Bella Napa Bay Hotel

Best holiday ever!
"We stayed at the Bella Napa Hotel for a week on the 1st of September. It was the best holiday ever. The hotel itself was absolutley fantastic for the £350 that we payed.
The rooms were very spacious with a TV including BBC. I usually find that hotel beds are uncomfortable but the one at the Bella Napa was up to my standards. The room was carpeted which was a bonus. Bathroom was great aswell. As a couple on a budget we didnt book a sea view so the room looked on towards the hotel's carpark this didnt bother us as you can still see the sea, however if we were to go back we would have a sea view next time.
We went bed and breakfast. The breakfast was loverly, plenty to choose from, you could eat as much as you like. The food ranged from English style breakfasts(bacon, beans, sausage, fried egg) to continental(meats, bread, boiled eggs, chocolate bread, fresh, fruit, yoghurt). The hotel restaurant leads out to a huge balcony where we sat every morning and looked out over the bay.
The pool was nice, poolside bar very good, there was happy hour at 3pm everyday. There was also an indoor pool, jacuzzi and gym which we never used. There was also poolside entertainment throughout the day for those who want it. Staff very friendly. We found the hotel had a lot of Russian and German holiday makers which were very amusing!
The hotel has loverly gardens and is kept very clean. There is also a tennis court but it was a little too hot to be playing tennis when we were there.
The hotel itself is about a 15 minute walk from Aiya Napa centre therefore there is no noise on a night keeping you awake. The walk is a nice walk as there are a lot of shops, restaurants and bars along the way, some nights we found we didnt need to go into the centre. The staff were very friendly and always helped us find our way around the island. If we needed a taxi they would book it for us free of charge.
The nearest beach is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The beach is beautiful but make sure you take a taxi to Nissi Beach one day as it is a must see.
Aiya Napa itself is fantasic. There are many bars, shops and restaurants. It is suitable for all ages, there were more families there than I would have expected and I think it has cleaned up its reputation alot over the past few years. The harbour area is beautiful and there are some beautful fish restaurant located on the harbour edge, on a night the water is lit up and you can see all the fishes swimming around.
Another must see if the waterpark although the slides are not for the fainthearted!
Overall we had the best holiday ever and I would go back there right now if I could!!!"

Great value hotel and decent location
"This hotel is well situated about 15-20mins walk to the main square and across the road from a beautiful beach. The hotel itself has a nice pool area with enough sun loungers for everyone. There is a poolside bar serving hot and cold snacks as well as drinks.
We never ate at the hotel in the evening, choosing instead to walk into the square where there are lots of good restaurants. We went in September and the atmosphere was great, lots of other couples etc. I imagine in July and August it could be a bit more rowdy with teenagers though. Breakfast at the hotel was good, a choice of continental or cooked english.
The hotels surrounding the Bella Napa also have good pool areas if you get bored of being next to the same one and the beach is really nice. It is separate from the main Ayia Napa beach and is more quiet and chilled out. Even so there are still some watersports you can do and there is a bar and restaurant there too.
The rooms were okay. They are similar to a Travel Inn type of room. The main room has a double bed and a desk area with cupboards by the door and a bathroom just off the entrance. The rooms are kept clean daily with bed linen and towels changed.
Ayia Napa itself is a great place for couples off peak season. The main square has a very chilled out atmosphere with acoustic guitar players playing well known songs and artists and markets etc. There are people trying to get you into their restaurant but that is standard in most resorts across the med these days. There is also a great waterpark just outside Ayia Napa. You can get a bus there very cheap or even a taxi wouldnt be too expensive.
Overall this was probably our best European holiday. Great hotel, great nightlife and great restaurants. Perfect. And of course the weather is always good in Cyprus. Even in the last week of September and first week of October the temperature was over 30 every day."

"I think Ayia Napa makes a lovely family holiday and would also be a great place to go with friends. Bella Napa hotel is a nice place to stay while you're there; very close to the beach and shops.
I went here with my family and even though it was during October, the weather was still warm. It was lovely staying on the beach and going in the sea. There was activites such as Paragliding, boats, speed boats etc. We went on a boat trip round to Famagusta Bay, it was really cheap and I loved it! We even got dinner and were allowed to swim in the sea.
The hotel room was fine, nice bathroom. The food was lovely, and the staff were very friendly. However, on our last night we had ants in our room... a member of staff said he'd sorted it out but he didn't do much. This wasn't anything major, though.
It's quite a walk into town, but once you're there its really nice! There was little nightlife during this time, but I can imagine it'd be amazing during the summer. Theres some nice restaurants and shops aswell.
Great holiday overall! I do recommend."

Bella Napa Very Good
"Stayed for 2 weeks this year with my family, wife & 2 daughters 16 & 20 found the hotel to be excellent in all areas in particular the friendly attentive staff be it by the pool, reception, in the restaurant etc, we are usually very fussy travellers but we can say that the hotel experience was faultless & for a welcome change we could not think of anything to complain about,In particular the hotel has a very nice plunge pool after a hard day sweating on the beach! Ayia Napa brilliant , Cyprus Brilliant ,if youve not been try it!!!!!!!!!!"

Nice hotel, rude hotelier!!
"The hotel room was nice, great air con, carpeted, lovely bathroom and shower etc.
The breakfast largely consisted of cakes, cereal and pastries.
BUT the hotelier was an arrogant git!! He had a huge problem with anyone coming to your room, whenever friends who were staying in other hotels came around, they had to sign in and out, once two of my female friends didnât (Iâm female also) and he shouted at them as though they were children!!! Started to tell us about things being stolen from peopleâs rooms etc. like we were responsible!!! He was not inviting at all.
The location is up a hill, quite a way away from the square, so u would need a moped for it to be convenient (if you are there for the clubbing) it meant our hair was wrecked by the time we drove to the square, otherwise it is a quiet destination for families. Families were staying there as well as a younger clubbing crowd. I did not spend much time in the hotel other than that so cannot comment on the other staff and facilities."

"Stayed at the Bella over the easter weekend with my girlfriend. For a 3 star hotel it is very good . IThe hotel is very clean and staff are friendly.
Rooms cleaned on a daily basis and any faults were resolved very quickly.
We had a side view of the sea but the views of the land scape was still very good.
Did not stay at the hotel pool but went to the wonderful beach that is 2 min walk away. Very clean beach!!
Only a 10 min walk to the centre and there are a lot of bars on the way. Recommend the Restaurant food at the st george and dragon. It is quite in AYA that time of the year roughly 50% of the bars are closed. I would not recommend large boy or girl groups going at that time of year.
You must hire a car to see the island - 3 days hire is enough to cover the island.
Only issue the weather can be erractic at that time of the year but still warm and there was more sunshine then cloud.
Overall a great hotal and a great location."

Enjoyed our stay at the Bella Napa Bay Hotel, Ayia Napa
"Enjoyed our stay at the Bella Napa Bay Hotel but as it was in April (over our Easter) there was entertainment only 1 night (and that was a second rate English singer). Everywhere in Cyprus its English music! Whats wrong with a bit of cypriot culture!! Hotel staff very friendly and helpful (although most of the time only about 20/30 guests there - we stayed 2 weeks). Everywhere spotless and the food was very good and plentiful. Don't think we'd enjoy Ayia Napa in the Summer although hotel far enough out of the town not to be affected by the noise etc. Hotel in a lovely location with sea views, although it was £130 extra for 2 to have a sea view. We had a rear view and that wasn't too bad but didn't think it was worth the extra money to pay for a sea view. With so few of us there it would have been a nice gesture to have upgraded us (we were 2 couples in our 50's) Hired a car and it was great getting around and really cheap and of course they drive on the same side of us which helps!."

"Myself and Partner went on holiday to Aiya Napa for the second time, choosing a hotel in the area that i think is better as its 1 km out of the centre and has a lovely uncrowded beach near and easy to get to the centre of Aiya Napa or into Protaras. The hotel has lovely views over the sea. But If you are English and want to chat or have a drink its all Germans at this hotel. We were the only English couple in the hotel when we went in June. The staff were casual didnt really care but didnt make our holiday miserable.
Food well theres not much choice really so we eat out alot we went half board, when you get there, you can upgrade to all inclusive, but i thought it wasnt worth it as the food wasnt the best. The best part of the holiday was the water park in Aiya Napa, and try the big chinesse resturant just down from the square they have spare ribs to die for!!!
It was an ok holiday but if we go again i think i would stay in the Ann Maria. If you want a cheap holiday were the staff are excellant stay at the Marina Hotel which is just next to the Bella Napa, bit basic but their really funny we sunbathered there instead...."

September 2003 - The Bella Napa - we liked it!
"We stayed at the Bella Napa for 2 weeks in sept/oct 2003. The weather was great (at least 30 every day). We only had rain for about 4 hours one afternoon. The hotel itself is very clean (our room was cleaned every day - even when we slept in til late morning). There is very little entertainment but the square is only a 20min walk. The walk into town is lined with bars and restaurants (Highly recommend the Liquid Bar!!! AMAZING cocktails and waitress service!!!) We ate out every night. There are lots of different places to try and we didnt have a bad meal anywhere. We went off season yet the evenings still had a great atmosphere for young people (20s) but it was probably a bit more chilled and suited to couples as it was off peak. The hotel pool was not huge but big enough and was very quiet. Easy to get sunbeds and a nice setting to read a book. There was a pool bar which did good snacks. There are 2 other hotel pools very near by that you can also use which are bigger. There are 2 supermarkets 5 mins walk away. The water park is a bus ride or taxi but isnt far away and well worth a visit. The excursions were not very good though (avoid Nicosia). Be warned Cyprus is VERY expensive. Food, drink etc is more expensive than an up market bar in England! All in all the Bella Napa was a good choice - far enough from the square that it was quiet but close enough to walk. The staff spoke good english and we even got birthday cards from them!!"

"Have stayed at Bella Napa before: First class family owned hotel with mainly Cypriot staff that are very friendly.
Pool quite small but this was known and we always use local beaches from Ayia Napa to Ayia Thekla as we always have a car. Lots of good eating places within walking distance of the hotel although steep on the way back.
Lots of Cypriot eating in local villages, Paralimini, Dhyernia, Pernera, and Sotera.
Lots of evening entertainment in the hotel if thatâs what you want with a mix of guest from British, Russian, German, and Swiss. Seem strange being called a repeater.
Only problem we had been booking with Libra, the flight we had from Luton cancelled meals at the last minute when we had paid so everything on board had to be paid for.
Next time will book with Thomas Cook as they give vouchers or packed meals and drinks."

"Good family run hotel now run by son Kikkis.
Whilst there are the odd foreign worker, in the main most staff have been at the hotel for years and make you feel very welcome, and are very accommodating.
Breakfast is the norm but can get very busy at peak times.
We stayed last two weeks of September and towards the end of the holiday there were discounted parties coming in, of young people from Russia and Germany.
The pool is quite small and old plants give lots of shade. Beach is just across the road so no problem. Or, if you have a car try Ayia Thekla beach near the small church pass the Water Park, nice and quite and mostly Brits.
Good entertainment every night if thatâs your thing. Or a walk down the road into Ayia Napa which is not so busy now, apart from festival week which is always in September.
Places to eat if you don't have a car, you can walk into Ayia Napa or take a bus or taxi ride to Paralimini where there are Tavernas, or a little further Dhyernia has many good Tavernas."

"My wife and I had a great time here. A great beach is just across the road and town is a 15/20 minutes walk - last few hundred yards uphill coming back. The hotel room was good with great views over the town and bay. We were B/B and found the breakfast buffet to be good with selection of cold/hot food. Very friendly staff!
Pool area small but we prefer the beach so this not a problem.
Try Los Banditos Mexican Restaurant (near square). Super food and great atmosphere - may have to wait for table as very popular."
