"Expensive, for a bare room with doors that dont lock and no safes, they make you pay up front as you arrive so you cant walk out in disgust when you see the room. The .water in the rooms was salt and barely warm. The more you pay for a room the closer you are to the beach and the "rock bar" that doesnt stop pumping out music until 3am. There are better options with the larger hotels dont waste your money here. Oh and the people who serve you breakfast also take breaks to play with the feral cats on the island then go back to serving you food."

Engagment Ring Stolen From Hotel!
"This is a warning to all travelers going to Ko Phi Phi Island. DO NOTstay at the Phi Phi Viewpoint Resort!!! My engagement ring(that still has not been replaced yet due to insurance claims) was stolen from our locked bag. The doors were always locked and there was no sign of forced entry. The engagement ring was in our money belt that was locked with a TSA lock in our backpack. Someone sliced the back of the backpack in order to see what was in the locked portion. My finace was about to propose to me that day! I had tears in my eyes when we discovered that $200 USD was stolen along with my diamond engagement ring. The thief did leave our passorts, credit cards and $250 USD. It appeared that they wanted to skim a little off the top without causing too much commotion. But they got a lot more then they bargained for once they unwrapped the money to find a diamond ring. I wouldn't be surprised if the owner was in on it. The police officers and Hotel owner tried to convince us to tell our insurance company that it was lost in the ocean or at the pool! Be careful at this place! It was a horrible experience but I hope that other people can be aware of this incident and not support this hotel. It was an inside job and there is nothing that you can do about it once your precious possessions are gone. Safe travels, Lost in Ko Phi Phi"

Dont ever stay here
"We stayed at this resort for 2nights, it was the worst two nights ive ever had. dont know where to start 1.Hotel room was a deluxe beachfront. $120 a night Ive stayed in alot nicer backpackers and there only $20 a night bathroom is outside in the open so everyone can see no privacy. 2.You wont sleep until 3am because of the nightclubs right next door. 3. Worst breakfast in the world had hairs in our pancakes and got sick from them. 4. Hotel manager doesnt care at all he knows it really needs maintance but pretty much laughs at you. 5. If you ever stay here serously change it because it is shocking. hope this helps sam"

Some great, some not-so-great
"Some very good things - great service, friendly staff, convenient amenities with a mini-mart on site. The pool has the best sunset views on the island, period, and the poolside bar (while a bit pricey) the best drinks. That said, there were some drawbacks... the "beach view" was actually a view of a concrete pathway and some trees, with the bay somewhere behind them; and if you're low down, the noise and laser shows from nearby bars on the beach will keep you awake for sure. On balance, it was too much money and at the very least I would opt for one of the cheaper huts up the hill."

very nice hotel, good location
"stayed in this hotel in their second bottom class room, which was seaview with air con, in low season it cost 30pound a nite for a double, the room was clean and had a great view of our pool, the beach and limescale cliffs. The hotel was located on one end of the island but only a 5 min walk from everything so you could feel secluded but still have everything right next to you. The room had a tv and your shower strangely was attached to the room but outside. Hotel breakfast was also very good."

DO NOT STAY HERE - expensive and low quality
"DO NOT STAY HERE!! Two huge problems: 1) showers use salty /smelly ground water - don't buy their excuse that every hotel on Phi Phi has the same problem. We talked to plenty of travelers that did not have this problem and paid far less than us. 2) extremely loud night club music until 2 AM kept us up all night. Hotel is generally very basic and old. The pool has a nice view, and that's about it. The management seems to cut corners wherever they can. For example, we found a dirty / rusty screw inside our pillow. Mgmt said they are no longer placing orders with that supplier, but offered us NOTHING in terms of refund. We would've left right away had we not pre-paid through Sawadee.com. PP Casita is brand new, a lot nicer, has clean water showers, and although it is closer to the night club and tsunami wreckage, does not have the same noise problems as us. Unfortunately, this side of the island looks like the tsunami hit it two months ago, instead of two years ago. It used to be so nice... it is a real shame that what used to be a beach of palm-tree shaded bungaloes is now full of loud and unsightly bars... the beach looks particularly bad during low tide. If we could do it again, we would stay at one of the resorts on the quieter side of Phi Phi... the beach is much nicer, cleaner and quieter. Only downside is having to take a boat in to town (100 baht per person)."

"Agree with the review about simple- it is - the balcony is nice -2 chairs-. there is no safe in room but for 75 cents can be rented. The pool you have a good view and the staff were nice. I too agree not really worth the money I paid $2500 bat for the beach bangalow but it is not really on the beach which was a disappointment -it does have a great view and the AC did work well."

Don't go ! Thieves in rooms !
""You should change of hotel, sir. This place is not secure. " That's what you get from local police when you declare you've been stolen 5000 bth (150$) in your room, hidden in a used sock, in a bag, in you luggage. "It happens 3 or 4 times each month, but we haven't got enough clues to investigate. I give you blue paper for your insurance, incase". Police again... By the way don't even think to get a "so wat dee" or a "hello" at this hotel and must of all, unless you plan to party until 2 in the morning, don't even think to sleep before that time : electro & rock party every night on the beach... and in your room. In a certain way, this is Koh Phi Phi : thieves, noise, drunk australian and american students drinking beer in hotel's swimming pools and on the beach 24/24 : just the other side of of Thaïland."

"Booked a room for 3 nights for a good rate but I was slightly dissapointed. I had a seaview room which was nice. Certainly with the two balconies. But the room itself was quite basic. No safe (could be rented at the reception desk) and no phone. The bathroom is really simpel and not really clean. The sink was really dirty. The water from the shower and tap is salt water which is really gross. And there was supposed to be hot water in the shower but forget that. The breakfast is really simpel as well. You get to choose one dish from a menu and it is not very much and not really tasty. To get to the hotel you have to walk along some kind of dump first which is not very attractive. Staff and service is okay. But don't expect 4* luxury. I paid about 2000 baht a night in the low season but for other hotels where I paid the same rate were way better."

cocktails and views out of this world
"We spent about a month in Thailand and we found the people very friendly but it was only when we got to Phi Phi View Point Resort that we really kicked back and saw why people go to the island for a holiday and end up staying for years. We took our PADI open water course With the dive shop on the resort (Blue View Divers) Who gave us an amazing experience that we will never forget. We spent most of our days chilling with poolside bar and food service (Mojito Bar) , After a hard day!! we would start at the mojito bar enjoying the best sunsets and amazing cocktails on the island. In the evening we would try one of many fantastic restraunts in town. Phi phi has a little bit of everything for every one! Ads n Em x"

Paradise with one little fly in the ointment
"The hotel itself is great. Our bungalow had amazing views of Lo Dhalum Bai and was cleaned daily . We even had two showers - one inside with hot water and one outdoor shower with cold water. The hotel pool was brilliant and the restaurant had really good food at reasonable prices. We LOVED the Mojito Bar ..... say hello to Jamie and Connie from us ... and try an Island Margarita. Blue View Divers is based at the hotel and they too were fantastic. Our diving was a little rusty so they gave us a review dive before we did the usual fun dives. All very professional but friendly too. They dive from the local longtail boats ... so much more fun than those huge factory ships. The one fly in the ointment was the terrible noise every night from the Sunset Bar down on the beach. The dufdufduf goes on till 2am every night and is loud enough to shake the windows. Take earplugs. (Hopefully they will be closed down really soon after heaps of complaints) But don't let it stop you trying Viewpoint. It's a great little hotel and the staff are terrific."

"My boyfriend and I were very nervous staying here and weren't expecting too much after reading other reviews however we were pleasantly surprised. We stayed 2 nights in a hillside ocean view bungalow (with A/C) which overlooked the entire beach - beautiful! Rooms were basic (compared to other 4 star hotels we had stayed in) however, quite reasonable for the price and conveniently located only 15 minutes from the dock. Phi Phi Island is a must! If we go again, we would probably stay here as it is a little further from the main town so a bit quieter but there was still a fair bit of noise from beach parties down the hill. The pool is very small but who needs it with that amazing beach just 50 metres further down the hill..."
