Bit of fun for any age!
"I have just returned from cyprus two days ago with my boyfriend . We booked it last minute with thomson from late deals. com and we had a brilliant time. Even though it is aimed for families with non stop entertainment we loved it! Both the parents and kids were brill!. The reps make the holiday , Boogie Baz is a legend. The hotel is a good base with loads of places to eat round the corner so do not got half board , you will miss out. It is even good if you want both the choice of going to aia napa at night but want to be away from that kind of scene in the day.
Apartments clean and also free air conditioning which is great plus a balcony!
if you dont like kids id avoid this place but for us they were great entertainment and im 21! lol.
all in all we had a lovely time just chilling by the pool , laughing at the other parents and kids doing activities and eating lush food at night.
Both of us spent 200 sterling each, but that was eating out every night including having three course dinners and downing alot of drinks
oh the the weather was great , hot with a breeze , want to go bck already"

Great Last Minute Deal!!!
"Just returned from a 7 day stay at the Elamaris. We booked last minute and it was between Cyprus or Majorca - we were glad we chose Cyprus!! The hotel is predominately a Thomson Superfamily resort, but with a 10 year old to keep entertained for a week it turned out to be a bit of a godsend! There are activities poolside from 11am until 4:15pm ranging from water basketball (good laugh) to a quiz. The children can attend a kids club for 2 hours each day and they are well catered for at the club - my 10 year old is VERY choosy and she couldn't wait to go every day. Enough said. Although there are loads of activities the reps were not pushy and accepted if you did not want to participate, which in our case was not often! The entertainment duo - Boogie Baz and Faymondo - did a great job, and I do not know how they could be so energetic, especially when the temperature was hitting 34c. We were labelled as 'Trevor' (from Eastenders) and 'little Mo' - bit of an in-house joke for the week, but all in good humour.
The rooms are basic, but clean and have everything you need - cooker, grill, toaster, kettle and cutlery etc etc. We had a 1 bedroom apartment and found it very spacious, especially the bedroom, and there is a maid service 5 days out of 7. All the rooms also have air conditioning.
We went self catering as we wanted to avoid the repetitive buffet style food that is often offered if you go half/full board at most hotels and we were glad we did (some folk we met said the food in the hotel wasn't the best). There are lovely restaurants on the doorstep of the hotel and the prices are reasonable. Can recommend Knights and Cordon Blue - Cordon Blue we discovered on the second last night and was gorgeous and the staff were excellent and very welcoming (on same side as Knights and up a few yards). The town centre of Protaras can be reached by taxi (rank right outside hotel) in 5 mins for CYP£4, and offers even more restaurants and bars. There are also supermarkets outside the hotel for newspapers, breakfast stuff, essentials.
We were only there for a week and could not fit in everything we wanted to do, but the beach within 5 mins walk of the hotel is worth a visit, the most gorgeous clear water in every shades of blue! There are also watersports available on this particular beach. We also visited Fig Tree Bay which was a nice beach.
All in all we had a great holiday here and would definately return. Had a good laugh with people we met, and were fortunate enough to be holidaying with a good crowd of people. Guy called Ollie was a great laugh and gave everyone with a laugh with his sometimes dodgy jokes!!!! Ollie - you know who you are!
Would definately return if we had children with us, but if we were going as a couple we would stay in Protaras centre.
We have never written a review on a site like this before, but felt compelled to after the good experience we had, and hope it helps future visitors to the Elamaris!"

Didn't want to leave!!!
"I travelled to the Crown Resort with my boyfriend last October as a late deal and it was a great hol!
The hotel is just outside Protaras it takes around 5 minutes in a taxi but we walked in most nights as it only took about 15 mins. Protaras has many bars and restaurants all along one main strip, Only Fools and Horses bar is a must visit, plays Only Fools and Horses all day!! We also went to the magic dancing water show which wa s a bit of a disappointment and I wouldn't recommend it!
There are plenty of bars and restaurants surrounding the Elamaris if you don't fancy going into Protaras. If you want a lively night out definatly go to Ayia Napa, there is a bus which basically goes in a circle and stops at Protaras, Ayia Napa and Paralimni and its only 80 cents each!
The rooms are pretty basic but they were very spacious and we had a pool view which was really nice. The hotel it always kept clean and spotless and staff are always friendly.
There is a small cove with a beach about 5 mins walk from the hotel which is really good for snokelling and you can also do watersports (we recommend the paragliding). The reps say the best beach is Fig Tree Bay which you have to get the bus into Protaras too but we werent very impressed we much preferred the beach near to the hotel.
The hotel was a Super Family Hotel and we were a young couple but this didn't really bother us too much as we only really stayed at the hotel in the day around the pool. At night there was entertainment but it was mainly focused on the children so we tended to go out of the hotel at night.
All in all we had a great holiday and I would definatley go back to the resort. The hotel was of a good standard but may try somewhere else if we were to visit again."

Thomson reps Adam 'N' Bex made our holiday Fab !!!!!
"Thirteen of us travelled to the Elamaris for the second time and yet again couldn't fault it in anyway. The kids reps "Amazing Alan,Kool Kelly,Yummy Yvonne,Zippy Zoe & Krazy Kay kept the youngsters aged between 3-12 yrs totally entertained for the whole two weeks. The entertainment ran day and night by ADAM & BEX was superb and can honestly say without the thomson team the hoilday wouln't have been as much fun. My son normally wouldn't leave my side but i couldn't keep him away from the thomas reps. The cleanliness of the resort was of a high standard with everything you need on the doorstep. For those wanting abit more Protaras centre is only a 5 minute taxi ride away and Aiya Napa only 15 minute taxi ride away but buses run frequently to all desination towns.
I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS RESORT TO ALL TYPES OF PEOPLE AS FUN IS GAURANTEED !!!!!!!!!"

If they're happy, I am happy
"I never did a Thomson Superamily before - but I will in future! The Kidzone, headed up by 'Amazing Allan' was a huge treat with my 3 & 8 yo kids. 2-4 hours a day of entertainment + the poolside activities at night meant they were never bored, and we got time for ourselves. Allan et al treated them as individuals and the kids thrived on their well organised events, drop-ins etc.
The hotel was OK. dated furniture and a 'cooker' that never really got hot but we got past all that. It was a bit noisy at night, but we kept the fan running o low and were never disturbed. The food was good but predictable. We ate out at the many local and varied restaurants nearby - all with great value set meals and wonderful meat and fish mezes! The pool was great and we never had a problem getting a sun lounger.
We did the waterworld park in Ayia Napa and it was excellent. No QUEUES! all rides bar one were open and it was a hot day. What more could you ask?
We really enjoyed our time, but feel Thomson excursions are not good value compared to shopping around the 2-3 travel shops near the hotel.
We never went to Protaris as we loved the wee beach at Penera 5 mins walk away from hotel. Great snorkel, scuba and sandy beach.
Will highly recommend Elamaris and Cyprus. Lovely - unless you like things really classy and fancy!!"

butlins in the sun
"Elamaris was a disappointment to say the least. the room we had was a studio. though functional, it overlooked the pool which is also where the stage is and at night the noise was deafening till midnight daily!! Fine if you're adults but if you have small children forget getting any sleep before midnight. Although we asked for a change in room 3 times this didn't materialise.
The pool area is a joke!!! The rush for sunbeds starts at 6.30am...you cannot even get a look in after 9.00. The pool is way too small for the resort and also not very clean as a result.
The location in pernera is however, excellent. a beautiful sheltered beach, sandy, shallow water, my son loved it.
The whole area around there is gorgeous and did compensate for the awful elamaris.
Some great restaurants to try...
Sizzlers, just fabulous, brilliant staff and service, they do flambe steaks which are to die for!
Culturo de gusto italian, ill cavalier, Knights pub,a littel hidden but worth the trek chopsticks chinese.
The main town is 5 minutes by taxi and great for a change. try the Red indian american diner,Anatolia.
Magic dancing waters a great show not to be missed and the water park at agia napa is a must. Also undewater helmet walking, brilliant.
Its a great location, very friendly people, gorgeous beaches and also very safe as i went as a single parent with my 7yr old and we felt totally at ease even when out late at night."

A good family destination
"Travelled with 2 children (3&5) and overall had a great time. Hotel booked through Thomson Superfamilies (chosen as we had a good time at this kind of venue last year) and certainly the highlight for our children with lots of party dances and games, parents may not like this if you don't like joining in, so be warned!. The apartment was spacious and functional although the standard of maintenance did let it down, perhaps this could be said of the whole hotel which lacked attention to detail. We were lucky to get our requested pool view and could just see the sea. The beach is a five minute walk away (Pernera bay) across some, soon to be developed scrub land, and is fairly quiet, clean, gently shelving with a good range of watersports, ideal for little ones. We visited some of the other Protaras beaches but this is definitely the best. Back at the hotel, food average and eating alfresco, albeit undercover, will not be to everyones taste. The food choice was limited compared to other hotels we have stayed at but at the same time was of a good quality. We can recommend the Waterworld park in Agia Napa (40 mins on bus door to door) and visiting the ruins at Kourion and Paphos (although quite a drive away, 3 hours approx). Troodos mountains very beautiful although a hike with some tracks rather than roads. Disappointed in Eurocar who were pretty expensive after including all the 'extras' which the reps said were inclusive and who also took my deposit even though the car was full of petrol when returned, however this was still cheaper then the Thomson excursions which did not seem to represent good value. I have a feeling that this end of Protaras is about to get very developed and busy which may very well spoil its character but for this year I refer back to my opening line."

Mixed feelings from an adults perspective
"Have just returned from the Elamaris and have a bit of a mixed review. This is most definitely the place to be for kids despite the fact there is no Karl this year, there are two more than adequate replacement in Adam & Becks. There is so much going on kids will just never get bored. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for adult entertainment. At 10pm, there is supposed to be something geared more towards the parents. One evening we had an âadult comedianâ who was quite simply the worst comedian I have seen, not even remotely funny â anyone else that was there will surely testify this! The standard of the rooms, in my opinion, was a little disappointing. There was mould under the wash hand basin taps, the shower curtain looked as if it had been there since 1950 and in all the room was fairly sub-standard. You can rent a TV for 7 CYP a week but the block we were in did not get a signal so that was a non-starter. The sunbed situation is a joke â if you are going during the school holidays you have had it, take your own!! Thomsons have put notices up stating that no sunbeds were to be âreservedâ before 9 am and that any towels left on beds for over 45 mins would be removed. This was never enforced and I donât think they have the intention of ever enforcing it.
The rooms at night are also very noisy so if you have a young family and want to call it a day before midnight, you will be disturbed by noise up until then. There were also quite a lot of teenagers running about until late at night, not causing any trouble I hasten to add but pretty high spirited. The area around the hotel is fairly limited and you are a good 25min walk from Protaras. Personal favourites in Pernera for food were Davidos, Noufaro & last but most definitely not least was the Phoenix Bar up the hill (formerly Spartacus.) The Phoenix is the best place in Pernera for breakfast (and excellent evening meals too.) Hired a car from Doros car hire across the road. We found them fairly expensive (discovered after the event) and also if you do use them, go after 4pm, as the woman at the desk in the earlier part of the day was far from helpful. To summarise the Elamaris, fantastic for kids, loads of activities and entertainment for them but not enough to keep us adults amused."

Best entertainment value for a family
"The hotel overall is clean and tidy. It is very near to a lot of good resturants. Bennigan's is a must to eat at. All the staff and reps in the hotel make you feel very welcome. The poolside entertainment is excellant, well done to Kim & Karl! There is different entertainment on every night. It is only about 15min walk into Protaris which is full of good pubs and cocktail bars. The shopping is good also. I would recomend this hotel to anyone."

"My family recently stayed at the Elamaris hotel and had a great holiday, it was very relaxing. There was entertainment day and night with the Thomson Entertainers, Carl and Kim, who were both very good at keeping the guests entertained. The hotel staff were very friendly and the service was good. There are lots of bars, restaurants and shops near by and only a short bus ride to Protaras and Fig Tree Bay where we found more bars, restaurants and shops. The only downside to this holiday was the food at the hotel, which we thought was not up to the standard of other hotels we have stayed in."

4 Star NEVER!!!!
"This hotel needs reviewing. This is no way a 4STAR. We have stayed in 4star all over the place Spain,Barbados,Gran Canerie & Pathos all these places have been brilliant. This Hotel needs revamping, more staff, brought up to date & the food!!!! What can i say!DO NOT GO ALL INCLUSIVE.Its a BASIC hotel & would be suitable for girlie holidays & lads holidays who pop over to Aiya Napa then can sleep it off all day. There is more to say but would need more space. Other than that Protaras is beautiful"
