"I have just got back from Sunrise June 2011 . When we first got there we were blown away with the views of the beach it could be mistaken for the carribean white sand turquoise shallow and very still waters . We coulf not fault the hotels service any problems we had they were keen to listen and resolve . Staff were so friendly and we really enjoyed there attentiveness . The food is five star i have ate in numerous top five star hotels but nothing could compare to the variety of dishes . The chef and catering staff were amazing no need to eat out recommend half board they is something for everyone even the english foods tasted better than they do in england!! A big negative factor of this hotel which is not there fault is the noise from the main strip that goes on till 2 am every night the worst is the people on mircophones that keep you up all night even with ear plugs i still didnt manage a good night sleep . however the staff did try they best we were in a side sea view overlooking rockafellows bar it was very loud first night we couldnt believe i complained straight away and was moved with no fuss to the other side still i had noise but not as bad . The whole week i had bags under my eyes i dont think i could of lasted two weeks and this is coming from a 23 year old who goes out clubbing . I think the only way to not get noise is too get room nearest the beach and pay a bit more i heard no noise can be heard from the beach view ones . I did feel sorry for the hotel as it is not there fault and they tried they best we even got a free bottle of champagne . I suppose we didnt realise how near the bars were . The hotel is fantastic but do not book with thomson they did not emphasis how busy protaras was and if we had know we would of paid more for the beach front rooms . They also casually mentioned that there would be a festival only to find out it was a four day even were the beach would be rammed packed so much you could not get a bed on the beach or the fact you could not go on a trip as it too you hours to get anywere as the traffice was immense . Having said that all the cypriot people that came down for the festival were so nice and no trouble we had a dance and a good time with them . The thomson rep was awful did not help us when we mentioned the noise told me that i should just drone it like she does i was made to feel like an attention seeker imagining noise !!! we then booked a trip through her only for the next day to say we couldnt go as she overbooked wen we arranged another one the one we didnt really want i started to feel ill too much sun etc within an hour of booking we went to tell her we must cancel only for her to say we cudnt we lost eighty pound with her trilling she prob feel better in the morning when we saw her next she ignored us and never asked if i felt better . I would never book with thomson again . Despite this the service, friendliness and beautiful beach made sunrise hotel a lovely holiday . Andy the animation was sooo funny had me in sitiches and the head chef chatted to us for ages and was so proud of his job and food in general . They really go that extra mile and give you time . The hotel was very relaxing and we felt like royalty . Rachel 23"

Our Wedding was AMAZING
"Me and My husband stayed and got married at the Sunrise Beach in Protaras. We wanted to let you all know how fabulous it was. We stayed here from 5th May to 19th May. As this is just the beginning of the season we benefited greatly. We booked and travelled with Thomas Cook. When we arrived we were very surprised to find out that we had been upgraded from Bed & Breakfast to Half Board. We were buzzing, can i just say that only Thomas Cook and Olyimpic did these upgrades, if you were with Thomson you have to pay for the luxury, (which one of our guests did). The hotel its self was amazing, beauitful layout, lovely people and fantastic weather. Please do not bother taking towels or a hairdryer as these are provided by the hotel, better to keep more space in your suitcase for more clothes. As i mentioned we got married here, on arrivial to Cyprus we recieved a pack from our rep, you have one from Thomas Cook and Denise from the Hotel. Me and my husband met with them the next day, were given our wedding time and informed of which venue it was and then told to relax as everything was in hand. This was the most stress free wedding i could have ever imagined and it made it even more enjoyable. We took table decorations out etc and Denise was happy to set everything up. The food was out of this world, we had beef wellington, never had it before but the beef just fell apart, beautiful! I don't want to spoil it for others that get married here but we were so spoilt, we recieved so much free stuff eg. drink etc, you'll see when you get there. The photographer 'Harry' was brilliant, lots of fun and very relaxing, we chose to have the sunset pictures too which is worth it, they are a once in a life time thing and now we want to retrun back they to visit our rock on the cliff side, view was spectacular. The proofs arrived back the day after our wedding and we had two days to decide what we wanted, they were then given back the day after all done and dusted. I was very surprised and glad to come home with all the pic's. We could not decide on 30 photos so we paid the extra 340 euros to have al the photos the album, copy right and DVD slideshow. A bargain i think after what we recieved back. A Wedding Day is the most special day of your life and i can certainly tell you that we would not change a thing about our wedding and anyone who gets married there, you'll love it. The resort its self was lovely, pop down to fig tree bay, a walking distance from the hotel, the water light show was real fun and surprised the lot of us. e also went on the Catamaran and visited the waterpark in Ayia Napa, both well worth doing if you have the money. The water park was a little exspensive but we had a laugh. So jealous if your about to go there, but have a great time we know you will x Mr & Mrs Dean "

You could not fault anything about this hotel
"Just back after two week holiday at this hotel.I would have given it 10/10 but thats perfection and nothing's perfect not even this hotel but its close. Most importantly its staff in every area were smartly dressed, friendly, extremely helpful and courtieous.Hotel was immaculate from its rooms, lobby, bar and pool area's,to the restuarant and beach area.Food at breakfast and dinner was of high standard and very organised. There is great attention to detail. It,s also in a prime Protaras location bang in centre of everthing. We would definitely go back there and would certainly recommend it."

"Me and my new husband stayed at the Sunrise Beach for one week for our honeymoon and all I can say is the best holiday we have ever had. The hotel was immaculate and the staff were brilliant and would cater for your every need. The hotel is situated in an ideal location right on the strip and right on the beach and the beach is lovely. I loved the fact you got your sunbeds allocated on arrival what a good idea as you could come and go as you pleased. Had the most amazing time and will be back very soon."

"Sorry this is a bit late but I just wanted to add a review for this Hotel. We (wife and I) went there in June 2006 for 2 weeks. We had an absolutely fabulous time at this very clean, confortable, friendly and well run hotel. I know that was 2 years ago but I was just surfing this site and saw the other reviews. Looks like nothing has changed. The rooms are very well mainatined and the pool is first class, as is breakfast. The hotel has an excellent location and the main street is close but far enough away. We would love to go back this year but we have 7 week old twins so will have to hold for the future. The only recommendation I would make is to not take them up on their "buy 7 evening meals for the price of 5 offer" when you get there. Not because there is anything wrong with the food (far from it), but because there are so many excellent restaurants locally. Especially the pizza place at the end of the drive way. Not to be missed. Enjoy !"

"We had a fabulous wedding at the hotel. However, we were not told about the 250 euros extra we had to pay to the hotel locally until we checked out! It has left us with a nasty memory, especially as the Manager was rude when we queried it. Overall, it deserved a rating of 7."

"The hotel is set down a slight incline right from the main strip in Protras. If you want a hotel that is right on the beach front and right on the door step of all the ammenities then look no further than this hotel. The hotel has a fantastic reception that stretches from to back of the hotel and has great views over the pool and beach. The room are of good size and kept very clean. We were staying on B&B basis which was enough as there are endless resturants around the resort to choose from, you wouldnt go in one twice. You have the option of sitting outside right by the pool area which is lovely but even at 8.am in the morning is very hot if its not under cover. The other good thing about this hotel is that your sunbeds are given to you on arrival so you dont need to go down and put towels out to secure you place!!. This works really well as you can go out for the day and know you beds will not be taken. There is huge area of greenery all round the side of the hotel which is where alot of the sundbeds are. At first arrival we were disappointed we werent around the pool , but after getting use to it it was great because it was alot cooler and quieter. If you ask they can see if they can move you if your not happy . The beach is just a stone throw away, just a case of going through a gate from the hotel and your on it which is fantastic so you can go for a dip then go into the showers to wash off any sand and return to you sunbed!. There are lots of water sports right infront of the hotel and the staff are really friendly. There is a family club through out the day which caters for the older children really but there is always something going on. The only disappointing thing was the night time entertainment. We had a 7 year old and wanted to go to it at night. There was only about half an hour of dancing and that was it. Maybe because there was not alot of young children staying there so they didnt put on alot of entertainment but apart from that i couldnt fault the hotel. The resort is great with lots of bars, shops and parks for the kids ranging from mini golf to go karting and lots of bouncy castles. There is also large trampolines which we loved. Bars have shows on at night aswell. Ayia napa isnt that far away 20 mins on the bus which is very lively for the young ones and water park there is great too. The bus stop again is right outside the hotel. If you go in summer be aware it gets to 40d so very hot To sumerise i loved this hotel and will be definatly returning in the near future. "
