Excellent, Outstanding, Must-Stay
"Luis Miguel is a marvellous host. His colonial home is very clean, charming, and the rooms are wonderful. The rooms have a private bathroom, hot water, and room safe. Luis Miguel speaks English fluently and helped us arrange all of our backpacking plans. When we had any questions or difficulties throughout our cross-Cuban adventure, we were able to call him in Havana for help. He arranged our accomodations, transport, baseball game, tour to Vinales, Trinidad and Cienfuegos. I would recommend his casa to anyone. The food was also incredible! Thanks, Luis Miguel! xo from Canada."

Best Casa in Havana!
"This is the best Casa in Havana. If you are thinking of trying a Casa Particular for the first time, this is the one you should reserve.
Safe, secure, clean, and perfectly located. The host family does an excellent job and takes great care of you. The rooms are beautiful, very clean, have private bathrooms, tv, mini fridge, wall safe, air conditioning, and are furnished in vintage antiques.
From this location you can walk to the malecon, the prada, the capitolo, china town, or even new Havana.
Once again, this is the top Casa in Havana because of its safety, security, cleanliness, and great service. Luis has been doing this for several years and takes great care of you and can give excellent advice to help you have an enjoyable time in Havana. We will definitely book again!"

Ideal location for visiting Cuba
"My husband and I visited Cuba for 5 days, some years ago we had a 2 day visit which gave us a taste for more, that time we stayed in a hotel which we found expensive and impersonal. I had looked up trip advisor and liked what I read so we booked Casa 1932 for 5 days. We arrived on Sunday 18th October, but due to a mix up Luis hadn't us booked in until Monday, he was out with his family at lunch when we arrived but after a phone call from his mother he arrived to greet us and told us he had arranged for us to stay just up the street with a friend of his Yola at Mansion Colonial for that night and our room would be ready the next day. This we did and very comfortable we were with Yola. The next day we booked in with Luis. He was indeed very welcoming and hospitable, our room was very clean with a safe, an en-suite and air conditioning. The food was amazing and very plentiful, we had to plead for less eventually! We had two dinners there and they were the best meals we had in Havana. The street scape was a little daunting at first, but it was actually fine and was in keeping with most of Havana in appearance. The house itself was a treat with a lovely indoor terrace area open to the sky and with a table and chairs to sit at. The room itself had a window on to this area. Luis was very helpful and gave us lots of good advice about being safe in Havana. Needless to say being so central we walked everywhere, but often took a coco taxi back - it was hot when we were there and the coco taxi's are fantastic, great excuse to take one! There were two lovely restaurants close by on the Malecon literally 3 minutes away and it was very pleasant to sit there for mohitas in the evening - they were both outdoors. We absolutely loved our 5 days in Havana. We did take one trip to Vinales, which was amazing, the countryside absolutely stunning and the main road almost without traffic. Luis, his mother and his brother made us feel so welcome and at home we would definitely return if we are ever lucky enough to get back to Cuba"

Our best friend in Havana
"We contacted Luis Miguel in August 2009 and came to Havana on September 9. Luis Miguel was waiting for us at the airport and accompanied us to his friendsâ house. We could not stay in his casa because it was full. But the friendsâ casa turned out to be absolutely perfect, so we never regretted not staying at Luisâs. Moreover, Luis invited us to his house for a cup of coffee and we discussed all our plans for staying in Cuba. He put down all the details and gave us plenty of advice. Later he used his contacts to find accommodations for us in Santiago and Trinidad, which were great too. So we have to say Luis is excellent at organizing things. We also had wonderful dinners at Luisâs casa. The food is unbelievably delicious and served with great taste. Actually, this could be said about his house in general: it has its own style and unique atmosphere, not found in other casas weâve been to. Luis is a very friendly and open person, interesting to have a conversation with. We would definitely recommend anyone coming to Havana to contact Luis and either stay in his casa or be under his guidance and protection. :) Alexander and Maria"

A good casa particulares hosted by a warm and helpful family
"Me and my friend were very lucky to meet Louis Miquel and soon we felt at home in his beautiful house. Its a very good place to start and end your travelling in Cuba and you can ask Louis about anything. The food they can provide you is in top class, so dont even bother to walk around to find a restaurant. The hole family is warm and friendly and you fell very wellcome.
I wish all the best to the Miquel family. Juliane and Astrid from Dinamarca"

"We stayed in this casa for 8 nights in May 2009. Excellent and highly recommended. Our host Luis was very generous and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was absolutely amazing. We had all our breakfasts and dinners in a lovely dinning room. The quality was next to none and the meals were exceptionally generous and good value for money. No comparison to the food you get anywhere in Havana, even the best hotels. The rooms are clean and comfortable with all the amenities one would need. The house is full of antiques and family heirlooms. The guests have a use of a very pleasant outside area. Most importantly it is very safe. Weâll cherish our memories from this stay.

Our home in Havana!
"We stayed in Casa 1932 in Havana with Luis Miguel for 4 nights during our trip to Cuba and loved it. Luis is a very welcoming host and made us feel right at home. His casa is beautifully maintained and comfortable, in a great location just off the Malecon and a short stroll to the sights of Havana Vieja and Vedado. Luis is also really helpful with tips on what to do and see, where to change money, internet access etc.. and his english is great, which was good for us as we have very little spanish. I'd definitely stay at Casa 1932 if I'm lucky enough to visit Cuba again in the future."

It was like staying at a friendâs house.
"I stayed at Casa 1932 (aka Casa Luis Miguel) for three nights during my second visit to Havana. Luis Miguel is a very warm, friendly and accommodating host. He takes so much pride in his casa and loved sharing the history of the house and his family. The casa retains a lot of its charming colonial details. Luis Miguel is also an avid antique collector and his collection adds a lot of charm to the colonial ambiance of the casa. During our stay, Luis Miguel was working on some improvements to the house which showed how much he cared for it. Our room was spacious, with an air conditioning in good condition. Our private bathroom had modern plumbing with good water pressure and hot water. The breakfasts were good and plentiful. We didnât get to try the dinner but other guest swore they were excellent. Luis Miguel offered us a glass of wine when we returned to the casa one night and chat with us. We thought it was a nice, civilized gesture. He gave us a lot of good information about Habana, bus schedules, etc. After we depart the casa to go to Trinidad, he called our casa particular in Trinidad to let them know that we were on our way.
The casa is in convenient location. We walked everywhere we went. The only time we took a taxi was when we came home from dinner in Old Havana on our first night because we finished very late and we were very tired. The casa is a block away from Malecon and there are several good restaurants that are very accessible along Malecon (One of them is Cafe Neruda - good food and drinks). Donât be turned off by the worn out façade of the buildings in the neighborhood. Once youâre inside Casa 1932, you will feel youâre in a safe and comfortable haven in Centro Habana. The street may look rough, but the neighbors were actually very nice and friendly.
Being in Casa 1932 is like staying at a friendâs house."

flashback into the 30's
"Casa 1932, run by Luis Miquel is a good choice if you are looking for well maintained rooms, quality antique beds, profi hotwatersystem, fridge, TV and great meals. Luis Miquel is behind it all, a busy man, always doing the utmost to please his guests. The antique interior of this casa takes you right back into the atmosphere of the 30´s. Constant maintainance and improving of the house makes you entering into another world if you come in first from the worndown street. Location was good for us, right in between Vedado and Old Havana and only steps away from the Malecon.

Fantastic centrally-located casa!
"This casa was built in 1932 and has been in the same family since. The enthusiastic owner, Luis, is an avid antiques and artefacts collector - many of the objects are family heirlooms. His warm, friendly welcome and delicious food made our stay very special. Would highly recommend this casa."
