Best holiday we've had
"We have just returned from a 2 week stay , we got married at the resort and would recommend it to anyone. Elena and the majority of staff were so friendly and helpful and made us feel like royalty ,nothing was too much trouble for them. The rooms are clean and spacious , pool and entertainment was great , and the food was amazing even though I am the worlds fussiest eater, the portions are massive!. Within walking distance there are plenty of shops and great restaurants to choose from. The beach was a little bit stoney but it doesn't bother you that much, ourselves and wedding guests are already looking into booking up for next year because we all had such a great time . There's something to do for all ages and the entertainment team are fantastic. I'm not really a review writing person ( as you may have guessed!) but had such an amazing wedding/ holiday that I felt I had to. Thank you Kefalos 10/10"

"Firstly pay extra for the sea view â its so worth it. The room was very spacious and had everything required (fridge, crockery etc). The bathroom was also roomy and had fresh towels if not daily then every other. Both rooms very clean. The girls enjoyed the ride to the room in the golf buggy! Sun loungers round the pool were popular but the loungers situated on the grass were plentiful. We preferred these as less noisy. Donât put a towel out till after 8am as grass sprinklers will soak them. Never had a problem obtaining a sunbed. Although we didnât participate in the activities our 2 16yr olds did and enjoyed themselves. Especially popular was the kayak race in the pool. The outdoor pool was really warm but one side of it is deep (about 6â 6â) so unable to stand. The indoor pool was good too, although smaller it was much cooler so good to cool off. The beach area is ok but very stony and lots of seaweed (but hey itâs a beach). It was easier to go down the man made steps into the sea - just a bit rough at times. Keep a check on the rip-tides too. Breakfast at the hotel was lovely â a full spread of hot & cold and always plentiful. We also ate in the hotel one evening and that was good too. Itâs only a short walk to a stretch of shop and restaurants. Fat Mamas/Cowboy Willies was the most popular but there were enough to keep everyone happy. Many of the restaurants also had a set price 3 course meal for approx 13 euros. We also got the bus to Paphos harbour a few times (1euro) each way and there many promenade eateries too. The Captains View and The Harbour â I considered to be the best. Taxi there was only 5 euros too which was good value for the 4 of us. I should mention that a number of restaurants had closed down owing to the recession â sad as the locals were very friendly. The evening entertainment at the hotel was good too â varied and enjoyable (usually finished about 11-15). The bar shuts about 12pm and there are no nightclubs which is brill as not noisy. All in all I would defo recommend this hotel as a relaxing peaceful place to stay. We went to see the Coral bay beach - but found it wall to wall sun lougers and loud music, not to mention busy, more sardine like!"

Wonderful Holiday at the Kefalos
"unfortunately Returned home 3 days ago from the kefalos beach village apts, could have stayed another week even though we were ther for a fortnight, looks more like a 4 star hotel! My husband and i stayed in a one bed apartment which was spacious and loads of storage space, the maid came in every single day with fresh towels, and clean bedding every other day and kept it spotless. Our apt was on the beach with amazing veiws from our balcony looking at the waves, so relaxing coming back for a nightcap.., always plenty of sunbeds round the pool as well as the beach front, so you have a choice whether you want a sunbed by the pool or on the beach and not having to pay sunbed charges on the beach as its private, theres also steps made to get into the sea for a swim the waters only about 3 or 4 foot and is very safe. The entertainment is quite good at the hotel although we prefer to go out of an evening with some lovley resturants in the resort, didn't have a bad meal the whole fortnight, FAT MAMAS is brilliant ! METAXA itialian is really nice too and must try tea for two opposite side from fat mamas the scones are beautiful and enormous ! they also do nice evening meals. Aeuro bus trip or stroll to the harbour from kato paphos is amust, the harbour is lovley, pick up a boat trip from here or book it and they will pick you up at your hotel the sea star is a really nice lazy day cruise. I have had a lot of holidays and for the first time i recieved an e-mail from the hotel manager on my return checking if i was happy with everything and thanking us for staying with them. We will certainly return to the Keffalos beach village!"

What a superb hotel, holiday and resort....
"What a superb hotel, holiday and resort. We have just come home from a 14 day holiday at Kefalos (me, my husband, my mother and father in law). We arrived near middnight, had a quick check-in and was taken straight to our rooms (we had 2 apartments) by golf buggy. The rooms were exceptionally roomy, clean, and well equiped. A kitchen area complete with table and chairs, twin beds and a pull down sofa if needed. The rooms were fully air conditioned which we could control ourselves, maid service including daily changing of towels, a hairdryer and would you believe it a TV which actually had at least 3 english channels.... The only thing missing was an iron, which is available from reception on request. The complex itself is superb, the pool is idyllic with a little bridge spanning across the pool, inflatable toys supplied by the hotel for the kids, a well stocked poolside bar (including food) and all surrounding areas spotless. Plenty of sunbeds available around the pool and outside showers and poolside loos. As the hotel is situated directly on the beach, there is also a large grass area of sunbeds situated on the beach as well. There is a laundry room, fully equipped gym, jacuzzi and massage available, mini supermarket, tennis courts, football pitch and even a small chapel- where three weddings were conducted during our two week stay. The dining room is clean and well maintained, the waiters and hotel staff are efficient, polite and always willing to help. The choice of food you couldn't fault, all buffet style, eat as much as you like. Breakfast had everything you could possibly want, cereal, fruit, continental and of course your full english breakfast. Fruit juices, tea, coffee hot chocolate, you name it, it was available. The evening meals were superb, several different salads, always a soup and all types of meat and fish dishes, kiddies menu and veggie option as well. Fruit, ice-cream and puds if you can manage it. The Entertainment staff, Boris and Frank, were excellent they tirelessly orgainsed sports activitiies throughout the day (volleyball, water polo, football, darts tournament, table tennis tournament and the list goes on) and in the evening, its Bingo Bango Bongo (hilarious Bingo with great alcoholic and cash prizes), Elvis impressionist - very funny... Parrot show, fire eating show, karioke, disco night etc. etc. There is also a bar if you don't want all the excitment, situated in the reception and is normally quiet with a TV (sky sports was my husbands favourite) if you want it The one thing we didn't expect, and a bonus as far as we were concerned, if you don't want to carry cash around with you (especially if you are beside the pool or on the beach), you can charge anything to your room and pay for it on the morning you are leaving. The hotel is situated very central. Coral Bay - 10 minutes drive up the road or a 15 minute bus ride from the top of the road (a must if you want a sandy beach as most beaches, including the one at the hotel are very rocky and not ideal for kids). The Harbour - again 10 minute drive or 15 minute bus ride (or a lovely 30 minute walk from the hotel along the coast line) the harbour has lots of restaurants and gift shops and half way into your walk there is a archeological site for the history lovers, with a ruin of an ampitheatre and some superb mosaic floors and remnant buidings. The aphrodite waterpark is a 15 minute drive away and has an excellent wave pool and some pretty scary slides. There are plenty of restaurants, bars, shops and even a nightclub a 3 minute walk from the hotel - So as you can see, plenty to do both in and outside the resort. I cannot fault anything. The only thing that let it down for me is that the beach adjacent to the hotel was very rocky and in places what looked like sand was actually a clay substance and could be very very slippery - but a small price to pay for the wonderful setting and it's not so bad if you tread carefully. If you enjoy trips when abroad, the one trip that you must try is "Georges funbus". Your rep may not tell you about this one, but what a scream. Site seeing, swimming, lots and lots of singing and sillyness and a fantastic BBQ to end the day with as much food and drink as you can manage. You will never experience another trip like this one and worth every penny! - I'm still smiling everytime I think of this trip. My in-laws are late 60's - early 70's and have travelled far and wide over the years and they both agree, this is the best hotel they have stayed in and is excellent value for money. We all agreed that without a doubt we will return to Kefalos "

I have just returned from a week at Kefa...
"I have just returned from a week at Kefalos Beach and would happily recommend the place to anyone. The resort itself is laid out like a little village with the pool and reception central. there are 43 'blocks laid out around the village half of which have 6 one bedroom appts and the rest with four bedsit style appts. They are laid out like little cypriot streets lined with gorgeous shrubery and greens. The appt was fully equipped, kettle, toaster, microwave oven, full range of utensils, pots and pans. the appt itself was a good size and the added bonus of english plugs saved the hassle of travel plugs etc. the boyfriend was loving the fact that the tv had bbc1 & 2 also as he got to catch match of the day lol. They have a double sofabed and a single one, a full power hairdryer ( Im a hairdressor and I found it sufficent so don't bother bringing one ) the livingroom and the bedroom are seperatly airconditioned ( a tip may be to use the fan setting as if your not used to air con it can make your throat a bit scratchy) and they mercifully provided a clothes airer which meant I could launder all the clothes and they would dry in an hour. The maid service was impeccable. they came every day and were very flexable with times to come back if we needed it. towels and sheets were crisp and clean and they were only too happy to get us extra pillows when we requested them ( even though I later found out you request these at reception ) The pool area is spotless and theres scuba lessons, massages and sport activity available around it. The resteraunt was excellent for breakfast. Fruit, cereals, cooked meats and eggs, toast, coffee, juice etc so everyone is catered for ( they even had hp sauce tho we hunted all the other shops and couldnt find it lol ) one of the couples with us had three children and as KIDS EAT BREAKFAST FOR FREE , it worked out much cheaper for them to eat there than buy outside and make themselves. The pool bar and cafe provides a varied menu, most places do chips and burgers and thats it. More than adequate and reasonable. Theres also a childrens park, and I mean a PARK, not a swing set and a dilapidated slide . The hotel is right on the beach and i literally mean on it so theres a great breeze all day. All in all we had a FANTASTIC time and I wouldn't hesitate for a moment recommending it to either a romantic break for two or a family holiday."

We have just returned from a weeks holid...
"We have just returned from a weeks holiday at Kefalos Beach Village. Everything was terrific. The rooms were very spacious and clean(although a bit old fashioned but it all added to the whole cypriot thing!) We travelled with our 8 month old baby and everything was catered for. There was a microwave in the kitchenette and a clean travel cot in our room, with clean sheets replaced every day. The pool itself and surrounding area was spotless and always enough sunbeds and umberellas, no matter what time of day it was. So definately no need to get up at silly-o'clock in the morning to put your towels out. The food in the restaraunt was great every day with enough choice for everyone and the staff were friendly and helpful - perhaps the odd smile from some wouldnt go a miss tho! The whole setting was great and we came home feeling like we had a holiday. I would definately consider booking up for next year too. Enjoy yourself if your just about to go, we are very jealous. "

hi we have just returned from our first ...
"hi we have just returned from our first 2 wk holiday abroad together as a family, my husband and i have 3 children aged 9, 5 yrs and 18mhts. we abs. loved kefalos beach village and cyprus. upon arriving we were very efficiently checked in at reception everything explained to us and keys handed over. we were then taken on a golf buggy and all our suitcases to our apartment, which was not too far away but lovely not to have to drag all our suitcases, a pushchair and our 3 children in what was very hot weather!!!!!!!! the porter insisted on carrying every suitcase up to our room, my husband tried to help but bless him he would have none of it. my mum and dad also came on hols to kefalos with us and were offered exactly the same treatment. we were shown how to work everything in the apartment, which by the way was a one bedroom one and was lovely. spotlesstly clean and with everything you needed. the towels were on the beds and made into swans which my kids thought was great! there was air-conditioning units in the main area and in the bedroom these were fab and were extremely efficient, you can alter the temperature and speed etc. a must for the temperatures we were gonna experience. after unpacking a bit we walked up to the tomb of the kings road which was literally a 2 min walk, there were many bars/restaurants to choose from prices of course varied. on our second night upon recommendation from my mums cousin we walked upto a restauraunt called karlina which is up past kfc and just opposite the turning to tomb of the kings. from the second we entered we knew we were going to like it here, the staff were so friendly and welcoming. in the end we went here every night of our stay because the service they provided was amazing, there choice of menu excellent and so resonable compared to many others. they made a real fuss of my children and would do anything to please you and accomodate your needs. karlina have a set menu of 3 courses, which offered a many options in each course all for £11.95 euros which we felt was excellent. everything we tried was beautifully cooked and presented lovely. the service is so efficient we really cannot praise harry, andreas and the team at karlina enough, so please visit. everyone goes on about fat mammas which is further down but you had to que to get in there, it was quite expensive and the portions massive, loads of people left there meals because of there simply being too much (so we were told by others at the kefalos). anyway back to the kefalos the complex was kept to any exceptional standard rooms cleaned daily. the paths were swept daily and the plants etc. kept so tidy. it really is a lovely setting for a wide variety of people. the pools were excellent my kids were hardly out of them. these of course were cleaned daily. there was a great pool bar, that served drinks and food and ice creams with a good selection. there were many sunbeds, although these were sometimes reserved quite early but of course the hotel cannot be blamed for this. there were also lots of sunbeds on the grassed area which led to the beach, this was a lovely spot my mum and dad took to relaxing here a lot. the complex also has a laundrette and supermarket which was very well stocked and the staff lovely. we stayed on a bed & breakfast option which was great it was served from 7 till 10 and you can have whatever you liked which included a whole host of foods to suit everyone's needs, cake yogurt more continental breakfasts, cereals, toast, bread, and of course fried breakfast, orange juice/grapefruit tea, coffee and loads more. again the staff in all the restaurants were very hard and were lovely. we have only been home 4 days and our so depressed at being back in wet england, and thinking of booking up for next year!!!!!!!!! i cannot recommend the kefalos enough the staff our an asset the hotel and they should be very proud! we all loved our holiday so much and being our first hols together abroad it has only made us wanting more!!!!!!!!!! i have also forgot to mention the kids club, this was on twice and day and my two older children loved this, karin was great with them. the hotel also provided lots of daily activities to keep your busy if you wanted to join in also in the evenings. we cannot recommend kefalos enough and of course cyprus which is a lovely place. hope this helps, we met some lovely people during our stay, hi to sam, abbie-lou and partner, dave, rochelle and summer and devon and barry, anna and sophie!!!!!!!! I went with my family to celebrate my ma...
"I went with my family to celebrate my marriage blessing following my wedding in December 2007. 14 of us stayed at the kefalos Village (for 14 days). We had 4 apartments between all of us. We had booked 3 1 bedroom seaview apartments (1 was BB and 2 were 1/2 board) and 1 studio apartment (where my parents and 1 daughter stayed). When we arrived at the hotel on friday morning at 4.00am, we were told that the seaview rooms we had booked would be unavailable until Sunday. You can imagine our disappointment as we had booked these rooms in February!! We were told that they had upgraded us to 1/2 board anf full board respectively until the move to the seaview rooms. we were also offered the safe free of charge. We did not have much choice but to accept at the time. We were taken to our rooms by the infamous golf cart. Even in our tired state, that was quite fun, and to be honest we could not have lugged our luggage all the way to the room not with the kids as well! On the Saturday, having reflected on the compensation for the rooms we spoke to the manager Vasili -who by the way is is a very friendly and sunshiny fellow. We thought that for the inconveneince we should be upgraded for at least the week. especially as I was getting married on the Monday and was living out of a box! He came back to us on the Sunday and offered us the upgrade throughout our holiday if we stayed in the rooms we were already in. My sister and I accepted as we were happy with our rooms, but my brother and sister in law, moved to the seaview room on the Sunday. As I visited them - as far as I was concerned I still had the benefit of a seaview room! I felt all things considered as did my sister, that we had a good deal in the end. The apartment was quite large and spacious. The bedroom had twinbeds pushed together. This was fine as it's more or less normal in these types of accommodation. The girls were happy with their beds as well. These were sofa beds. The kitchen was fully kitted out with a microwave as well (I have never had a mircowave -even in the villas we have used before -luxury!!). The next day we went to breakfast and the buffet breakfast had a full choice for everyone. This only changes marginally with pancakes or such like. the sausages are done either British style -fried or German - boiled, it's rare to have both types on the same day -some people may not like that - we didn't mind. After 14 days you may want some vairiety -my dad for instance did not go for breakfast everyday because he said it was boring. I on the other hand thought that there was so much variety that you could if you wished have something different everyday. i didn't though - I enjoyed my usual everyday. Lunch was a bit same-ish and to be honest this was the time I was happy to eat out -especially while exploring the sights. Dinner (my free upgrade) changed everyday. The only day I didn't particularly like was Tuesdays -Asian nights. The desserts were the same more or less every night. My sister in law and I are chocoholics and were always on the look out for a choccy dessert - when ever there was one - we would take our dessert first as there were loads of other chocoholics!! I think they should take the hint.... However good value if you pay for this. My other guests (there were 41 in all) joined us for dinner most nights and really enjoyed it. As paying guests they thought it was really good value for money. After dinner there was always an activity - unashamadely we all took part every single night - it was the best fun - Boris is a laugh and really set the tone. We had Binga Bonga Banga (bingo) every night. My nephew won 145 euros. My sister won a 1 hour massage. We took part in Karioke, hypnotism, beach nite, greek night. We were there until about 1 in the morning - we made quite a few friends as a result even though we were quite a large party ourselves. My husband & I were given jacuzzi passes by another couple when they found ourt were were getting married on the monday. We had loads of good wishes from everyone one - and met other couples getting married as well. The hotel staff were always willing to help. The rooms got cleaned everyday, and the towels were changed at the sametime. The cleaners were very friendly as well. The boys were always playing table tennis, volley ball, or football everyday -they had tournaments and prizes were won too. My brother who was concerned that he would be bored with a 14 day stay was suitable satisfied and did not really ready to leave -result! The girls enjoyed the jacuzzi and massage -excellent! decadent!! totally relaxing -Recommended! Despite our initial disapointment -Kefalos was great - we would definately go back. We have been told that if we go through the hotel direct we will would get a better rate - vasili gave us his card and we will be calling him. Some peple questioned wheter it was a 4* hotel. My personal opinion is for that type of accommodation and for what you get it most certainly is. I have been to 4* hotel here in England and have questioned this!! I would not bother with the honeymoon suite though. My brother and sister-in-law gave us this room for our wedding night, but with a lack of tea and coffee in the morning - we were up and out fairly early - I guess we could have asked for room service, but it did not occur to us and there was nothing to say that that service was on offer in the room. We enjoyed the seaview though!! Some wine and fruit were left in the room for us. It was red wine which my husband & I don't drink, but they willing changed it to white for us. The sunbeds by the pool - We are not sunworshippers -don't need to be - so this was not a problem for us - however, for those interested , there were towels being left on the beds despite the signs and no sign of the actual users. On one occasion we needed a bed to put our things on while we were in the pool. We simply moved one of the towels off and put in the the sun bed next to it - there were about 10 of us using the one sunbed - no-one asked or said any thing to us so I imagine that they where not back by the time we got in or out of the pool. We barely used the pool after that prefering to go to the beach, so it really was not an issue with us. I know this is long, but I wanted to give a much detail as I could, having researched fully before I booked. I have much more to say, but this will do!!! We thorougly recommend the kefalos Beach village as a holiday resort - the fact that it is always fully booked is a testiment to itself!"

"what can i say, just returned home from a two week hols in kefalos beach, it was the best holiday i've been on, the apartments are spotless, the maids are in to clean everyday, all in all the kefalos was brilliant, we have three children two which are teenagers and a five year old and they had a great time, they spent their days in the swimming pool which was cleaned every day, the pool bar served excellent meals and had a good variety to choose from, the staff were brilliant and couldnt do enough to help you. whilst there we got married and had the wedding and reception at kefalos and yet againthe staff couldnt have been more helpful. the reception was held down at the pool snack bar which was decorated beautifully and the food was exceptional we couldnt have wished for a better day, and thats all thanks to elena and the staff at kefalos beach who we cant thank enough. we will be definately returning to kefalos in the near future what a great place"

This was our first family holiday and re...
"This was our first family holiday and reading all the reviews we decided that Kefalos was the one. We stayed for 1 week but wish it was for 2. The apartments were spotless, could do with the odd touch up (odd paint drop on tiles in bathroom etc) but was cleaned everyday, clean bed linen every 2 days. The grounds are kept to a high standard too, paths swept daily, lovely garden/flower beds and the pool was cleaned every morning. It is a beautiful pool but come mid-day, poolside did get noisy and busy with families (expected as in holidays) but too loud for us so we used the pool first thing, no problem finding a sun bed before 9. Come at the very most of 10 o'clock - you've no chance but it is free as are the loungers on the beach. No indoor pool due to some problem, downer. Nice beach, it is sand/shingle but can walk on it without hurting your soles of feet. 200m further on there is another smaller sandy beach - like a rocky alcove - but another hotel owns it (Kissos Hotel I think) so you may be charged 3 euros for each bed if/when the staff come to check who is on their beach but they only came once out of the three times we went there. Oh yeah, it's black sand too so can get dirty if with kids. The hotel entertainment was absolutely shocking especially at night. Good for kids though. In saying it was poor entertainment, many bars on the main road had some dire singer or duo act or karaoke. Blackpool entertainment is better...no lie. I maybe biased as I work in the entertainment business but it really was poor. Still, not there for that. They only had Greek dancing in one bar (twice a week) the other nights they joined the rest of the karaoke bars. Some bars did have the traditional greek/cypriot music, guitar/banjo like instruments. Breakfast was much better than expected. We ate out every night at local restauraunts and glad we did. The hotel food is good but more pricey than most other local restaurants. Pool/Snack bar was very good though. Fat mamma's gets great reviews but it is very pricey and you can get some very tasty, good quality meals at very good prices at nearby restauraunts. I'd highly recommend the 'Thomas's Jungle Bar' and 'San Marino' for great dining. My partner is a chef and she was blown away by some of the meals. I'd also recommend 'Mr Leiu' chinese although 'Phucket' chinese is highly thought of but agian, more money. All 3 of these restauraunts couldn't do enough for you, treating you like royalty and are on the pier side of the village as to Tomb of The Kings side. The only miserable people were the bus drivers, everybody else were really pleasant. Spend at least a day at Coral Bay. Totally awsome for calmer seas and snorkelling, golden sand. Do stay on the bus until it stops and turns around, too many people get off too early ( 2-3 more stops)because there is a huge sign that says Welcome to Coral Bay. That is the worst part of Coral Bay, trust me, stay on the bus. We're going back next year but without our child, so much to see and do. I don't think it is that expensive as many people say, the beer and cigs are very cheap, restaurants are cheap (chicken fried rice = £2......£5 here... 3 course meal for 3 incl 3-4 rounds of drink was no more than 55 Euros-£30 ish. But the soft drinks are the same price as the beer, if not more. We booked with Thomson and had no problem apart from the rep didn't show up until 2 days before we came home. Thank you Thomson for what felt like we were dumped blind onto another planet and had to find our own way. Remember, this was our first holiday so not sure about many things. Hope this helps, any questions please ask. I'll give you my honest opinion but everybody is different so you may disagree with some of my text."

Just came back from the Kefalos Beach Ho...
"Just came back from the Kefalos Beach Hotel (14/7/08). What can I say the place was amazing. The staff were extremley friendly, the rooms were spacious and cleaned everyday, the weather was great through out our stay, the food was out of this world from breakfast till dinner. When you get to the hotel you fill in your details, then you get transported to your room in what I would call a "Golf Buggy" and you get helped in with your luggage and left too settle in. I haven't got any complaints about the hotel in general but the beach is a second walk from the pool but unfortunatley you can't get in beacuse it's stoney, but if you go 15 mins up the road you'll come to a lovely sandy beach called "Coral Bay" which has got water sports you can go on i.e power gliding. The pool is great theirs a shallow and deep ends plus a little kiddie pool for the youngsters. My parents and I would deffienley go back to this family resort, we had a fun two weeks and came back fully relaxed!!!!!!!. Anyone just heading out, it's a great place and you won't be disapointed. Enjoy your stay. Usher family "
