An ideal location, very friendly Family run Hotel to spend a refreshing holiday
"The hotel is well conceived with a large, cosy reception lounge, the rooms are spacious with all facilities(comfortable beds, good cooking facilities, nice balcony etc...) the swimming pool is medium size but extremely clean with a nice surrounding area and plenty of sunbeds, the bar offers a good variety of drinks and the home cooked food is reasonably priced compared to the food offered in the many restaurants near by!
The atmosphere at the Livas is very friendly and relaxed, there is a small supermarket offering basic goods for daily needs, but the best is the pool bar where Andreas ,the barman, will make every effort to help you have a good time!
The Hotel is 5mns walk away from lovely quaint, sandy beaches.
So, to conclude, the Livas is not a luxury Hotel but in compensation you get a warm, friendly welcome and a very good location for a reasonable price!"

Best place to stay in cyprus
"We have stayed at the Livas Hotel twice a year for the past four years. The staff are really friendly and helpful and the hotel and swimming pool are clean and well kept, all for a great price. The bar and the food served there is excellent. Andreas (bar owner) and staff are very welcoming and friendly. Yianna (hotel manager) and her family, provide a hotel that has a happy and homely atmosphere, with lots of things to do. In an environment in which many familiar faces return time and again. We could not recommend a nicer place to stay in Penera. Its like visiting family."

"Had two glorious weeks in Pernera - Beautiful Island - Fantastic People. Booked direct with hotel and hired a car from the airport - word of warning - we arrived in the dark and there are no road signs from Protaras to Pernera and we stumbled on it by accident ! Hotel only a short walk to the bay which has a lovely little beach - crystal clear water - get yourself a snorkel and a pair of rubber soled swimming shoes and you will be in paradise! Konnos bay also highly recommended but a bit of a trek if you don't have a car.
Bus service into Protaras and Aiya Napa very good though last bus back from Aiya Napa is 11:00pm. There are lots of bars and places to eat locally however the short trip into Protaras gives you more night life if you need it.
The Livas apartments are spacious and clean, though a little dated - but the kitchens are well equipped and towels and sheets changed virtually daily. The supermarket attached to the apartments is not over priced and pretty well stocked. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. Didn't attend the b-b-q - if we had we wouldn't have worried that the Karaoke went on so late - just below our apartment but luckily we were pretty tired and managed to get to sleep!! Big thank you to Yianna who rearranged our booking when we had to reschedule our holiday. Most guests had stayed at the Livas several times and keep going back - will we go back? Definitely !!!"

loved the livas
"Stayed at the livas apartments 2nd july for 1 week and had a lovely apartment with seaview.all the staff lovely and helpful.balconies are a little small more suitable for 2 rather than 3 or 4.apartments spacious and well equipped with full cooker, fridge and electric kettle.shop has all you need for self catering.happy hour between 6pm and 7pm lovely cocktails for 2 euros.english breakfast was good value at 4.90 euros and was available until midday.beach is 5 minutes away and nearer if you cut down the side of building site.this was the only downside to our holiday there are some nearly completed villas being built on the land adjoining the livas so there was some noise in the day. would recommend polyxenia greek night on fridays no extra charge, just eat off the menu.did not do bbq night at the livas as do not like karaoke but heard good reviews.the ranch bar is good for a drink after your dinner has robbie williams, elvis sing a likes and sonny, who does a good cabaret.they have entertainers every night from about 10pm,drinks normal prices and singers of good standard, unlike some we heard!had excellent meals at kamouros,i think it was called.anybody with kids they have bouncy castle and other toysat the back to keep them amused[ it is next to platon car hire/travel agents].overall liked pernera to protaras.do not go to mykonos restaurant in protaras worst and most expensive kleftiko we have ever had!would return to the livas next year."

Clean, Comfortable and Friendly!
"We booked through Libra holidays and had reasonable transfer. Downer was that Paralimni was left until last to drop hotel guests off, so we had a quite long coach ride.
Rooms: Very clean and comfortable. Basic; not luxurious, but comfortable enough. Room we stayed in had a basic table and chairs, kitchen &bedrooms reasonably equipped. Bathroom quite clean, all rooms apart from the bathroom are spacious.
Location: Convenience shops and restaurants just down the road! Walk a little further for a selection of bars. If looking for somewhere less quiet, walk a little further for taxi rank where they have reasonable prices for aiya napa, protaras etc, and getting back is just as easy.
Hotel Staff: Are all very nice and friendly and helpful. One lady wished me happy birthday just from looking at my date of birth on my passport and remembering! They even sent a christmas card!"

Very Basic but ideal as a base.
"We have stayed here four times now and each time we have been made to
feel part of the family. They will remember your name and every member of staff is polite, from Cleaning staff to Management. The rooms are very basic, but are larger than expected and the immediate area has plenty of shops and family friendly pubs and restuarants to keep you occupied. They have limited entertainment in the evening but you are within walking distance to the main town. The bar offers plenty of choice for food throughout the day and they have a weekly BBQ which is great value for money. Children are very welcome in this
part of Cyprus so there is plenty for them to do locally."

Fantastic Location and Staff
"We spent a fantastic week at this small family apartment/hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and from the point of walking treated you as if you were family.
The hotel is a bit worn down but you cannot expect much of a 2.5 star hotel that is nearing its 20 year. The apartments are larger than you would expect, so much so that I would happily live in one if it were my home in London. Try and get a room on the 3 or 4 floor and you guarantee yourself a view of the sea. We had a corner room and it provided a view of the pool as well.
We ate in the hotel only once and the food was plenty and good value. They have weekly BBQ night on Thursday and it is very difficult to say no. Word of warning if you don't like karaoke then don't go to the BBQ night. There are plenty of restaurants around within a 10 mins walk and you can easily eat cheaply. Stick to the set menus and it works out about 25 pound sterling for 3 course dinner, with wine, water and service for 2.
All hotels in Cyprus charge for the air con on site and this is definitely something to budget for as it is largish expense. This hotels has 2 units in each room, one in the bedroom and one in the lounge. You will need the bedroom minimum. Cost is about 27 sterling per week per unit, in addition you are looking at about a tenner for the cost of weeks safety deposit box rental.
The local beach is 5 mins walk down a back alley, a shortcut we discovered or a more leisurely 10 mins on the main road. There are plenty of sunbeds and brollies. Expect to pay about a fiver a day for two beds and an umbrella.
To get about you take the bus to Ayia Napa for about a quid each form outside the Windmills Restaurant in the town centre. The bus to Fig Tree Bay, the best beach in Cyprus, goes also from there. Alternatively if there is a group of you you can hire a 7 seater Merc to take you in style for about the same cost as individual bus tickets.
Should you be travelling with children I would stongly recommend going to the Waterworld Park outside Ayia Napa. Book with your rep and expect to pay about 25 sterling a head with the transfers. It is worth it and is a fantastic day out but save it towards the end of your holiday as you will be in the sun all day.
I know I haven't really mentioned the hotel so much but it is really a base and if you stay there other than to sleep and change you might as well not go on holiday. There is so much to do and see that I regretted not having another week. I would definitily return."

Very Friendly Hotel
"Small hotel (38 rooms) so you get to know the staff and they know you. Very spacious studios and a nice modern pool set away from the main nightlife so its fairly quiet. New villas planned at the back of the hotel but the noise wasn't too bad maybe it will be worse when they start the actual villas. Air conditioning costs £3 per unit (1 unit in the studios 2 units in the apartments). Take a small fan with you to save the extra cost. Overall a great place to stay."

May 2011 with children and grandchildren
"We have been here more than once before and can't feel more comfortable and welcomed. We fell in love with the place the first time we visited and will keep going back (just booked again for later in the year :-) )
This time we were a little apprehensive because our daughter, partner and children were coming with us. Their first holiday as a family and first time to Cyprus so we weren't sure what they would think. We love the place but would they, would it be hard work with young children, would they think its not lively enough etc ?
We all had a great time, Andreas (who runs the bar/food and is there nearly all day every day) enjoyed having them around and made everyone welcome (as did all the other staff). The grandchildren were in the pool a lot and couldn't have had more fun.
We ate in the hotel several times including Andreas now legendary pork chops (I'd been telling our daughter and everyone else about these since our last visit and hoped they would like them), so good we had them again a few days later (so it looks like they are winners all round).
We had breakfasts cooked/cereal etc and all spot on (on way home our flight was cancelled and were put up in a 4 star hotel in another resort and their breakfasts were no where near as good !)
I could go on (and usually do) about all the bits of the hotel (look back to my last entry a rather long post) but I'm just going to say this - When we first went to the Livas hotel in Pernera we came away feeling like we were leaving family behind.. as we left this time our daughter had a few tears in her eyes over leaving them !
enjoy your holidays and be ready to book again !
Steve and Jackie"
