Don't come here without a car
"The main point is don't come here without transport. Totally isolated. We were self catering, nowhere to shop. Onsite mini market inadequate. We had teenagers, nothing for them. WiFi poor. We made the best of it and tried to do our own thing. Had some issues with the room which were not sorted out. Enjoyed our holiday but it was harder than it needed to be. Male dominated staffing, very old fashioned by our standards. If you hire a car or budget to taxi around the west coast, will probably do better than us. If you want to relax and nothing else, it will be fine."

not 4 star
"We were told a bus runs from apartments.it does not you have to hire a car or rely on taxis. the local buses are very limited we waited for over a hour bus never turned up. it is too far to walk into paphos, there is no entertainment people putting towels on sun beds and not using them until later in day.indoor swimming pool dirty. apartments were not cleaned daily and we had to ask for clean towels after 5 days.Food was awful and desert was always melon and same salads day after day. breakfast cereal awful and eggs hard,we had to eat out most of the time..this definitely isn't 4 star more like 2 star."

"Well what can we say pretty much the same as the last comment. We were advised that it was a fantastic new complex. The travel agent - Sunmaster told us that it was 25 minutes from Larnaca airport. When we arrived we went out to get a taxi to be told it would cost £200.00 in a taxi with two children and four cases in tow and no other option we progressed to St Nicholas. The taxi driver didn't have a clue where he was going - when we finally arrived two and half hours later. It was a building site, we arrived to a man greeting us by a taxi saying "wait there". He then brought our key down and said a lady will be here in five minutes - the lady arrived she was full of the joys of spring asked how much we'd paid said we had been ripped on and come to the wrong place as the sister resort Coral Bay was better - she then proceeded to ask us for 6 euros a day for the air conditioning, even though we had been told it was all included she then requested a deposit for the room. The facilities were abysmal - reception and supermarket closed as someone had returned to England for an emergency - this is the story we were given. No supermarket for miles and no car to get there as we hadn't been advised we would need one. 10 mins from the beach - 20 minute drive in the car. Gym and indoor swimming pool/ sauna closed. 1 bar opening hours 10,00 - 19.00 bearing in mind we had no car- what on earth were my two children going to eat??. One of the only apparently hotels in Cyprus without a generator - we did do a shop by taxi for the whole week spent 150.00 only for all the food to go off as the electricity went off and on all day. Please note throughout this time you can not get any food at he hotel either as they can't cook without electricity. No entertainment 100% not 5* or 4* in my opinion more like 2* Please read all reviews before booking this as we spent £1,700 pound for a week as we needed a relatively cheap holiday this year with eventual car hire in day 4 we spent 3,000 in total. Hope this helps"

ideal for famalies seeking fun and for couples wanting to relax
"brilliant place. has 4 out door pools and 1 in door pool. all very clean although the flooring/tiles of the pools were peeling off. The restaurant was good value for money, but the rooms also had ovens and microwaves for cooking. There is no room cleaning/ services as this place is not a hotel, but all cleaning equipment are available. there are 1 or 2 super markets in the village of chlorakas, but 3-4 mins drive away, there is a large supermarket. this place is about 5-7 min away from the centre of paphos ( by car). Also about 15 min away by car from the harbour. I had a car and would recommend one if you need to make several l trips. We would go back and hope they dont put up Prices!!!!"

An excellent complex with laid back atmosphere
"We stayed in two apartments here in the first week of August 2009. Both were found very clean - one had all new equipment - and as described. Both rooms were spacious and modernly designed with good sized-balconies looking out over swimming pools. The site's facilities were excellent - many swimming pools of differing sizes, depths and designs including an indoor pool for when the sun was too hot. There was also a good quality tennis court, jacuzzi, sauna and a well-equipped gym. The on-site shop was good although, as expected, expensive compared to the local supermarkets. The restaurant served good food, although service was quite slow. All in all this was a very good quality apartment complex with a laid back atmosphere which undoubtedly enhanced our holiday. Perhaps the only major criticism is its location which makes it difficult to get to the beach or most restaurants/bars without a taxi. We were charged 12 Euros to get into Paphos centre for 6 people which isn't too much, but it could mount up if you did this every day of your holiday. That said, there is a lot more to do in the area than just going to Paphos, and the on-site office had details of coach and jeep excursions that left from the site."

What more could you ask for in service
"From start to finish a holiday to savour. Accomodation superb, excellent value, the service provided from booking to the onsite help with any questions was fantastic. The restuarant was comprehensive, great value and food 9 out of 10. The staff along with the resort facilities really make this tremendous for adults and families alike. Have spoke to many people since my return and I will return without any hesitation."

Fantastic resort, excellent facilities, helpfull staff, definitely would return
"My husband has been quite stressed recently so I wanted to take him away for a relaxing break. Given the lo cost flights and the charm of Cyprus we decided to book a week's break in Paphos. We came across St Nicholas after reading about the awards it had won, online reviews and seeing the pictures it looked perfect. I don't normally get the time to do online reviews but I was compelled to write about St Nicolas for three reasons. 1) I could not have met friendlier and helpfull staff who were there at your every whim, "Wendy & Colin, thank you for your excellent service" 2) The facilities here are just as good as a five star hotel (without 5 star prices). There are 3 swimming pools (Indoor & Outdoor) Jacuzzi, Gym, Tennis courts and even a mini cinema available for guests to use. 3) Finally the finish and decoration here is of a very high standard. I have already told all my friends about the place and we are all planning a group trip their next year."

Best Place to Be for Summer!!
"It was perfect. Went with friends this August and we had a lovely time. The apartments were large enough to fit the three of us. The decoration of this elegant apartments was luxurious. The location was good, but to get to the harbour you need a car. The swimming pool was awesome, we just didn't want to get out. The service was really good. We had internet as well. Very quiet to relax and enjoy it with friends and family, even for kids. Many thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Hamilton for the enjoyable stay. Will definitely recommend it to everyone. Will do revisit!!!!! :)"

GREAT PLACE - A REAL PLEASURE TO STAY HERE
"My wife and I only booked this apartment a week before we went. We always aim for 4* accommodation as often aboard accommodation is not as high standards as UK. How pleasantly surprised we were when we reached St Nicolas Apartments. These are fantastic apartments in a quiet area north of the old town of Paphos. We would highly recommend them, as there are a number of swimming pools suitable for all age children and the accommodation is very modern, clean and extremely well maintained. We hired a one-bedroom apartment in Julia House on Phase 2 of the resort. What a great view - it's a sea view with a pool view as well. Would recommend Room 302. Apartment is well maintained and has all mod cons - free Air Con, English channel TV, DVD (we watched our own DVDs we brought some evenings). We would recommend a hire car - book it before you go and drive from the airport - it will be cheaper & its only 30mins to the airport. Pre advise of directions on how to get to the property were excellent, although we arrived at 01.00 and whilst this was out of hours there were still good procedures put in place to make sure we got to our apartment and received our keys. Certainly will be going back - would like to look at the 2 bed apartment and even a villa!! Very quiet and a great place to relax and re-charge your batteries. Go on and go to Cyprus and stay here - cannot recommend this highly enough."

St Nicholas Apartments (Residences) Chlorakas Paphos Cyprus
"This is a very new Complex approx 3 km (2 Miles) from 'Old Paphos' and approx 5km (3 Miles) from Paphos Harbour; the complex opened in Sept 2008. All of the Apartments are very modern and the Pool areas are brilliant for Families. There are seperate pools of varying depths to suit very young children with differing swimming capabilities. There is a very good Restaurant and Bar on site which can provide excellent Breakfasts, Lunches and Evening Dinners. Children have a seperate menu which is also fairly comprehensive from a "Wee Ones" perspective! My 5 yr old Grandson was not disappointed, food was good and in plenty. The prices in the Restaurant are very competitive. I also found that neither quality, nor quantity left anything to be desired! The ROPUK Management Team, (who take care of things on behalf of the Apartment Owners) are Colin and Wendy Hamilton; who could not have been more helpful! (Thanks again!) Car Hire can also be arranged through Colin and Wendy. I hired a car through them, after a few days, I asked for a change from a "Jeep" type vehicle to a car with A/C ( Wife was unhappy being Windblown!). An exchange car was at the complex less than an hour later! I will be back. Unfortunately; not this year! Doug Harris"

St Nicholas Residences Chlorakas
"I have recently returned from a 14 day stay at this complex. (There is still a small amount of construction work under way; to complete some of the 'Villas' at the edge of the complex; though it did not have any effect on us). The complex is of 5* Standard; in our opinion. It is very much a quiet "Family Holiday" location. The 'Main' swimming pools are adjoining, with a small "waterfall" between the two, the 'lower' pool being the shallower and designed for children. Our 5 Year old Grandson could play safely without his armbands in this depth of water; though we still kept watch! The 'Upper' pool had some deeper areas for Adult swimming but was still safe enough for children with Armbands to use. This is very much a 'Family' complex and we all kept an eye on the children! The Apartments are very modern with A/C, TV and a small but modern Kitchen. There is also a washing machine in each Apt. There is a small shop on site which supplies the 'basics'. There is a good 'Spar' type store within a 10 minute walk. If you have transport, there is a very large "Carrefour" Supermarket (as good as a large ASDA) within a 10 minute drive. We found out, very quickly, that St Nicholas Residences are quite a distance from Paphos Harbour (approx 5km / 3 Miles)and approx 3km from 'Old Paphos'. I would advise considering Car Hire for the duration of your stay, or at least from the day after arrival until departure. (If you do not Hire, expect to pay a minimum of 20 Euros per day in Taxi fares to go even short distances from the complex). We found that the prices in Restaurant and Bar on site were comparable to those in Paphos Harbour. (We split our evenings between the Harbour area, Coral Bay; and the complex Restaurant). The quality of food in the on site Restaurant is also good and in plenty! We would go back tomorrow. Doug Harris "

One of the best resorts of this type we have stayed in.
"St Nicolas far exceeded our expectations. Most impressive is the quality of the resort - it is beautiful, finished to a very high standard, and very clean. Our apartment was right next to the pool and restaurant, and was large, well furnished and well equipped. The food is some of the best we've had in this type of resort: consistently tasty, a large selection and pretty well priced. The pools were lovely and the staff friendly. It is a little way from Paphos and the beach, but with a young family we were more than happy to stay mostly in the complex, especially since we didn't get bored with the restaurant menu. We will be going back in the next 3 months!"
