"These apartments are very clean (ours was cleaned on a daily basis). They aren't luxurious but have the basics- all you need really. The staff were helpful. The pool area is well maintained with plenty of sunbeds. The main restaurant was being refurbished but we were moments from lots of restaurants and pubs and despite it being the very start of the season and some places being closed we easily managed to eat somewhere different everyday. There are the usual Mc Donalds and Pizza Hut but also Chinese, Japense, Italian and local cuisine. The apartments still served breakfast and snacks from the beachside bar. The beaches are very close with a choice of two, we preferred Fig Tree Bay as it had a small island we could swim out to and snorkel. The beach was very clean the sea was crystal clear and the weather was lovely, not as hot as it is in mid summer but my husband still managed to get sunburned!
We hired mopeds and travelled around the coastline there were other lovely beaches nearby. We also took the bus to Aya Napa which cost 1 euro 80. The price of food and drink wasn't fantastically cheap with a pint costing 2 euro but only if bought at the right time of day - during hapy hour. Overall the stay was good value and I would go again not sure I would go in the peak of the season as I can imagine it gets packed it was just right for us in April."

Wait until it opens
"Booked as a last minute holiday, so can't complain too much, but in future would not go out of season to Protaras! This was a nice appartment block. Had everything you would need and was spotlessly clean. Very friendly staff. Could be a bit noisy due to lack of any soundproofing - but not many guests there on this occasion! Had to be a contortionist to use the loo, as the sink was over part of it!! Only real problem was that the rest of Protaras was closed!! Could count the number of shops/restaurants on one hand that were open, and lots of building work - both new builds and properties getting ready to re-open. Absolutely nothing going on at night, especially for the children. Would have been in a great location if things had been open. Close to beach. Hired a car at local hire shop and that got us out and about to see life. Car park at back of hotel was handy. Nicossia was great, Famagusta viewpoint really interesting to get insight into the real Cyprus. All in all had great time, but would definately not go until the season has started properly another time."

"Another holiday in Cyprus is over but it will not be the last, we will return to the Sandra Apartments because they are great value and an excellent place to stay. The hotel is in the middle of the resort but not noisey although you are close to bars, the pool is a good size with plenty of sun beds around also on the upper level with the childrens pool and sun terrace, we were out of the main season but enough beds to go around with the hotel full. The staff are very good and the apartment was kept spotless, the apartments are large, well furnished and comfortable, we were in room 402 with a front sea veiw but as they are finishing a 2 storey building opposite the view would be limited from lower floors. Overall a good place to stay with plenty of places to eat and NOT expensive."

A bit too noisy
"We have just returned from a two week holiday staying at the Sandra Appartment in Protaras.
I had looked at previous reviews with mixed reports regarding this accommodation.
We were a family of 4 with two children aged 15 and 9.
We could not fault the accommodation facilities as they were as stated in the brocher. Unfortunately what was not stated was that it was positioned on the main road, hense of an evening it was very noisy with cars and bikes (Horns used quite a lot regardless of the time).
We managed to get to sleep at around 1am this was due to all of the noise some evening it could be 2am befor the noise started to die down.
We had booked a sea view, our view was of a building site We were informed of during the holiday that it had been up well befor we had arrived at the appartments.
Although the builders did start to work at about 6am in the morning I would say that our main dissapointment was the fact that of an evening it was very noisy, if we sat on the balcony we could hear the TV's on at the local establishments, plus the noise of cars etc.
If you like sport then your in for a treat every eating establishment have a very large screen television for sport.
I would reccommend going to the Love Boat as between 7pm and 9pm they show films that have only just come out in England, and so for the price of a round of drinks you can spend two hours watching Dark Night or Kung Fu Panda .
We could not fault the staff, they were very friendly, helpfull and curtious, we booked as half board and the food was fab, although you do select of a select menu it did get boring by the end of the second week.
Overall we had a nice time the beach is fab and the sun beds and parasoles are cheap only 2 euros each.
If staying on self catering you have many place to chose from for a meal, all we fould were quite reasonable."

Sandra Apartment - good location, clean and friendly
"We went out to Protaras for a wedding and required accommodation close to the beach and restaurants, having a 18 month old it was important that we were central to all the amentities especially when having to take the pushchair everywhere.
The Sandra Apartment was a typical apartment block in the centre of Protaras. Location wise, it was fantastic, right in the middle of the high street.
First impression weren't very good. The coach pulled up outside and unfortunately due to the positioning of the apartments, you had to walk up the side of the building, which was pretty messy and could have done with a good sweep up. This let the apartments down as the rest of hotel was spotless.
The reception area was clean, and the staff were friendly. The bar was pretty quiet at night, but during the day is was really busy. There was a good selection for breakfast and it was cooked fresh to order. My only critcism was there wasn't any fruit or yoghurt. and the cereal selection was poor. The bar staff were extremely friendly and my little girl took a real shine to George.
The apartment itself was very clean, with maid service daily. There wasn't much wardrobe space and my mum had to put her knickers in the cutlery drawer! Also there was no microwave, but otherwise very good. We had 2 aircon units, one in the bedroom and one in the main apartment area. The unit in the bedroom was rubbish, but the second unit was fantastic.
The kiddies pool was brilliant, and extremely clean. There were plenty of sunbeds, but like anywhere at the height of the season they went pretty quickly. The main pool area was a great fun pool and again kept clean daily by the apartments maintenance man.
I would recommend the Sandra apartment for location and for cleanliness."

Great apartments, great resort!
"Sandra Apts are a great base for a holiday in Protaras - Close to both beaches and on top of the action. They're not posh, but they are comfortable. Staff do their job well and try to help where they can. Beds were so comfortable I slept well for the whole fortnight.(A first for me!)One bed apartment is large with access to the balcony from both rooms. Main issue was the storage for clothes. Even for two of us it was limited. I heard the binmen twice during my stay, but on the 3rd floor it was not a problem.Lifts were always available, if a tad cosy. The pool was clean and warm, if a bit busy in Aug. however, up on the higher terrace, there are more beds, which were also comfortable, and a bit quieter. Plenty of parking, although weekends at this time attracts the non-resident locals, with their smart cars. Furnishings were clean and adequate, although we never quite managed to work the oven! No telly, which wasn't a problem for us, although we did miss the occasional update from Sky News. Bathroom OK with good plumbing and clean. Huge bath and sink in a small bathroom! Have to agree about the toilet though, close to the sink is an understatement - amazing what you can get used to.
Resort is compact with two excellent beaches, sadly overcrowded at this time of the year. Beautiful warm calm sea with so many fishes you'll be amazed. (Take some bread with you and have some fun feeding them.) Wide range of water sports for every level of risk seeker at very reasonable prices. The bakers next to the Friends Bar, sold a great range of prepared food and bread. You need to check that it's freshly baked as some of it can be a bit stale. (Even at 7.30am!) Best restaurant for me was the Molti, a contemporary eatery just across the road to the right. Good wine too at reasonable price. It was the only place I went back to. Eden Sq. to the left of the apts. provided some good entertainment for families in the evening. The Water Show at the other end of the strip was worth a visit, but get there before eight if you want to eat, as the show starts at nine and you need to be finished eating to really enjoy it at it's best. At 10 euros, the meal was good value.
If you do hire a car, do it mid week as weekends get very busy and you'll spend most of it in traffic jams and when you do find a lovely remote beach, it will already be full! Windmills car hire, presented good value and made the process very straightforward. (70 euros for 2 days with no excess)
Had a great holiday and can recommend it."

"June 2008 We have just returned from our 2wk hol, This was our 1st family holiday to Cyprus, Sandra Apartments was lovely, our room was spacious & very very clean!Staff so friendly an helpful.Dont bother eating in as you will spend the same amount of money as eating out! The pool is also clean and quite big. If anybody reads this & decides to go to Sandra Apartments say hi to jack for us,the food at the pool bar was good and reasonable,The food at the hotels restaurant The Blue Moon was lovely, the cheapest and nicest place to eat is T'Js,entertainment up & down the strip is gr8,alot of Elvis's but the best was Matt Craig from Barry Island, usually in the Square Bar,very funny! the best Robbie Williams also performs there too. You must also see hypnotist,Abba, blues brothers,at Love Boat. Sphinx is very good for entertainment too,
The beach is just over the rd Flamingo Bay with plenty of water sports to take part in,including Glass bottom boat, well worth the money.
The waterpark in Protaras has 4slides & 2small ones for the younger child, which we thought was just enough, Ayanappa has a huge waterpark, but takes while to get on slides due to the queing & more expensive.
We will definatly be returning to Sandra Apartments next yr 2009 if not Oct 2008
Make sure you take plenty spending money as it is not a very cheap place,
By the way you dont need to take travel plugs!
you get a gr8 tan too!
enjoy your hol karen x"

Great place to stay
"On arrival we were told we were in the block up the slope toward the rear of the main hotel, a short walk from the main block but not too far.
Pleasantly surprised when we first saw our apartment, nice and clean and quite modern with a fridge. Cooker, kettle and toaster in the kitchen/diner/living area. A nice modern bathroom, and bed with air con unit above in the bedroom.
VERY clean and tidy, and with daily maid service.
The pool is great and full of residents and children, it is on 2 tiers a lower by the bar area, and one above more of a childrenâs paddling area really with another sunbathing terrace above.
The bar was ok and offered basic food but reasonably priced and quite tasty.
The main drag is literally a stones throw away but as we were back from it it did not matter and we did not hear a peep."

"Me and my mum & dad went to the Sandra Apartments last year when I was 13. We are hoping to come back to the same resort next year but we are going to go to try a 5 star hotel which looked very nice across the road.
The beach was really nice and right across the road from the hotel. The sea was clear, and the beach itself was lovely with a few bars.
If you're looking for nightlife, entertainment, lovely food and cheap prices, this place is ideal. The hotel is in the middle of the main strip of bars and restaurants and even has it's own restaurant at the front of the hotel! We recommend the meze at the restaurant next door and the Love Boat Pub had really good karaoke, entertainment but was so popular, we sometimes stuggled to get a seat! We saw the Elvis act for the laugh and he was quite good, and my mum, of course had to go and see the Robbie Williams act at another pub down the road while me and my Dad ended up watching football on one of the many plasma TVs.
The was one computer which worked on and off which was quite old but had the internet and basic MSN, in the reception and Tasos, the man who owned the hotel was very friendly and wore a different football shirt everyday, usually according to who was playing that day.
The pool was lovely with a nice jacussi fitted in the corner and a waterfall coming fro the baby pool up the steps which had fountains in.
The room was okay but needed updating a bit. We found no faults with this holiday and had a fantasic time!
I recommend hiring a car to drive to the nearest waterpark, Water World. My friend and her parents took me and it's only about half an hour's trip and has fabulous slides and stuff to do!"
