No.1 choice to stay in Havana!!!
"The house is located in very center of old Havana, literary few minutes of walking from all major sites. The apartment is on the top floor of the building, which makes it hard to climb up all the time but it is very well worth it, of every single step! It has a wonderfull view from the terace on entire old Havana! There are two rooms in the apartment with their own bathrooms and it is all in very good shape, very new and clean. There is also a third room which has a shared bathroom with the owners so you might wanna pay attention to that if that is an issue to you. However, all described above is less important than the fact that Dania and Giovanni are the best hosts you could possibly ever imagine!!! It was such a pleasure to spend every single free minute of our time with them. Also they helped us a lot with various challenges that came up on our trip. Very helpfull and warm people. And there is also a very important fact also, Giovanni is an amazing cook! After trying a few places to eat in Cuba, both restaurantes and other private homes, we can without a doubt say that Giovanni is the safest bet. Always plenty of food and everything tastes so good! All in all, we can not recommend them enough!! One thing is sure, when we go back to Cuba, we are staying with them again!"

Havana, the most unique city in the world, and the friends that support it.
"Yosvani and Dania were amazing hosts. We enjoyed learning many things about the way of life in Cuba. They have created a very fun place to stay that is about as central to Havana as you can get. Have more than one bedroom is nice as well, bc it give you a chance to interact with others everyday. After two weeks in Cuba, their place was by far our favorite. Thanks"

"Very central location in Old City. Good value, bright and airy, comfortable rooms. Worth the walk up the 4 flights of stairs. Lovely bathrooms, though hot water was very slow, but this did not matter as a warm shower is sufficient in the tropics.Great rooftop views. We stayed in Casa Dania for 5 nights at the beginning of our month in Cuba, and spent our last night at this Casa, as the experience was lovely. While we were on tour Giovani did a lovely job on the rooftop area, so now you can relax in a hammock and enjoy the breezes. The breakfasts were great and kept us going for most of the day. The inhouse dinners are very good and beautifully presented. A great attraction was Charlie the Daschound. Who was good company. very obedient and fun to play with. Thank you to the family for a great stay. Highly recommended."

Great home base in havana!
"My husband and I arrived in havana and 30 minutes later we were greeted by our amazing hosts at the door of Casa Dania. Clean, nice bedroom and amazing rooftop terrace with a 360 degree view of Havana. We had our first, and arguably best, mojito there. At the end of each busy day, it was nice to know we were heading back to Casa Dania."

Safe- pleasant and efficient
"We stayed at Casa Dania for 4 days and really enjoyed it. Thanks to Giovanny and Dania it was really a pleasant place to stay. It was our first time using Casa Particular and did not really know what to expect. The taxi driver found the place but it was in a small street and I was not sure I was at the right place. I did not know there's a blue sign on the main entrance indicating it's a Casa Particular. All that to say I was quite happy to see Giovanni after a few minutes to confirm we were at the right address. The rooms are very very clean with a nice bathroom and an airconditionning unit. The location is perfect for the old Havana. Giovanni prepares the breakfast with fresh fruits and eggs in the morning and it's perfect to start the day !!! We had diner in Old Havana for a few nights and found it was a bit overprice for what you get. We are easy and flexible travelers but we got caught like beginners in some restaurants. All that to say that you can ask Giovanni to eat at Casa Dania and he will prepare diner for 1/2 the price it will cost you downtown and it will be better and more fun if you have it on the last floor on the roof of Casa Dania. We really enjoyed the dinner. We will most certainly return at Casa Dania for our next visit. And let's not forget Charlie the dog, an amazing host and entertainer !!!!! Great trip, great people always a pleasure to be in Cuba....Thanks Giovanni and Dania"

Great Casa; Great Dog
"We had a great stay at Casa Dania upon arriving in Cuba and decided to return for a second time a few days before we left. The reasons- wonderfully clean and airy rooms; a fantastic rooftop terrace with excellent views; tasty and filling breakfasts; and Charlie the dog!! Dania speaks quite a bit of English and is a lovely and helpful guy, likewise the rest of the Lopez family. Even after we'd checked out and vacated our room the family let us use their own shower so that we were fresh for our flight home. We really enjoyed staying here and would highly recommend it."

THE BEST OF THE BEST IN HAVANA CUBA IS CASA DE DANIA
"How do can I explain this perfect hostel, case, bed in breakfast . Its amazing. From all the beauty in the home, to the love and help they gave each and everyone one of my friends. You must stay here. Have the breakfast, on a terrace that over looks Havana Vieja, let me help you plan your days and crazy nights, make sure to eat dinner as well. I write this for two reasons, one the food is amazing, and two the restaurant are terrible and very expensive! I think that to feel all of Cuba, one has to be in it as much as a tourist can. Cuba to me are the Lopez's. They are proud, respectful, fun, loving and the hardest workers one the planet. The rooms, food and service are impeccable and beyond affordable. One night here and you too will fall in love with this dream hotel. Only thing I hated, was I had to go back to USA. But I'll be back very soon."

Fantastic homestay in the heart of old Havana
"If you book what they call 'homestay' accomodation in Havana (what we Brits would call Bed and Breakfast and what they call Casas Particulares locally) you don't always end up in the one you (or your agent) reserved. They have a fairly relaxed attitude to over-booking in Cuba which is OK as they always will sort you out an alternative (there's clearly a big network of people who run homestays and all know each other). The thing is the quality can vary hugely (despite a standard price of around £30 per person per night) and therefore if you can secure one upfront which you know is good it'll improve your experience enormously. Dania and Giovanni are a couple who run a Casa on the top floor (5 flights!!) at 460 Obrapia with 3 double rooms, one with an ensuite bathroom and a small window with a view of the Capitol building. They're a wonderful couple, and serve a great breakfast of fruit, eggs (usually comes as an omlette or scrambled) bread and papaya jam, a fantatstic jug or fruit smoothie and great cuban coffee and hot milk. It also served on an open terrace which is fabuluous when the weather's good (which is most of the time). Rooms are basic but very clean and if you can put up with low water pressure (a universal problem) you'll be very happy. They also have a lovely friendly dachshund called Charlie."

A Home From Home in Havana
"Having stayed initially in a horrifically expensive hotel, we were very lucky to be directed to this Casa Particular by Reymond (from Casa Obrapia). We were immediately made to feel very welcome by Dania, Geovanni, and Charlie the dachsund. The rooms were immaculately clean, everyone was most friendly, and we were not even made to feel uncomfortable when waking our hosts at 1am while carousing slightly too loudly with other guests. The breakfast on the terrace (see pic) was the best to be had in Havana and Geovanni fancies himself as a bit of a chef! When we made a trip out of town, and sampled a much less salubrious casa, we realised how lucky we were and returned sooner than anticipated. Again they bent over backwards to accommodate us. A casa in the midst of Havana Old Town is always going to be noisy but I quite enjoyed waking up as the city awoke and experiencing the real life of Havana. It is close to the Capitolio and the Floridita (the home of the daiquiri) and the shopping street Obrapia - with plenty of nearby bars and (not very good) restaurants. Also near the Hanoi Restaurant - the best we found. Phone them on Havana + [-] - give them my love!"

Home from Home in Havana
"We found Casa Dania through the lovely people at Casa Reymond and Raydel (see their review). Right from the start Dania, Giovanni (plus Charlie the Dachsund) made us feel as if we were part of the family. Our room was bright (freshly painted) and clean with a lovely en-suite shower room. Everything was immaculately clean, with lovely fresh cotton sheets. Giovanni is an accomplished cook (fantastic huge breakfasts that couldn't be bettered!!) and he and Dania were endlessly willing to answer all our questions about Cuba as well as sort out more practical details regarding our stay. There are 2 rooms at this Casa (both ensuite) plus a terrace with a great view of the Capitolio. Dania and Giovanni are really open and friendly and their approach to making their guests feel comfortable was contagious so that we made friends with the other guests staying. In fact - even after we "moved out" (we were pre-booked into another casa) we found reasons to drop round to "our casa" to visit. I can't recommend this casa highly enough - we just loved it and felt really well looked after and happy sharing their home."
