If it wasn't for the buses I wouldn't of enjoyed it as much
"Room- very spacious and clean with a kitchenette, TV, and hair dryer. Bathroom nice size with bath and shower. Balcony only small, room for 2 chairs if you put the table out it would block the door but okay for just the two off us. Cleaners came most days and liked to take away your unused towels out of the bathroom and leave clean ones in the sitting room which I kept forgetting until getting out of the bath! Charges- air con â¬10 a day, safe deposit box â¬10 for the week. No charge for TV or fridge. Pool okay size, lots of sun beds and parasols, pool bar/ snack bar okay (only ate breakfast there) music playing but not too loud. Breakfast - if you had paid for bed and breakfast it was a choice of full English or continental with a drink but if you don't want a full breakfast the lady was happy to do what you liked like beans on toast for instance instead. All the breakfast we had were very nice and so was the lady that served us every day , a bit forgetful with what you asked for sometimes as she didn't write your order down, but very nice and worked hard. Location- it's set back off a main road so not too much noise, not far from the tomb of the kings, where there a a lot of bars restaurants and shops just a few minutes away. The beach is 10 minutes away (very dark at night) where you will find the light house beach or Kefalos beach village hotel but it is a bit rocky and not ideal for swimming. The main beach is coral bay which isn't within walking distance but you can get the bus on the main road which takes 20 mins and cost â¬1.50 each way or there is a beach further on from the harbor ( where it is bursting with restaurants, bars, shops) which is in the opposite direction and takes 10mins on the bus or 30mins walk. Buses run every 10 minutes and was okay for us we used them every day but can imagine them being very full in the middle of summer. If you prefer you could hire a car, there is a car hire place opposite the hotel. Overall - I could not fault this hotel for anything during our stay, I would of preferred it to be a bit more lively than a 'relaxing place' with some kind of entertainment or even just louder and better music by the pool. Would of also preferred a buffet style breakfast but what we had was fine. Location was only ok because of the buses if they had not been available and cheap enough to use everyday I wouldn't of enjoyed it as much as going to the harbor and coral bay are a must and once isn't enough. Great for couples and family's and I would stay again."

Could not be better
"We stayed at Kefalonitis Apts at the end off June 2012. My wife is 69 I am 73. One of the best holidays I have had for a long time. All the staff was so helpful. You could not fault the any of the areas all was spotless. Prices in the bar was as cheap as outside the Apts. Sightseeing was easy. A bus to the harbour within 1 min walking. Varied eating houses and bars within walking distance Tomb of the Kings just up the road. I must mention Ted and Helen who run the Apts and Sue in the bar Who helped made our holiday simple the best.I have to stop I could go on for ever singing the praises of is hotel. We are returning in May next year"

Out of Season Stay
"Late last month we fancied a week in Cyprus so I e-mailed Nicos (owner) and Maria (his daughter)at the Kefalonitis to see if they had an apartment we could use. We knew they were shut and also knew that Nicos would be in the middle of his annual Winter alterations, but thought it worth a try. Back came the reply, we could have one over the pool bar as that was out of the way of the renovations.
So we booked a flight for early February and Maria got a taxi to pick us up at Paphos airport. On tne way to the complex, the taxi driver rang Nicos to let him know we were nearly there. He duly met us outside the reception with a key alresdy for us for one of the aforesaid apartments from which we made good use of the Winter sunshine and acquired a suntan.
Although the complex was shut a maid turned up in the middle of the week to change beds, towels and clean up. We hadn't expected this (but a very nice thought) as plenty of clean bedding and towels had been left for us anyway and we were quite prepared to fend for ourselves. We saw Nicos most days and he always asked if everything was OK.
Some of the local shops and restaurants were open so we didn't have to travel far to find good food and certainly didn't go hungry and there was still a lot going on in the harbour area.
We had a wonderful quiet, relaxing week, just what we wanted and will be something we will no doubt do again out of season as well as our usual 'in season' twice yearly visits. "

the pool was really nice and clean, the food was nice, Keo the local beer was a decent price.
the Apartments were Very spacious and clean, the cleaners came 5 times a week and were always happy ladies.
the beach is a bit pebbley if you want a sandy beach Coral bay is alright 10 mins or so on the bus.
If you dont want to spend too much on food we would Definitly reccomend tea for two.

"The kefalonitis is a brilliant hotel all round. wonderful & friendly staff always willing to help, fun bar staff & a relaxed atmosphere. The pool area is totally clean & there is a large spotlessly clean swimming pool with lots of space around for sunbathing. The rooms are spacious & very very clean. (have no idea how the people in the other reviews can possibly say this hotel is dirty or shabby its the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard!! having stayed at many hotels around greece & cyprus this is by far the cleanest & most luxurious we have stayed in. The hotels location is perfect as it is central to everything. The owners of the hotel are really sweet, kind people I would reccomend this hotel to everybody & will def be back soon."

Average apartments shame about the rude owner!
"Arrived just before midnight, and was greated by a friendly Scottish chap (unsure of his name)on reception. Assisted with our luggage when showing us to our room. Good job as there are no lifts so you would struggle if you were without a strong man to carry your suitcase up 3 flights of stairs with an unsecure bannister.
When entered the room, yes very average, and definitely not a 4* hotel as it claimed to be. Lucky for us we had no issue with additional guests (ie the ants) which others appear to have met. The room was clean, but no towels in the room whatsoever. When approached the gentleman (later transpired was actually the owner) in the morning we were practically accused of stealing the towels well... "very strange, very strange you have no towels in your room!!" was more like it. What happened to the customer is always right?? Regardless we did eventually get the 'missing' towels.
AIR CONDITIONING: Very surprised this was provided free of charge, but then would have demanded my money back if I had paid for it! First morning after arriving, woke up to find the floor completely wet with a dirty brown liquid. The aircon had leaked everywhere, and again when politely reported the incident to the owner, received a very negative response. Arrived later that day, and the issue seemed to be resolved, but no apology for any inconvenience, or that it had actually been fixed.
JACUZZI: Decided to use this facility on the last day of our holiday, as the weather was a little unsettled. Politely asked the owner, and was shocked when he responded that it would cost 10 Euros each!! Daylight robbery, and no mention of this on website when booked holiday. Felt like he was being difficult again!!
On a positive note...
Lots of sunbeds surrounding the pool all day, so no fight to get there first thing.
Cleaners wehre very sweet, and did clean room 5 days a week.
Paphos Harbour is absolutely stunning with lots of top end bars/ restaurants should you wish to escape the iffy cheesy bars locally. It is approx a 30 min walk from this hotel, and the beach is approx a similar distance.
FOODWISE: we haven't been to Cyprus before, and really found the food expensive. Definitely worth shopping around, and to look out for some specific restaurants offering 3 course meals for 10 Euros. Fat Mamas (practically opposite this hotel) has good food with fantastic entertainment. I believe they do kids face painting, and balloon making aswell."
