"I stayed at the Amore for two weeks commencing May 7th. Overall a very good hotel but would loved to have had a hot shower than tepid. Also the toilet system needs an upgrade. However, the overall stay was so comfortable and welcoming and the reception staff were so friendly, especially Caroline with whom I had many interesting conversations. Beautiful settings, especially the swimming pool and surrounds. "

Great holiday great people
"We booked this holiday last minute and didn't have great expectations, but was pleasantly surprised! Kapparis is a small quite town with some nice bars and resturants. The locals are very friendly and very welcoming. We stayed at the Amore hotel which again considering it's rating of a 2* was again a pleasant surprise. Rooms are clean and basic with air con available. The staff at the hotel are very polite and very helpful. The owners of this hotel are really lovely people and accomodating. We would most definately reccomend a stay at the Amore hotel. Also the local beach which is only a ten minute walk is well worth a visit with its singing sandwich bar on top of the hill. we look forward to going back next year for a 2 week stay this time. many thanks Tony and the lovely Susan.x"

A relaxing week
"A spontaneous one week holiday for my friend and I, booked Saturday 23rd May 2009 flew out Sunday 24th. We had no preconceptions of the venue, as the requirement was a last minute cheap holiday purely for a rest. I am a firm believer in âwhat you pay for is what you getâ. We on the other hand thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will return in the near future, for more sun, sea and relaxation! The staffs at the Amore were very welcoming especially Tony Hajihannas aka Tony Costas from the wrestling world. This holiday, in my opinion, is ideal for people wanting a relaxing peaceful holiday or for families with very small children. This area does not have the facilities for teenagers desiring fair ground attractions, loud music or other teenagers. The Amore Hotel/Apartments are clean spacious but basic. They include a fridge, a two-ringed electric cooker, a kettle and basic utensils/crockery/dishes. Air conditioning is available but at an additional cost. The pool area was well maintained and clean, with plenty of sun lounges. Some of the evening entertainment included two impersonators âElvisâ and âMeatloafâ; both nights were really enjoyable and good entertainment. There is supermarket opposite the apartments and other bars and restaurants nearby, although the food at the Amore is very palatable. The majority of locals are ex- pats, the area is not for tourists wanting the high life and therefore, a visit into Protaras itself or Ayia Napa is recommendation. Protaras is a ten-minute drive by car and a good hourâs walk. There is a bus service, which is about 15 minutes walk away from the apartments. Ayia Napa is about 15 minutes drive away and provides many more attractions. Thanks to Tony and staff for making our holiday memorable. "

will return - love the amore and cyprus
"I agree with Jordan, we've just come back after our second trip to cyprus and the amore and it suited us down to the ground - it's very relaxing and fairly quiet and although the rooms are basic they do the job - we didn't spend long in them anyway but loved to spend the evening on the balcony overlooking the pool which is great, cleaned every day and plenty of lungers to go around. The area probably wouldn't suit everyone, but if you're looking for somewhere away from the crowds it's a great base to explore the island, has a nice beach a few minutes walk away and lots of nice restaurants and bars within walking distance. The owners are lovely and very helpful and made us feel very welcome, we hope to return soon :-)"

A relaxing enjoyable break
"we booked last minute with libra and flew 8 hours later read some of the reveiws and wondered what we were heading for. But all fears and aprehensions were not justified as when we arrived at the Amore we were greeted by a freindly receptionist and Mr Hajihannas . I soon learnt that he was the owner and from day one he and his staff could not do enough my wife being disabled was immediatly offered a ground floor room but declined after reveiwing our appartment. Our room was clean and tidy the fridge on and a two burner cooker with a kettle air conditioning was extra (but thats common practice ) we walked down to the pool area a very well mantained and clean area with plenty of comftable sun loungers .the bar over looks the pool and is open till about 2 am in the morning prices have to be determined as to your budget during the week we had a barbacue night an Elvis night with Kareoke and a kareoke on the friday there are plenty of bars and taverns on the strip offering every sort of entertainment and food although the food at the Amore is of good quility the hotel is well suited to young familys and those wanting a quite break there is a safe sandy beach within walking distance and a couple of well stocked supermarkets the holliday rep calls everyday and comes round the pool (shows thomas cook up) you can organise trips through the rep or the very helpful reception this trip was our twentyfifth wedding anniversary and we cant wait to go back to see Susana and Tony and there very compitent staff thanks for a great time sharan and terry"

"I just went to this hotel3 days ago and I dont know what you people are talking about saying all things bad about it. They have made more big improvments on this hotel since any of you have been the pool table is new they have 2 driving games 2 machine game a toy grabber machine and a surprise machine and a air hockey table you can touch the cats you just cant feed them and they are not doing any harm. Tony is very nice and it was lovely to meet him and his wife susana. All you like to do is complain about things! The maid come in every 2 day and they change the sheets 3 times a week think yourself lucky you werent on a worse holiday. I loved ever bit of it apart from getting sunburnt!"

Sunshine Was The Best Bit!!!!
"Me, my Boyfriend & His family, Stayed at the Amore Hotel in August 2008.!! The bus to the hotel takes about a hour as you will be the last one off it. The sunshine was beautiful, Hottest time of the year, we Came home with beautiful tans. As for the holiday it was good when we went into Protaras.. Shops Were Amazing..Protaras Was A lovely place.. Wish we had of Stayed there..The people were so friendly to everyone. As for the Amore hotel it was basic, cleaners once a week!! which they used to pinch our empty water bottles what we needed to fill them back up for another day.. The cutlery was dirty on our first day on arrival.. The seats in the living room area were dirty with urine stains, there was sand on the floors, Our air conditioning broke down in the first week which was blowing out hot air, something you dont need when its boilig hot outside and in. We Asked for Tony the hotel owner to see what the problem was. He told us that it was or fault shouting and swearing at us. We should have turned it off. Well you cant because the key to get in your door operates it. His helper Apologised to us for his swearing, (he was hopeless). As for things to do for the kids absolutly nothing to do as i have a child he was 6 at the time there were two swings, were you could not let them go on there own, the games room.. pool table had a big rip in it so that was out of order it had a couple of car games and that was the lot. We Also got told to be quiet when we were around the pool becasue we were making to much noise, as people were sleeping, so we really could not do a thing. There were cats sitting around the restaurant at your feet when you were having something to eat.. There was a notice on the restaurant window.(Please do not Touch the cats they are not vaccinated). We only had 2 meals at the hotel, the food was not up to much we found it better eating out. I would Not recomened this hotel to any one. Staying at this hotel has really put me of ever going back to Cyprus!!"

"Was very basic and dated, not the cleanest of places but alright for getting your head down and showering. Susannah and Tony were helpful in every way and always asking how we were. If wanting to book on boat trips or the like book thru the hotel and Susannah booked for us and was cheaper and we got picked up at the door!! Food at hotel not too great but barbecue night was good. Linen changed on the Thursday (we got there on the Sunday). Would go back to see Tony and Susannah and stay for a week or so. "

"Really clean apartments and excellent cleaning service with maids on hand on a daily basis. They are quite basic and an oven or microwave would be of great benefit as your cooking is quite limited with the facilities available. We found the owners Tony and Susana simply lovely people and so willing to please and help their guests. We would say this hotel is more suited to older couples as there is not a lot of entertainment in the immediate area for children and certainly not for teenagers. If you want peace at night it makes an excellent base for everyone as Protaras and Ayia Napa are both not too far away. A new bus service has been introduced but as yet it does not operate at night, the time people like to go out but taxis are readily available if you want one. Would use this hotel again as the friendliness, cleanliness and hospitality are very good. The swimming pool and poolside are very clean with sunbeds for everyone. Kath & Frank "

"Me and my partner booked this hotel as a last minute holiday, and really enjoyed it. The hotel is quite basic but very clean, the pool was nice and cleaned out every morning. The hotel maids came everyday, changing bedsheets twice a week. The people are friendly and helpful, they booked our taxi's for us and gave us directions and information on whatever we wanted. The hotel food was nice, which has english meals aswell and others. The rep was very helpful and gave us tips on what was the best attractions in protaras and aiya napa. This hotel is good for families and couples who want a relaxing holiday, but the night life is just short taxi/bus journey away. The beach is a short walk away, with golden sand and clear waters. There is lots of building work going, so next year there will be more bars and will be more and more popular. We would go back with our children."

"My husband and I stayed here for a belated honeymoon. The rooms were very basic to the point we had to eat out every meal as there was not even a knife that would cut the bread. Nothing matched in the apartment and things seemed dusty and tacky to the touch in the cupboards so everything had to have boiling water on it before we could use it. The maid did not come in every day so the floors ended up gritty with the sand. It did have plenty of sun beds around the pool so you could have your pick. If all you want from a holiday is just sit by the pool and have a drink then this is not a bad place but if you want to see anything then you need a car. I would not stay at these apartments again as I have been back to the same part and stayed in a lovely private rent apartment with home from home comforts, so would recommend checking these out as you can get a bargain."
