Would go again.
"The Hotel was kept very clean and tidy, inside and out.
Food wise,it had a very good selection on offer at all times.
You have to take into consideration that they are trying to please people from all contries.
So you cant please every body.
We felt they could ask parents to keep an eye on there children in the resturant.
Not everybody likes them running round while you are trying to eat.
Annimation team very frendly,not pushy.
We were happy with location,no husle busle."

"Hotel was spotless. Excellent choice of foods at every meal. Good quality spirts at the bar. Very family friendly, entertainment and ativities for small children from early morning to 8 at night. No larger louts or unruly children at this international hotel. There was some building work on the road to the hotel but this caused no disrubtion when in the complex. I am a really light sleeper and was not disturbed atall whilst on holiday here for two weeks. Would also reccommend a day trip to the Sunni Beach aqua park which was excellent value for money.Your travel rep can arrange for you to be picked up directly form the hotel.
We will definetly be returning to this Hotel."

"We had a great holiday here. Fantastic entertainment at the hotel with loads to do throughout the day and night.
Great location, nice clean hotel. We had four children with us from 11 through to 17 and they all thoroughly enjoyed it.
Two of them wanted to stay a third week.
My only gripe was the food, there was plenty of it but unfortunately not to suit my palette."

Its not a 4 star...!!
"We have just returned from a 2 week holiday in this hotel - it is by no means 4 star!! We go on holiday several times a year and this was the worst holiday ever. The accommodation is fine, spacious rooms, but our bathroom was small and we constantly had faults with it. The food is awful, its bland and is 3 star quality. The choice is very limited, every night the 'meat' buffet served chicken - which is always half cooked! pork or liver. The salad and soup is fine, we lived on it for two weeks! Some of the staff are very rude or speak limited english - I asked for a vodka and orange, I was handed gin and blue bols? I asked for my drink again and the bar maid was quite rude. (All inclusive) drinks are only served until 11pm, thereafter you pay cash...and yes the staff pocket the money!!
There are privately owned bar/restaurants on the beach, the food is good and well worth a visit.
Beach - you have to pay for a sun lounger, the beach is not run by the hotel.
Old Nessebar town is very nice, worth a visit and again, the food served in most of the restaurants was so much better than our hotel.
If you fancy a cheap 3 star holiday then this hotel is for you.
Sadly, very disappointing."

better than I thought
"After reading the reviews on this sight we were slightly apprehensive
however, the hotel was lovely, very clean and modern, the daily maid service was wonderful. The pools were lovely, clean and will hopefully get hotter as the summer goes on! There were alot of German
who I felt were treated slightly better than the English, but only slightly! The bar staff were very rude, and if you are female, expect
to be waiting hours if there are any males around, as they are guaranteed to be served first no matter how long you have been waiting! The food was alright... not very hot, but there was a relatively good selection, breakfast being the best meal by a long way! The all inclusive part... pizza and ice cream available during the day! Alot of people we spoke to were very disappointed about the evening entertainment, as there was none, unless you went to the next hotel, but then of course you had to pay for your drinks! However the entertainment team during the day were brilliant, and spoke very good English!!!
The weather was beautiful... oh and we did have to pay for our sunbeds on the beach and then when we left our towels down there to pop up and get a drink they were stolen!!!
The walk to the old town of Nessebar was beautiful and well worth doing, the town was really interesting too and quite busy. All in all though we had a really relaxing time in the sun!"

"Ifa mare is a really nice hotel but they have a lot of problems.
1.Food is not so good, only few choices. Many times i could not find something nice.We were a big group ,24, and all of us felt the same .We paid for sea view and when i asked were is my sea view ,they said >this room is with sea view, but you can not see ,because of the trees! After a terrible fight they gave me a pool view! The chairs from beach were not free. One day i asked for a teaspoon at the restaurant ,they were closed, but i was with a 8 month baby in my arms. They said >we do not have ,go to the bar ,wich was 100 m away. They were, indeed <<very nice>>!"

"We travelled as a family of four with children aged 5 and 8 for a no hassles sunshine break. Bulgaria delivered the goods for us.
The IFA Nessebar Mare is one of three hotels set in common grounds. There is a great Kids Cub with three childrens pools including a toddler pool, large playpool and waterslide pool with three small waterslides. There is also a larger pool by each of the three hotels on the complex. Also in the grounds are a range of swings and other play equipment.
Access to the beach is down about 80 steps, these are solid metal steps with three landings to ease the journey when you have the beach equipment to carry. The beach was patrolled by dedicted lifeguards and we did not have to pay for sun loungers on the beach.
The hotel was spotlessley clean, great family rooms, two interconnecting rooms inlcuded in the price. The rooms were cleaned every day by friendly staff.
We had no problem with the food which seemed to suit our taste with a variety of dishes every day. The salad, cold meat and cheese options were complimented by the hot food which was perhaps a little Germanic although there were plenty of pasta dishes. Chips were served once in the week so if you are looking for "English" food you may be dissapointed. We went in half term so the hotel was not full, there were always tables available and very few queues, dedicated staff kept tables clean and whipped away plates sometime before you had finished.
We found the staff to be generally very polite at all times, and had no problem communicating in English although we did try a few Bulgarian phrases, much to the amusement of those around us.
To get the best out of the entertainment you need to stroll to the other hotels in the complex. The entertainment staff worked tirelessly to keep things going if organised event are your thing. My only concern with the entertainment woudl be there seemed very little for teenagers to do.
The hotel is just "out of town" and you do need to taxi or busses to get around. Neesbar old town is pretty for short visit, Sunny Beach is full of tack and beach bars if that is your your thing. The whole area is one large construction site, although there is a lot of constrution in the resort area we were never bothered by noise or dust.
All in all, we wanted a hassle free break with good weather. We got just that."

Dont Bother With!!
"This hotel should be avoided like the plauge! I arrived back on the 9/6/07 and found that it was not worth the money.
The food was terrible, my boyfriend became violently ill with food poisoning after eating at the hotels resteraunt, and we had to pay for the doctor and medicine when it was in fact the hotels fault in the first place. It ruined the holiday, as we had hardly any money left and were put off all the food.
The hotel catered mainly for Germans with no regard to the many british that were actually there.
Only good thing was pool and rooms were clean.
It was a waste of money staing at this hotel, the all inclusive is rubbish and i would not recommend to anyone."

"The Nessebar Mare Hotel is a really nice hotel if you are looking for somewhere which is just off the "beaten track". It is an excellant base for a relaxing holiday. The hotel pool is great, really clean and safe for children, there is a lifeguard on duty all day. there is a smaller pool also which is great for children which has flumes for them to ride on.
The beach is accessed via quite a staircase which is easily acccssible if you are able bodied, however, it has no facility for disabled people to access. It is a lovely clean beach, not that large but lovely soft sand and clean safe water.
The hotel is lovely and clean and the staff go out of there way to look after you. Although it is owned by Germans I felt that other nationalities including English were treated equally.
Food was a variety of hot and cold buffet style, however the snacks on offer in All Inclusive package was not that impressive.
The hotel rooms were great, very large with maid service daily. Clean towels were put in room everyday.
The hotel was spotless clean and staff worked continously cleaning around the clock.
The hotel resort is situated about 5 mins by bus into Nessebar which is lovely with beautiful views of Sunny Beach across the bay. Sunny Beach is a further 5 mins by bus. A very lively resort with beautiful soft sand and very clean water. Ther is an abundance of restuarants, shops and bars to visit.
Bulgaria has beautiful countryside and the best way to see it is by Jeep Safari which can be arranged at the hotel.
Although the country has a lot of building work going on, I think that in a couple of years time it will become a very beautiful place to visit.

Wouldnt go back!
"We stayed for a week in Bulgaria. Unfortunately the weather was not good and we only had one day of hot weather. If it had been hot enough to sunbath the other problems may not have been so apparent.
The hotel was very nice clean and tidy, however the staff were incredible rude to the English, the hotel caters mainly for German tourists, as a female, it took me 25 mins at the bar to get served, the staff served all the germans and then all the men before me! The food was terrible, we lived on bread and wine all week, it was luke warm and the variety was very poor. We were all inclusive and landed up spending £150.00 eating out.
All inclusive is not a good ideal for this hotel, the "ice bar" that they talk about in the brouchure is basically, ice cream, the snack bar is 3 silver dishes filled with luke warm peices of pizza, cheese bread, not nice! The wine however is fine!
As the weather was not so good we had to spend alot of the time outside the hotel finding things to do. This is where you find out that you are a 20 minute walk from Nesserbar Old Town, which really isnt great, if you walk on from there for another 10 mins you come to Nesserbar Old Town, which is lovely but very small, in my opinion this is the prettiest place to visit in this area, and there are some nice restaurants but after going twice you would be bored.
Overall i dont think this country is geared up to accomodating tourists yet, there is alot of building work going on and its not particularly pretty. Sorry Bulgaria!"
