"I was not sure when I arrived about the hotel - up at 2am, left Gatwick 7am and when we arrived we could not enter our rooms - not happy. However, we could leave suitcases and get changed so did and had a walk around.
Hotel ended up being great, staff very nice and very helpful, good fun and talkative.
Cavtat - what can I say - I wanted to buy a house and move there. The place was stunning. Every corner you went round another fantastic view. Fell in love with it. Very peaceful, very beautiful, just great.
Food good, some people a bit offish, but on the whole very nice and kind. Made our own way round on scooters, and went to some lovely places - roads good and quiet. Did go on Croatian night - well worth it, really good evening up in the mountains with a family in their home.
Would recommend Cavtat to everyone - well I have. Going back to Croatia this year, but we want to see the North side of the Island this time, don't think it will be as lovely as the South, but we will see.

Lovely Little Supetar
"This hotel is great - it is in a perfect beautiful location - it is clean although decor is a little dated. Breakfast is very good and the breakfast terrace is just fantastic looking out over the harbour. It is for those people who want somewhere clean, friendly and small and we would highly recommend it if you stay in the spectacular resort of Cavtat. We did visit the bigger hotels while there and though they were high tech and spacious we were glad to get back to our lovely little place. Give it a go - you will not be dissapointed."

Delightful gem of a hotel
"A funny old-fashioned hotel - rather like a guest house really, but its location right on the harbour, in a quiet corner, make it an ideal base for exploring with the aid of the ferries into Dubrovnik & beyond. Friendly & efficient service, all that you could want in a small hotel"

The Perfect Holiday
"The Supetar Hotel is located right at the end of the harbour with a restuarant next door. The room was vey clean, and as we had a room on the front the views were good. The double glazing was excellent so no night-time noise and good air-conditioning. The hotel decor is somewhat dated and the carpet throughout the hotel is vile - straight out of the 1970's! The room was quite small but more than adequate.
Cavtat is a stunning resort. The water is so clear that it was like looking into an aquariam. There is lots to do, regular water taxis go from Cavtat to Dubrovnik. Although don't go there during the middle of the day because it gets incredibly hot, and can be jammed with cruise ship tours.
We found Croatians to be very welcoming and its the first place we have been to where outside the UK within Europe where its safe to drink the tap water so don't bother buying bottled water. The restaurants were many and varied, although the prices were not as cheap as we had expected. The harbour was fascinatig as there were some huge boats there, and it was nice to see how the very rich live. Some of the boats had at least six crew on board, and were probably over 100' long, complete with jet skis !
Probably not the best place for children, as there was'nt a sandy beach (although there was further round the bay). Best probably for couples.
It was very very quick transfer from the airport, and we wee worried about aircraft noise, but can honestly say that it did'nt bother us.
We would definately return."

Th Supetar is located at the end of the...
"Th Supetar is located at the end of the old harbour and if you get a room facing th front of the hotel you will get fab views of the harbour. The decor is somewhat dated with a horror of a 1970's carpet throughout the whole hotel. No lift so no good for disabled travellers. The room was small but very clean and comfortable beds. We went for the Bed and Breakfast option, and judging from other guests comments, this is definately the best choice as it would appear that the evening meals were a little hit and miss. No pool but you can use the facilities at the sister Hotel Croatia. Lots of restuarants to choose from near by and a very good base to explore the rest of the stunning coastline and countryside from. Very close to the airport but we experienced no nuisance from noise. The room had excellent double glazing and air conditioning."

"Needed ice and a little more attention for drinks but this hotel fits the bill, and if not, its sister hotel, Hotel Croatia meets every other need. Very clean, reception very helpful, apart from one tall lady who really isn't the best introduction to the place. No pool here, no terrace or balcony and like most of Croatian coast is pebbly at best rocky at worst but the sea is still fab. The location of the Supetar is second to none. While away the hours watching the world go by. We were lucky enough to be there for the Festival and had some lovely and enjoyable evenings of local singing as well as dancing, and especially classical works performed by a visiting Canadian choir accompanied by the Dubrovnik symphony orchestra which was wonderful. Supetar has no pool and no bar to speak of, but within literally metres there is the shore, bars and restaurants and the two guys who seem to run the restaurant at Supetar between them every day, are part of the charm! Its not cheap in Croatia - it was when I was last there but many many moons ago. Remember this is a non EU country so stock up on the duty free on the way home!"

Loved this simple little hotel
"We booked this hotel through a last minute deal at our local travel agent and decided upon Supertar rather than a bigger hotel and I am so glad we did.
Ok the hotel is small and so are the rooms but they are all very clean and comfortable, for somewhere to base yourself and sleep it is perfect. The hotel doesn't have many facilities like pool etc but this forces you to go out and use the local beaches with the locals who are all so friendly. As you walk around Cavtat there are hundreds of different little spots among the rocks where you can relax all day in the sun and dip in and out of the beautiful water.
The staff in the hotel where wonderful and always happy to help and answer any questions. The food was basic but nice hearty food, just what you wanted having been out all day.
this hotel has the best location in the whole of Cavtat."

"We really liked this hotel after being a bit put off by some of the comments.
It was probably in the best spot in Cavtat and much more friendly than the
sister hotel Croatia although they had all the amenities. It was nice to be on
top of all the bars and shops. We found the food was good as long as you didnt
expect too much. The breakfast was also fine you could have eggs any way!!! as
well as the cold buffet. Not a place to go if you like the beach as there isnt
one only rocks but that was fine for us."

"I had read some reviews before I went here and was expecting it to be worse than it was. The hotel is in the most perfect location but is quite old fashioned. The first thing that hit me was the very 'loud' carpet throughout (even in the rooms) that really should be removed or at least cleaned. The furniture in reception is also quite ancient. We were allocated a very small room, not all of them are as small as the one we had and it was also at the back of the kitchen. This meant we were woken at 7.00am each morning by kitchen noises/machines, chairs being moved around and the staff. There was no fridge in the room, which I think is quite a basic requirement, no balconies on any of the rooms and no pool. One of its plus points is that it is a small hotel and we found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. The hotel, our room and the eating areas were kept clean and tidy. However if you are a foodie beware, the evening meal was very hit and miss, I think it depends which chef is on! Sometimes it was nice sometimes awful and the breakfasts are basic and repetitive. However, the view from the dining area is fantastic. We used the facilities at the sister hotel (The Croatia) a lot which is a very big hotel opposite this one across the bay (you can walk there). Overall the Supetar has the best location in Cavtat and we enjoyed our stay. But - we were only there for a week!"

Hated this place!
"I saw this sweet looking hotel over a year ago and saved the vision for a special stay there when my older sister visited in September 2006. We are posted in Sarajevo, Bosnia right now so I planned what I thought would be a great vacation of Bosnia, Croatia and a bit of Montenegro for her one visit to us. I specifically chose Cavtat as a base along with Korcula....not as touristy, convenient, etc. It was a wonderful idea that this hotel almost ruined. The customer service is non-existent. It was hot, we asked for ice, they said we had to wait an hour for the bar to open. My sister's single room barely had a foot around the bed to move. Windows had views of alleys. The staff was rude. When we complained we got no results. I even wrote a letter afterwards to the managment and received no reply. We have stayed the world over and really have few standards, we are easy people to get along with. This hotel was impossible to deal with. It looks cute from the outside, but take my word for it, looks are deceiving."

Best location in the village
"The location of this hotel is fab - almost in the sea at the edge of the main bay so lovely retaurants, boats to Dubrovnik etc within a stones throw. A great place to watch the world go by & the hustle & bustle if the bay. certainly if you have children or are disabled, a lot of accommodation in Cavtat is up a very steep hill so this location is superb.
The hotel looks quaint, no balconies or pool but a reasonable terrace. Another pro is that it is sister hotel to the upmarket Croatia Hotel so clients can use their facilities for free but then escape back down to the pretty village for the more authentic feel.
Rooms and breakfasts reasonable. The only thing I hated was the hideous patterned carpet throughout the hotel! Not necessary!
We just called in & booked this (but it was May).
Part of the Iberostar Hotel chain (think Holiday Options use it). Just go to the end of the bay with all the cafes on your right. it's the squarish looking building."
