Hidden jewel 200 meters from the palace complex
"We stayed at the Royal Accomodation in late November 2008. After trying to locate a sobe close to the palace complex, we happened upon this 6 room jewel. The Royal is a perfect location if you are traveling by bus, train, boat, plane or rental car. The hotel is 10 minutes from Bacvie Beach, 200 meters east of the rome palace complex and 5 minutes from the dock and Riva. There are a number of great eating places very close by and the owner bent over backwards to furnish a solid breakfast. The room was very clean, quiet, and comfortable."

Great accomodation, wonderful hospitality
"I spent 4 days in Royal accomodation this September, it was recommended to me by a friend. The rooms were clean and spacious, air conditioned and had wireless internet access as well. The Royal is located very close to the city centre which was wonderful because I was not there with a car so everything was within walking distance!!! The owners - Radman family, were the perfect hosts and I'm looking forward to visiting Royal again next year!!!"

"Royal Accommodation, The title says it all, absolutely perfect location, a five minute walk to the Old city and Diocletians Palace. Excellent Kanoba's, restaurants, and markets immediately below the property in a quiet street. Our apartment was brand new, sparkling clean and modern, very comfortable including a great large bathroom with a wonderful shower! The owners are warm, friendly and helpful. A truly wonderful find in a great historic city, you will be happy you stayed here! Mike"

Clean, modern, comfortable
"We had stayed previsously at the Peristil, but it was fully booked during the big Diocletian Nights weekend at the end of July, so the receptionist there suggested that we try the Royal. We did, and it was excellent. Our two rooms were spacious, clean, air-conditioned (with flat-screen tv), and reasonably priced. The bathrooms were modern and cheerful. The proprietress Alexandra was extremely nice and helpful. It's conveniently located, about a two-minute walk to the harbor and the walled city. We thoroughly enjoyed it."

"We would like to thank Aleksandra and her husband for the wonderful hospitality. The Royal was referred to us by another hotel and we took our chances since there was no website available. The B&B is new, super clean, air conditioned with wonderful large showers which were welcomed after a 5 hour journey on the ferry boat from Italy! The location is perfect with only a few minutes walk to the market, ferry terminal and historical centre. There is no lift for those travelling with heavy luggage and small children; however, the single flight is more than bearable!"

High standard, Good Service and location
"We stayed 3 nights in Royal Accomodation in Split. The accomodation is perfectly located close to the old Town, beach and the harbour. It is almost new and the room and bathroom has high standard. Alexandra will give you good service and tips for what to do and where to go. Overall I would say this accomodation met all my requirements and can easily recommend it."

well appointed apartments
"We were directed here by another apartment owner (who didn't have availability). Initially we were a little concerned - there is graffiti on the wall as per previous review, but the apartments are wonderful - a real surprise. Our room was bright and airy, clean and new. Good facilities - TV, CD player, free Wifi. Great shower. Breakfast - usual stuff, but in addition - freshly cooked eggs - mmmm - served in a bright breakfast room. A better breakfast experience than Hotel Slavija. Alesandra - the owner - is incredibly helpful and friendly. The previous review does not give a true reflection of the accommodation. I imagine if you were travelling alone and arrived here at night, you might well be a bit put off by the graffiti (though there seems to be graffiti absolutely everywhere in Croatia) and outside of building, but the reality is that the area is safe, a quick 5 mins walk to the palace and Riva. And it's much quieter than the rooms in the centre - you can actually get a good night's sleep here! The 'unlocked balcony' door (referred to in the last review) could only be accessed from the outside by someone like Spiderman and I don't think he takes any holidays in Split. This is a good alternative to staying inside the palace walls. It's not an old original stone property and it's not the Hotel Peristile, but it is safe, clean, comfortable and convenient - ignore the negative comments in the last review. (though fair enough to be upset if you were originally booked into the Hotel Peristile and got bumped) There is now a website - www.accomodation-split.com - and it seems that you can make reservations via that, though not interactive. Split is a fantastic city to visit. Every corner you turn brings another surprise. Great cafe and bar scene. Much prefer Split to Dubrovnik. There are more local people enjoying the place, it feels much more real than Dubrovnik. Hvar is also lovely - and possible to do it on a day trip - great swimming round by Hotel Amfora, and you can use their facilities - cheaper to use the sunloungers on beach rather than pool or cabanas. Enjoy your trip! BTW - the traffic situation from Split centre to the airport.......horrendous. There is no way it can be done in the much quoted 30-35 mins. Give yourself at least a hour, in not longer. We did it today in 55 mins, but we had a seriously aggressive (in his driving) taxi driver....would never have got flight without him. Other folk had taken over 90 mins for same journey."

Disliked the Hotel Peristil
"I was booked at the Peristil Hotel and put into the Royal apartments ten minutes walk away. It was in a dreadful area, a 3 floor walk up stone steps in a grafitti-covered building without a phone and a door to the balcony without a lock over a noise alley. The room itself was okay and clean. I felt so unsafe I did not go out for dinner because of the location. For this I was charged 800 Kn. a night by the Hotel Peristil and have never been so miserable."

Very new apartment a 5 minute walk from Diocletian's Palace
"These three very new apartments are in a building very close to the palace in Split. Our room was spacious and clean and in perfect condition. It had a private bath as well. We booked the room by email as the owner, Alexsandra Radman, does not have a website. To get to the apartment we drove to the ferry terminal area and called her cell phone. Her son came to find us at the port and got in our car to guide us to on-street (free) parking a short distance from the apartment. The apartment was very close to the old town, Riva, palace, and ferry terminal."
