one weeks holiday
"just returned from weeks holiday half board the hotel is clean but dated in quite a few areas the staff are friendly but i would only go bed and breakfast at this hotel the breakfast are ok cereal toast jam fried egg boiled egg beans sausages which are not very nice the main meals are very basic chicken which are thighs chips salad very small section the pork was nice but there was some dishes that i would not want to eat the bread needs moving from the place it is as people you have to reach over the bread to put toast in which needs 3\4 turns to get brown there is unlimited orange and coffee also small section of fruit orange apple the pool area you have to get up early to get a bed careful attention round pool area as lots of cracked tiles and uneven floor it is a budget hotel really so dont expect too much the safe is not very good as it is only attatched to some wood in cupboard not good value for money the airconditioning is good and is free had a good holiday but lots of things that need attention at this hotel"

excellant value for money attractive hotel in an excellant positon
"We arrived late at night and was welcomed with a speedy check in, a smile and assistance with our luggage to a comfortable spacious room with a large balcony on the 3rd floor over looking the pool and beach. The hotel met all our expectations, but sadly the standard and the repetitive choice of meals left a lot to be desired. Amusing really once you get over the shock... queuing for slow toaster, the restaurant tea machine was always warm water, fruit juices were tasteless cold water. The hotel has lots of positives making it a lovely base to enjoy your holiday but if possible only stay B/B there's a great choice of restaurants and cheep and cheerful take away very close by. Top tip, do bring a travel kettle, they have an inflexible no tea or coffee in rooms policy. We enquired about paying for tea/coffee facilities or borrowing a kettle? Reception was so blunt in their refusal we laughed out loud! Very rude! all other staff are really nice, helpful and made time to chat to the guests. Oh nearly forgot, the Sunbeds are of a premium, need to get up 6am ish or invest in a Lilo, can sunbath on the lawns around the pool. We did enjoy our holiday and would be happy to return but only on a B/B basis"

"We stayed at the Fenix for the last week in May and the first in June 2012. The Hotel Cleanliness is top notched and all staff are super friendly. We only had B&B as we love eating out (but speaking to other guess I think the food was too much of the same thing). We had a choice of cooked or continetal breakfast. No problems with Sun beds by the pool but then we prefer the beach. The beach is 2 minutes away and itâs fantatic, if you fancy a great Food/Bar you wonât go wrong with Languna Beach Bar (staff & owner are lovely). When eating out at night the best restaurant by far is Kharna with its hidden Garden. Back to the hotel and the Kidz Club was excellent and run by the lovely Christine. Would I recommend this hotel? Yes 100% but go for B&B. on another note Emmy the Balkin Rep was very professional and was always available to help with any enquiry. Mike from Norwich "

"Just returned from here and can now understand all the mixed up reviews on this hotel. On the positive we found the rooms, bedding, hotel towels were clean (towels changed every day and bedding twice a week) The air conditioning in our 2 rooms was lovely and throughout the hotel. We found the staff very friendly and they always fussed around our little 5 year old daughter which she loved. The location is ideal for the beach as its literally just over the road. My daughter loved the kids club and the girl who ran it was wonderful with them all. There wasn't enough sunbeds and I'm ashamed to say that I was one to get up at 7 to reserve sunbeds as we tried lying on the grass the first day but were bothered by enormous ants. Unfortunately the food was dire. We ate out most of the time and one of my sons never bothered coming down for breakfast because even the toast tasted different to the toast served in the local restaurants(rock hard). 2 days before we were due to come home we tried the restaurant in the hotel for the last time and all spent the next day in the room with sickness and diarrhea. We had to travel home like this and my doctor has , after hearing our symptoms has said it sounds like gastroenteritis. We are still suffering. "

"i stayed here last year and loved it.we went again august this year, asked for a quiet room which we got, only had 2 neighbours for about 4 days out of the 2 weeks and only knew that cos of washing on balcony. never heard any noise from the pool or bar when the windows were closed 1 downside air-con made a right noise,so just switched it off when we wanted to sleep breakfast -dont know,we never up in time but plenty places to eat,and so cheap one of the best bars is marbella,my friends of 16 years george and marina own it,cross thru mini golf and your there cant wait to go back in may and august 2011 "

"I have just come back from a week in bulgaria and stayed in the fenix hotel. The staff are extremely friendly will do anything for you, before i had heard they were rude but quite the opposite, i think when i arrived i had the best room in the hotel, very spacious 2 beds and a sofa bed and 2 bathrooms, cleaners were excellent, everday towels were changed. if you do decide to come request a pool view as my view was brilliant and able to see the ocean in the distance. Dont feel you cant take anything from the mini bar becaus its really cheap unlike alot of hotels in sunny beach. The food is ok, breakfast isnt brilliant but for my holiday i was never really up in time to have any but evening meal is alot better, something different each night and a vast choice. There are a few foreigners but mostly a english hotel which is nice. bar in hotel very cheap 2lev a beer etc. On the whole i would recomend anyone staying there. "

fenix hotel and sunny beach
"my husband and i have been to the Fenix numerous times now over the last 6 years. We find that the people there are very friendly and extremely helpful and also very honest. You hear alot about people getting broken into but its never happened while we have been there and we have visited at different times of the year. Sunny beach is a beautiful clean resort with entertainment for all aspects of anyones holiday, be it relaxing or living it up.. there all kinds of different quisines for you to try and the food is always cooked fresh for you..The food in the fenix can be repiticious because you get beef, pork and chicken every night, but you also get a choice of other dishes so you can mix and match and try things you havent had before. There is always a good choice of salads and cooked meats and cheeses, plenty of fresh fruits and desserts. A holiday is what you make it yourself but at the Fenix its made extremely happy as you feel relaxed there .. I would recommend this Hotel to anybody which i have already done. Happy Holidays xxx"

Fantastic hotel - highly recommended
"This hotel was fantastic. The rooms were spacious and the staff were helpful and friendly. The rooms had mini-bars, air conditioning and a balcony. Rooms were cleaned every day. The pool was large and sun beds were available free of charge. The hotel is in a great location - the beach is across the road and the hotel is surrounded by bars and restaurants. The resort centre is only a few minutes walk away. I moved to this hotel a few days into my holiday as I was originally staying in Hotel Pomerie which was shocking. Although these two hotels are next door to each other, they couldn't be more different. I would definitely recommended Hotel Fenix and would return there myself. "

Fresh and Clean
"Have just returned from the Fenix Hotel in Sunny Beach (Sep 08) We found the hotel above our expectations. It was very clean and tidy and the room were a decent size with a lovely bathroom and views (over the sea - make sure you are pool side). The maids cleaned the room everyday - although appeared quite reluctant to leave us additional soaps... and we had more than enough space for everything. The hotel staff were all very welcoming and we had no problems with them. From reading the other reviews we were expecting the food to be a little basic so we were not shocked. To be honest the breakfast is fine, lots on offer (hot and cold) but at dinner time it was the same meal every night and if you didnt get there early it was quite slim pickings in the evening. We found the food fine but became a little tired of the selection and although we were half board we would eat out elsewhere - as it was cheap we didnt feel we were wasting money Going on appearances the hotel would definitely rate amongst the best in the area and the pool was much nicer than others on offer. Location wise the hotel was right on the beach so was perfect and was just far enough from the main strip of bars in the town centre that it was not too loud at night One point, the "fitness room" left a little to the imagination, it was a large room with no equipment that still worked except a couple of free weights...but then it provided the perfect excuse to not do any exercise!"

Nice hotel, Pity about the food
"Just got back from sunny beach Bulgaria, stayed at the fenix hotel and found it to be a very good hotel apart from the fact there was no entertainment at all.We checked out the hotel through trip adviser and found the information very accurate. The main problem with this hotel is the food, it is not bad quality it's just the same every mealtime . After a week we did complain to the rep who had a word with the manager and they usually put on an extra dish, but if you didn't get to the restaurant early the "Guest Dish" was all gone. Sunny beach as a whole is very commercialised and noisey and not as cheap as it was."
