Fabulous + best service ever
"Great location in Split: 5 min walk from the old centre, 15 min walk from the pebles beaches and 20 min walk from sandy beaches. Loads of good local restaurants (my personal favourite: a tapas restaurant on the top floor of a building at the corner of the first roundabout on the way to the centre), proximity to all amenities, etc. Great appartments, in particular the 3 newly refurbished cottages (I wish I booked one of those now that I saw them). Great "resort", with a big terrace/garden and lots of fruit trees, from which guests can freely pick the most amazing figs and plums. Last but not least: Nikola is simply the best host EVER. He is always available to help, he welcomes guests with a map of Split and a comprehensive explanation of everything there is to know. One day, one of the inflatable tyres of our baby push chair exploded (it was old!), Nikola immediately stopped what he was doing to hook us up in person with a local cycling repair shop, he arranged himself the delivery of the right size of tyre, etc."

great place to stay
"we stayed in the garden cottages for three instead of the two planned nights. Nicolas, the owner, was super nice. He came and picked us up from the boat pier and he organised us a map of the city and a welcome beer to drink in the beautiful garden. the apartment was newly renovated, huge and spotlessly clean. it even had wifi access."

"My nephew and I stayed at the Garden Apartments for two nights. Nicola, the property manager was extremely accommodating and helped us with directions to the apartments and in finding free parking for our rental car (on a side-street a few blocks away). The first night we stayed in one of the Garden Apartments (Cottage Zelena); it was adequate and clean. Due to a prior reservation, on the second night we needed to relocate to the main house (Apartment Olga); we liked this even better. The apartments are located a little ways up a hill. After you enter the main gate for the property you immediately have a flight of stone stairs taking you to the main pebble pathway. And if you're staying in the Apartment Olga, you'll have an additional flight of stairs. The stairs were not a problem for us but could be for someone with loads of luggage or health issues -- but then again, so could almost every accommodation in Europe. Both the cottage and the apartment had A/C, which was needed due to the heat. Both units have kitchenettes. The property is located near the marina and the old city. There are quaint neighborhood restaurants, a laundry facility, internet cafe and small grocery stores located in the vicinity. I also believe there is a beach in walking distance of the property. The apartments are in a neighborhood so you run into locals on a regular basis. We had a very pleasant stay."

Great owners and apartments!
"Great honest owners that have simple, clean apartments in a great location. They are improving the apartments currently so it is just going to keep on getting better!"

"The Garden Private Accomodation in Solurat 22, Split was okay. The apartment was basic. The compound where a number of apartments owned by the family is situated on a street that is littered with construction rubble as a result of massive renovations being done to a number of properties in the vicinity. The front door to the compound looked like a relic from the days of armed conflict - a white pock-marked heavy metal door with a broken handle. Inside, as one walks through a narrow passage with the apartments lined along the right side of "garden" passage, we had to contend with the less than desirable scene and obstacles resulting from extensive renovation being done to all of the properties along that passage. Our apartment had a nice enough private-ish terrace, but the flooring and the decorative aspects of the terrace were in a partial state of completion. The apartment we had was tight for space, had badly fitted doors (i.e. one of the front doors and the doors to the kitchenet cabinets), and the heater function from the air-con unit took ages to warm up the apartment and despite leaving it on for several hours, the apartment, especially the bedroom, remained chilly. The location of the apartment was very convenient, as mentioned by previous reviewers, and it is conveniently located for exploring Split Old Town, shopping, internet cafes, eating and strolling along Split's famous promenade. Nicola should not have accepted reservations for his apartments until all renovations have been completed within the compound of his property. It certainly did not leave us wanting to return any time soon."

Great Garden Split Apartments
"We spent 10 days at Garden Split apartments and can highly recommend them. The apartments are comfortable, clean and in a beautifull old area, quiet with a nice garden and close to the Riva and other sights. Restaurants, shops etc are not far and the beach is a 10/15 minute walk. Nicola and his family were very helpfull and welcoming and we look forward to staying there again in June/July 2008. www.croatiasplitapartments.com"

Simply a great place to stay
"The Garden Private Accomodation in Solurat 22, Split, is a great place to stay and we can highly recommend it. Initially, we booked only one night in advance, anticipating to stay in Split for just one day. Nevertheless, we ended up staying for a whole week. The rooms are great, the rates are more than reasonable and the location within the old city centre is perfect. Add to this an extraordinary level of personalised service and genuine friendlyness provided by the owner, Nikola, and you have a winner. Thomas Rolsted, Denmark"

Great hostel close to the city centre
"We booked this hostel just by random - hostel looked nice and the location seemed to be excellent. After we arrived to Split we were more than welcome to hostel, the owner guided us the city sights, showed us how things work at the hostel and above that all the room we got was excellent and no need to say that it's really close to the city too. I'll recommend this place to any one how's going to Split, but please hurry! There's no room for everyone! :)"
