Kefalos Beach Tourist Village

"Stayed here for two weeks at the end of August and had a great time. We were a party of four with two boys of 12 and 14 and booked two studios facing the sea with fabulous views of the beach and sunset which were amazing. Booked on a bed and breakfast basis and there was plenty of choice for breakfast, including a diet section, and loved most things except the orange juice. Pool was lovely, just the right size and very clean. Could have done with a few more sun loungers as if you left it past 9.00am you had to hunt to find four together. Lots of shops, bars and restarants about five minutes walk away and Paphos harbour was about half hour walk away along the beach or a five minute bus ride away. Restaurants at the harbour were more expensive. All in all a great holiday, only gripe I had was on booking a courtesy room on day of departure did not realise that we only had it for half an hour for four of us to get showered and changed and received a phone call in the room after 35 minutes saying we should have been out five minutes ago! This was not enough time and ended up drying my hair in the ladies!"

Fantastic Stay at the Kefalos
"My boyfriend and I stayed at the Kefalos for two weeks at the end of August/beginning September and had a fantastic time. Upon arrival we were transported to our apartment in a golf buggy which is a nice quirk.
We had booked a sea view room and were not disappointed. Our balcony opened directly out onto the sea and the view was perfect. We were able to watch the sun set every night and got some amazing pictures. We would highly recommend that people consider paying a bit extra for a sea view as it is well worth it.
We were staying in a studio which was very spacious and well equipped. You are able to buy a key for the safety deposit box which we did and only cost 9 cypriot pounds for 2 weeks.
The staff were very friendly and there seemed to be endless entertainment for both adults and kids if you wanted it.
We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and there was a good choice for all nationalities (although I wouldn't recommend the "holiday tea"!) There is a well stocked shop on site which was a similar price to those on the main street.
The facilities were fantasic and there were endless sunbeds available. It was a welcome relief to know that you didn't have to get up at the crack of dawn to put your towels out!!! The swimming pool was lovely and never too busy. We didn't stay around the pool, choosing instead to sunbathe on the grassy areas in front of the beach as there was a constant breeze.
About 5 mins walk from the hotel is a strip of restaurants and bars. We would highly recommend Youkoso - Japanese restaurant. It was slightly more expensive than others but then you are paying for chefs to cook right in front of you and it is very entertaining.
We would also recommend Marcello's which is an Italian we went to 3 times - the pizza's are excellent - cooked in a wood fired oven. The pizzas are huge and very good value for money. Next door is Duomo's which is also an Italian and also very good.
Phuket which is a chinese/thai restaurant was very nice and we went to the harbour one night to eat at a chinese restaurant called Chloe's which was one of the best chinese meals we have had in a long time. There is a 2nd Chloe's restaurant near the apartments left of the main strip (near Tomb of the Kings).
Metaxas, San Marino's and Raffles were ok - many tend to go there for the 3 course set meal for about 10 cypriot pounds.
Fat Mama's is always packed. The food is quite good and the portions huge (do not have a starter) and the staff do some entertainment pieces. However, the staff are encouraged to push the extras as many people just have a main meal and this got a little annoying.
We had a fab time in Cyprus and would not hesitate in returning to the Kefalos which is great value for money when compared to the larger hotels."

"We have just returned from a break at the Kefalos beach Hotel Apartments on a bed and breakfast basis. our first impression of the hotel was how friendly most of the staff were. The rooms (we were on the first floor) were clean and bright with tv aircon included in the price. The Hotel reception is comfortable and roomy with indoor and outdoor pools and a quiet private beach. For children there were daily entertainments at the pool with evening entertainment.(Everything stopped at 12 midnight) so if you wanted a late night suggest you go to nearby Bar Street. The only negative we brought back was the on site Super Market where we found the staff abrupt and disinterested. That apart we had a very enjoyable relaxing holiday. Forgot to mention breakfast plenty of choice continental/English etc.
For an excellent evening meal try the nearby PREMA INDIAN near to Damons apartment off the Tombs Of The Kings Road owner Mike and wife Prema from India via Manchester."

A calm retreat in a sea of traffic
"This was our first visit to Paphos for 16 years and we were shocked at the changes which have taken place during that time, the Kefelos Village however proved to be an excellent choice.
We stayed in an apartment with a Sea View, which as recommended by other Trip Advisors , is a must, as the sunsets are spectacular, and we even spotted a couple of Dolphins one evening, jumping about in the sea near the beach.
The apartments were cleaned every day and all the outside area were kept spotless. We can recommend the restaurant which provided a varied menu and the food was excellent.
Out 9 year old Son loved the kids club and it got him out of the 40% heat for a couple of hours each day, all the Kids entertainers were great and extremelly popular and they were not too pushy or controlling as we have sometimes experienced.
The apartments are about a 5 minute stroll from the Tomb of the Kings Road, but it might as well have been a 5 mile walk away.so different are the areas. The area around the Kefelos beach is peaceful and Cypriot looking, the Tomb of the Kings road is about as Cypriot as Blackpool !!!
There are a couple of Cypriot/ Greek Tavernas on the road , and there are some good restaurants serving different types of food but these are surrounded by Bars competing with each other to be the loudest and karaoke would appear to have become the national pasttime of Cyprus, you just could not avoid it. One bar even advertised an X rated show after 11:30pm, something I never thought I would see in Paphos
We did try to avoid the Tomb of the Kigs Road as much as possible, and if we didn't stay in the Kefelos, enjoying the entertainment provided, we took the local bus to the harbour area, which had a more traditional atmosphere.
Many people we spoke to liked the area, and maybe had we not experienced it before it was over developed, we may have had a more positive report. It just seems a shame that the Tomb of the Kings Road does not provide any of the traditional experiences of Cyprus, which made the Island so special, but the Kefelos Village does make you feel like you are in Cyprus ."

Very Friendly and great food
"This was our 3rd visit to Kefalos, 1st trip was April 05, 2nd Trip Easter 06 and 3rd trip June 06 each stay was 10 days. We are intending to return next year too.
This was the best holiday our family has experienced. We have 2 children(10 and 5), plenty to see and do. The daytime sports and activities provided by Mel and Leighton of 4Front Entertainment were varied and highly enjoyable (even my husband joined in).
Mel and Leighton work extremely hard and are a very friendly team. On our first visit the entertainment team didn't exist, but this year was so much better for the children with Mel and Leighton, they encouraged all the children and the older ones, seem to enjoy their company too.
The apartment on all visits were well equipped and functional, with maid service every day, the hotel itself was well run with all staff very helpful and approachable. The little supermakert is not a rip off with food items being excessively over priced like we have experienced in the past. We always request a sea view. The restaurant is excellent with a weekly varied menu (not chips chips and more chips!!), we also ate out at local restaurants. Beakfast is fab too.
Abyss a local SCUBA dive school come to the hotel so you can sampel SCUBA diving, and my elder son undertook is open water PADI dive (Junior).
We took a day trip to the Northern Side of Cyprus which was ejoyable and to see the northern side as we have some greek cypriots who lost homes and land on this side.
We highly recommend Kefalos, its family friendly and peaceful without being remote. The staff are helpful and there is no main road to cross for the sea, its on your doorstep. The kids love it, my husband loves it and its a stress free holiday.
We book independently directly with Kefalos and they couldn't have been more helpful.

Kefalos - it dosen't get much better than this.
"We have stayed in a number of hotels in Paphos all of which, I have to say were good.
A few years ago whilst walking along the beach near the Tombs of the Kings, we noticed a new development nearing completion. The following year we spotted the Kefalos Beach in the winter sun brochues and decided to give it a try ~ that was five years ago and we've kept coming back ever since.
Standards are exceptionally high across the board - The staff are friendly, and helpful but never intrusive. If you want to be left alone there is no-one pesetering you. It is located adjacent to it own beach - a bit rocky in places but very pleasant and reasonably quiet.
It is within walking distance of the old town centre (say 15 minutes at a moderate pace), but far enough away not to be troubled by rowdy people who have had too many to drink.
Only five minutes away there is a good selecton of restaurants all high quality and clean ~ the problem is that the food at Kefalos itself is also splendid and leaves you with the difficult decision of whther to eat in or go out.
We normally visit Kefalos just before Christmas when the weather is still very pleasant (you can get a decent sun tan without worrying about heat exhaustion). Another advantage is that at this time of year you don't have to queue for many things and if you're looking to hire a car the prices are very reasonable - even form the big names.
If you're the type that is happy to stay around the hotel all day then there is still plenty to do at Kefalos with Tennis, indoor and outdoor pools, full gym facility, and organised actvities for adults and children.
I'll definately be going back."

"We have just returned from a two week stay a t the Kefalos Beach and I can only say it was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. Firstly the staff were so helpful, pleasant, friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them. Everywhere you went they would stop and talk to you asked how you were etc. T hey were great with the kids and made their holiday.
The apartment are spacious and well maintained. We had a one bed apt. with sea view which was fab. The maids came every day and sheets and towels were changed on a regular basis.
The hotel itself is veryattractively built with lovely gardens and a beautiful walkway along the front of the hotel next to the sea. The pool area is kept immaculate as is the pool itself.
We had breakfast in the hotel restaurant which was lovely and very good value. The pool bar and restaurant was also excellent with a good variety for lunch and massive portions.
The entertainment staff were fab, they worked very hard and there was always lots to do if you wanted it. The kids loved it, our kids ages were from 16 to 9 and there was something for all of them.
It was just lovely sitting on a sunbed overlooking the sea, a cool breeze and knowing the kids were having fun in the pool behind. All in all we hand a great time and can't wait to return next year."

"We went to the Kefalos Beach Village this August and had an absolutely fantastic time!
The hotel itself is attractive and is very well kept. The reception staff are, contrary to previous reviews, friendly and helpful. We were transported to our apartment in what resembled a golf buggy. This was not necessary for us as our apartment was close to the reception, however for others it would be more useful. Our apartment was clean light and spacious with a small bathroom and a kitchenette. Though we were not in one of the "sea view" rooms, from our balcony we could easily see across the pool to the sea. Do not be fooled by descriptions in brochures, listing satellite TV as one of the features. The only English channel was BBC 1 so if you were hoping to keep up to date with your favourite shows then there is no luck there. The pool area was lovely with plenty of sunbeds (towels laid out across sunbeds and left unattended in the morning are removed by the lifeguard). There is a paddling pool for the youngsters and a very large pool for everyone else. The beach is just beyond the pool, however the sea is very rocky so is better for sitting on the sand than playing in the sea. The buffet breakfasts in the hotel restaurant were good with a very wide choice of food. We did not eat in the hotel restaurant at night so cannot comment on that. There are many restaurants situated on The Tombs Of The Kings Road, a 5 minute walk max from The Kefalos. Our favourites were: Casa Mexicana, Duomos (not necessarily for the food but for an enjoyable experience and the service)and Martellis for a remarkably cheap and very decent pizza. Jackie Ma's Chinese was very expensive for little food however the owner was very pleasant. Metaxas had good food but unless you got there before 7:30 to get the discount was rather expensive. We were not impressed by the widely revered Fat Mamma's. There was always an enormous queue so decided to eat there one night. The food was so-so and the bill came back wrong twice. They charged us for 5 extra puddings. The only good part about the restaurant was the dances perfromed by the waitresses every now and again, and this was only because it was reminiscent of one of the sketches in The Catherine Tate Show. We ate out at the harbour once (we do not recommend walking to it at mid-day!)at Theo's seafood restaurant. The fish there was delicious as one would hope and was situated in a pleasant spot. Back at the hotel, our seven year old loved the kids' party that was on every night at 8:30 and also the lucky envelopes raffle which came after. The entertainers were good and he loved the kids' club. There were activities at half hourly intervals throughout the morning and one in the afternoon. These were good for those who like to be active through the day, but you weren't badgered if you didn't want to take part. We recommend hiring a car for a couple of days and exploring the island a bit as it's far less developed than we expected. Coral bay is a lovely beach and we had a good time there.
All in all Kefalos Beach is a lovely place to stay and the accommodation is very good for the money. We would recommend the Kefalos to anyone as we had a great family holiday. And good luck to Leighton and Melanie on their forthcoming wedding. Oh and Matty says hello to Katherine (his favourite rep!)."

Great holiday at the kefalos beach
"Stayed at the Kefalos for two weeks when in Cyprus for my sisters wedding (she stayed at the Elysium next door which was absolutely gorgeous!!)
Had an excellent time here stayed in a studio which was large enough for the two of us. Hotel is clean and pool large enough to cope with all the people who were there. It also has sun loungers overlooking the sea which means that you get a nice sea breeze to help you stay cool!!
Would recommend Metaxas/ Raffles for food nearby and also Chloes Chinese in the harbour. Breakfast at the hotel was good with a wide range of different food (cereal/fry up/fruit etc)
All in all an excellent base for a holiday in paphos. Restaurants/bars nearby and also only about 20mins walk (or 4 cypriot pounds in taxi) to harbour area."

"This was our second trip to Kefalos, having previously visited in 2003.
We arrived and were checked in very quickly and shown to our room, which as usual was clean & tidy. We were expecting the area to have been built up since our last stay but it was as we left it 3 years ago.
The best restaurants to go to are Fat Mamas, but make sure you don't eat for the previous 12 hours as the portions are massive - I have a big appetite and I couldnt eat it all! The Outback is a great place to go with really friendly staff - great food and fantastic cocktails! Carlinas is also good - the pancakes are superb.
We took the obligatory trip to Coral Bay which was good fun. Pints of Cocktails for a few quid!!!!
Only down side of the holiday was that the week before we were due to fly home by fiancee came down with food poisoning after eating a Prawn Cocktail in the pool bar! 3 days spent in the private hospital which was not good. Make sure you have insurance as the general hospital doesn't speak English and all tourists have to go to the private one. Think they kept us in a little longer than necessary as it was all being done on insurance so was easy money - or am I just a sceptic?????
I found the reception staff very unhelpful and sometimes quite frosty. Think they need to work on their interpersonal skills. Friends we met also had photographs thrown away from their room. When we asked reception to look for them they were very unhelpful and thought we were accusing them of stealing them!
Apart from this the 1st 10 days of our holiday were fantastic. It's a great resort with fantastic facilities. Whilst we dont have kids we could tell it would be a great place for families and somewhere we would consider going back to in a few years time (just wont eat in the restaurant again :-))
Huge respect to Leighton, Jo, Kalea and Mel they do a fantastic job and good look for your wedding x"

Best holiday we've had
"We have just returned from a 2 week stay , we got married at the resort and would recommend it to anyone. Elena and the majority of staff were so friendly and helpful and made us feel like royalty ,nothing was too much trouble for them. The rooms are clean and spacious , pool and entertainment was great , and the food was amazing even though I am the worlds fussiest eater, the portions are massive!. Within walking distance there are plenty of shops and great restaurants to choose from. The beach was a little bit stoney but it doesn't bother you that much, ourselves and wedding guests are already looking into booking up for next year because we all had such a great time . There's something to do for all ages and the entertainment team are fantastic. I'm not really a review writing person ( as you may have guessed!) but had such an amazing wedding/ holiday that I felt I had to. Thank you Kefalos 10/10"

"Firstly pay extra for the sea view â its so worth it.
The room was very spacious and had everything required (fridge, crockery etc). The bathroom was also roomy and had fresh towels if not daily then every other. Both rooms very clean. The girls enjoyed the ride to the room in the golf buggy!
Sun loungers round the pool were popular but the loungers situated on the grass were plentiful. We preferred these as less noisy. Donât put a towel out till after 8am as grass sprinklers will soak them. Never had a problem obtaining a sunbed.
Although we didnât participate in the activities our 2 16yr olds did and enjoyed themselves. Especially popular was the kayak race in the pool. The outdoor pool was really warm but one side of it is deep (about 6â 6â) so unable to stand. The indoor pool was good too, although smaller it was much cooler so good to cool off.
The beach area is ok but very stony and lots of seaweed (but hey itâs a beach). It was easier to go down the man made steps into the sea - just a bit rough at times. Keep a check on the rip-tides too.
Breakfast at the hotel was lovely â a full spread of hot & cold and always plentiful. We also ate in the hotel one evening and that was good too. Itâs only a short walk to a stretch of shop and restaurants. Fat Mamas/Cowboy Willies was the most popular but there were enough to keep everyone happy. Many of the restaurants also had a set price 3 course meal for approx 13 euros. We also got the bus to Paphos harbour a few times (1euro) each way and there many promenade eateries too. The Captains View and The Harbour â I considered to be the best. Taxi there was only 5 euros too which was good value for the 4 of us. I should mention that a number of restaurants had closed down owing to the recession â sad as the locals were very friendly.
The evening entertainment at the hotel was good too â varied and enjoyable (usually finished about 11-15). The bar shuts about 12pm and there are no nightclubs which is brill as not noisy.
All in all I would defo recommend this hotel as a relaxing peaceful place to stay.
We went to see the Coral bay beach - but found it wall to wall sun lougers and loud music, not to mention busy, more sardine like!"
