So charming you'll overlook their mistakes
"You'll fall in love with this hotel. It's fully of charm, large & comfortable rooms, the staff was very nice & helpful, delicious (and generous) breakfast, and a PERFECT location! But it wasn't perfect, as their operations aren't very smooth. I don't want to "rant", as they were all pretty minor issues, but it just felt like there were a lot of small mistakes that they could work on. Examples... they didn't have our reservation. They were quick to claim booking.com but they lost another couple's reservation while we were there too, so I'm not sure who is really to blame (but the staff was nice & eventually found us another room). Hvar seems like a very safe town, but I still didn't like that you have to leave your key in the lobby, which was unattended for most of the time we were there. Once a maid took our key out and entered our room when we had the "do not distrub" sign on. They also left our luggage unattended for a full day (we were told to leave it and they would store it shortly, but never did). Lastly, there is not wifi in every room as advertised. Again, nothing terrible, just kinda sloppy. I still think the pros outweigh the cons, so just be prepared to go with the flow and you'll enjoy your stay."

A very pleasant hotel
"We booked three double rooms for our family for our three day stay in Hvar. The hotel was very well situated just off the main square. We found the staff very pleasant and helpful and were met off the ferry and accompanied for the short walk to the hotel. The rooms were attractively furnished and of a good size, ours had a balcony. The bathroom was well appointed but it took a while to work out how to use the shower.Breakfast was served in the courtyard and was very good. The evening meal was comparable to other restaurants in the town.Hvar is a lovely island and if we do return we would be more than happy to return to the Hotel Nora."

A definite if staying on the island of Hvar
"I've just arrived back from a week's trip in Croatia which included a two night stay in Hvar. Having seen the hotel online we decided to chance arriving on spec. The hotel is located right in the heart of the old town and is just a short walk from where the boat docked. Our room (for 3 people) was really spacious with a bathroom to be seen to be believed. The breakfast which is included in the price was a feast with fresh fruit, meats, cheeses, bread and an omlette which set us up for the day. The staff were all lovely and always on hand to help and to top it off the owner drove us across to StariGrad to get the ferry. I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are staying on the island and I will certainly be returning in the near future."

"What a great place with bags of character. Sure, when we were there the refurb wasn't complete but what the hell the room was spacious, the bathroom beautifully fitted and the location excellent. A bit tricky to find in the first place but it's just where you want to be, right by the main square and 110yards from the water. Food is great and service excellent. Wonderful staff. Just watch out for the giant of a man who runs the place. If he gets the chance he'll sit and drink with you all day! You haven't lived until he's served you lobster on the balcony as you watch the world go by."

"Charming hotel with wonderful and helpful staff. We spent there the best days of our holiday in Croatia. The rooms are big and fully equiped, the service is exceptional and their restaurant is really far the best of the island. We definitely recomend this hotel which will remain for us a compulsory destination in our future holidays in Croatia."

a special hotel full of character
"We recently spent four days in this lovely old hotel in the heart of Old Hvar. It has recently been renovated to a very high standard. Our room was very large, and came complete with TV, DVD, Fridge, balcony, fancy jacuzzi type shower, sofa, and fresh flowers to match the decor. Breakfast was exceptional and could fill you up for the whole day -everything was on offer - fruit juice, meats, cheese, bread, yogurts, eggs and fresh fruit etc. The Hotel staff were very attentive, thoughtful and helpful. We particularly appreciated the early morning lift to the ferry in Stari Grad, preceded by an early breakfast. The hotel is situated just off the main square and is perfect for access to ferries, exploring the town, and soaking up the atmosphere. This is a car-free area so the main sounds are those of people enjoying themselves and occasional church bells. We can thoroughly recommend this hotel! Dublin couple"

"Just returned from Hvar. The hotel was excellent, high standard of facilities and very stylish in the rooms with a good mix of contemporary fittings in an old building. The rooms are a good size and the bathroom aswell. Breakfast is excellent with a choice of meats and cheese, fruit, yoghurts, breads and omlette was offered to us aswell. It is located in a fairly quiet side street about two minutes from the main square. The owner is a friendly bear of a man and his daughter, Nora, is also friendly with legs up to her armpits!"

Quiet, boutique style hotel/B&B
"Booked this place after reading reviews and decided the Adriatic and Yacht club were just too expensive. Hvar is a great place, but in spite of the expensive and exclusive hotels it seems to be full of loud, drunk antipodeans. The Villa Nora is very nice to stay in, but we didn't find the service that great. I called in advance to check the ferry times and the proprietor wasn't that helpful on the phone. He certainly didn't offer to meet us or give instructions on where the Villa was (which took a bit of time to find as entrance is just off street it is listed under). It then didn't help that the weather was awful and my partner was ill. The room was big and comfortable and the bathroom was nice (but the rather complicated shower didn't seem to have enough pressure to utilise all the extra spouts). Breakfast was good and the location great (although off the harbourside). It was a good stay but didn't have the "wow" factor."

"What a beautiful property! Our hosts were terrific, even drove us 25 minutes to the ferry, getting up early at 6:00 a.m. to do it. Rooms are brand new, breakfast terrific and included in price. All the help were smiling and wonderful. Refrigerators in the room, stereo, TV, DVD. Bathrooms include a bidet and multi-stream shower. Very quiet rooms. Would have given it five stars but the owners are not quite through with the renovation. A few holes here and there but nothing to spoil our stay. Stayed mid-May. Paid very small price for the quality."

Perfect location, perfect hosts, perfect holiday!
"This beautiful old Venetian built family house has been sympathetically refurbished this year (2007) to create a lovely family run hotel with 'the personal touch'. The staff ( Tony and Robert deserve a special mention) really made our stay memorable and nothing was too much trouble. The plentiful and varied breakfast, which is included ,was served in the courtyard restaurant and cooked to order at whatever time we pleased. The rooms are spacious and airy and kept spotlessly clean daily. We had a room with a balcony at the front of the hotel, which was in the sunshine all day. Despite being one block behind the bustling main square in Hvar, the hotel was blissfully peaceful and quiet. (Apart from the church bell striking the hour!). We would certainly return to this place in the future."
