Basic but excellent location
"I have visited Cyprus many many times in the fourteen years I have been going there and I have stayed at the Crystallo twice and would not hesitate to stay there again. Ok it is perhaps not the most spotless of places and things are a little old and worn and the place could maybe do with refurbishment but hey if you are like me and just need a base and you are out all day and out all night it is perfect. For myself last May it cost me 375 euros for two weeks self catering booked on the internet but George is an ok guy when you get to know him get his telephone number next year check out the Internet prices then give George a call he may do you a deal. The location is fantasic close to everything bar street and the harbour etc but quiet enough at night for a good nights sleep only the sofianna is a little closer. I found nothing wrong with the pool perfect for an early morning dip to refresh yourself. I am gobsmacked at the comments of people who pay rock bottom prices but expect five star luxury if they want that they can go to the Elysium hotel and pay Elysium prices get the picture. "

"just back from our hols, staying at crystallo apartments, highly recommend these basic apartments are very central, easy reach of bars and shops and the harbour front. George the owner is a real character taking away the word basic for these apartments he makes up for it, to give you a good laugh, always on the ball and rushing around to please everybody. The apartments were clean and tidy though could do with decorating/ FACE LIFT. But you were there for your holiday, not to study the decor. We highly recommend eating out at the PALERMO, ITALIAN RESTAURANT, it's only a short 5 minute walk from the apartments and every night it was like a banquet arriving, and of a very high standard. Salvatore and his staff are very friendly and accommadating. So go and have a great holiday just like us."

Basic but good
"Just back from 7 nights in Paphos staying at Crystallo Appts. Friendly owner, maid service & linen change every day but one. Big studio apartment, adequately equipped but definitely in need of a spruce up; although I suppose that's why it's so cheap. Excellent location - everything in Kato Paphos is within easy walking distance of the apartments. Overall I'd recommend it if you're happy with basic accomodation, but if you like big fluffy towels, spa 'pampering' and mints on your pillow then it's not for you."

Great Apartments - will return one day!
"We have just returned from 2 weeks in Paphos staying at the Crystallo Apartments, we booked these as myself and partner were getting married during our 2 week stay and the price was good for other family who came with us.
Our party was 2 adults and 1 child so we had one of the larger apartments on the second floor. It was an excellent size room with a large kitchen, fridge and hob. the location is fantastic come out turn left and you are on tomb of the kings, turn right 2 mins walk and you are on bar street! about 10 mins walk to the harbour. There is a bus stop located just around the corner - buses are so easy to use.
I was slightly concered after reading some comments on here about the road noise but this was not an issue at all, you could hear motorbikes when the patio doors were open but very quiet with the doors shut.
The rooms were clean and maid service was in every day. The pool area was also very clean, this closes at 7.30pm so it can be cleaned. They are about 15 sunbeds avaliable and a good size pool (for the size of the apartment blocks)
My only complaint would be the shower which was nothing more that a dribble and i thought the Air Conditioning was a bit expensive (although was a Must in August!!) They are charging 47 euros per week (approx £37!!!!) PER WEEK! You also have to provide your own toilet rolls after the 2 provided run out
Also when going no need for the 2 prong adapters as its all English plugs and theres an extra tap in the room for Drinking Water!! so you dont need to rush out and buy bottled as soon as you get there"

Apartments basic, but reasonably clean....
"Apartments basic, but reasonably clean. Wasn't too clean from the last occupants, but just little things really. The apts are in an excellent location, far enough out of town to be quiet but just a 5-10 minute walk to the bars and restaurants. Another 5 mins takes you to the harbour which was, in my opinion, much nicer for relaxing and eating. The pool is very small and shallow but ok for cooling off. The sunbeds were comfortable and there was no getting up early to mark them, there were plenty to go round at ay time of day. Although the patio is small it is a real sun trap and you get to chat with the other guests if you want. I'd recomend the trips on the Wave Cruiser for value for money, I did the half day and the sunset and they were both great. Enjoy!!"

Well done again Golden Ticket...........
"We have just returned from a wonderful weeks holiday at the Crystalo Apartments. Although the apartments are quite basic their location more than makes up for it.
We received a warm welcome from the owners son and from that moment on the time just flew by. Paphos has a lovely habour with cafes and bars which was about a 10 minute walk away. There are a lot of bars and restaurants that were even closer.
The swimming pool isn't enormous but it was clean and more than adequate. We always got a sun bed when we wanted one anyway.
The room we had was much larger than some we have had in Greece and Cyprus and it was clean.
All in all this was a great value holiday.
Special thanks to Golden Ticket Travel who always seem to come up with something new and always at such a good price.
We will use you again."

A good base, but quite noisey
"We stayed here for a week at the beginning of July, its pretty basic and we had quite a lot on ants marching in and out!
Its right near Bar street and the harbour, but the nice beaches are a 15 min bus ride away.
Apartments are on quite a busy road, so it can be quite noisey but you do get used to it!
Overall an ok base for a cheap holiday"

Great location - good value for money!
"Me and my boyfriend have just come back from Paphos where we stayed at the small, family run Crystallo apartments. We booked through Libra Holidays last minute and got a deal for £220 pp.
We flew with XL airways and the arrival at Paphos airport was the easiest I have ever had - we picked up our transfer and within 20mins we were at our apartments. We were greeted by Stathis which is the owners son - he really is a credit to the place, always friendly and helpful and makes you feel really welcome.
Our room was a basic but huge studio with kitchen, eating area and 2 single beds and balcony - decor is in need of updating as it is very 1970's but it was clean.
Air con was 47 euro for the week and the safe (which is recommended) was 10 euro for the week.
You have to provide your own dish cloth, toilet paper etc...and there is no welcome pack so bring some water with you if you come in on a late flight.
The pool area is very small but having said that we never had problems getting a sunbed and the pool was like a warm bath-and nice and quiet which was perfect for relaxing!
Paphos itself doesnt have a beach, they have a lovely harbour where you can find some nice restaurants and it is only a 10min walk from the apartments, bar street where all the bars and restaurants are is a 5min walk. There is a beach (municipal beach)which is a 15min walk from the apartments but i wouldnt recommend going there as its run down and the shoreline is too rocky to be able to paddle in without shoes. You can catch a bus to the lovely Coral Bay which is only 1.38 euro. There are also lots of historical sites dotted around so have your camera ready!
The 3 places I recommend to eat are:
Othello's on bar street for authentic Greek/Cypriot Meze with weekly entertainment
Haven Cafe which is just 5mins walk from the apartments right next to the old church where St Pauls Pillar is - the food and service here is excellent with big portions and fresh greek salads and it is cheap, they also serve lovely cream tea's with freshly baked scones
The Seahorse which is opposite the apartments, they serve great English food and the parents of the owners are really lovely, they also have quiz nights, darts etc..
On the whole we loved Paphos and preferred it to Ayia Napa, it was scorching out there (about 35oC at night) and there was lots to see and do although be prepared to bring lots of cash as it is expensive there. Tip - you get a better exchange rate over there - we got 1.19 euro to the pound in the UK however over there you get 1.24 euro's to the pound!
Also if you're going self catering make sure you go to the big local supermarket on the way to the harbour (i think it was called Papadoulis?) it is much cheaper here compared to the other mini marts.
BEWARE - do not get sucked in by Lions Resort reps who reel you in with scratch cards telling you that you've won the star prize as you'll end up wasting your afternoon as this is a timeshare type holiday club, which luckily we didnt sign up to in the end but I have read lots of negative reviews about them on other websites since!"

excellent value for money
"we went on a last minute booking, not knowing what to expect. we are a family of 5 - 2 adults & 3 children, we all loved it. rooms are basic, but are cleaned often. pool always clean.
it is amazing, that it i quiet but 10-15 mins walk away is what is known as Bar Street, which says it all. every kind of food and drink to be found. also a large supermarket, just from the harbour. everyone was really friendly, towards adults & children alike.
we booked with Libra for apartment, but you can book the studios opposite directly. we got details to do this off owner. all in all, a lovely location, very friendly without being OTT. clean & excellent value."

Fab Location, for all facilities in Paphos
"We booked a studio room for 1 week, 16th - 23rd May 2007.
The accomodation is spacious and although basic provided an excellent base for our holiday.
The owners and staff are friendly and came back especially to see us of at 4.15am when our coach arrived to take us to the airport. This was the only hotel/apartments on all pickups that did this!
The swimming pool is small but ideal for a quick dip to cool off.
The apartments are ideally suited in a quiet area, a few mins walk from the sea front/harbour, lively bar street (although you would not know bar street was there if you did not stumble upon it) and restaurants. Also ideally suited for all the historical areas and bus routes.
There is a local restaurant accross the road called The Sea Horse. This is the best restaurant for value, fantastic food and great hosts, we eat there 4 times and joined in their quiz night. Gill and Chris make you feel very welcome and valued.
Fantastic holiday! Go to Crystallo Apartment and Eat at the Sea Horse!!!"
