"I have been a timeshare owner for some time now and have made many exchanges in that period of time. You expect a certain caliber of resort when you make an exchange. This being said, when I walked in to my 1 bedroom unit I was enormously disappointed. The bedroom was big enough to fit the bed and a desk with a 19" tv with about 12 sq/ft of room to move around and change. Basically, it looks like a hotel room that was converted into a 1 bedroom. There are also no windows in there. That's okay, though, because you have a balcony with a view of... nothing [you thought I was going to say the ocean, didn't you?] The beach is across the street, but you can't see it from your room. If you want to know about activities on the island, you're on your own - there is no activities desk or concierge service. They actually hire the coordinator from a real resort to spend an hour of her time at La Quinta on Sunday morning. Of course, if you want to book anything, you need to call her resort or one of the activities places directly. Obviously, this means that there are no negotiated deals or discounts for La Quinta residents. By the middle of the week, you will actually be embarrassed to tell anyone that youâre from La Quinta. Do yourself a favor and stay at one of the high rises or either La Cabana or Playa Linda. La Cabana and Playa Linda are about two blocks a way in either direction, on the same beach, but a world apart. Also, donât be surprised when you see a timeshare tax of $12 per night. They donât tell you that up front. Oh, and you get to pay a 4% âconvenienceâ charge if you want to settle your final bill with a credit card. They will also force you to make a nonrefundable deposit that forces you to spend at least $20 at their pool bar. It says they have a restaurant in their description, but that is completely false. The pool bar is their ârestaurantâ and serves breakfast and lunch until about 3pm. The two good things about La Quinta? 1. Their proximity to La Dome. No matter where you stay on the island make sure you reserve a night at this fantastic restaurant! Bar none, the best food on the island. The staff is wonderful and the food is AMAZING! 2. The room is so bad, you donât want to spend any time in it, so you have a great excuse to always be out and about! By the way - a quick tip on getting around in Aruba: If you see a bus stop, wait in it. If the bus doesn't see you, they wont stop!"

A great place to relax
"We stayed for 3 weeks in Feb. and March in a one bed room unit in phase 2 (room 2104). This was out 2nd stay at La Quinta and our 10th visit to Aruba. Overall, it is a great place to spend a relaxing vacation. Good Points: Great, uncrowded location on Eagle Beach. Two pools, not crowded. Good service at the pool-side bar. On the bus line if you don't rent a car. The room was clean and in good condition. Other Points: Small with few amenities (no gym, no restaurant, no casino, etc.). No night life nearby, so if you want to live it up you will need transportation."

"La Quinta was a very clean and quiet resort. If you are looking for excitement or people it is not the place for you. We had a great time and loved Aruba and want to go back, but would choose a place with a little more activity. We found ourselves goint to the high rise section at night. Very disappointed that there was not even a little convienent store on the property. The people at the front desk were not very helpful and I always felt that they didn't understand English."

"My first time staying in Aruba and La Quinta was this past week. I should first say that I loved Aruba and the resort was great. The entire staff was friendly and helpful and they kept their property looking very nice. It's also a great asset to have a rental car company on site!"

Loved the Laqunita Resort
"My wife and I purchased our 1 bedroom unit over ten years ago. Initially we purchased with the mind set of buying at a low price and taking advantage of being able to exchange to other resort island. Needless, to say we exchanged our unit for other island destinations, but were always comparing that location with LaQuinta. We found that we enjoyed our unit much more then the other locations. As a result we return back to LaQuinta every year for the past 10 years. It is truly our special place where we feel at home and the people over the years have continued to make our place special."

"We stayed at this resort and had a wonderful time -- people were wonderful -- we stayed in the front part and met a bunch of people. We had a couple of potluck dinners. Right across the street from the beach -- never had any problems with a crowded beach........."

we loved it!
"We bought our unit on line from a Real Estate company. So we did not know what to expect when we arrived. It was Wonderful! A nice quite haven. We purchased a 1 bedroom unit. The pool was just steps from our door in a quint courtyard. We have week 19 and it was very quite when we were there. The bus stop is right out front so no rental car is needed. We think we got a GREAT price for this timeshare."
