Not what we expected !
"Arrived at Korona after midnight , to be shown to our room and found it had not been cleaned properly !We didn't want to unpack , but couldn't see the Manageress til next morning !She got a cleaner to move the panty liners from the side of the TV on the floor which was in plain view , they were unused , but obviously it hadn't been cleaned , just had beds changed . the shower curtain was too short as someone said in a review 5 yrs ago and the breakfast was inedible as they also said! The beds were poor , and springs stuck out and the pillows were like lumps of wool ?The earlier reviews from 2 -5 yrs ago were exactly right , but nothing has changed ? The only good thing about the Hotel , was its location..All in all , an old Hotel which needs updating and some money spent on it !Spoiled our holiday really as we had to go out fro breakfast , instead of eating the one we had paid for !"

GOOD OUTWEIGHS BAD
"Clean & modern hotel just minutes from a lovely clean beach. Large rooms equipped with fridge, TV, air conditioning & radio. Cleaned daily. Staff helpful & friendly - most of 'front of house' spoke English to a greater or lesser degree. Has 24 hour bureau de change, a small bar which stays open as long as required, a hairdresser & a spa. Two pools both shallow & one ideal for children (cleaned daily but icy cold when I was there). Bus stop for Varna, Burgas & Nessebar just five minutes walk away, main shopping square of Sunny Beach approx 10 minute walk. Can walk to Old Nessebar either along the beach or by road in about an hour but bus takes just a few minutes & costs the equivalent of 50p single. Very close to a 24 hour mini supermarket, souvenir shops etc. A taxi stand close by. Breakfast is poor and suggest you avoid the hot food as it is never hot. Plenty of places close by which serve good quality English Breakfast for just a couple of pounds. None of the TV remote controls work, you have to use the buttons on TV to change channels but there are about 40 including several English language ones. Walls of rooms seem thin as able to hear everything said in adjoining room. Wooden pool loungers seen better days but still serviceable. No pre-pay internet but believe there are internet cafes further down Sunny Beach. Smoking allowed on balcony of rooms but no food allowed in rooms and there is a fine if this rule broken. Can, however, take own kettle for hot drinks- don't forget adaptor."

"I recently got back from Bulgaria and me and my friend stayed in the Korona Hotel. in our opinion the hotel was great! the rooms were very clean and A LOT bigger than the photo's suggest which was nice. not having to pay for the air con was good as well. we decided to rent the safety deposit box and had no trouble with theive's or heard anything from the other guests, you just need to be aware like you do anywhere we stayed on the 3rd floor and our balcony had sunshine till about 7pm which was lovely! room service was everyday with fresh towels and sheets and the cleaners were so friendly much like the rest of the staff, we would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and cant wait to go back! would have given a top ten, but for the sunbeds, which when i asked was told they are changing them for new ones this season, although the beds didnt seem to deter people from using them, the pool is great and the bar is very cheap too, only thing to be aware of is that the food isn't brilliant in the hotel, same as many hotels to be honest, but always can manage to find a snack if you want one. Please dont let the Negative's put you off this hotel."

"Stayed in the Korona between 3rd to 10th July 2009 and had a fantastic time! Myself and my friend went for a week of sun, nightlife and food all of which were superb. The hotel is just off the beach and about a 10min walk from the centre of sunny beach. The hotel is very clean and modern, with a huge open plan entrance. The rooms were very clean and had a big balcony, we had two single beds, fridge, very cold air con, TV and a wetroom shower and toilet. The pool was very nice and clean and had a swim up bar. We only stayed on a BB basis and the breakfast wasnât amazing but its so cheap out there we just had a English fry up round the corner. Beer ranges from 50p to £1.50 and a really nice evening meal in Djannys you will be looks at £8 each inc drink!! I would really recommend this hotel as its a great base to explore sunny beach from. Me and my mate were both 25 and sunny beach was fantastic for us met loads of people when out and about, Viking club is the best night club!"

"If you havent been to Sunny Beach bulgaria. its a must. the price are really unbelievable. . . anyways . . the Korona hotel is the best hotel we have stayed at. previousely in 2006 we stayed at the diamond hotel which was ok but not as spakin fabuluss as this hotel. The hotel itself is clean, friendly and in a perfect location. it cost us less than £1500 for the 6 of us for 2 weeks bed and breakfast. if you are going to this hotel we would suggest for you to make sure your room is on the poolside if you don't like heat otherwise you will get the front view of the hotel which has got this amazing view but its really really hot. We recomend this to everyone. its quite and 5 mins away from the lush beach, its got everything you would want in its area and its a walk away from a brill nightclub."

"To be brief the Hotel Korona was best for being its cleaniless, moderness and the pool and cheapness of drinks avaliable at the hotel bar. On the other hand, the staff spoke limited English, the food wasnt always excellent - although we did find this was across all the hotels even those that are 5 star from the people we spoke with whilst on holiday. The safe is 65 levs for a fortnight. The hotel is well situated, around 5 mins from the beach which was lovely and 15/20 mins from the centre of sunny beach. We found the hotel to be good, the hotel globus is where all the entertainment was such as bingo, quizs and bar crawls and so on. We would reccommend to book the off road adventure and blue mountains trip as both we thought were excellent. The blue mountains one you get to take a chair lift from the top to the bottom of the mountain. The off road adventure is a very bumpy jeep ride across a forest and then you get to go quad biking, archery, shooting and horse riding in a village also. Both have lunch included. Theres plenty to do in sunny beach itself as it is commericalised. We also enjoyed going shopping in Bourgas and visiting Nessebar. We didnt think much of the plane journey to sunny beach with Balkan as provided with stale sandwich and one member of staff we saw being quite rude to a customer. On the way back it was improved in terms of service, but sandwich was the same. Also the bedding at the hotels sometimes had stains on which was a bit annoying when had to use extra bedding from the wardrobe. Overall we enjoyed the Hotel Korona and sunny beach, but there are some improvements mainly the food (in general for Bulgaria) and also the communications with staff if they could speak more English it would help considerably. If you have any complex probs you will almost defiantly have to speak with your rep"

fabby dabby hol
"hotel korona is a big bright glass building with 2 lifts that worked for the 2 wks we were there ,big dining area with every thing you can think of for breakfast from cereal to cakes ,sardines to salami, fruit to filo pastry wraps boiled eggs fried eggs ,scrambled eggs anyone who grumps about the breakfast must be mad.we found the pool area not very big so you had to be up early to get a sun bed in the best position as the sun didnt cover the whole area.bedrooms were fine clean towels everyday didnt clean sheets enough for my liking, maids said good morning everyday reception staff also fine.beautiful beach 1 min away, plenty nightlife pubs shops restaurants all nearby but not to close to put you of sleep.would definatly recommend this hotel and nearby pomerie is great for the kids club."

What a dump.
"This supposedly 4 star hotel is terrible. Rooms aren't too bad although the linen was ripped in places, the air conditioning didn't work very well, the television channels were of no use to English people, (other hotels I have stayed in had some English channels), during my second week the maid issued me with a second hand piece of soap!! There is a notice in the room with a price list of everything in the room that you would be charged for if you broke it or stole it maybe!! Plus another notice informing you that you would be fined if you brought food into the room. The maids were a misery and didn't even bother trying to say good morning. They definitely don't cater for the English. I will eat anything, but the food was awful, boiled eggs stored in boiling water permanently, so they were always like a brick. Water for tea was luke warm, coffee was the same. Fried eggs were in stored in a1 inch of oil!! Scrambled eggs were an abomination. Restaurants outside could supply Bacon, sausages and "Heinz" beans, the hotel couldn't be bothered. The first week there was 1 toaster which required you to put the bread through at least 5 times before you got some colour on the bread. Second week they brought out another old toaster, same problem, didn't get hot enough. Breakfast finished at 10.00am. if you were desperate enough to want say, a second cup of tea at 10 minutes to 10, you were unlucky as they had put all the food away. The dining room staff were also a misery. They also persisted in walking around removing things from the tables whilst you were still eating. It was buffet style, so if say you went for more butter or milk etc, when you sat back down to the table you would probably find your breakfast had been removed. There was a bar in reception and a pool bar. However the staff at the pool bar would not fetch you Hot drinks from the other bar, they told you to get them yourself and it wasn't because they were busy, just idol. There was no snacks or crisps at the pool bar, just empty stands. We were there 2 weeks and they also kept running out of beer. The football matches were on whilst we were there and there was a good number of people watching, but the staff persisted in playing music all night even though 99% of the people in the bar were watching the football."

"I stayed in this lovely hotel in Septemeber. The rooms are lovely and clean. Our towels where changed every other day, even thou we was only there for a week. The hotel is near bars, but the noise wasnt that bad at night. The hotel is clean and has friendly staff. Air conditioning in all rooms with is really good when it gets mad hot there. The pool area is ok, however the sun only goes on it after dinner. We went B&B, the breakfast is good but really does more for the germans. The hotel is near bars and shops. I like the bars for being so chepa and the shops, however the only thing is they bug you to go in their bars. If you touch clothes in their shops they are asking you what size!! And they have now learnt how to say " ASDA PRICE". I would highly recommend Bulgaria to any one, due to the cheapnest once you are there."
