honeymoon in paradise
"Thank you to Tom and Donna for helping us out on our honeymoon. Our initial resort sent us an email two weeks before our honeymoon was to start saying that they had sold the property and were closing. We had tickets so had to go to BVI, after some frantic seaching we came upon Agape Cottages and Cane Garden Bay. What a wonderful treat. Everything worked out for the best for us. We saved money and stayed on the Best Beach on the island. Donna was a great tour guide when we went off and tried to find the historical parts of the island, and recommending the "great wall" (on the ridge road, mural on the retaining wall), the trip to the Baths is a must. Just traveling around the island was a treat in itself. Luckily for us we were informed before hand that it was okay to pick up hitch hikers, as we got a bit turned around and needed some pointing in the right direction. Having the grocery store at the bottom of the hill was great, we were able to buy whatever we needed and packed a lunch everyday we went touring. The views from our balconly were spectaular and eating breakfast every morning from it, never to be forgot. We had a botlle of champange chilling in the fridge when we arrived, and Donna to meet us after a long day of plane rides. We can't say enough good things about our whole stay on this beautiful island. We hope to go back someday, and that it never loses its charm. Thanks for all the great memories and if we ever do make it back, Agape will be our first choice, and a definite referral to friends and family. Kathy and Kent, Thessalon, Ontario Canada"

Agape an excellent find
"We have just returned from a week in the BVI and were delighted with the accomodation and service we had at Agape Cottages. The hosts Tom and Donna went out of their way to be useful right from the start advising us by email of what festivities to expect that week, which taxi services and car hire companies were good and then booking a taxi to collect us from the airport. They were a mine of information on where to eat, how much to tip, where to scuba dive and snorkel, what the best deals were - one of which was a ferry to Virgin Gorda, a taxi trip to the Baths, lunch, a taxi ride back to the ferry and the ferry back to Tortola all for $35. A thoroughly enjoyable day trip. The rooms were larger than we expected and tastefully decorated overlooking Cane Garden Bay which has the most beautiful beach, a variety of nice restaurants and good snorkelling. On arrival we were provided with eggs, bread, butter coffee etc so that we did not have to rush off to the supermarket before finding our feet. There is a supermarket conveniently situated within a very short walk if you decide not to rent a car. However I would say hiring a 4x4 is an absolute essential if you want to get the most out of this beautiful island. And the best deal on the island is Agape Cottages."

The setting is lovely . you feel as if you are part of a small community - with grocery store and restaurants - and a gorgeous beach 3-5 minute walk away. The cottages are simple, clean, comfortable , with great views. The hosts are helpful and kind. We certainly plan to return again."

Beautiful views, spacious apt, hospitable hosts!
"We spent a week in Tortola at the Agape Cottages and completely enjoyed our stay there. The cottages are very clean and well equiped; the kitchen had everything we needed, including spices, salt, pepper, sugar, etc. Also provided were towels, boogie boards, and chairs for the beach. There was plenty of room in J2 for 2 couples AND our 2-year-old. I will warn that the balcony is not safe for a toddler, but the owners let me know before we arrived and we were prepared to not let our son out on the porch without a hand to hold. The views are spectacular from the porch at all times of the day, most especially at sunset. The Agape has friendly and helpful hosts who provide any information you need for a vacation - personalized to your tastes and needs. The breakfast foods provided for the first day are much appreciated after a long day of travel, and the fresh fruit from the property is delicious. The bedrooms were airconditioned and that white noise helped drown out the noise of the live bands playing in town (just down the very steep driveway) and the morning roosters. We highly recommend this property and will stay again when we travel to Tortola."

Agape: clean, great views, great people
"My Wife and I stayed in the Agape Cottages from May 19th through the 27th. We stayed in D1. The cottage was clean with a comfortable king sized bed, and a view of cane Garden Bay to that will make you melt. What a way to enjoy your morning coffee !!! The hosts Donna and Tom are extremely nice, friendly, and will go out of their way to help and educate you on the in's and out's of the BVI 's. In one phrase they're " Good Peoples ". The prices are very good. So all you middle class folks who are looking for a beautiful place to go relax, and enjoy life, you know where to go. -David DiStefano , Newton Mass."

A home away from home....in paradise
"It was love at first sight. The first time I saw Agape Cottages on the internet, I knew that was the place for me. In reality, the place exceeded my expectations for it was even better than what I had seen on the internet. The gorgeous views, lush vegetation, cleanliness and warm hospitality make this an idyllic place. I found my "home" in paradise 4 years ago, and I have returned every year since then. The apartments are clean, comfortably appointed, and most have balconies that offer stunning vistas. The kitchens are well-equipped, and for those who prefer to prepare their own meals, there is a well-stocked grocery store conveniently located at the end of the driveway leading to the cottages. Located less than a 5-minute walk from one of the most beautiful beaches in the Caribbean, Agape Cottages is perfect for those seeking quiet relaxation in peaceful surroundings."

Awesome...can't wait to go back
"We arrived in Tortola and with great directions from Donna arrived at Cane Garden Bay and our accommodations at Agape Cottages. Our room, J2 was the best! It was clean, well stocked, and had an awesome view of the water and the beach. The cottage which had two bedrooms, living room, and kitchen was more than adequate for our two couples. Donna had provided us with our first breakfast, sight seeing books, and advise on what to see, where to go, and where to eat. Donna pointed us in directions that we would never have thought of had we just been reading the traditional tourists books. Her recommendations for restaurants were 100% right on and we enjoyed our entire stay on Tortola. All four of us have decided that this is a definate "go back" on our places to visit. Recommend the island and Agape Cottages as a primo place to visit!!!"

The best kept secret
"I spent spring break at Agape Cottages in Cane Garden Bay, Tortola, BVI with my 11-year old son this year. The cottages were like jewels, tucked into the hills above Cane Garden Bay. The units were all attractive and very clean, equipped with anything one can imagine. The view from the terrace was straight out of a travel magazine, one which one simply could not get enough of. After a long and arduous trip, the owners made us feel extremely welcome, with a note and other niceties awaiting us upon arrival. During our stay, the owners provided invaluable assistance with taxis, ferry schedules, activity ideas, and other logistical details. We will be back!"

a comfortable adventure in cane garden bay
"staying at the agape cottages in cane garden bay, tortola, is like staying with your favorite loving relatives. donna & tom are the most hospitable innkeepers we have ever encountered. upon arrival, donna sat down with us and laid out a personalized adventure log that helped us immensely to program a week of beaching, diving, car rental, island touring and hopping, and local restaurant-going. tremendously helpful! and sharing their familiy's journal of their missionary work on the island was a generous gift. we felt ultra-comfortable in the two units (one bedroom, then two bedroom) we inhabited during the course of a week in march 2006. the cottages sit up on a comfortably-walkable hill overlooking cane garden bay, and minutes from the beach, stores and restaurants. the view is, to say the least, spectacular at all times of the day and evening. the apartments were clean, modern, well equiped (including with cooking gear), and airy. a little rooster noise in the neighborhood too early in the AM was the only detractor, but one could easily use the air conditioner to mask this minor annoyance. cane garden bay is centrally-situated on tortola--a good choice for an extended stay. the bvi is devoid of the loud noise, commercialism, casinos, crime, and other undesirable elements found on too many other islands in the caribbean. it is now truly one of our favorite vacation spots (for us two adventurous 60-year olds). we particularly enjoyed the bananakeet restaurant, located a few miles from cane garden--sophisticated eating, and mind-blowing sunsets. also, a day's trip to the "indians" (snorkeling area near norman island) on a catamaran called the "aristocat" (no spelling error!) is not to be missed!"

Fantastic place, incredible owners...
"The suite was great, had everything we needed. We got in late and Donna even had food in the fridge for our breakfast the next day because the stores were closed by the time we got in. Donna was very friendly and helpful, told us all the best places to eat, best beaches and sights to see. They have boogie boards and beach chairs available to use. The suite itself was very clean and comfortable. If we make it back to Tortola in our lifetime we wouldn't think of staying anywhere else."
