Wonderful Long Weekend

"My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful romantic long weekend at Cambridge Beaches in Bermuda. The staff was extremely friendly and went out of their way to help me surprise my husband for his birthday. We stayed in an amazing suite right by the ocean. The resort is very picturesque and private yet convenient to all the island offers. We will definitely return!"

Cambridge Beaches is Close to Heaven

"We just returned from a week {Thanksgiving Week} at Cambridge Beaches. This lovely spot is on the far western end of Bermuda and very peaceful.
We had heard great things about the resort and is often the case, our expectations were not so high that we were let down in any way. The location, particularly on the west side of the property which is THE place to watch magnificent sunsets, does not disappoint.
The staff was wonderful, from Richard Quinn, the most gracious General Manager to the housekeeping and dining room staffs. Our deluxe cottage was beautifully decorated with a king bed, lots of brightly colored pillows, a love seat, table and 2 wonderfully comfortable chairs for watching the sunset over the patio or for just kicking back.
The dressing area is seperate from the jacuzzi tubbed bathroom, and there was plenty of closet space including a safe.
The dining at this time of year is just in one restaurant, but we did not tire of it. CB participates in a "dine-around" program with several other resorts. We dined one night at The Reefs, and the meal was absolutely great. The dining at CB is a relaxing experience, very good food, with lots of options and a very well trained staff. We used motor scooters to go to the nearby Royal Dockyard to catch the ferry to Hamilton for lunch and shopping. Be warned that if you have not been to Bermuda in several years that the mopeds are gone and now the somewhat larger { and much faster} motor scooters have taken over.
It was so easy to travel the lovely roads all over the island.
On Thanks giving Day, a goomby dance troupe of young locals entertained us and the children had a scavenger hunt for a special treat . The staff made sure that the Americans among the guests were made to feel just at home on this holiday.
The spa is fine, yet small. The spa menu lists approximately 50 different treatments. I had only a mani/pedi as I was much more interested in using the motor scooter to see this most picturesque island.
There is an indoor pool and a saltwater outdoor pool as well as five beaches. The weather was a bit cool for the beaches, but I imagine they would be wonderfully convenient to your cottage in warmer weather. We highly recommend the MAP plan which includes breakfast, afternoon tea in the beautiful main house and dinner.
Cam,bridge Beaches is a truly wonderful escape, and we plan to return again and again."

Mixed Review

"Cambridge Beaches is very over-rated. Some rooms are fabulous, many are plain. Some have great views, others don't. Service is only so-so, not consistent with the high prices. Management is not helpful unless you are a repeat customer. Food is absolutely lackluster; use the dine-around program and eat dinners elsewhere. The beaches are very nice and secluded; one of the few plusses."

Most Tranquil Private Area on The Island

"If you’re looking to relax, Cambridge Beaches by far does the best job at secluding itself from the rest of the island. We had our honeymoon and stayed in a Deluxe Premium water view cottage. We were pleased with our balcony and view. The sound of kiskadees and tree frogs are still in the midst of our minds.

The reception staff as well as the bellmen were very helpful and courteous. The cottages and the grounds are well kept and maintained. The vista throughout the property is beautiful...you see pink cottages, greenery, and the blue water wherever you look. Housekeeping services your cottage twice daily...always fresh towels and ice. We took the complimentary boat to Hamilton and once in Hamilton...we couldn't wait to get back to our cottage and the private beach!!

We loved the service of the restaurants...the staff will do anything they can to please you. The food was outstanding...dinner was consistently excellent. The wine list is extensive and hits all the major wine regions of the world. Make sure to eat lunch at Breezes, even the lunch menu was exquisite. The Spa is top of the line, my wife indicated that she got one of the best facials ever (and she does get them ofen).

If you are planning a huge event like a honeymoon or anniversary (and of course weather permitting), this place is it. Of course if you're looking to unwind, you don't need a special event to hit Cambridge Beaches. If you're looking to go extreme, make sure to do the private island dinner. It was truly 10 on a scale of 10. The service was impeccable!!! We will be back!! Ralph and Ann"

"Cambridge Beaches couldn't be any better. My husband and I and another couple spent one week there last May. The property is in a gorgeous setting, food was divine, staff was courteous and helpful, guests were delightful. We traveled all the way from California and I'd return to Cambridge Beaches in a heartbeat. It's ideal for couples...lots of privacy or if you desire, lots of activities to choose from. It was a heavenly vacation."

Cambridge Beaches is one of the best spots in the world

"I read a very disturbing review of Cambridge Beaches today and want to set the record straight.
We (my wife and I) know of few places in the world we have come back to and this past July was our seventh time.

It has all one needs for a relaxing and invigorating stay. My wife enjoys the spa as well as simply sitting on the beach with the clear warm waters. I personally use most of what Bermuda has to offer such as a motor scooter (easily rented at the hotel), scuba diving nearby, tennis and snorkeling in the waters. We love the "one" restaurant since it has four star food and music and dancing every evening. Our only critique was the bands were not alway near the dining tables and we would have liked to dance between courses as we had done many times in the past. Hopefully this will be corrected. Who could want a more romantic spot. The staff is extremely helpful and proud to work at one of the best resorts in Bermuda.

Any criitcs just don't understand the relaxing and wonderful environs. We stayed at the hotel for the entire 8 days dining at the restaurant since the meals are so varied and creative.

Hope that helps squelch the critics.

Romance, quality and a Spa - what more can you ask for

"At Cambridge Beaches we found what we were looking for - a property that would appeal to our romantic side but provide the quality that we are use to, the bonus was the fabulous spa. We have stayed many times over the years and have watched the property change (always for the better) and develop into a real vacation retreat. good food, good service, good beaches and a choice of rooms in cottages with greater or lesser privacy depending on what suits you.

Nowhere is perfect but Cambridge Beaches comes close and after all a holiday is also what you make it. For us the best time is Spring or Fall. Everyone goes away in July and Aug but to get the best out of any property you should avoid peak dates.

Bermuda is not the Caribbean thank goodness and those reviewers who listen to local gossip should know better. Islanders around the world love to gossip and gossip is rarely praiseworthy it is just another form of grumbling."

Loved it and were delighted.

"We just returned from a 3-Night stay at the CB in Bermuda. It was great! We stayed in one of their newer rooms, the "Westerly North." We'd purchased a vacaton package from Expedia which included airfare and room at a very reasonable price.

Since we'd bought a package we weren't expecting much but instead were delighted from the moment we arrived. We were greeted at the taxi by Karl and checked in by Danny.

The Westerly North was clean and appointed with very classy antique furniture, a spacious marble tiled bath (w jetted tub), and a private covered patio overlooking an unobstructed view of the North Atlantic.

This was our first visit to Bermuda so we naturally wanted to get out and explore the island so we didn't spend the majority of our time at the resort, also the weather wasn't the greatist, but everything about the resort was top drawer. Everyday they had a very nice afternoon tea for the guests and the room service breakfasts were very nice, efficient, and courteous.

The housekeeping staff were very friendly, helpful, and yet unobtrusive. The front office staff were very helpful calling cabs and helping us navigate around the island and the reosrt. The wait and bar staff was equally helpful and friendly.

When we go back to Bermuda we will definitely return to CB and ask for the Westerly North. Kudos to expedia for a great value package and to the CB for making it a memorable and wonderful stay in spite of the weather.
