here again! "

Excellent hotel, would recommend to anyone with children.
"We took our four year old daughter to this hotel and we all really enjoyed ou stay here. An excellent hotel, very welcoming and helpful when we arrived to check in. The service the next morning at beakfast was excellent and there was a great choice of foods for breakfast then could get cooked breakfast for 4euro. I could not fault this hotel, it is great for children the swimmimg pool is fab! Our room was great just what you need after a long day at disneyland, we had clean towels, our room cleaned and bins emptied every day, you also have a free digital safe in your room to use. The hotel is only two minutes away from disneyland on the free shuttle bus which we only ever waited five minutes for. All people who wrote bad reviews on this website for this hotel are either crazy or extremely fussy i could not fault this hotel once. Excellent holiday!"

explorers hotel paris
"dont understand why there are negative reviews of this hotel. We took four children, 9yrs, 7yrs, 3yrs and 16 months in february to this hotel and service and facilities were superb. The baby had a bad ear infection and the staff organised a doctor to come to hotel room and organised pharmacy to deivermeds all within three hours of us informing them of our need for doctor. Any time we were at reception they enquired about the baby The swimming pool was lovely and warm in feb and kids had a blast on flumes. Indoor play area regularly cleaned and always staffed. Loads for children,to amuse themselves with in the hotel. My family had better time in hotel than disney parks. Lovely walks around the hotel suitable for prams/ buggys etc and exuberant children.grounds of one hotel link onto each other, and you can dander around the lake, access other outside play areas. Breakfast has a good variety of breads, etc but not much fresh fruit for breakfast, food in resturant is continental, but if you go prepared for that then you will not be dissapointed. We hopped on train and went to shopping centre to big grogery store and bought fruit etc to eat in parks which helped to keep costs down when feeding four kids for four days. Would definitely stay in this hotel again. Our room was cleaned regularly, but we did have to ask reception for more sachets of coffee, tea bags and coffee cups, but once we asked there was no problem in obtaining them. Do bring your own towels for the swimming pool, shower gel etc as they are not provided, but thats all reflected in the price of the hotel."

"Lovely hotel, polite staff, clean rooms and decent food. The pool is great fun too. For those on a budget and tired of parks so not fancying going back out for evening meal the pizza is lovely and about 10e each. Easily earns its 3 stars. Booked with hotels4u and a real bargain at around £300 for 4 nts three people b&b."

"i recently stayed in the explorers. my sons red ninentdo dsi was left on the bed in a clear sandwich bag by accident but after phoning reception on 3 occasions and emailing on 3 occasions i got a reply 1 wk later saying no dsi found! and that was it. appalling customer service and lack of concern i will never stay at that hotel again. A hotel were hundreds of children stay every wk and things left behind will never be returned. A brand new Dsi and it just dissappeared!!"

clean and friendly
"We found the hotel lovely. The staff were friendly, it had a lovely gift shop and my husband bought me a lovely bag there which I will treasure for ever. I knew before hand there wasnt a lifeguard at the pool, so we pre-warned the children about how they should behave and stay safe. Luckily we have children who understand and stick to the rules regarding safety. When we had breakfast their last Thursday, one of the staff fell and cracked her dead so loud, i jumped out my skin. We felt for her and I think it is terrible they women have to were them long skirts while serving, they are too long easy to trip over and a complete health hazard. That poor girl. The rooms are clean and the children loved having their own parted room. Breakfast was basic, but the kids were happy with it so we didnt mind. The pool was open 8-1pm, a blessing and a curse! Yes there are children running up and down at 11.15pm because the pool is open till 11pm! I read many angry reviews about that, but its a childrens holiday and we didnt think it disturbed our sleep. The ball pool and activity section is for rough and tumble kids only! It smells of kids feet in there! The maids shouted at us in french because they wanted to change the bedding, but our son was poorly and decided not to leave for the park. She was very rude and i speak a little french, asked her if she would like to scream at me infront of the manager!!! She huffed and sauntered off. I think she thought i was an inconvenience in her world, but I made it clear i would not be shouted at! For that reason I would not give it 10/10!!!!"

Very nice time in Explorer Hotel.
"We have just come back from 3 nights in the Explorer Hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel room basic but nice and clean. Hotel also very clean and nice to stay there. Pool great and really good that it's open so late 11pm. Breakfast was continental, fresh fruit, bread, cheese, ham and lots of cereal we choose a slot of 8am as this was a quiet time, any later and it would get busy. The Hotel was rather quiet so there was a lack of food on the evening, only a pizza palour open and a buffet resturant which cost 22 euro per person, we choose to have pizza 10 euro and chips 4 euro which to be fair was nice. On busier times there is another 2 or 3 places in the Hotel that would be open to eat at so you would have much more choice. There is a nice little shop in the Hotel with lots of Disney stocked items. The Explorer Hotel has a free shuttle bus every 20 mins which takes you right outside the Disney park/ studios. We will for sure be going back to this Hotel like I said clean with friendly staff. If people want a 5* start Hotel with Disney characters walking around the Hotel then pay for it! This Hotel was very reasonable compared to the Disney Hotels."

The good the bad the ugly
"We have 4 children aged 5 , 3 and twins who turned 2 whilst there. We have just returned from a stay 4-7 Novemeber. Staff not very friendly, it was as if you should no where things were and if you dont find out. We moved the 2 small tables in our room to accomodate more room during our stay, stains were down the back of where the tables had been. Holes in the sheets, corner of the duvet cover was yellow..... The Bathroom had not been through a thorough clean for some time, tiles had long standing slime on them and in the grout obviously because it was only ever having a quick rinse. The coffee and tea FREE was only there on our arrival day and not replenished during our stay. Breakfast buffet very average....the cooked breakfast was available at additional charge of 4 Euros and wasnt worth it. To top it all on our last night at 11.15pm the Fire alarm went off the staff were running around like headless chickens no one directing the Guests , people were evacuating and some not ....after 10mins it went off many many guests were just standing in the hallways waiting to see what had happened. I went to Reception to enquire and was told the disco were using a smoke machine which triggered the alarm and she laughed and said sorry.... Good and regular bus shuttle, Dinsy Express is worth doing....beds were comfy but there is issues that need addressing for a family hotel....the swimming pool seemingly was not heated and was freezing altho the kids dont tend to notice..... Great value for families of all ages - and we even picked up some handy tips which saved us money
"We just returned from staying at the hotel as we went for my 40th birthday and wanted a nice hotel as a base without spending too much.We previously stayed at the santa fe (very basic), hotel new york(very overpriced) and the hotel new york (great but not wotrth it if you dont spent much time there. We booked the holiday ourselves-we booked the hotel seperately, bought the park passes seperately and booked our own transport it was easy and saved us a fortune as opposed to if we had gone through a travel agent. The explorers hotel was welcoming, the staff were very friendly and the hotel and rooms were great, only gripe is they only supply one pillow per bed. We had adjoining rooms but only had one bathroom, however the toilet is seperate which is great when the little ones need to go and someones in the shower. The breakfast was superb with plenty of selection including cereals, fresh fruits -melon,oranges and pineapple, yogurts, bread rolls, croissants, pain au chocolate, toast, ham, cheese, preserves, pancakes which the kids loved), fresh fruit juice and hot drinks. You were able to help yourself to as much as you wanted and no-one questioned you. You can have a cooked breakfast and pay a supplement but because of the choice already available we didnt bother. One thing we did do was take a rucksack to breakfast with us and we made up some ham and cheese rolls wrapped them in serviettes and took them into the park with us and did the same with some pastries also if I had known about the fresh fruit before I went I would also have taken a plastic lidded container to take some fresh fruit with us. The benefit of taking some food into the park is that not only do you save money but you can eat it while queuing so you save time as the queues can be quite long. As we went by car we also took some crates of small bottles of drinks with us and took them into the park as they charge you 3euro50 for a small bottle of coke and as it was warm when we went we were all drinking loads. This meant we had more money left to spend on souvenirs. In the evening we ate in the Disney village and tried to eat between 6.30 and 8.30 as its quieter then. We were 4 adults and 1 child and it cost us between 85 and 110 euros a night for a main course and a drink each (yes its expensive to eat in the disney village). The kids and husband had a great time in the pool and on the waterslides but there is no lifeguard on duty and they charge you if u dont take your own towels. Overall we all had a fab time and I couldnt have had a better 40th birthday.. We would definately stay here again. "
