"The Ramada hotel is absolutely stunning, just as the pictures on the internet. The food was great, wow what a choice for breakfast. I can not say enough about the hotel and its friendly staff, they could not do enough. The pool and surrounding area is so relaxing and that's what we went for. Thank you to everyone at the hotel, hope to see you another year. Oh by the way if you want to "party" all the time - don't go to this hotel, you'd spoil it!"

"Ramada Khaolak Thailand
We stayed 6 nights at this resort and wished it was a lot longer, the resort is smaller and more intimate than many others we have stayed.
Service, staff and food quality were all excellent, we stayed in a seafront villa whilst expensive very good with direct beach access and uninterupted views, fantastic spa to relax in after a massage, with or without a cold beer.
Dont worry about bringing duty free spirits as you can purchase half bottle gordons gin for approx AUD$10-00 from the mini bar with a bucket of ice delivered to the room, also plenty of cheap beer & spirits available from local shops.
We booked our own trip to the Similan Islands with Fantastic Similan Travel a fantastic day of snorkling etc, great team of staff,
with a good lunch provided, however we could have booked through the resort at the same price as we did for the rest of our activities including massages(air con comfort same price)
All in all a great relaxing spot with no hawkers to annoy, will be back.

One of the best hotels I've stayed in!

"My husband and I stayed at the Ramada Khao Lak for 4 nights - March 25-29, 2008. WOW! WOW! WOW! We literally used about every facility and service there.

Check in and Service - Fantastic, they seat you down on a couch and give you a cool fruit welcome drink and a floral scented wet towel. You do the whole check-in process while you sip your drink and look at the view.

Room - Awesome. We booked a Deluxe room with Lanai (this is a must!). Great access to the pool and beach. Lanai has loungers great for relaxing out of the sun, reading or just late night conversations over a glass of wine. The bed was v. comfortable and clean room. Little touches like fresh flower in the bathroom, free bottles of water and a clothes drying rack on the lanai became v. useful.

Restaurant - good. Food and cocktails were good, but more expensive than outside the hotel. We did love the breakfast (included in rate). The staff wait on you hand and foot and the breakfast buffet included fresh thai fruit, western and thai food - very delicious and varied daily. Check my pictures. There is also a wet bar in the pool for cocktails and lunch - the fruit shake and the coconut drink served in the coconut were delicious.

Spa - Great! We did a couples package - own room with bath tub and outdoor shower. We did a 2 hr. foot, body massage and body scrub for about 4,600 baht.

Cooking Class - loved this. I recommend for anyone who loves Thai food and cooking. The Head Chef took us to the market in the morning (great photo ops) and then taught us how to cook the dish right outside by the pool. Then we ate it at our own private table setup outside.

Activities - Bikes can be rented at the Spa (they only have a few for about 25 baht an hour). However, right outside the hotel near the first few stores, a scooter can be rented for 300 baht the whole day. Great, fun way to see the area! We also did scuba diving/snorkeling, elephant ride, golfed, cooking class, scooter rental, and ate our way thru Khao Lak!

Have FUN!!!"

"My daughter was married on the beach in front of the Ramada Resort, in one word "FABULOUS"
The staff & management at the Ramada gave us a day that was beautiful in every way. Every detail was presented to a standard above our expectation.
The service, food,& presentation all round during our stay was top class. The Ramada is located in a lovely quiet spot away from the busy fast pace of todays world.
Perfect if you want to relax, enjoy the fabulous beach, great swimming pool, top class accommodation & wine & dine whilst re- charging the batteries.
Sun sets over the balmy Andaman Sea "BREATH TAKING"
We absolutely recommend Khao lak its beautiful people & the Ramanda Resort.

Really Ocean Front

"We stayed in an Ocean Front Villa which was really ocean-front. There was nothing between the villa and the sea.(At some neighboring resorts, there were a lot of sunbeds just in front of their Beach Front Villas, so the guests had no privacy.) We just relaxed lying on the sunbeds on the balcony or sofa in the room all day. We highly recommend this villa even though it is not cheep. We used to live in Thailand and have traveled a lot around Asia, but we found this was one of the best room we had stayed.

Other rooms were in a three or four-storied building and also looked nice, though they were less close to the sea. I didn't think there was much difference among Deluxe Rooms, Deluxe Ocean View and Deluxe Lanai Ocean View.

Most of the guests were German and Scandinavian. Staff were very friendly. Meals were O. K. There were many good restaurants within the walking distance. Our favorites were Kao Naew and Lek Loba on the main street of Banyan, near Seven Eleven.

We thank those who wrote helpful reviews here and hope this would help you."

"Absolute heaven. We had booked a deluxe ocean view room which was beautiful the rooms are very modern and spacious. The hotel had dressed the bed with swans and flowers spelling honeymoon in petals. Two minutes later there was a knock at the door and they had bought us a bottle of champagne. What a cracking start. Two days later they upgraded us to a beach front villa and wow wow wow. The hotel is a little slice of heaven, beautiful surrondings and a fab little beach restaurant next door. Couldnt have asked for more, the staff made our honeymoon truly memorable."

"we loved the hotel, the rooms were great, however remember to ask for a king size bed or two doubles, don't assume. The massages by the pool were great although you have to order in advance. To the left of the h otel on the beach is a fantastic resaturant which we ate in every day. The prices were great and the food deliscious. The massages on the beach are also fantastic and very cheap. The dinner in the hotel was also good, buta bit pricey for Thailand. However worth it at least one night as they had a show and a lot of options. We really enjoyed the hotel and the welcome was really nice. If you need to do laundry go into the indian restaurant just outside the hotel. Also a good little shop just outside the hotel to get drinks etc. All in all very relaxing resort, we went on a one day trip to James Bond Island which was marvellous. We booked through the hotel and highly recommended. Enjoy"

quieter than the strip in khao lak town

"Having stayed in Khao Lak before the tsunami, we were apprehensive about returning and indeed much has changed in the town which is noticeably busier. We were, however, please to find the ramada was three kms north of the 'strip' on a quieter stretch of beach, though still well supported by the usual thai beach infrastructure of restaurants, bars, massages and dive centres.

The hotel has, currently only 84 rooms (smaller then the hotels nearby but possible extension in the future), pleasantly though not exotically (limited trees/plants etc) located around a large lawned open area and a splendid large infinity pool with plenty of loungers for everyone and a sunken bar.

The beach is fairly child friendly but waves can be quite big at certain times. Prices are reasonable compared with nearby (and larger) hotels and breakfasts above average. Other meals suffer in price against beach establishments because of the thai tax structure that penalises bigger businesses vs the small operator. There are a number of local restaurants (italian/thai) within 10 minute walk and a market 20 minutes away three times a week, usual goods.

One improvement could be a regular (say 2/3 times per day) bussing service to the strip which takes 10 minutes and currently costs 150 baht fixed!! price. Airport pickup from Phuket airport is available (in our case in a brand new deluxe car on hire from hertz!!) at a reasonable rate, a bit higher then transfers available from local travel agents.

Staff are always pleasant and helpful but it is an extra effort to get out of the hotel or get to reception which is located on the first floor so you have to go up, then down again to get out. Probably a tsunami consideration, and escape route is well marked for peace of mind.

All in all, a mature clientele, with younger couples and a few children and the odd wedding package guests too."

"For five couples celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary we could not have found a more ideal setting. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms, the grounds and the beach in front were all just perfect. All members of staff were helpful and did everything to make our stay pleasant, always with big smiles. None of us wanted to leave and we look forward to our next holiday at the Ramada Khao Lak.

The only downside is the cost of the meals. The first night we had the Thai buffet which was delicious, the service outstanding and the surroundings very special, however very overpriced in comparison to first rate meals in other restaurants. Breakfast which was included in our room rate was excellent.

I highly recommend Khao Lak as a holiday destination - not overcrowded, but still all the amenities to make for a wonderful holiday."

Splendid service and staff at a beutiful hotel

"Our two weeks at Ramada Resort Khao Lak were the best hotel stay we've ever had. The hotel is beautiful situated on the beautiful beach of Bang Niang, which is a very calm and beautiful beach. There's a beautiful pool are in the hotel's garden surrounded by palm trees and flowers. The room was big, of good design, with a nice terrace. Everything had that SPA feeling, calmness, beauty and relaxing. However what made the stay so splendid was the nice and gentle staff on the hotel. The staff you meet, the front desk, cleaners, pool attendants, breakfast hostess, drivers, SPA personell, etc always met their guests with a smile and kind words. Even though the profile of the hotel is a SPA, not a family hotel, the hotel took so good care of our dougthers (6 and 9 years old). The children love the hotel just as much as their parents! Worth mentioning is also the breakfast buffet which has everything could possibly desire to eat and a beautiful terrace in the garden. The SPA service was also great. If you wish to have a good relax on a beautiful spot this is the best hotel choice!"
